La ubicación es buena. Está cerca del vaporetto y de la estación de tren. Nuestra habitación estaba pegada a la calle y había mucho ruido. La gente que pasaba por el callejon podía verte por la ventana. La habitación era grande pero con una decoración muy antigua que da un aspecto triste y sucio al lugar. El baño era chico, un poco incómodo. La primera vez que nos duchamos la bañera se tapó y tuvimos que esperar hasta el otro día para que bajara el agua. El personal es servicial. El desayuno no es muy abundante. Es ideal para estar pocos días, no es para una estación prolongada.

The hotel met my needs (twin bed, small desk, sink, closet and window). There was a shared bathroom for the floor. Breakfast was not very substantial (a couple of roles, coffee and juice). The hotel was a short walk from the train station (there is one bridge with a ramp for those of you that have luggage). The hotel is close to the waterbus stop, restaurants, shops, grocery and there is a market on the weekend. I would recommend buying a pass for the waterbuses. Each ride is 6.50 euro and a 3-day pass is 33euro. If you are interested in the islands, you will have to take a boat (13euro.

I stayed for a few days as a solo traveler, and the hotel was quite adequate. The room was clean, the shared bathroom was clean (and usually unoccupied) and the shower enclosure was actually among the larger I encountered in Italy (not saying much). Breakfast of two rolls and packaged toast was unexciting but the cappuccino was fine and there were several little bars with decent pastries nearby. Walls were thin so earplugs were helpful for sleeping. Certainly wouldn't stay for any romantic vacations but fine for a night or two.

I have used the hotel before, I find the staff friendly and hotel basic but clean. I have used a number of hotels in Venice and have found that rooms tend to be on the small side and unless you are willing to spend a great deal of money then you will always feel let down by the room size. I would use this hotel again as the location is perfect for when you enter the city. Its my second stay and hope that it will not be my last. Basic rooms that are clean, great location in the city, what more do you need for a short city break.

This hotel is at the very bottom of Venice's budget league. And while it's friendly, clean and central it's the meanness of it's tacky breakfast that separates it from all the others. It was appalling; 2 stale bread rolls, 1 small cup of coffee and a watery, orange liquid laughingly called orange juice. The breakfast was mean, cheap and awful. For an extra five euro you'll get a better hotel near by, and you're gonna spend that on a decent breakfast anyway. Shame on the Leonardo, everything else about it was fine.

The staff were very friendly. They put us in a comfortable, clean, reasonably-sized room complete with a crib with cute sheets. They made their refrigerator available to us for stocking milk for our toddler. This was a great value for the price. We would certainly come back. Other hotels charged extra or gave us a hard time for the crib, they did not. We loved the neighborhood too. Easy to get to from the vaparetto stop (S. Marcuolo) but seemingly away from the major throngs of tourists. In the early mornings (awake with toddler!) I actually felt like we were in a "real" neighborhood where people go to the supermarket or stop at the bakery on the square for a delicious brioche with marmalada.

Great location and easy access from train station - easy walk even with luggage (only one bridge to go over). Our room (with bathroom) was right next to public toilets and thus, pretty noisy with people going in and out all night. Breakfast is marginal - uninteresting roles - good coffee.

My friends and I stayed in a 1 double room but we were lied to and it was horrible. The website page said air conditioning, but instead we got a broken fan. The hotel is located right above a noisy restaurant so if you want to sleep with the window you get to hear their patrons for most of the night. The room was also very small and and as unaccommodating as the people themselves. Rudeness and incompetence runs high and its located in an alley way. Although we LOVED VENICE!, Hotel Leonardo was disgusting and disappointing.

I must take umbrage with comments made on the webpage, as I think this hotel was absolutely lovely. Lovely people, beautiful marble floored rooms with antiques and fabulous linens on nice firm beds. It is not air conditioned, but it cools at night. I slept with the windows open and the cool breezes over me all night fueling the deep sleep of childhood. There was a fan, but I didn't need it. I highly recommend this hotel and would return again if I were to return to Venice. PD

This property was close to the train station which was convenient. The room was air conditioned with a private bathroom. However, some of the wallpaper was peeled off of the wall so it looked pretty cheap looking, and there looked to be years of dust under the bed. I guess housekeeping doesn't think to clean under there. If you're looking to stay one night, then it's okay, but if you expect more, then you'll have to spend more than 110 EURO per night.

I was taken to a secondary location where there were no 24h staff present. But the location in the city it was fantastic! Also very quiet at night. The single room really had just a single bed!! Very narrow. I was afraid to fall off when I turned in my sleep! There would have been room for a little bit wider bed. Even the headboard was 40cm wider than the bed... The breakfast was non-existent. Just some bread and jam. Coffee and tea came from a machine (awful!) and the orange juice was this sugary stuff from a discount store. It would not have hurt to have at least something like Philadelphia cheese for your bread and maybe some yoghurt. Can't stand the sweet stuff in the morning...

The employees are not profissional. I have problem with hot water, they could not fixed it! After discussion they decided to change us to another hotel. There was not elevator and nobory to help with our luggage to up (2º floor).

Hotel was a good location for everything. Only a 10 minute walk from the train station. But the price was way too high for the minimal room. Room had a t.v. which was a plus. But rooms' wall are way too thin. You can hear everything happening outside in the hall. If staying in Venice, spend alittle bit more like staying at a 3 or 4 star hotel. Stay at this hotel if you don't see anything cheap.

For a room without a bahroom it is expensive. I suppose the explanation is that Venice is an expensive city. The room was just beside the court of a restaurant, so i suppose that when the weather is fine, it is noisy. We experiment it a few times, it ended at 10 h 30 pm.

The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom (inside the room) was very small but clean, towels were changed everyday. Central Heating was sometimes too high. Very close to Santa Lucia Train Station and to one of the 3 bridges that cross the "Gran Canal", great if you want to return to the hotel at night by foot. Many shops close to the Hotel and a vegetables market every day on the street.

We gave very high rating because when we arrived they put us in a private apartment about 2 blocks away from the hotel. Big and quiet . The maid forgot to clean our apartment but there were extra towels in the dresser so we had a good stay. Never saw a room in the hotel other than the lobby and the breakfast room.

The location was excellent. It was close to a busy street but still away from the noice. It was also easy to find. The room was a little worn but clean and the beds were comfortable. Allthough we weren´t disturbed by any outside noice the doors inside the hotel were thin as paper. If someone was talking in the corridor you could here every word. Not a hotel for noicy lovemaking, if you knowe what I meen ;-) We would definitly recommend the hotel. Inexpensive with very nice staff!

The hotel is very well situated for tourism : 15 min from Piazza Roma, 5 from the nearest vaporeto station, 30 minutes from St Marco. Cannaregio distric is calm during the night and you can find good restaurants north to the hotel. The room was clean, the bed ok, the bathroom not very big but ok, TV, clim. The hotel is a little bit noisy (we were near the stairs). The breakfast is simple (a piece of bread, a coffee, an orange juice (natural ?)) but it was ok for me. We enjoy our stay there, even if the price is expensive, but I guess : hotels in Italy are expensive, and here you are in Venezia, no need to take a bus or a train to be back to Mestre.

Honestly, it's a dinky little hotel. Not exactly clean. Rooms are dark because the windows face another building that is right next to it. Public areas of the hotel are nonexistent. Breakfast? What breakfast? The bathroom was tiny and I didn't want to go into the shower. So overall, not a great hotel. Location is allright, but not exactly center. In the case of Venice it is actually good.

DO NOT book this hotel for your stay if you are looking for any sort of "normal" accomodations. Granted we didn't expect anything grand, of course, given the price and all, but did expect basics to be taken care of... To list a few things, to get cold water - had to turn on the shower - no cold water in the sink, when reported to frontdesk - the man came up, knocked on smthng for a few minutes, said will be back to fix in 5 min - never returned (later claimed he did, but no one answered the door, which is not true as we were actually waiting for him and waiting before leaving the hotel). Next, the shower itself.. Oh man.. No, did not expect a big one or anything, very familiar w/european showers, but this! This was as tiny as it gets! Plus on top of it a broken shower door, so had to slide in sideways (a petite female!), had to hold the shower head in one hand the whole time as the hanger for it was also broken. The toilet kept leaking from somewhere in the walls, so there was constantly puddles of water around (try to keep that in mind all the time and not step in it, especially in the middle of the night). No a/c, just a fan, lots of squashed mosquitos on the ceiling (very uplifting image as u go to bed). So forget about closing the windows, but... Don't forget the smell! And the noise!! Which come from the restaurant right next to the hotel (u can see what's in everyone's plate just by looking out of the window) hence hear all the conversations, smell the cooking fish & enjoy the clicking/clucking noises from the forks, knives, glasses, etc. And last, but not least - dead phone. Frontdesk informed callers to our room "the phone will work in 2 hrs", well, guess what, it never did. Remained dead and silent until we left. When reported to frondesk as we were leaving - the answer was "sheisa working"! I don't think so! 'Cause she was not working and sheisa still not working! So overall, I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay in this hotel nor will I ever stay there myse

Was extreemly dissapointed with our stay here. We thought the website pictures looked great but, were very misleading when it came to the actual property. The furniture in our bedroom was very old and well past its used by date. Our bathroom was dirty, with other peoples filth still around the base of the shower. When you flushed the toilet the shower completely stopped. The bathroom was overall cramped and un-user friendly. If you get given room 5 ask to change. We stayed in much better places for the same price. Breakfast was a joke as well.

This was a nice little hotel, very basic room but very pricy (as is the whole of venice anyway). hotel staff were lovely and very helpful. close to san marcuola vaporetti waterbus station and about a 10 minute walk from the main train station nad 8 minutes on the vaporetto to the main transport hub of Piazzale le Roma to the airport. the only downfall was that the tv didn't work in any of the rooms - not a big deal but for 70 euro a night ith no ensuite was a little annoying.

The hotel was fine for a two star hotel.it was more or less what we expected knowing how two stars hotels are in Italy.the bigest problem was that we were on the ground floor next to the kitchen and in the mornings it was very noisy.the hotel was easy to find and in an area where resaturants and shops were cheaper than in the most touristic areas.

I stayed at the hotel during the Venice Bienniale opening and they put me in a horrible single room with a bad matrace. A bidet was in the room and the whole room smelled of urine. I left after one night. They offered me a room in a affiliated hotel which had no 24 hour reception, but was clean and comparibly spacious. however they charged the full price although i had to move. There are really much better hotels in Venice, better not stay here.

The receptionist who works at night...not professional at all. A person like him must not work in a hotel reception. He told us that the door closed at 1 and we cannot enter after that time. My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Hotel Leonardo. The location was great. The room was adequate. Our room had a shower and toilet down the hall which was always available and clean. There was noise from the restaurant next door till after 11:00 then it was quiet. Our mattress was not very comfortable. The room was kept very clean and the staff very nice and helpful.

First of all, the name of the street which hotel Leonardo is situated is actually located in two different places on opposite sides of Venice. Upon arriving to Venice my boyfriend and I used our travel guide map to find the street listed in the hotel's address. After about a 45 minute walk with two rolling suitcases, up and down about 20 sets of stairs, we arrived to the street, only to find no hotel. So make sure you check the correct map for the location! You shouldn't end up walking more than 10 minutes from the train station. The hotel itself was fairly nice. The rooms were big, but not as nice as pictured here. Our biggest complaint was that our room was directly between the reception desk and breakfast room and around 6 am it was noisy enough to wake us up. We could basically hear every word uttered outside our room. Staff were nice, especially the women who served breakfast in the morning. A nice place to stay, but definitely not worth the money we paid.

This is a charming little hotel. The location was prime, just a few steps away from Rio Terra San Leonardo and far enough from street noise. The price is quite reasonable. The fellow at the front desk was very, very nice. I am a runner and like to get up very early to train. The desk clerk rose early every morning to see me off. That was a bit of customer service that was above and beyond. On the minus side, the sink in room #10 is attached only by the drain pipe. Don't lean on it. The shower is about the size of an American phone booth. The walls are about as soundproof as a screen door, but I've learned to travel with noise-cancelling headphones, so that wasn't a problem.

There was some confusion with our check in, but the staff was friendly and apologetic. The room was spacious by Venice standards and clean. The bed was softer than we normally like, but surprisingly comfortable. The down side was the paper thin walls especially since we were next to the breakfast room. No sleeping in for us. I understand it is venice and you can expect to pay a little more for staying there. However, i find no excuse for the dirtiness we experienced in this hotel. For example, the sink was covered in cracks and needed replacing, the toilet leaked, mold covered the bathroom walls and ceiling, literally dozens of squashed mosquitos on walls and ceilings throughout bedroom, wall paper was stained and tatered, maybe most concerning of all was electric sockets not even attached to wall exposing the wiring behind. I had booked the hotel last-minute on Venere and apperently the hotel was booked. So, instead of telling me the bad news that I'd have to find another place after I'd arrived, they booked me a room at another hotel which was lovely. I really liked my room and the location and the people. The only thing is that it was really small. But, I just stayed in a hotel in Rome that was a larger room but not nearly as nice. So I'd say I would prefer the smaller room with better quality.

Window of the room was leaking, the toilet was leaking on the floor, the bed was too tin and too soft, the walls are as tin as paper, they started to clean the room over us at 6:30 AM with the vacuum cleaner, moistures in the shower, TV wasn't working, but the coffee was good ! It's OK for one night, don't spend the week there. Venise is expensive, but it's Venise...

I was travelling alone and staying in one of the (two?) bedrooms without bath. The bath was outside and shared I believe with one other room. This was fine, as the bathroom was always available when needed, and the hallway outside my room was empty. The staff was friendly, helpful and spoke French, English, Spanish, possibly Hebrew, and I'm sure Italian. I was unable to get the TV in the room working or find the remote control, but I didn't come to Venice to watch TV. Breakfast was Italian. Fine but nothing outstanding. (As a French person I have a biais for French bread, croissants, etc. and find Italian bread disappointing). I love Italy though, and Venice was a superb experience.

The location is just OK. Very close to the train station and close to interesting sites i Venice, like the Ghetto. But the quality of the room is not satisfactory. There is a problem with the noise coming in the room. You can hear the people walking past your window, and the people in the other rooms. Also the breakfast is not satisfactory when you think about the price you pay per night.

I had a very nice stay since I was a bit worried because of old comments. Great location and pretty cheap hotel, near the train station, vapporetti, and not so far from the Rialto. The weather was cold and rainy so I had no mosquitos. Anyway there is a kit in the room. The staff was very nice, the room had air conditioned and was just in front of a restaurant but it wasn't so bad. To me, the only bad side is the breakfast. For a 2 stars hotel and the price, it should be bigger with a buffet with cereals, ham and cheese.

The Hotel Leonardo is located within easy walking distance from the central train station so getting there with roll-along luggage was simple. It's close to a vaporetto stop and many of the sights you'll want to see in Venice are well within walking distance. At check-in, we were given a map of the city and some tips & suggestions about visiting Venice. Our room overlooked the garden of the restaurant next door so there was noise 'til it closed ... then it was quiet. I suspect that rooms on the other side of the hotel were bothered less by the restaurant crowd. Hotel Leonardo was friendly, clean & comfortable. I'll certainly stay there again.

Very good 2 star hotel, spacious and clean rooms. Good location. The gentleman that works at night doesn't speak English, but the staff during the day speaks excellent English and were very helpful and nice. The hotel was a little noise sometimes and the rooms have mosquitos (take a mosquito spray if you don't want to run around trying to smash them). Overall we vey happy with the accomodations.

Our stay at the Leonardo hotel in Venice was very comfortable. The hotel had staff was very friendly, even though their english was not very good. The only problem was, that the walls were very thin and we were able to hear the neighbors whenever they were moving around in the hallway. The hotel was very close to the central-station, which made it very easy for us to get to the hotel by foot. Venere's service was excellent, it was really an easy way to book a hotel and next time we'll need something we'll come back to Venere.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was very comfortable, as was the bed. The staff was always very friendly. I was a single traveler and always felt comfortable being there. The offered breakfast was not much-a roll with jam and coffee, and the written directions to the hotel were accurate but when I looked at how it was placed on the map it was confusing to me and I initially couldn't figure out which directions were more correct. The drawing on the map actually makes it appear as though it is situated further back, down one or two more streets, but its actually just off the main thoroughfare. This is just a suggestion to correct that but my stay at the hotel was very enjoyable. I would definately reccommend this place to others and would stay again myself. Much much too expensive for such a mall room. Breakfast very limited. Shower in bathroom not separated from toilets ! (so water everywhere after !)

The area where the hotel is situated would be ideal except that the rooms face the garden of a restaurant, which got quite noisy. The beds were a bit soft for our liking but not too bad. The map to find the hotel was too indistinct to be helpful. Some directions in words might have been better: it's in the last alleyway on the left off San Leonardo Street before you get to the little square where Calle Pistor starts (coming from the direction of the station.) And the nearest waterbus stop is San Marcuola.

I was very pleased with my stay at your hotel. You provided excellent value for money. The hotel is excellently located, only a short walk to the centre of town. I will be holding your details in case I return to Venice and will also be happy to give your details to any friends who are visiting your beautiful city.

BEDDING IS IN A VERY BAD CONDITION BREAKFAST IS REALY NOT ENOUGH FOR THE PRICE YOU PAY YOUR BEDROOM. EVEN IN A LOW RATE HOTEL IN FRANCE LIKE ETAPHOTEL (35 TO 40 Euros per nigth) YOU HAVE A SELF SERVICE BREAKFAST MUCH BETTER THAN IN THIS HOTEL

Esttuvimos una semana en el Hotel Leonardo, un hotel sencillo y pequeño en una callejuela muy bien situado (ghetto de Venecia), justo a la mitad del recorrido más turístico San Marcos-Estación. Así que cerca de todo, pero tranquilo. El personal era muy amable y atento. La limpieza de la habitación era a diario (menos el baño??). En general estuvimos contentos, visto lo visto de los hoteles en Venecia.

Only bad point. The cleaner walked in on my girlfriend and I in the morning. Luckily we were still asleep, although I imagine she thought we were not in the room anymore. She didn't knock to check. Otherwise, a pleasant stay in a nice part of Venice.
