one of the worst experiences. Toilet dripping, TINY room, VERY poor soundproof, extremely unfriendly stuff. Location is the only good thing going for it.

Excellent Location very central within easy walking distance of anywhere in Venice

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It's really ideal - it's right next to the Ponte Rialto. I was very happy that a water taxi stop was just steps away (very convenient when trying to lug your bags through busy Venice). It's extremely close to Piazza San Marco. They offered a decent continental breakfast. The rooms are a little older (furnishings, etc), but comfortable and roomy.

Pleasant stay with helpful staff. Hotel is located close to Rialto "boat stop" which made transfers a breeze. We found the breakfast pleasant and adequate.

Good location. Tiny room. Noisy air con.

The rooms were quite small, but overall the hotel was clean and the staff friendly. Biggest issue is that the hotel doesn't have a lift. Staying on the top floor meant a long flight of stairs.

The rooms and bathroom are very small. Our shower sprayed the entire bathroom every day. The breakfast was only so-so.

It's a quaint little hotel, the location couldn't be better. The room was smaller than I believed from the photographs. It also had a double bed, although we explicitly requested, and were promised, twin beds (I travelled with my teenage daughter). The breakfast room was rather small and so full on some mornings that one had to come back later or eat elsewhere. The selection and the quality of breakfast foods were not particularly good. There is no elevator, so we had to carry our suitcases (small ones, fortunately) up a narrow sraircase to our room on the fourth floor, with no help offered from the hotel staff. Also, the description in the internet mentions a reading and writing room, but we didn't see anything in the hotel that would fit that description. Having said all this, overall I found Graspo de Ua a very acceptable accomodation at a good price (for Venice), and in a perfect location.

Great location, room small, but very 'cute'. Breakfast staff - stressed!

The place is well located and clean... it's probably the only good points. Employees seem to be there only to take your money when you leave. No help, not welcoming... they seemed to be tired of tourists coming and leaving...not really a good thing when work in an hotel in Venice. At all moment, it looked like you were disturbing. If I would have to go back in Venice, I would pay a little bit more just to have a welcoming service.

The hotel would have been difficult to find but we had a map for the address from a different internet site. We had a large lovely room but we had been upgraded as they had forgotten to put us in a twin rather than a double and we were in the annexe which had a lift. Some staff were friendly but most were completely charmless and unhelpful. The breakfasts are awful - eat over the bridge in the sunshine. The public areas smelt of cigarette smoke. The nights would have been completely peaceful but for a nearby dog which whined and barked all night. The location is superb.

The hotel was located in an extremely favorable spot, right near the Rialto Bridge and the vaporetti stop on the Grand Canal. Walking distances to all major sights was reasonable. The rooms were as advertised and were well kept. The continental breakfast that came with the room was nice. There was always a sufficient quantity and diversity of foods available and the staff worked to keep the area clean and hospitable. The price of the room was as advertised and was, in my opinion, a bargain.

I was dissapointed with the hotel. I think the web site did not truly reflect the state of the property. The room needed to be updated. The noise level was loud. The stairs were right outside our door. The breakfast was not very appealing. Most places offered fresh fruit. We were served fruit coctail here. My wife and I spent three weeks on vacation in Italy, France, Germany and Switzerland and this was by far our worst experience. If the rooms were to be updated and the breakfast more appealing, I would recommend the hotel due to the location.

A great base for exploring Venice at only a few paces from Rialto Bridge, with clean rooms and functional air conditioning. You can't really go wrong with this one.

This hotel is ok (great location right beside Rialto), but I would advise you to request a room near the ground floor; we were at the top of the house and, believe me, it is not easy to climb at least 6 flights of stairs to reach room no. 32 when the temp is 35C. On the plus side, our room did have a terrace, however the air-conditioning unit was not actually in the bedroom (the room had a strange layout) which made for some uncomfortable nights. Breakfast was adequate, although we were asked to finish up as soon as 10am passed, which we found a bit strange.

The staff was not helpful. I ask if I could book a water bus to the airport. I was told it had to be at least two people. That's fine. But they didn't offer any alternatives. I was able to get info from the Venice Tourist Info that I could get the water bus at St.Marc Sq. The bathroom was adequate, considered the price equation. However, the shower curtain had mildrew. The room was not clean. The breakfast room was not organised. Quality of food was below average. The first morning I was there, all the tables were not cleared after the first sitting. I had to clear one so I could have a seating. I didn't use that service the following mornings. The air-conditioning was not working properly during the beginning of my stay. It died on my last night. I reported the situation to the front desk but they were not able to fix it. I asked for a fan since it was a hot day in Venice. As expected from my previous experience, the staff was not helpful. I actually spent some time down at the tiny lobby area to cool off since there was air-conditioning there. I had touble sleeping that night since it was hot. I had to open the window and a little concern that the pigeons nesting across the window may pay a visit. I would expect that the hotel should have given a reduced rate on the last night of my stay since I was not getting the full value of my stay. They should fix the front door. It scraps the floor. It looks it has been like that since they have the last rennovation. Overall, they don't show they care about their business. Too bad, the location is great. I will not recommend this hotel.

The night staff during check-in was very helpful, but the day staff was rude. The electricity went off several times especially on the top floor where it seems Venere guests usually end up. When the electricity would flutter, the air conditioner would go off and would not come back on until manually restarted. If the electricity went off while you were out for the day, you would return to a VERY hot room. The location is excellent and on a very quiet back street just 100 meters or so from the Rialto bridge. The room was small but clean.

The room was very small, towels, soap, everything was a problem, but the bigest dissapointment was, that no one was cleaning the room for 3 days we stayed there, they only changed the towels -- nothing else. But Venice was so great and we didn't want to spoil our vacation at the end of whole trip...

We found the accomodations to be totally satisfactory. We had a triple with three adults and at first glance it was a little tight compared to US hotels/motels. The eight flights of stairs without the benifit of a lift would make it a little difficult for anyone with phyiscal problems. There were "resting" areas located between floors which my wife and I did take advantage of. With that said, the overall quality of the hotel, the staff and the services made our stay of four nights a totally enjoyable one. The breakfast was more than adaquate, the in room wet bar was well stocked and reasonably priced. The air condition worked fine and the private bath a definite luxury. The location was ideal for us as first time visitors to Venice. Just a few moments from the Grand Canal by the Rialto and about 6 minutes or so walk from St Marks Square. Definitely recommend!

There is no lift. That is too bad, because I lived in the 5th floor.

The hotel's location is excellent. The price is also great for the location I guess. The shower is bad because the water comes out but otherwise the hotel is a good stay. It has no elevators , so if you are old or have knee problems then try to get a room on the ground floor. the stairs are too steep.

The double rooms are only slightly bigger than the bed in them! How this hotel got any stars I do not know, also make sure you are not on the top floor as the stairs are very steep and longer than the given number of floors as you end up in effectively the attic.

Brochure said full bathroom and shower. But a bath in sight. At first I thought that at 135 Euro per night that this tiny room was very bad value for money but once I realised how overpriced Venice was I realised that it may not have been so bad value afterall.

This hotel is a bit challenging to find at first, but if you keep a good lookout, you'll see the signs pointing the way. My room was very loud; I could hear everything going on at the reception. Breakfast was great with fantastic coffee, the room was small but very clean, the location for my first visit to Venice was perfect, and the staff was friendly and professional.

We had ordered a room with two twin beds and got a double bed. There was no elevator, and we stayed on the 3rd floor. Luggage was difficult to manuever. The location of the hotel was good and the room was clean, but VERY small.

You can't beat the location of this hotel for the price. Steps from the Rialto bridge and a beautiful 5 minute walk to Piazza San Marco. The staff was great and very helpful. The only drawback was the lack of an elevator. We stayed on the top floor and after a day of walking throughout the city, it was quite a climb. Other than that I would totally recommend the Graspo de Ua and will stay there again.

The hotel, was hidden away down a side passagway but was easy to find. Typical small rooms as expected from a 3 star in Venice. Reception very friendly and informative. Sevice very good with clean laundry every day.No lift, so would not reccommend to the elderly. Very pleasant stay and would reccommend to friends as a good base to explore Venice, close the the Rialto so easy to get too.

Good fun finding Graspo! OK once property numbering understood. Great location for first Venice visit. Easy walking waterbussing to locations both sides Grand Canal. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Public space in hotel limited, but of no matter to guests going sight seeing. General comment: all Venetians we met were welcoming and friendly - a charming people.
