Excellent location, breakfast could have been better. Small rooms. Staff was helpful. Would stay there again.

Not once did the staff acknowledge us, even when handing over our room key. The breakfast room was far too small for the number of tables/diners, it was like eating in a cupboard crmmed full of people! Bathroom was not very clean, the shower door was selotaped the tiles had dirty grouting. The carpet on the stairs was split and boardering on threadbare. For the price we paid it has to be the worse 'value for money' hotel we have stayed in.

Location is great, close to historical sites and shopping. Everything was fine and if need be I would stay again but next time I will probably try to find something else if possible. There was a strange smell to the hotel, it might have just been due to the age and it wasn't so bad that it was a problem. The staff was helpful although we did get bad advice that Murano was great at night, actually better than during the day, when we got to the island almost everything was closed. Overall it was fine.

Nuestra ducha no tenía plato, por lo que el cuarto de baño se inundaba cada vez que nos duchabamos. Por lo demas, todo muy bien, excepto el personal que era especialmente simpático.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Hotel Gorizia. The breakfast area was always welcoming especially with the music by Vivaldi on the stereo system. The selection of breakfast foods was plentiful. I have to say that our room looked exactly like the picture on the website which was a pleasant surprise. The location and proximity to St. Mark's Square and to the Rialto stop on the Grand Canal are the selling points of this hotel. I loved every minute in Venice, it is an amazing city.

This hotel was a value at 125 Euro double in high season in July, being about 5 minutes walk to Piazza San Marco, and about an equal walk in the opposite direction to Ponte Rialto. (Follow the directions in previous posts to get here from the Rialto vaporetto stop). The breakfast was decent, with cold cuts, rolls, coffee, yogurt and juice (some cereal would be a nice addition). The room was really plain, not any decor, but we didn't spend any time there except to shower and sleep. AC worked fine. My only complaint would be that the hotel could clean the rooms a little more thoroughly. Our showerhead was pretty gross! Dust and mold were starting to build in our bathroom. Other than that, if you are looking for a deal close to St. Marks, this hotel is a decent option.

Very nice accomodations - Beautiful room. There really wasn't a view to speak of, but the location was quite convenient, close both to Piazza San Marco as well as Rialto (much closer to the former, though). Breakfast was good (nothing hot - mainly rolls and breads), but be aware that ordering any type of coffee or other beverage that isn't in the Thermoses on the breakfast table results in additional charges (not well spelled out - verbally or in writing). We had a room for 4 (two adults and two teen-age boys). Although we thought we had requested a type of room that had been previously described by another traveler (two rooms separated by a small hallway), apparently we didn't. In case it comes up again, the proper term (I think) for this type of room is "due camere doppie comunicante". Anyway, overall an excellent choice of hotel.

The hotel is 2mn walk from the San Marco plazza and is located in a nice area.

A good hotel! Excellent location. Staff is nice except for the big fat guy who checked us in in the morning. Impatient and sarcastic. We were not well treated. But then, as he left everyone was nice. The breakfast was good, but, for the price of the room, should be much better.

A great hotel, smack in the center of Venice at a town where "value for money" is an unknown word. The positive side is the very location of the hotel, polite personnel, nice (by Italian standards) breakfast and cleanliness of the property. The downside is that if you open windows there is quite a bit of noise and I cannot imagine what it is like in the summer with windows open (we were there in October 05). Also I was a bit peeved to the fact that the bathtub was clogged and that I asked them to take care of the problem and nothing happened for the four days I was there and the fact that there was no heating or a/c in October (as a matter of fact a/c was needed!). Otherwise, it is highly recommended to the price conscious, value for money, a step up from "let's Go" guide, traveler. 3 out of 4 stars.
