Hotel Giorgione - Venice

Nice and quiet hotel. Sentral location. Friendly and helpfull staff. Bar was closed during our stay, but there was a self service bar in the lobby. Breakfast was simple, but ok. We had a great stay.

very nice hotel, least good feature is breakfast which is disappointing for such a good hotel: coffee instant, fruit juices poor, lets them down.

Never checked the web page. Cannot answer those questions. Love this hotel and it's location. Spotless. Desk personnel fantastic. Problems: no hot water for shower after 9 pm, wifi only in bar area, no easy public transportation to get to airport for early flights.

Fantastic hotel, beautifully decorated throughout room, lounge area etc. Great start to the day eating breakfast outside in the courtyard Staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Helped to make the long weekend even better

Beautiful and charming hotel nicely decorated and located in a quiet part of Venice but very close to touristic places. The staff is competent and very welcoming. If some rooms are a bit small, they are nice and very romantic. The breakfast in the court yard is a real pleasure. The restaurant nearby is delicious with a nice staff too and there are many good restaurants in the area. This hotel is to be recommended but... only to initiated tourists !

As it seems to be common in Italy, they first gave us a 2-single-bed double room, which is not acceptable in case of a semi honey moon. On the second night, the manager upgraded us for a Suite, which was really nice and I considered myself completely compensated for the previous bad sleeping night. Hotel is walking distance from Plaza San Marco. In some sense, we liked the rococo style. It is a good value for the money, since Venice is really expensive. I would not say that if it was the twin room.

It is quite expensive, but not out of line for Venice. The lack of an internal restaurant is a pity, but there are several reasonably-priced ones nearby. The staff are very welcoming and proficient, we would gladly go back again.

Have stayed at this hotel before - Reception staff wonderful, air conditioning invaluable! Only about 5 mins brisk walk from Rialto bridge but nice to come back to the quietness. highly recommended.

On my first trip to Italy, I was quite relieved to find that the reception staff both spoke excellent English and were quite helpful. The hotel itself is nice, with the necessary air conditioning for the Venetian weather, with ornate fixtures. It is a good hotel, as hotels go, but this one has an excellent location.

EXCELLENT CHARMING HOTEL IDEAL FOR LOVERS LOOKING FOR ROMANTIC STAY. WE CHOSE A SUPERIOR ROOM FOR 2 PERSONS, AND WE WERE UPGRADED TO A SUITE FOR SAME PRICE. WE WERE ALSO OFFERED A BOTTLE OF SPARLING WHITE WINE FOR MY WIFE'S BIRTHDAY (WITHOUT INFORMING THE HOTEL STAFF BEFOREHAND). HIGHLY APPRECIATED. HOTEL IS NOT CHEAP BUT IS WORTH THE PRICE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN UNFORGETTABLE STAY WITH YOUR WIFE IN THE NICE VENICE AREA. ONE OF MY BEST HOTEL EXPERIENCE, EVER.

This was an excellent place to stay.I would stay there again & recommend it to any one. The buffet breakfast was teriffic & the dining area was beautiful. The staff spoke near perfect English. They even provided me with a take away breakfast, the morning I had to leave early. The location is excellent also. This hotel was one of the nicest I stayed at in Italy. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Giorgione. It was conveniently situated, not far from the Ca' d'Or waterbus stop. I had a single room which, though small, was bigger than many single rooms I have stayed in. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Our split level/loft type room was unexpected but quite enjoyable.

A comfortable, traditional hotel offering excellent levels of service. Conveniently situated for all major attractions and water bus routes. We would definitely stay here again.

We booked a superior deluxe double room and it actually had 2! bathrooms - which was great!!! The breakfast was very good, the room very spacious and the hotel personnel very accomodating. However, I didn't like the fact that they had wall-to-wall carpet - the room just doesn't feel clean!

The hotel Georgione was in an excellent location for exploring Venice. The staff were very courteous and helpful, generally the service was very good. However, there was only very limited internet access (from a phone booth next to the reception), and the overall appearance of the rooms was a little "jaded" and I do not really think it warrants a 4* rating. Although it was only March, we were bothered by mosquitos, perhaps some screens on the windows would be a good idea?

Nice place, nice staff, free tea coffee in the afternoon in winter garden.

We had a great stay at the Giorgione. The hotel is clean and very quite, our room was a superb 2 level room, made a nice change to have some space and a comfortable bed! The hotel is ideally situated just off the Grand Canal, and only a 10 minute walk to Piazza San Marco & Ponte Di Rialto. The staff were polite & very helpful.

We only stayed in Venice for a weekend but our stay at the Giorgione was magical! The room was beautiful and the service from the staff was excellent. We would recommend this hotel to friends who wanted somewhere special to stay whilst visiting venice. It was very easy to find after getting off the waterbus and a good central point to navigate back to after exploring the beautiful city... It was our first stay at the hotel and we would go back again.

A really nice hotel! My boyfriend and I stayed for a weekend during the Film Festival. The staff was very friendly and let us store our luggage for quite some time after we checked out.

lovable trip, very attractive location, the hotel is elegantly furnished. Personals are so kindly and pretty. Rooms are confortable and commodious. Tanks to venere for this occasion that permits us to find a great occasion in term of price/quality.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely courtyard to sit out in for breakfast and in the evenings for drinks.

Excellent hotel - exactly as described. Complimentary iced tea served during afternoon in secluded patio area. Lovely rooms + internet access & game of pool in lounge. Only problem you may have is finding the place - try the pdf map on this web site: http://www.hotelgiorgione.com/en/location.htm We took a water bus to Fondemente Nuove but had to carry bags up a couple of stepped bridges. Alternative would be to get a water bus to Ca'd'Ora and then 2 min walk on flat.

The hotel was so beautiful and the staff was very welcoming and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Venice.

In general, we felt that the Giorgione was a bit overrated. Like someone else said, it's really more of a 3-star hotel, and hence not the greatest value. The staff was very pleasant, professional, and accomodating. Even the support staff (bar, breakfast, maintenance) was exceptional. The breakfast was wonderful (the only place in Italy we've gotten eggs and bacon), and with very nice courtyard views. The room size was slightly above average for Venice. Also, there was an icemaker available for use on the first floor, which is a rarity in Italy. We did have several problems, however. It was very hot in Venice while we were there (upwards of 90+ degrees farenheit), and the air conditioner in our room was not up to the task. It was a poor design (the air blew straight upward into the window shelf above it, and would not dispurse into the room). Their idea of fixing this problem was to remove the cover of the a/c, which helped somewhat, but looked very strange, and certainly was not a longterm solution. Also the room itself was very musty, with no airflow whatsoever. I can't figure out why hotels in Italy don't have fans in the room..that would go a long way toward fixing these kinds of problems. Anyway, this caused a very uncomfortable situation..we actually dreaded going back to the room during the hot days, which just should not happen. Also, during the last night there was a fairly heavy rainstorm. A couple of sets of outside shutters were loose, and starting banging against the walls during the night. This was unbelievably noisy, and went on for a couple of hours before the night help fixed it. The level of quiet in the room was not terrific to begin with. You could clearly hear people in the hallways at all hours of the night (we were on the 3rd floor). One more bad thing. They promise a free internet point, but the single computer is in constant use, so good luck getting to that. Also the free pool table buts up against it, so you're constantly avoiding

What a beautiful hotel, perfect for a romantic getaway! We had booked a superior double and it was stunningly beautiful and surpassed our expectations, the decor of the room was beautifully matching, very stylish and very quiet, overlooking a beautiful inner courtyard with a fountain. Breakfast was excellent and included scrambled eggs and bacon and the usual continental breakfast with all the trimmings, perfect to set you up for the day. All staff were extremely helpful, efficient and competent. The reception staff were also multi-lingual. The hotel was easy to find and very quietly located, yet not off the beaten track, the Rialto Bridge only a few minutes away on foot. Plenty of good restaurants and nice shops in the area. Less crowded than the main tourist areas and you were in the Venice of the Venetians. We treated ourselves to a Taxi ride back to the airport which shortened the journey considerably in comparison to taking the waterbuses on arrival. We will most definitely return and have already recommended it to our friends. Excellent value for money! Eva and Jonathan

Good place to spend few days if you want to celebrate somthing. Very well situated ! Canareggio, Santa Croce ect... Just one tip take a junior suite (if price reduction), you will not regret...

The service, quality and amenities of the hotel were poor compared to other 4* hotels. I would rate the hotel as no more than 2-3 star

Very nice hotel in good - handy for the sites -location with pleasant day staff. Excellent breakfast to set you up for the day. Seems pricey but probably good value for money by Venice standards. Would certainly stay again.

The only negative issue is that all rooms are non smoking rooms. This kind of information should be provided in the descriptions.

This was by far the friendliest hotel we have stayed in. It was in a quiet location with a beautiful walk to St. Marks Square. The hotel was simply wonderful, excellent breakfast, Beautiful rooftop view from balcony of loft room. We are so pleased we chose this hotel.

A very pleasant hotel that really made an effort to make our stay enjoyable. The quoted price was reliable, no extra charges afterwards.

Our room was very narrow. And the toilet has broken at night. Spare toilet paper was lost and it was troubled in the early morning. It was refused, although settlement of accounts was offered on the previous day, since check-out was very early morning. Location was very good and convenient.

The hotel was well placed in a quiet area that gave quick access both to major sights and an easy route to the nearby islands. Staff were very helpful and spoke good English - far, far better than our Italian. We had booked a superior room after reading other reviews that said the rooms were a little small - ours was a good size at a good price. We appreciated the fact that most of the hotel is non-smoking. Breakfasts were good and taken in very pleasant surroundings.

Without any doubt one of the best hotels I've stayed at - and great value for money as well. Heartily recommended to everybody who's planning a holiday in the notoriously expensive city of Venice. Great atmosphere, excellent service overall, plentiful breakfast, extremely comfortable rooms - not to mention the location, one of the very best in Venice for shopping and food.

The Giorgione was a nice value. Quiet neighborhood away from the hub-bub that is San Marco Square. Good restaurants within short walking distance. Friendly staff. Nice feature is the free internet connection. Standard room is a bit small. Overall our experience with the Giorgione was excellent!

We had an enjoyable time and found this to be a very nice and quiet place. It was easily accessable to many of the tourist spots. I have recommended this hotel to a few of my friends that are planning to visit Italy in the near future.

The Giorgione Hotel was a nice oasis in the bustle of Venice. The staff was very accomodating, and the rooms and public areas very well maintained and pleasant

Considering the rising prices in Venezia compared to other cities in Italy, the price should be fair. This is the only hotel we stay in Venezia and we should stay at the other hotels for comparison, maybe this autumn.

A nice walk from the railway station (keep on the same side of the Canal Grande as the station). If you don't walk you can take a boat to 2-300 meters away. Air condition is a requirement in this area in summer, and our room had one. It could have been stronger, but no big trouble. Nicely decorated room with TV (mostly italian channels), and a fine bath. Good breakfast (more than you expect of the continental type), and spacious areas inside and in the backyard with fountain. As everywhere else in Italy, everyone is very friendly towards children. Closeby is a charming Piazza, an you can be out in the Gondola in two minutes!
