Had a fantastic time in Venice. This hotel is a little jewel. Very well situated, wonderful staff and the cherry on the cake is the little garden that makes for a nice calm moment and drink after a busy day sightseeing. Would highly recommend it.

My friend and I stayed one night in Venice and were very comfortable at Hotel Flora. The room was small, but adequate. The dinner we had was excellent and the breakfast was also good. It was nice and quiet, yet close to San Marco. The desk clerk was not overly friendly, but the other staff was.

We spent 5 days at the hotel flora and loved every minute. It is very well situated close to st mark's square but in a quiet position near lovely shops. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is delightful and i will be recommending it to friends. I do suggest though that when booking ask for a large room ours was fine for a few days but a bit on the small side.

The lovely Hotel Flora was recommended by friends. It was excellent value especially when booked with Venere.com. The service was excellent and the Flora had a wonderful timeless style which was captivating. It was difficult to find, but after the first time no problem. It is set back in a little street with an impressive, almost hidden, front entrance. It has a wonderful courtyard with ivy, virginia creeper and jasmine climbing the walls, much loved by the little birds. This is where we took breakfast and also drinks at sunset. On certain evenings the hotel offers light evening meals as well which are just right when we have had enough walking for the day! The hotel decor was charming, the room was perfect and had windows opening onto the courtyard below. The most memorable thing was the peace and quiet that we found in the hotel, we slept so very well, ready for the next day's adventures. A delightful little hotel and one which I'm sure we will return to again and again.

The room was small, but very nice. The recommendation to go to Murano, and Burano was excellent and also the service provided. We were a bit surprised of the expensive restaurant provided as a tip for us/ should we have sasid we came from the beautiful hotel Flora perhaps?

Difficut to judge about relationsip between price and qualiy, because I visited it during Venice carnaval time and probably this is one of the reason that price is higher than usual. But for another time the room costs ~ 80 EUR (sigle) and from this prospective this is very good combination of price and quality.

The Flora is a charming and well run hotel and---by Venetian standards---quite reasonable. The location can't be beat as it is quite near to San Marco and the best shops and many restaurants. Most of the hotel staff are very helpful and provided useful recommendations. This was the third time that I have stayed at this hotel, so I certainly recommend it. Of course, given the price, this is not a 5 star super luxury hotel. But, for what you pay you will get a great deal in Venice.

The hotel is very nice and centrally located. Outdoor breakfast area is wonderful. Room size was small but OK. The staff was amazing - besides being very courteous, they found jewelry we left in the room accidentally during checkout and sent it to me in new york via FedEx free of charge! There was some nearby construction during our stay which made the room noisy during the day but this is obviously not the hotel's fault. Just in case, ask for a room facing the garden.

I have stayed at the Flora since 1963 quite a few times. I am very fond of the hotel. The breakfast was super pleasant in the garden. I moved across to the Saturnia to join a tour and the room wasn't any nicer, the breakfast was slightly better, and the prices were much higher. An interesting comparison.

The Hotel Flora was actually recommended to us from a friend who has stayed there twice before. We couldn't have been more pleased with EVERYTHING about 'the Flora'. The staff is wonderful, the in house bar/restaurant is not only convenient, but, beautiful. The morning breakfast in the patio garden was always the perfect way to start our days in Venice. The only 'issue' we had was that one of the front desk people, while very nice, was obviously trying to set up the 'tourist traps'- i.e. a 'free' boatride out to Murano that was obviously paid for by the glass blowing company. Also, the same employee tended to recommend restaurants that were clearly for tourists. Made us wonder about 'kickbacks' from the restaurants. TIP- there is a group of restaurants (Corta Sconta is one of them, as well as another on the island of Burano 'Il Gato' something) that adhere to price fairness and authentic food...seek out these restaurants only! Otherwise, we will definitely stay at the Flora everytime we visit Venice!

Beautiful boutique hotel in wonderful location nestled among designer shops and close to St. Mark's Square. Venetian charm abounds as well as lovely garden oasis and delicious breakfast with very accommodating staff and lots of returning customers. Gave us a great price against the Euro as well. Although room was a little small, bathroom was well equipped and size did not bother us . . . view from upper window was enchanting with tile rooftops. Comfy bed. Loved hearing the bells from the visible tower in St. Mark's Square. Highly recommended.

We arrived with 2 average suitcases, which would not fit into the first 2 rooms they proposed-- at least not if we wanted to walk around the bed without climbing over them. They were extremely cordial and put us for 1 night into a superior (much larger) room, with the narrowest bathroom I have ever seen. The next day they had a double just large enough to fit the suitcases and the bed, with a better bathroom with a shower. It overlooked the charming little garden courtyard, where, alas, somewhat rowdy guests had a beer party for several hours at the end of the day, and then returned late at night to frolic beneath our windows with loud voices. Venice is expensive, and this is a great location. But the prices are a bit steep for the quality of the rooms. The personnel could not be nicer, and the breakfast is wonderful, either in the 2 small parlors inside or in the garden courtyard. Definitely not a place to sleep late though.

The Hotel Flora was a quiet oasis. There was a nice buffet breakfast. It was a very convenient location. We took a vaporetto from the cruise dock to the hotel and had to carry our luggage through San Marco Square and over 3 bridges to get to the hotel. That was difficult! Cost: $9.50 each for vaporetto. Going to the San Marco airport on the way home we took a water taxi from Da Rafaelle Restaurant Dock around the corner from the hotel (Make arrangements with the desk). This was a much nicer and faster way to get to the airport (1/2 hour). The hotel porter carried our bags and showed us the way. Cost (gulp) $150.00. Da Rafaelle is a very nice restaurant, good food and close by. Not inexpensive but not too outrageous. LA Fenice Theatre is close to the hotel. Be sure to take a tour. It has burned twice and rebuilt twice to original specs. Very beautiful. Meals in Venice are very expensive. Dinners ran close to $100 for two. The bartender at the Flora also cooks a simple dinner if you are interested. There are 3-4 choices and cost runs $l3.50 to $21.00. We didn't find out about this until the last night and had reservations elsewhere. We would stay at the Hotel Flora again and would budget for the water taxi both ways! Cost per night was $360 mainly due to low value of the dollar.

the double bed was not a real one (2 separate duvets and 2 twin beds united by a sheet),at this level of price and in venice! but the garden was cute and nice, with birds flying all over. The room was small and expensive as it is often in venice, the breakfast italian even if buffet style and the hotel very well situated 3 blocks from piazza san marco

We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Flora. The room was quite small, but it was clean and nice. We didn't spend much time in the hotel room anyway - we were only there 2 nights. Loved the staff - concierge was very helpful in recommending superb restaurant spots based on what we were looking for - very knowledgable. Staff at breakfast were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is so quaint and beautiful inside. The courtyard garden where you can eat breakfast is fabulous! Loved Venice and this hotel!

The hotel is ideally located in the St Marks area but off the beaten track so that sitting in the garden, sitting in your room or in the dining area was quite pleasant. The hotel staff was excellent. Breakfast was great every day. Our bedroom was fine but the bathroom was a little small. Especially the shower. But it was clean and served it's purpose. We stayed four nights and would recommend the hotel to all newcomers.

Hotel Flora is immediately beside the stylish clothes shops of Venice, but has a very quiet atmosphere and a lovely small patio. The rooms are tiny. The a/c was not on in April so we had mosquito trouble. Very polite and capable staff - all men.

Hotel Flora is a treasure! It is a lovely property with old world charm and very competent and friendly staff. It was also very quiet, quite unusual for a Venice hotel. The only downside for me was the size of my single room. I had expected small, but it really was quite cramped. The bathroom had all the basics, but again, it was tiny! I still rate Hotel Flora very highly and would return.

The best aspect of the Flora is its position within just a few minutes of the major attractions of Venice but as a haven of peace from the rather noisy steets close by. The courtyard garden represents an unusual and charming feature which is fully utilsed by most residents. Staff were welcoming and friendly, although sometimes appeared a little 'aloof'. Breakfasts were particularly good, served by very efficient and jolly staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable, with excellent fresh linens frequently changed, although the major discomfort we found was the exceptionally hard pillows, and there were no others available to help the problem. As with all things in Venice, the hotel rates as expensive compared with other cities, although fair in relation to other hotels in Venice. The lack of a dining room for dinner at the hotel was not an issue as there is no shortage of good and varied restaurants within a few minutes walk.

I am more than happy to recommmend Hotel Flora to visitors to Venice. I stayed for 3 nights with my sister and aunt. We booked 1 double and 1 single room. The double bedroom was welcoming and comfortable although the only view was of the alley leading to the front door. The bathroom was on the small size but functional with a lovely basket of complimentary toiletries. My aunt said the single room was the best she has ever experienced, as singles can sometimes be small and not as nice as doubles. The breakfast was first class with a delicious bowl of fresh fruit salad and yogurt making a perfect start to our day. The staff were friendly and welcoming and I have no hesitation in recommending Hotel Flora to anyone booking a break in the lovely city of Venice.

An excellent small hotel in a quiet location and easily found. Right in the heart of everything. The single room I had was a little small but I didn't spend much time in my room so hence it didn't bother me. The friendly staff, location, cleansiness, quality of breakfast all made up for the small room. I do think though that 180 euros a night was a little on the expensive side but I guess its what you pay in Carnival time. The front reception staff were brilliant ... they organised concert tickets, water taxis and recommended good local restaurants (not found in the guidebooks) and would go further to recommend local dishes and wines to accompany them. Excellent service throughout my stay. The hotel was down a quiet alleyway and had a nice outdoor garden. I would definately stay at Hotel Flora again when i next visit Venice.

Our first time at Hotel Flora, but we hope to return. A fabulous warm welcome from a really friendly and helpful staff. We felt part of the family! The hotel is really close to St Mark's square, but not so close as to be disturbed by noise. A little gem hidden in a quiet alleyway.

We stayed 4 nights. HOtel very comfortable and superbly located in walking distance of most places we wanted to go. Bedrooms are very small and a bit stuffy. If you open the window you do get noise from the terrace below. The room was quite expensive but not unreasonable in the context of general high prices in Venice - 18 euros before tips for two teas at Cafe Florian in the piazza San Marco! Overall we would happily returnto the hotel - at least out of season, it may be very busy and noisy in summer.
