Hotel Firenze - Venice
San Marco 1490 - Venice
1-877-662-6988The property is a 16th century building, which has been rebuilt at the end of the 19th century. Nowadays, the hotel's facade, is a fine combination of marble and iron, that enhances all the charme of the Art Nouveau style. On the top floor guests can take advantage of a wonderful terrace with a gorgeous breathtaking view of the city, the basin and the St' Mark's Basilica.
The property offers its guests the opportunity to be surrounded by the magic atmosphere of a thousand year old city which has remained unchanged over the centuries and to enjoy a pleasant stay in the spirit of warm welcome and prestigious tradition.

I stayed at the Hotel Firenze 3 nights and will go back. The best part was the location about 100 meters from Piazza San Marco. The room had no view and was nicely decorated Venetian. The bedroom was small with a surprisingly comfortable bathroom. Staff was professional and courteous, breakfast was fine. The hotel has free internet access which was slow and very late one evening did not work. Be prepared the hotel may be hard to find. I walked past the entrance several times. It is actually an entrance to a courtyard off the street and as one reviewer said it is best to look on the ground for the name or ask a local shop owner. Make sure you go to the clock tower in time for the bells to ring and have your camera ready to capture the surprised facial expressions of those that are unaware of this treat.

excellent central location for visiting Venice (clearly then slightly noisy at night). The room was fine and very clean with comfortable beds. The reception gentleman was very helpful and the restaurant he recommended was also very good. Breakfast is extremely poor - tasteless pastries, reconstituted orange juice and instant coffee for this level of star rating is not acceptable especially in Italy

Easy to reach by boat line 1 or 2, 3 minutes walk from S.Marco. Small room, but that's normal for Venice. Small bathroom, not confortable for obese people, but otherwise acceptable. Little space for showering, again not for obese people. The room was very clean, had air conditioning, television and minibar (minibar prices were acceptable). Wifi was available in the room and included in room charge, it worked well. The breakfast was included in the price, very small buffet and few tables, but food quality was acceptable. The staff was attentive and polite, only one complaint: the TV remote was held togheter with tape and didn't work well. I asked for a replacement unit, but none was avaliable. Not a problem (unless you plan to spend all day in the room), but these little details help justify the price (or make it look excessive). The elevator broke down one time, but was fixed in a few hours. They only need to work on details, such as a larger buffet and working remotes, in order to make the quality/price ratio more acceptable. Overall, it's a good place to stay for a few days and its position is indeed excellent.

Size of bedroom was ok. Size of bathroom very small. Entrance and reception very small. Roof terrace excellent. Elevator sometimes out of work (necessary because we travelled with wheelchair). Welcome little bit poor, but ok.

*Stayed 1 night, Standard Double room. PROS: Very friendly staff, well-stocked bathroom, good and free Wifi, great location to San Marco, nice balcony with view, rooftop balcony with beautiful view, decent breakfast, complimentary welcome drink, clean room, 24-hour staff. CONS: Small room, small elevator. OVERALL: The only bad thing about our stay was the size of the room, but that seems to be normal in Venice. For the price, it was a good option, with a great location, and a very helpful and friendly staff.

Ok, well located hotel, breakfast standard, when you get to San Marco boat station, ask at the information point (20 meters)where is the hotel, beacause is really well located but very difficult to find if you don´t have clear directions

Hotel is located just a short block from St. Mark's square and a short block from the waterfront. It was an excellent location for three days of walking ALL of Venice, as well as catching a valporetto (water taxi) to longer distances. Breakfast was excellent and the view from the roof garden overwhelming!

Rooms were comfortable, for European size! Pillows were a little hard. Breakfast was included, always a nice touch. The best part was the rooftop terrace, which we used to get together with friends before dinner, with a few drinks. Location, unbeatable!!! A nice hotel, with helpful & friendly staff for a great price!

Bathroom of Street side rooms are too tight! there is only 10cm distance between the toilet and washing one who are facing each other! I had to listen the welcome receptionist who was an old guy, for 15 minutes insisting on a restaurant description allthough I didn't wantto get the room key.

Great location. Decent value. We had to switch room after the first night because of street noise. The roof top terrace should be great in good weather. Room was small but workable, braekfast was typical, the lift is a plus for anyone needing it.

How to find the hotel (in Venice it is always tricky): Corte Foscara is a small courtyard off Salizzada San Moize, a large street (well, by Venetian standards...) going directly from piazza San Marco. Immaculate room, friendly service.

Good hotel, nice staff, really close to S Marc square (at night, kind of problem, as the neighbourhood is not as lively as others). Well equiped room, murano lights, modern and banal decoration.

Great location. Room was spacious by Venice standards but bathroom was conjested. Elevator was a major plus. Breakfast and the dining room were very nice and service was excellent. We would stay there again and recommend it to others.

The personnel were very helpful. The location was great, but somewhat noisy because of street traffic. The staff moved us promptly to a quieter room. The breakfast was lovely, as were the rooms. Thanks!

Ou stay with the family was very pleasant thanks to the most helpful and efficient staff. We quite enjoyed our elegantly appointed rooms with terrace on the fourth floor. The location right in the heart of Venice is superb.

The Hotel is near San Marco, rather far from train station. From train station you need to get the water bus (boat) or taxi to the hotel. The bus is very over-crowded and rather difficult to get in the boat because it seems most people have not heard of lines, the stronger gets on the boat and the weaker stays behind. Watch your pockets. It takes about 40 minutes with the water-bus riding in the Grand-Canal to get to the hotel. The hotel is hard to find. It does not have a visible sign in the street and the location does not match the map provided. You'd better off asking the locals. We stayed here one night in June '03. The receptionist lady was rude and unfriendly. She seemed rather disappointed that we showed up to check in!!! She was rude with at least 3 other customers that I observed. She was either unhappy with her job, or was just having a bad couple of days, who knows. Customer service was poor overall. Our room was clean and space was adequate, with nice decoration. Bathroom was very good. Noise level was tolerable. Breakfast was standard. Overall, I would not stay in this hotel again. This hotel needs a good sign outside in the street, better map, and certainly a different front desk receptionist, and better customer service training for the employees. My recommendation: take your money to some other hotel with better customer service. M. Mandegar, San Diego, CA, U.S.A.

We stayed here one night. Overall the quality of the room was good, but most other things were lacking. To start with, the hotel was extremely hard to find. No good signs on the street. The map does not correlate well with location. The front desk lady was very unfriendly as if we were a burden to her. We did not feel welcome. The hotel lobby is nonexistent but that is not a big deal. Hotel has an elevator which is a plus for luggages. The breakfast was the same standard as for all other hotels. the room was clean and the size was acceptable. Bathroom was adequate and good water pressure. Overall it is a reasonable place to stay, but there must be better choices. I would not go back, merely for the attitude of the front desk lady.

Hotel has a great location, literally a stones throw from St Marks Square. The room was of a good clean standard and value for money was excellent.( We even had a balcony with a cain table and chairs ) Would certainly recommend the hotel to friends if only for the man in reception with just about THE worst wig I've ever seen!!! I thought we were on Candid Camera!
