I have stayed at da Bruno before, but this must have been the first time they gave me a room on the street side because I don't recall it being so noisy before. Otherwise, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the property is clean, and you can't beat the price for this location.

In Venice there are two things that are certain with temporary lodging; Space is a challenge and lodging is expensive. I paid more than I wanted to but slected Da Bruno for its central location. I was happy to see that Da Bruno did not disappoint. Free wireless, great continental breakfast, especially the coffee (best I had in Venice), friendly staff and cozy clean rooms. Other than no elevator and high cost for a single/twin room. I would recommend Da Bruno for service, staff and quality of room.

Stayed a week during the busiest season of year: carnevale. Staff was always helpful, hotel had great location and easy to get to, room a bit tiny, had to watch your head in toilet!!but, it's Venice and expected, great buffet breakfast, room generally nice and clean except for 2 days when not made up. would not hesitate to stay again, however.price was right, comparitively.

I stayed 6 nights and found the hotel professionally managed. The employees are friendly, informative, and patient. The breakfasts include all you could want and more. The coffee is excellent. I found the hotel quiet but if you are sensitive to street noise (Per Lio is well travelled) ask for a room away from the street at the back of the hotel. Internet is a bit pricey but it works well. I hope to return asap.

We found the manager to be extremely unfriendly, apart from a welcome orange juice on arrival. The bathroom was extremely small for a family of four to share. The manager did not even raise his head when we left the hotel for home.

The room was a little small (as they are in Venice) but it was very clean and the bathroom was well appointed. The service was VERY good. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was much better than expected! Overall, for the price and location, I would give it a 9.5.

This is an excellent hotel. When we arrived hot, sweaty and tired, the very accomodating desk clerk dropped what he was doing and got us glasses of cold orange juice. Our room, a triple, was the only one on the top floor, so we had a very quiet stay. There was no elevator, so it was a bit of a struggle to get the luggage up to the 3rd floor. They had offered porter service, but we didn't want to wait for the man to show up. The room was a bit tight with the 3rd bed, but the bathroom was large. Everything was clean and nicely furnished. The air conditioning was just adequate for the very hot weather, and the whole hotel was air conditioned, which not always the case. The breakfast was very nice, and the woman who took care of the breakast room was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was in the midst of many little shops and restaurants, which all hotels are, Venice being so small and dense. I would definitely stay here again.

I accidentally booked my room for the night I was in the air and as soon as I realized my mistake, I contacted them and they refused to refund my night. Non-refundable price. The bathroom was very clean but TINY. 1 small soap. Beds were of the tiny, hard variety. Crumby toilet tissue and no kleenex, as usual. VERY loud at night as the hotel is on a main thoroughfare. Decor was okay. Room was small-ish. Front desk was nice enough. TV is Italian, German and CNN. The best rated gelato place is next store. Memorable? No. Would I call them again to stay? Probably not.

Da Bruno was quite easy to find and overall met our expectations. It is very conveniently situtated to the most important site in Venice. Room was on the smaller side and so was the bathroom, but in a hotle that size a larger accomodation could hardly be expected.

Very confortable, clean and well located hotel. Really close to Rialto Bridge and Rialto vaporetto station. San Marco Square, most famous city location, is at a 10 minute walk. The hotel is placed in a "main street", larger then most of venetian alleys, what makes it easier to be found. Restaurants, pizzerias, gelaterias, pharmacies and shopping areas also very close. Friendly staff. I had a problem with the air conditioning in the second night, and was immediately given another room to sleep in, and the problem was solved the next day. Very good breakfast. Strongly recommend it.

We enjoyed our stay there, as it was so central. It was quite noisy, as we were on the route between the Rialto Bridge and St. Marks, but the room was cosy and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and included fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt and pastries.

Very good hotel. Rooms are quiet, clean and well decorated. Bathroom (shower) is big-enough and very clean. Location of this hotel is simply ... perfect. People are very friendly. Breakfast is continental buffet and fully filled. Do not worry, go there. This will be a good decision. It is my 5th time in Venice and I will probably go back there. I was in room 253 - if I remember well - the 1st room on the left when at the 2nd level (single room) which is very good. You can ask for it. Also, I recommend you to try one of the best restaurant in Venice, 5mins walking: L'Osteria Di Santa Marina.

The room was extremely small, about 2X the width of the twin bed. The mattress was very uncomfortable; the room unventilated. I had to open the window to get air, and got bitten by mosquitoes. My welcome was very nice, the breakfast good and the coffee lady was extremely nice, a joy to meet in the mornings. The bathroom was small extremely clean and adequate except the hotel "hair dryer" was a tube from an old type bonnet hairdryer with almost no air flow. At my departure, the man at the desk left to take another leaving couple somewhere - I waited as long as I could before having to leave to catch my train. I had to leave my credit card info on a piece of paper, as they took no info at arrival, and hope they would destroy the information once they used it. This made my husband and I very nervous for the rest of our trip. When I called once to confirm that they had been able to process the billing, the man at the desk was unable to understand me well, and didn't know what I was talking about. He insisted on having my room number, which I couldn't remember, and that he could not help me if I couldn't give it to him. I attempted to tell him the location of my room, but he cut me off rudely.

For the most part our stay was okay. However, The room is tiny (but it is Venice after all) but they were clean. The day clerk was very friendly and helpful and a special thank you to Albert. The ladies who serve breakfast were also friendly and helpful. However the night clerk (a much older gentleman) was very rude and was upset because we asked for extra toilet paper! Also, be warned that if you check out early in the morning, there is noone to help with the luggage and there is no elevator so you have to haul all the luggage down the stairs yourself. Further, there does not seem to be any laundry service provided so if you desperately need something pressed or washed you have to find some other means. We asked for our clothes to be pressed and Albert did it as a favour as there is no actual service for that. If you are willing to put up with some of the inconveniences and attitudes, this hotel may be worth considering.

Wow what a fantastic hotel. This hotel is easy to find and located on a great street with shops, food, pastries and gelato shops right out the front door. Everything you'd want to see or do in Venice is within a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The continental breakfast was even better than what I had read in reviews and our room overlooked the street just as we had imagined Venice to be. I really can't say enough about this property. The only negative I can see would be for people who have trouble with stairs since there isn't a lift or elevator at the hotel. But for everyone else this hotel simply cannot be beat for the price. If we are ever in Venice again this is where we will stay.

The rooms were small, but clean, while the hotel staff was quite friendly and informative. Wireless internet access is available for a price, but breakfast is free, tasty, and varied. We arrived very late (01:00 at night) after having problems with our car during our ride to Venice. We were very warm welcomed with a drink at the cost of the hotel. The location is a little hard to find but very central between Rialto and Plazo San Pedro. Also the personal at the breakfast was very helpful, service is very important for Hotel Bruno!. We recommend the hotel to everybody, and would like to return in the future.

The hotel is a nice and cheap(for venice) hotel to stay in Venice if you want to stay in center. The location is very easy to find after finding the hotel in first time.I stayed in a single room and it was very small but it is normal in Venice. Staff was kind and the man on reception likes to watch sports on tv :) breakfast was not good enough but no problem because it is a waste of time to stay in hotel in venice, eat quickly and go outside! i like venice and if i will go to venice again i would like to stay in this hotel.because price/quality is very high.

Great hotel right in the centre of Venice - a few minutes to the Rialto or St Marks. Room size pretty typical for Venice, at the smaller end of the scale - but why worry as there is too much to see in Venice to spend time in the room. We'll definitely stay at Da Bruno again.

I found the hotel very much as described on the web sight. The location is the big plus. Since they charge 1 euro for public bathrooms in Venice I found I could easily go back to the hotel to use the bathroom and rest before going back out. This saved a euro and let me drop off or pick up anything. Staff spoke adequate English and answered all questions.

Very friendly staff. The room was small but comfortable enough. The bathroom, though, was extremely small and they were stingy with soap shampoo. The location is excellent as was the breakfast. Prices are not cheap, but nothing is in Venice. The hotel should invest a bit in updating (t.v.s in rooms, decor, etc).

I stayed at Hotel Bruno for a week around chrsitmas 2007. I have been to Venice several times before and I must say that this is the best place I have stayed so far. The location is perfect, easy to find, the room was absolutely okey for me, could have been a little bigger but that is just small things. Breakfast was very good, several types of bread, juices and so on. Next time I go to Venice I would like to stay at the same hotel and I will recommend it highly.

We were two ladies travelling together to Venice (in December) and very happy to have found this nice hotel which we can suggest to everybody. The room was comfortably warm what was important as December can be cold in Venice. The only thing: we had a room with windows to the "street" and it may be a little loud in summer with many people passing by. And, the hotel can only be reached on foot which would be a problem for people who are bad on their feet. Breakfast was super and the staff is very kind.

Excellent location halfway between St Marks and Rialto Bridge. Can easily stop back at hotel during the day to take a break or refresh. No lift so pack carefully! Orange juice upon arrival is welcoming after lugging bags to the hotel! A bit difficult to find initally as although it is on a "main" street, when coming from Rialto it is difficult to find the correct street as it is somewhat hidden - several small streets but the correct one is sortof a little path that goes under a second story of a building - would not think it leads to a bigger main street. The hotel directions do not mention this but if getting off at Rialto follow the signs to St Marks initially and it will lead you to the right street (or ask hotel for specific instructions about this darkish path. Bathroom is very tiny (especially the shower) so difficult to move around in. A bit noisy but that is typical of Venice. We asked for a room off the street but never recieved it althogh the hotel did not seem that busy. We were also told to park in a specific car park where we would receive a discount but the hotel was out of coupons so we did not recieve this. Overall Hotel Bruno is a great place to stay. Price is average for Venice but the location is excellent for exploring day or night.

My wife and I stayed in a double room with a bed that was comfortable. Our stay was very plesant. We arrived around midnight and Enzo was very cordial and helpful. The room was average sized for European standards but was very clean. There were several places to eat in the area and the continental buffet breakfast served was filling. For us it wasn't a problem but some older or handicapped guests might not like the fact that there is no elevator. But personally speaking we definitely recommend Hotel Da Bruno.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel, in terms of value for money I don't think it could be beaten. It's perfectly placed for sight seeing in Venice and really central for night life. The staff are brilliant, I e-mailed the hotel direct several times for information and advise on how to get from the airport to the hotel, every time the response was quick and help full. I requested a room off of the main street as previous comments had said the noise from the street could be disruptive. We were greeted with a warm smile, glass of orange juice and nice quite room at the back of the hotel just as promised. If you are a couple looking for a romantic break this place is for you. I'm not sure how suitable it would be for families, the rooms are not massive and I didn't see anyone with young children staying there but this is a great place and I'm sure if you tell Igor at reception what you need to make your stay a pleasant one he and the hotel will exceed you expectations.

The very central location of this hotel makes it an ideal place to stay in Venice and since travel to the hotel is only by foot, make sure you don't carry heavy luggages. It is only minutes to the famous landmarks in the city so you can get lost and still find your way back to it. The hotel emloyees services are ideal and made us very welcome in our stay. The only bad thing I can say is the noise at night since we have a room at the front side of the hotel facing the street and the sound of the all night pedestrians seams amplified to our room, but we soon got use to it. I would definitely stay again in this hotel on my next Venice travel.

THANK YOU VENERE.COM!!! Da Bruno's is a wonderful hotel. Igor welcomed me with a big smile and my stay was pleasant throughout. The room was TINY. The bed looked like a hotdog bun, but the space was very clean. The location is perfect... very perfect. Seven minutes walk to Pza San Marco, two minutes from Ponte Rialto and ferry.

I took my girlfriend to venice for 4 days for our two year anniversary. It was a great hotel with a big room, good bathroom and friendly and helpful staff. When we wanted breakfast in bed it was no problem to go downstairs and ask the helpful maid who put all that we needed onto a tray for us which was great when we didn't want to go downstair for breakfast. Although there was noisy construction outside on a couple of mornings (might be an idea to get a room off the main street if you go in the next month or so from Nov 05), otherwise we had nothing to complain about and would recommend this hotel to those wanting a nice yet economical option right in the heart of venice.

The Da Bruno has an excellent position between Rialto and San Marco. The rooms are very good and spacious, although fronting onto San Lio can be a little noisy! Watch out for the coffee at breakfast...it tends to be rather cool. Overall we enjoyed our few days there and would happily return.

The hotel was excellent. Maybe it was rather expensive, but I guess that 's because it is in the center of Venice. We also stayed in Verona and bergamo, in fantastic hotels and the prices were half as much. Still, if you want a fantastic located hotel in the center of Venice, Da Bruno is the perfect choise.

Igor(!) welcomed my husband and me upon our arrival mid-Oct., and was gracious and very helpful in orienting us to Venice. Lovely breakfast room and delicious food. Room a little small, but who stays in their room in Venice? Loved the Murano glass everywhere; staff perhaps a little too eager to arrange a 'free' trip to the island -- no such thing as a free lunch (expensive stuff there - offer half and stay firm, and walk away if they don't come down at least a 1/3). Our room overlooked the San Lui, lovely view, but a little noisy one night. No elevators, so keep your luggage to a minimum. great location, 2 min. to Rialto bridge, 5 min to St. Mark's square. We'd stay there again! Becky & Dave

For a hotel in the very centre of Venice, Hotel Da Bruno was very good value for money. The rooms were very clean and had all the facilities and services that anyone could need. The satff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to anyone.

Excellent hotel position, 5mins St. Marks, 3 mins Rialto. Lovely canals around Santa Maria Formosa area near hotel. Travelled solo for 1st time but felt very welcome by staff and very comfortable. Single room was small with no view but nice bathroom, fridge and air conditioning. Good centrally located tourist hotel and good value for money. Would stay again.

This is a wonderfull hotel. The staff was very helpful and spoke english. The room was very clean and the furnishings and bathroom all new. No canal smell and very quiet. The location is walking distance to everything. There is the best gelato place in venice right next door. You are 3 mins. away from Rialto bridge and 5 mins. away from Piazza San Marco. We highly recommend this hotel. The best hotel I've staying at in Italy overall.

A bit hard to locate even though Da Bruno is in fact centrally located. Overall, reasonable price vs quality in terms of Venice standard. But as a side note, I certainly won't visit Venice again.

Although a bit tricky to find because Venice is so intricate a city, the hotel was worth the search. We were greeted very warmly and the room was very clean and quiet. The air conditioning worked well and was definitely a plus at this time of year. The location is excellent. The breakfast could have included boiled eggs or cold meats but was enough with the fresh fruit they provided. The staff was very nice and helpful which was a plus considering this is the busiest time of year in Venice and many people are sick of tourists by this time and don't seem to be friendly or want to assist at all. Would definitely stay there again and highly recommend this hotel which is just the right size for more personal service. Ciao!

We both enjoyed our stay at Da Bruno, it was very comfortable, clean and the staff were nice. it was also idealy located in the centre of venice, so there wasnt a lot of walking involved and there was no need to take a boat anywhere.

A nice hotel just 5 mins walk from Rialto bridge. The room we stayed in was quite small but it was clean. No lifts so it was a bit annoying having to carry our luggages up flights of stairs. Not the best 3 stars hotel we stayed in but it was comfortable and in the cente of Venice. Would recommend it as a basic but comfortable place to stay.

My wife and I stayed a single night in Room 134 at the Hotel Da Bruno in Venice. The reception was very polite and met us warmly as we arrived in the lobby after an overnight train from Cannes, France. Despite our arrival at only 7am, our room was ready for the day, so we were immediately able to drop our luggage and freshen up before going out to tour the city. We were offered a fresh orange juice as we were checked in, and then we were shown to our room (there is no elevator, so be ready to deal with steps if you have heavy luggage). Checkout and payment was polite and prompt. In room wall safe was welcome to store small valuables during the stay. There was no phone surcharge to access the local AT&T International access number. Location was very close to St. Marks Square. We chose to utilize water taxi to arrive, and this proved wise, as we found Venice rather hard to navigate. Use of window shutters at night made for a very quiet and comfortable nights sleep. The room size was generous, and probably the largest of the several hotels we stayed at in Italy (all in same class). Overall, the staff was very friendly, and our stay was pleasant.

An excellent hotel for our visit in Venice. Our rooms were small but comfortable enough and had a very nice atmosphere. Perfect clean bathrooms. The windows agaist the little street connecting Rialto with San Marco gave wiews of the everyday life in the city. The fiendly staff excused the abscence of an elevator. For us it just added charm to this hotel. We would not hesitate to try to find a room here the next time. The location is also the best you can find.

An excellent hotel. But we did find we heard a lot of noise, eg talk and tv, from neighbouring rooms through the air conditioning ducts. This might have been because the aircon was not on due to it being winter and the central heating was on instead. On the other hand the aircon being on might have made it worse, who knows. But it didn't affect our enjoyment of a clean and freindly hotel. Eg the pillow cases, and probably the sheets as well, were changed every day! Thanks Venere and thanks Da Bruno.

This place was certainly worth the venere rate of 90 euros. The room was large for venetian standards, nicely decorated, even better than in the pictures. The hotel is really well located, close to san marco but not in the middle of it all. The bathroom was a bit smelly but this is par for the course for venice. We were awoken by some loud people in the street at night.

Nice hotel well-situated in the very center of the town of Venezia, close to San Marco square and Rialto bridge. Rooms are rather comfortable and clean. Only a weak point, the noise made by pedestrians if you have a room over the street.

The Da Bruno is a charming little hotel in a great location (well, is there a BAD location in Venice?) less than five minutes' walk to San Marco, and fer cryin' out loud, you walk out your door and you're in Venice! The hotel is an easy (for Venice) 5 minute walk from the Rialto bridge reached by vaporetti Nos. 1 or 82. I had a small single room facing an alley with a slight sewer-y smell with the window open, so kept it closed. ;) If possible, get a room facing a street. Very clean room with a decent bathroom. No elevator, but was on the first (second for us Yanks) floor. The breakfast was a basic continental (read: all carb) that was usually passed up for a local coffee bar. All in all, I would say it was a bargain for Venice.

The property is very clean and well presented. The location is excellent for St AMrks and the Rialto. Service was good though we would have expected tea and coffee making facilities in the room which were not available.

This is a nice hotel and very nicely situated. The staff was great, as was the breakfast. There was an insufficient supply of hot water to the shower at the peak morning time.
