Have stayed in Venice on three occasions now and this was the best hotel so far. Located close to transport hubs, generous breakfasts, clean and well maintained. Would have welcomed a kettle and tea cups in the room although there is a drinks machine for which you have to pay in the lobby. Also I invariably get bitten by mosquitoes whenever I visit and would recommend a very thorough sweep of the room before going to bed. I did, but they still got me.

I stayed here as a middle-aged, solo female traveller for one night. My room was no frills (no TV in room), but clean, safe and located close to the bus and train stations, many shops. I would stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights prior to boarding our cruise. Excellent location. Very pleased with the service and our room was great for the price that we paid. Breakfast was good and the hotel staff were very helpful. Not a luxurious hotel but very quaint and definitely exceeded our expectations. Would definitely return to this hotel.

Comfortable and quiet, especially given its mega-touristy location, which I wanted because of its proximity to the bus and cruise ship terminals (schlepping luggage isn't as easy at 57 as it used to be). Great breakfast, much more extensive actually than advertised. Friendly. helpful, multilingual staff. Pretty, albeit tiny, room, not unexpected since it's Venice and very reasonably priced. My only complaint is that the shared bathroom on our floor (2nd) had only a toilet and sink; the shared bathroom on the 3rd had the shower and bidet. Overall a very good experience.

Hotel is close to railway station( 5 mins ) and the Piazzale Roma (10 mins)for airport shuttles and beside Grand canal for vaporretos, v.good. Hotel staff friendly and helpful, everything very clean, good breakfast, all over, ideal for short stay in Venice. The nearby street has plenty of reasonable pizzerias and restaurants all at affordable prices.

The best thing this hotel has going for it is the closeness to the train station. The rooms are bare bone with no TV. The wifi does not work in the rooms. I was charged for a night when I could not get to Venice because the trains were shutdown due to a station fire. The breakfast matched the rooms--bare bone. It was one of my poorer rooms on our two month trip.

Guerrini is in a good location near the train station and waterbus stops. The room we stayed in was on the first floor across the street from the office which was a little unsettling. We didn't spend much time in the room, however it suited our needs.

We stayed three nights. We had a small problem in the bathroom because the water from the shower came up again through the zink on the floor. We had to improvise with towels to controll the water.

In general, this hotel is OK. Although the room is quite small, it's OK for a budget traveller. But the quietness of rooms is kind of a problem. If you live near the stairs, you could probably be bothered until late night. And sometimes, you could even hear the talking and laughing from your neighbors. The breakfast buffet is simple and always the same. And don't expect smile and warm welcome from the service counter. They seldom say "hi" to you when you come or go.(It's quite different from France) Anyway, if budget is quite important, it's OK. We don't expect too much, right?

Hotel was easy to find and was suitable for us as a stop over before we moved by vaporetto to next hotel in San Marco the next day. This was to avoid the initial hassles of transport and crossing bridges in a crowded situation. We were arriving from Lake Como after 2 pm. Room was comfortable and clean. Manager was friendly and breakfast was good. From here, you can visit the Jewish Ghetto and cover the San Croce area. We met a British couple on their 5th visit and somehow we got on after crossing paths 4-5 times. They kindly and generously invited us over to their apartment for dinner overlooking the piazza near the Rialto. Thanks Derek and Helena for a very pleasant evening. You were great company. The next day, we had a torrential downpour as we made our way to the next hotel. That's life. We enjoyed it.

I feel that I am qualified to know about staying in Venice since I have been there on several vacations over the last 10 years. That being said, after a last minute travel plan we decided to book this hotel. Due to budget constraints we chose this hotel based on two things: price and location. If you have ever been to Venice you know that besides it's exceptional beauty it has an abundance of bridges and steps. We had no desire to lug our bags up and down steps while fighting crowds to get to our hotel. This hotel is situated a few paces from the train station. It's down a little alley way so make sure you are aware of that. I do not like this section of Venice because its overly congested with tourists and tacky shops but you can't beat the location near the train or the price. Another note, Venice is one of the most expensive cities in Italy. The benefits of this place are the price and the location and the breakfast which is very nice. The down side the room size and busy street. I would recommend another hotel but there really aren't a lot that are affordable and that are listed on Venere. Here are some travel tips when visiting Venice: Consider visiting and staying in Verona. Its a great city and the we wished we had booked there too. I also recommend eating at a place called Osteria Nono Ristorto. The food , ambiance and location are a dream. It's not a tourist trap but more for the locals and a good Venetian friend of mine introduced me to it a few years ago and I highly recommend it. Lats but not least wear insect repellent always after 4pm in Venice. Lots of mosquitoes no matter where you go. Happy travels. Ciao

Room clean and comfortable - nice hot shower and towel warmer! Great location - close to train station and Rialto Bridge. Great restaurants, eateries and shopping steps outside the door. Lack of elevator was rough upon arrival with heavy bags, but that was well documented in reviews so no surprises. Breakfast did not include a huge variety of things, but was definitely adequate and service excellent.

Rooms were large, but there's little in the way of common area. No television in the room. The building seemed old and in need of repair. Furniture was old and seemed a bit dirty. Could hear my neighbors in the next room. The hotel is near the train station. Next time I'll spend a bit more money and stay somewhere else.

Good points: very easy to reach from ryaniar shuttle bus station and central station. And very close to all ferries to any part of Venice. Very nice and warm-hearted clerks at the reception. Many restaurants around providing more meal choices. Bad points: "Breakfast is nothing", I had got this information before I arrived there. So, I had breakfast outside on the first day. But, to see what was nothing, I tried the hotel breakfast the second day. Except the hot chocolate, it's really nothing. I had to have another breakfast outside. Shower water was too cool, almost no hot water at all. The extra blanket in wardrobe was smelly. I had to just use it folded to half bed. Thanks for the hot heating system, I did not feel cold and humid at night as I had expected. Overall: not so bad for single travellers, esp. those by ryanair or those with many lugguages from central station.

I stayed in the new annex to the hotel and therefore can only comment on that part of the property. I was met by a man that spoke excellent English and showed me to my room. I had room 11 on the ground floor. The hotel is,as described, down a side alley that is quiet. My room had new furniture, all very pretty and was very clean. It was a single room but had 2 single beds. The bathroom was small but clean, bright and perfectly adequate. I stayed in October 07 and was worried about the mosquitoes but I only got 4 bites in total! The room was perfectly comfortable with high ceilings and a comfy bed. The only 'complaint' I had is that the walls are paper thin....you can hear EVERYTHING from the surrounding rooms. Toilets flushing, taps running, conversations. Take some ear plugs! Breakfast is a complete non-event so I wouldn't even bother....seriously! Croissant in a bag? Crispbread? Just walk out of the alleyway the hotel is down and there are SO many nice little cafes to choose from. The hotel is literally 5 mins slow walk from the station and very easy to find. There is a water bus stop even closer too. It takes up to 30mins to walk to St Mark's Square but in all honesty, it's a lovely walk. The bus station is right around the corner too so those flying with Ryanair, you can get the direct bus to Treviso airport from there...easy. It was much nicer than I expected for the price and if it wasn't for the noise aspect (which in all honesty, didn't really bother me as such) it would have been perfect. If you can get it at a reasonable price, take it.

Venezia is a city that is in general overpriced. The train station and vaparetto stop were very close by. There are shops and trattorias within easy walking distance. I was able to walk easily to all the major attractions. Piazza San Marco and the Rialto are all within pretty easy walking distance. There is lots to see and do along the way. Trattorias and Ristaurantes flank the walk along the way. It is a great walk and then you can take the vaparetto back to the train station when you get done.

Quiet, well situated in a dead end, half an hour walking from San Marco. A lot of restaurants and shops in the immediate vicinity. 10 minutes from the bus stop (convenient if you have heavy luggage). Comfort of the room is basic but sufficient (room is clean, bed is good, water is warm). It is expensive but price/quality is good for the specific case of Venice.

A quiet attractive hotel in an interesting location off a busy street. Handy for local facilities and vaporetti. Our case had gone missing on the flight, and though the staff were courteous and interested, there was little in the way of hotel provision e.g toiletries to help us out. We had asked for a ground floor room because of disability, and this was provided. In all, a clean, basic simple hotel, reasonable value in a very expensive city.

We needed a room in Venice as a last minute decision. For the price and time booked, the accomodation was okay. Most places in Venice are quite costly. The location (very near the train station and near many restaurants and shops) is very convenient. THe room was clean but there was definitely a musky smell, primarily in the bathroom. We were not informed that breakfast was included so thus did not take advantage of whatever they had to offer.

This room was very clean and centrally located near the train station. Of all the places we stayed in Europe, it was probably the lowest quality as far as looks--very plain--no decorations. Beds were comfortable, but the shower was very small--I would not recommend anyone over 200 lbs. The workers did not speak English and did not provide much help with the area--but were courteous and got up at 5:30am for an early train departure. No TV.

Aside from the joy of having to drag heavy bags upstairs, and the cat-sized mosquitos squished on the walls of the room, Guerrini was a pleasant place to stay, and very convenient to the train station and water bus pontoon, as well as shops and restaurants - quite a lively area. The hosts had thoughtfully provided a can of Baygon so we didn't have to become victim to the Mozzies as previous occupants had clearly done (there was quite a lot of blood). They were also very helpful in making suggestions.
