We were well aware of the fact that Venice is more expensive than other cities. Here we paid double the price of our spacious well-equipped room at 4-star Europa Hotel in Padua but that is the way things are, I suppose. Very few places beat the location of this rather charming little hotel with rooms facing a small canal and set in historic surroundings, with San Marcos square a five-minute walk through winding alleys and with the Canal Grande and the traghetto within reach. The staff were very helpful and gave us a lot of tips on how to get about. No need to pay €6,50 for the vaporetto when you can cross the canal on the traghetto for €0,50 and walk to the station. Just follow the sign Alla ferrovia.

Over all, our stay at De L'Alboro was adequate and met our needs but don't expect a large room as they are very small. The best part was the location of the Hotel. It was in the center of everything and a short walk to the main attractions. As well if travelling with a lot of luggage the place was just a short walk from a vaparetto stop. Staff were very helpful and welcoming with the exception of one. If I were to go back to Venice I would stay here again.

Good location (a few steps from Sant'Angelo stop). Friendly staff. Need to change the mattress. No internet access, but you can find at a near place (S. Barnaba).

Having undergone basic training in the German army as a forced conscript I quickly got used to the fact that breakfast had to be taken latest by 9.30 (and not a minute later or you get nothing but some friendly remark by the hotel manager!), that a shower after midnight only had lukewarm water, that from two double rooms one was spacious overlooking the canal and the other one was rather claustrophobic with only one window facing the wall of the opposite house in 2m distance. For two nights it is ok and great value for money. And if you get rooms overlooking the canal in a spacious room (e.g. rooms with number divisible by 7) it might even please a high-maintenence wife/partner as a substitute for a romantic holiday and you can save per night 100 bucks for a double room. The personal farewell by the hotel manager/owner herself, a firm Italian lady in her fifties stressed from her demonstrated friendliness, was almost cordial.

Very nice staff, very helpful and thoughtful in giving advice. Great location - away from the craziness in high season of San Marco and Rialto areas but well located to walk to many wonderful areas.

The best thing of this hotel is where it is. very easy to arrive from the airport using the orange line(boat).Only 1 minute walking!!, very close to plaza san marco , puente rialto and piazza margarita so you can visit the most important places very easy. The hotel is pretty old but all in venecia is old.... i will return to this hotel in case i return to venice. Care with mosquitos!!!there are all around anyway...

This is a small basic hotel in an out of the way little Piazza. It was difficult to find as we arrived late at night. Steff were welcoming and friendly and the rooms were clean and quiet. However it is very basic - in most cities it would seem like a rip - off but in the context of Venice it is probably okay. One bonus is that it is only a 2 minute walk to the Vaparetto stop at San Angelo. from there you can ride down Grand Canal to Rialto or San Marco - you can also take Vaparetto to Airport from here. This is very useful when you have cases to carry. In balance though it was too small and too basic for real comfort.

The hotel is near by the center ( on foot 15 minutes)in a quiet steet. The staff was very pleasant and helpfull, and the room was clean. The price is a little bit expensive, like everything in Venice. Our room looked into nothing, ( into a brick wall), but we were so tired, that it wasn't important. The breakfast was suprising good.

Brilliant hotel. EXCELLENT location. Take advantage of the passes for the water boats and travel anywhere by boat or bus. Visit Murano for glass making, Burano for lace making, the Venice Lido for a beautiful beach. Enjoy all the wonderful food that is on offer. We went to Chioggia and spent a relaxing day there. Catch a boat to the Lido, bus to Pellestrina and then a boat to Chioggia (all paid for by the waterbus passes.

Excellent small and quiet hotel, with very clean, nice and confortable rooms. Beds were excellent, with large and brand new mattresses and pillows. Large, clean and nice bathrooms. Triple room ( we hire 2 rooms) was really triple: 3 beds. Very well locate: 50 meters from Santágelo “vaporeto” stop, 10 minutes walk to San Marco, 5 minutes walk to Rialto, 3 large "Piazas" with many restaurants in the neighborhood Very good continental Breakfast, excellent reception, all the personnel is very friendly and devoted to serve the tourist

Yes, Venice is expensive. This was the most expensive hotel room in my months of travel in Italy. I was given a double for most of my stay with one night in a single as I extended my stay and this was the only option. If I had only stayed in the double I would have a different opinion, having stayed in the single it was like being in another hotel and not a very good one. The location is great, around the corner is a vaporetto stop and its 15 to 20 mins from San Marco if you dont get lost;) Reception service depended on the person, some were excellent, some not ... Id try another hotel next time.

This hotel was ideal for our trip to Venice to celebrate our silver wedding. Very close to the vaporetto stop and all the sights, but in a quiet backstreet. Room and bathroom (with a bath!) was extremely clean. Nice view of canal out of the window. Breakfast was plentiful and staff extremely pleasant and helpful apart from the last lady who served us breakfast and settled our bill. She seemed to be permanently annoyed and was unfriendly and quite rude in fact. As she was the last person we saw, it was her impression we went away with. A shame really as the rest of the staff were delightful.

The location was wonderful - just off of the ACTV stop and easy walking to all of Venice. The bed was very comfortable, staff friendly and the continental breakfast was filling - all the things we needed. The rooms were small with some chips in the floor tiles. We only had 2 days in Venice and this was a perfect hotel for the occasion. We would stay again.

Very, very easy to find. Very easy to get to from the train station. We were (for me) only 110 steps from the line #1 varoretto stop.Very helpful and pleasant staff, although soem did not speak much English (but did speak French). Away from most of the tourists and crouds, but stil very convieniently located to everything. Breakfast and breakfast room were very nice. The only improvement I would make would be to add Wi-Fi. The nearest internet conneciton is about a 3-minute walk. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Our children (in their 20s) would love it.

The hotel location is a nice stroll from St Marks Square, yet far enough to be tranquil & away from the crowds - perfect. The staff were really friendly. I asked for a room with a view & wasn't disappointed - straight out onto a canal. Venice itself was beautiful, the trip was easy & i'm glad a friend discovered Venere.com - I have since been to Paris & stayed in another lovely hotel found on your website. It's great to see customer photos as well as the hotel ones & the customer comments really help when choosing. Thank you for helping with great memories.

I stayed here with my two grown-up daughters. We had a lovely room which overlooked a small canal. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful and several of them spoke excellent English and were very helpful with information, directions etc. This hotel is literally steps away from San Angelo water bus stop and is easy to find, which is a big advantage if you are visiting Venice for the first time. It is well-positioned for walking to Rialto, San Marco and Accademia. I thought it was good value for money and would stay there again.

1 min walk from waterbus stop, open the room window, beautiful small canal in front of you. Gentle and kind staff, small but clean and comfortable room. More than perfect cos I did not expect such nice hotel as I heard hotels in venice are one of most expensive in the world. But this hotel was very nice.

This hotel was quiet and charming although a teensy bit more run down than we expected. The staff were so friendly and eager to help with everything. The location was a little further from San Marco Piazza than we had anticipated but walking around Venice is a real treat so this was not a great problem for us.

Our stay at hotel De L’Alboro was very pleasant and the services of the staff was excellent. They were friendly and helpful from the moment we entered the door to the time we had to part again. They helped us to find a good, nice and reasonable priced restaurant and a cheap(er) gondolla ride. The hotel is small without a dining restaurant, but very "venezian". Our room was romantic with wodden planks on the ceiling a chandelier and a spacy with 3 meters to the ceiling. The view from the hotel was right down to a canal and we couldn't have ask for a better one. The breakfast was adequate. The hotel is placed right between the Rialto bridge (500 m away) and the S. Marco place (500 m away) so the location was excellent too. Overall we highly recommend De L’Alboro and wouldn't mind staying there again, and by chance I think we got the room with the best view so we were very pleased.

The hotel De L'Alboro was very nice. The room was clean and quiet. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us. Breakfast was adequate. It would have been helpful to add the vaporetto stop to the directions (St. Angelo). The front desk woman spoke very little English but we were able to get our points across. We enjoyed our stay!

The booking I made was late (one day prior). I was pleased with the ease of booking and choice of other options available. The price was more however, I understand due to the lateness I had to take what was available. My only negative was the quality of the map. I had not been to the city before and was unsure as to the exact whereabouts of the property.

A quiet spacious room that was well suited to us and our college age daughter. In a very quiet area somewhat removed from the sights and high activity parts of the city but it was very close to a vaporetto stop and easy to get back and forth (as long as the boats are not on strike). The staff was very friendly and competent. The public areas and breakfast room were adequate but nothing spectacular.
