Great 3 night stay here, only really used it as a base whilst heading around the city. Staff were really helpful, although the desk isn't always manned. Was a little bit noisy early in the morning as deliveries are taken right past one side of the hotel, but not much they can do about that! Nice area, close to the north western part of the main yellow tourist circuit, 15 mins walk to Rialto, about 25 to St Mark's, close to vaparetto stop with good services going both ways along grand canal, also not too far to walk for vaparettos to Murano. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

I cannot say enough about Lorenzo or the hotel. It is the most quaint and real hotel I've seen in years - and I spent 14 years IN the hotel business with Westin and Hyatt. It opens from a courtyard that is a real neighborhood. You are surrounded by real Venetians and their families. It is close to everything yet quiet and off the beaten track. I highly recommend. We had three rooms, two couples and three children over 18. Everything was great.

Very difficult find but that is usual for Venice. The odd thing was that even the locals who we asked for help didn't know the Hotel Henry or understand the directions. It took about 1 hour and we would have asked at least 6 locals for directions before we finally found it. Lorenzo was good although there was no-one on reception when we arrived and it was another guest who pointed out a tiny sign behind reception that advised there would be no-one there before 9. But, apart from that all was good.

No brreakfast at the hotel but it's really good since many bars outside and the hotel machine propose excellent coffee capuccino and so on.. Bakery and shopping very near and good restaurants too.

This was my second stay at this hotel and the hotel staff remembered me from last year. Finding a hotel with good fast free internet in Europe is not easy but this hotel offers this. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms look beautiful and are cleaned daily. The hotel is almost in the middle of the main strip length but separated enough to make the evenings quite in the room. I will be back to this hotel many more times. 10+ ratings last year and this year.

Our bed was broken and we complained three times and asked for a replacement of the matress or another room. The comment we received was "You are a big lady, maybe you broke the bed!". We asked for an additional pillow and did not receive one. They gave us two additional towel to serve as a spare pillow. Since we could not sleep due to the condition the bed was in, we left the hotel and did not spend another night at this location. Further, the place is very loud, even compared to Venice standards.

In all the Hotel Henry is surely worth the price with combination of its location and Hotel Staff (Lorenz was very helpful). Only thing we did not like was: 1. the double bed is too small for 2 2. TOILET AND ROOM WAS NOT CLEANED AT ALL DURING OUR STAY FOR 3 NIGHTS. 3. Wifi signal didn't reach our room.

We made two room reservations, for us and for our friends. The rooms were very different! The rooms in the pictures on the website are a little nicer, but overall we were satsified. The night clerk was extremely accomodating and friendly, and was very kind when we locked ourselves out of our room late at night. The neighborhood felt very safe, and the reception area opens onto a very quiet piazza with a couple of tables and chairs for guests to relax. Overall, we were very happy with our stay.

We had a terrible experience at this hotel. While we requested a lower floor due to physical difficulties, we were put in the attic on the fourth floor with no lift. The office was not always open, especially in the evenings when we returned. The second night the air conditioner did not work and it was sweltering. Leaving the windows open invited the mosquitoes in. There was construction in a corner of the courtyard that seemed to go on for hours. When I made the male receptionist aware of this the next morning he admonished me for not calling him and waved his cell phone at me. Throughout our stay he remained arrogant, flippant and condescending. Customer service was missing and he did not seem to care if we were pleased with the experience or not.

Hotel Henry was a great stay. The room was very, very small, but we were there only one night so it wasn't much of an issue for us. Plus, Venice only has so much room overall, so the space was understandable. The man running the hotel that day was very helpful. The only problem we had was when we arrived, there was no one to let us in but for an Australian couple who had been sitting in the lobby (which is tiny) waiting for the manager themselves. When they let us in, we all sat for another 15 minutes until he finally arrived. Apparently he was the only one working that night and had to help another guest with something, I'm not sure what. When he did arrive, the service was excellent and as courteous as one would hope! After we checked out the next morning, we left our luggage so we could see Venice before leaving. When we came back, the lady behind the desk was not very kind about showing us where we could retrieve our luggage. But the location was great and overall a wonderful stay. Just keep in mind, most of the rooms are not very big. So probably best to keep it at one or two guests.

Great find! While hotel is further from main attractions, we booked due to proximity to train station (very early am train). It was a short walk to train and also to vaporetto, which mitigates the location. Staff was very pleasant. They put upgraded us to the matrimony room (we reserved a double) which was very generous. Rooms are clean, air conditioned and a great value for Venice where hotels are typically much more expensive. Highly recommended!

Hotel Henry was a nice small hotel. Lorenzo could not have been nicer and was very helpful in all areas. The room was small and a bit pricey, but from my research, it was very competitive for Venice in June. Location was great -- 10 minutes from train station and at most, 5 minutes to the Vaporetto stop. Lots to do in the neighborhood, but MAKE SURE YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHERE THE HOTEL IS LOCATED. It's a couple of turns off the main stretch and can be hard to find, but that made it a bit more special and quiet. We would stay there again.

Hotel Henry was very clean but very old - the photos in the brochure must have been taken in 1970 and they have changed nothing since. The bathroom was fine but the bed was really quite old - clean sheets and bedding but the mattress was hilly. Overall it was okay and a good location but definitely outdated. It was basically a place to sleep at night not hang out. We really liked the staff at the front desk and as I said it was very clean just old.

location was excellent regarding proximity to station for convenience. the city was spread nicely below for thorough and extensive exploration. the staff and service were unobtrusive and genuine, which was much appreciated. steer clear of the very accessible restaurants, generally not the best food, and look for the ones with mostly locals socialising. one called Timon, close the hotel across the closest canal just to the left, was superb.

This is a very nice hotel in the old Jewish Ghetto which is a very interesting part of Venice. The hotel is easily accessible from the train station (10 minutes). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was in a separate part of the hotel (across from the reception) and on the very top floor. This room was only accessible by stairs (quite a few)and was very noisy when the adjacent room was occupied. We would happily stay there again but only in the other section of the hotel which was less noisy and lower down.

What a great find! Hotel Henry was not far from the train station and walking there was easy enough as there was much to see with the the Church of Santa Maria Nazareth right next door to the train station. The Hotel is in the Jewish Ghetto area which is very colorful. Bring plenty of film as each corner has a picture worthy scene. Everyone is so friendly and takes time to answer questions. Don't miss the fruit and vegetable market! The people at the Hotel were very welcoming and helpful. Great bargain for Venice hotel. Rooms are typical of Europe - small and compact and efficient.

Pros - price, and location. Cons - staff, size of rooms. The hotel for July in Venice was adequate. The ability to not have to travel to the island by bus, train or boat is a plus. The hotel staff however left much to be desired. The staff was not rude, but they weren't really around much. When we went to check-in at around 10:00 pm (website says you can check-in until midnight) there was no one there so after a long day of traveling we had to wait for someone to show up. They never came into the rooms to clear out the trash can let alone change the linens, and this part didn't really bother us, but may bother others. When we went to check-out at around 9:00 am there was nobody there again, and we saw a few sets of keys and a note, people just left there keys on the counter, and we did the same. The room is tiny, and there are no amenities in the room, but for the time of year and price it was adequate for us. I would spend the extra euros to have a private bathroom if you can afford it.

We stayed 2 nights in Venice in this hotel. The first night, the room we booked was not available (overbooked), so they gave us a small appartment in another location that worked with the Aloggi Henry. That place was dirty (bathroom) the towels were dirty and old. So we asked to change the room. They gave us another small appartment a little bit cleaner. No discount for this, we had no choise to accept that. The 2nd night, we got our rooms tha we paid for. Here everything was ok.

Two very used and small standalone beds (diagonally), a small table with a chair (but no place to use it) and a small cupboard. No place to open the bag. The small bathroom with mouldy walls was at the end of th corridor, but we had it only for us. No staff at the reception! But it should open till 9 pm! Good location, good bed and shower room (with hair dryer, though it gave up on me). Didn't try the coffee machine but saw that it did work. Expect a wait if you try to get hold of the person in charge between 8 and 9 p.m. (supper time!) and probably at lunch time too. Outside the door it says "please ring" but we couldn't find the bell, and if the person in charge isn't there (see above) he wouldn't hear it anyway, so make sure you have the phone number.

We found this hotel to be in a lovely area, with lots of restaurants and shops about a 5min walk away. No problems walking around the streets late at night, never felt unsafe. The man who checked us in was very welcoming throughout our stay. The room was on the smaller side but we were only in there for sleeping so meet our needs

Tenint en compte els preus (que és car) prou bé. El tracte cordial i amable, l'habitació petita però tranquil·la i força neta. Tot plegat res de l'altre món. Tot i així, com he dit, sabent els preus que es mouen, hi tornaria.

Very welcoming and helpful staff, but very hard to find, no sign, lucky we arrived in daylight! - a general problem in Venice I gather. Twin room was good, polished floor, shower cubicle TINY, but bathroom nice otherwise. Would stay again.

Hotel located in a quiet location, but close from main street. We did not hear noise from the street, but the room was close to the reception, which makes it noisy in the morning, or at late arrival of customers. We booked a 4 beds room, which was quite small for 4 persons.

I stayed here just one night. The place is very basic, and inexpensive. The room was small, a bit stuffy, and had a bathroom down the hall. I was unsure where my towels were, as they were not in the room. I used the ones hanging up, which looked unused, especially at 4am. Sorry if you stayed here the same night and got wet towels! My room had a fan in stashed in the closet, which was needed, and a single electrical outlet, which was not securely attached to the wall. Plugging in a phone charger required some balancing so the wires didn't hang out. Despite the issues, I felt like I got what I paid for. I didn't spend much time in the room, and the sleeping facilities were adequate.

The room we stayed in was next to the desk which made it very noisey. The room had only ovehead lighting with no bed side lighting. It would have been nice to have a light breakfast for the cost (coffee and rolls or yogurt). The room was clean and the people at the desk were frinedly.

We had an OK stay at this "hotel". The directions given to use were excellent and quickly reached from the station. We found the room to be very noisy in the morning with "building" going on outside starting at about 6am. The place is within walking distance which we did as we found the water taxis too expensive and very crowded. Would probably not stay there again although we did enjoy Venice.

The hotel is very close to the train station. Decent room and bathroom. The location is close to some great shopping which is cheaper than shops near the Rialto Bridge for example. Little tricky to find it exactly since it is around the corner down an alley. Food is also very good around here.

+ Very nice hotel with pleasant and helpful staff. + Even though being next to the busy street, hotel and its surrounding is very quiet. - We didn't get our own bathroom, although we paid for it. It didn't matter though, because there were only two rooms on the floor. - We missed a fridge.

Why do you call "Alloggi Henry" a hotel? It is a cheap Italian brothel run by two whores (one by the name Dina, the other is unknown) and two pimps (one is named Lorenzo, the other refused even to introduce himself). The staff was extremely rude and incompetent and not supportive at all. The A/C, TV set were not functional; rooms were extremely small and hot. I understand that Italian economy is in decline (it is a polite way of saying that it is in deep shit), but you should not think that you can screw your customers and "blame" them for your problems. Venere.com - never again use this site to make bookings! Information about the hotel provided on the website was utterly wrong, except for the proximity to the railroad station. The place is located in a small smelly corner of Venice, which is not as quiet as advertized. Despite all of that, Venice (but not the venicians) is beautiful!

Fair value for Venice, I suppose. The bathroom was a bit smelly and the room was small. Out-of-the-way location. But I didn't expect 5 stars for this price. I might return there if going back to Venice.

great area to be in away from the crowds and enforced use of vaporetti which are very efficient and a great way to see venice. Hunted down good local restaurants. No frills and spills but you get what you pay for. We will be recommending to friends.

The hotel is in a wonderful location and the owner is really friendly. The price is probably a bit high, but i think you'll find that everywhere in venice. We had the smallest room and he offered to change us after the first night, but we stayed. It was very clean.

Lovely hotel worth much more than just 1 star, we believe this is because it doesn't offer breakfast. However there are numerous cafes and bakeries sorrounding to pick somethiing up in the mroning. Also vending machines in hall to get tea, coffees, snacks and beer all very cheap. It was very easy to find and is well located within walking distance of the main sites. We stayed for 3 nights and it was perfect, very clean and staff were helpful and friendly. We would definatly recomend to friends and family and would go back there if in Venice again.
