Our family of four, including two teenage kids, loved our stay at Hotel Cristallo. The location is perfect, the hotel and staff are excellent. If we had any complaint, it was that the room was smaller than we expected from the photos but the small balcony was a great addition to our little room. I offer this hotel my highest recommendation, especially for college age travelers, families with children and people trying to contain costs. The breakfast was excellent and the close location to the beach, restaurants and Venice cannot be beat.

We had a warm & welcoming stay. The staff was exceptional(especially the big guy). They spoke enough English to assist in navigating currency exchange, dining recommendations, and vaporetto passes. I can say with certainty that they excelled in customer service, something we find less & less of in the United States. In addition to the personal service they provided, the location was EXCELLENT. The Lido vaporetto stop was less then 7 minutes from the property, and there was plenty to do in the area surrounding the hotel. The complimentary breakfast was a great way to start our day. Kudos for free cappuccino, espresso, & croissents.

Everything about the hotel is just great. From the friendly reception staff to the overall location. The room was clean and nice. Very quiet at night. It was just a 5 minute walk from the Lido boat jetty and the surrounding area is beautiful. As a single traveler, I got a room with 2 single beds and private bathroom at a good price. I would stay there again and recommend it to other people.

Great hotel in a perfect location on Lido di Venezia. Good breakfast, bread rolls, speck, cheeses, yogurt, cake, coffee, juices. Overall an excellent choice. The two Andreas are wonderful. Ask for restaurant recommendations--they will put you off the beaten path to places only locals go, which will keep you away from the tourist traps and you will eat very well.

The Hotel is lovely. The staff was very helpfull and gave accurate information regarding transportation. very good price to quality. good breakfast, and free wifi as noted in advance. The only disadvantage is the thin walls... excellent location, in the center of Lido. 6 minutes walk from the main boat bus station. very good resteruants and shops in 1 min walking distance.

Hotel Cristallo was in a great location in Lido. Near transportation, near restaurants, shops and the beach. The staff at Hotel Cristallo were pleasant and very helpful. The rooms were very clean. Each day the rooms and bathrooms were cleaned well. The bathroom was very spacious. The breakfast had a nice variety of freshly baked croissants, pastries, cereal, yogurt, ham and cheese. The price was much better than other hotel rates in Lido and in Venice.

I stayed here three nights. The location is perfect, a short walk from the vaporetto stop. It is 15 minutes from Venice proper. All personnel were friendly, especially Max. Breakfast was good, loved the outside dining space. It was a pleasant change of pace, from the beach to the local atmosphere. Room was spacious and quiet. Had laundry done for a reasonable fee. Would stay here again!!!

We had a quad room, for 3 nights, on the second floor which was great for us as a family. Hotel manager spoke many languages including English very well. Buffet breakfast was excellent and the hotel is only a short walk from the Lido vaporetto stop. Only minor issue was that on Saturday night, the street outside was closed and a 'disco' band were playing (who were very good!!) - not a problem for us, but may disturb small children (all quiet again on the Sunday night). We would stay again.

Andrea at the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly to our family group of four. The breakfast was very good and the breakfast room and adjoining garden area are very pleasant. The location was convenient and only a short walk from the water bus stop. We especially enjoyed taking the water bus across the lagoon to and from Venice because the views were spectacular. We also walked down the street to the public beach facing the Adriatic. Great views, no crowds in May, and a very nice desk clerk. Bravissimo.

We had a four day trip to see Venice, and this is a fantastic place to stay when touring around the Venice area. The vappereto (water bus) has an excellent service to the Lido Island and from there you can get anywhere in 30 minutes. We had a good size room we were in room 36 a corner room. Staff were very helpful with local information and even gave us 6 umbrella’s to use one day when it rained.. Breakfast was fine for a continental style only complaint from one of our guests was no toast.. but the Croissant’s were fresh and tasty.

Andrea is absolutely wonderful. He knew every ferry route to get to every port in the shortest amount of time. He made great recommendations for restaurants in Lido (as well as got us some discounts!) and made a point to come over and say hello to us over breakfast to ask how our sight-seeing had been going. Staying in Lido was a lot more relaxed and far less expensive than staying in Venice centrale. Down the street in the opposite direction from the ferry is a public sand beach, and that just made the location even more perfect. See you next summer when I'm in Venezia, Andrea! Thanks for everything!

The staff were welcoming and helpful but don't rely on alarm calls booked with reception! The room was spacious and overlooking the main road, nice during the day to have the hustle and bustle outside but it can make it noisy at night. The bathroom let the room down slightly, small overall with a poor shower. Free access to the beach made up for any small issues with the hotel. Overall, good for the price but don't expect luxury.

We loved this hotel. A spacious, airy and clean room, quaintly furnished, minutes from the vaporetto and the beach. Being on the Lido’s main street, the day’s hubbub starts early and finishes late but there are rooms facing the other way if street noise bothers you. Breakfast is good though unvarying, so a little monotonous if you’re there for a week. The Lido was perfect for us, quieter than Venice itself but a short ride away. There are several vaporetto alternatives, they run frequently and all night and a week’s pass for 50 Euros gives you unlimited travel. Andrea made the stay special. He is a rarity, a man with a good heart who knows how to run a business. Speaking seven languages (including dialects) fluently he is a great communicator, ready to chat, full of humour, endlessly interesting and helpful. He knows his food and wine and gave us an excellent restaurant recommendation. Since our last trip to Venice 25 years ago much had changed and not always positively. The arrival of four cruise ships in one day will add nearly 10,000 tourists to an already-crowded city. But staying at the Lido allows you to escape the crowds or walk the city after most tourists have left for the day, and the Cristallo is an excellent home base. We certainly hope to return.

5 minutes from regular water-buses to anywhere in venice and it means you always approach towards that iconic view of the entry to the grand canal; wonderful! transit to st mark's c15 mins. supermarket between buses and hotel, and several cafes too. so, great position and actually more convenient than most hotels in city itself. hotel clean and welcoming, and english spoken. my room would have been a bit tight for two, but i was on my own. bathroom fine and the best shower i have had in an hotel; after a little while lashings of hot water and a big strong jet. breakfast continental, of course, but unlimited in quantity, and with plenty of variety. in good weather you can eat outside. no hotels in venice are cheap, but this one is very competitive on price. hotel has lift, and rooms have satellite tv; and, very rare in italian hotels, everything works! in summary, a very strong recommendation and i would certainly go there again.

To visit Venice and have a pleasant hotel at an affordable price AND to have the opportunity to spend some days at the beach, hotel Cristallo is a good choice. It's our first time in Venice and first time we stayed in Hotel Cristallo and we loved this hotel. Breakfast is in the price and is okey. The children can walk by themselves unlike on the mainland. Grocery store, ATM and all levels of dining are available within a short distance. Breakfast is more than adequate. Buy an unlimited pass for the length of your stay and go out on the water taxi at night for a view of the lights and stars. the rooms were immaculate and simple. Hotel Cristallo is a nice hotel to stay for visiting Venezia. The main issue is the fact that being not in Venezia center (but in Venezia Lido) one must spend an incredible amount of money (6.50€ one ship run of 90€) that is not acceptable, expecially if the visitors are one family of 4 people as we are (one mother+3 children) and all comes out from one pocket only. I spent 535,00€ for four nights + breakfast (we were 4 people) and 170,00€ for local transport! Which is an unacceptable percentage on the cost of the hotel.

we stayed for two nights(family of two adults and two children). we reached LIDO by vaparotte boat at 11.30 in the night and for a moment did not know whom to ask for directions to the hotel as there was hardly anyone on the road,(i think this bit of information on the hotel website will be very useful) however, it was easy to find, the first roundabout infront of vaparotte station was the s.m elisabetta which led to the main road s.m elisabetta (nice big road with lots of restaurants and shops) not scary at all in the night, very decent, hotel was a 10 min walk and not a problem at all with our bags to walk. the person at reception was very warm and friendly and said that he did not have a quadruple room so had given us two double rooms. at first we were disappointed, but when we went up and saw he had given us two nice rooms next to one another - infact it turned out to be better for the mornings with two baths for the four of us, the reception when u enter is small- so can give a feeling of ' is it okay' but it is not a five star hotel so you dont expect big reception with glossy appearance anyway. rooms were spacious and clean, they changed our sheets and cleaned rooms every day without having to tell them with fresh towels etc., the rooms are old so u might see a crack or so in the wall but perfect otherwise with a balcony (we did not have the time to sit in there) facing the road (nice road) not too noisy unless u are extremely sound sensitive which we are not. bathroom and toilet- well kept and clean with tissue towel etc., only snag the shower small (did not bother us) might be a problem for someone big edges of the shower doors at the bottom could be cleaner. i am writing this to give a realistic view rather than to complain cos i was extremely happy with the quality of everything provided for the money we paid. it defintely is more like a three star hotel than two star. only other bit was the tv in the room - a tiny box tv (we are a family of tv

Easy to find, good value, nice room, clean, good breakfast. The only thing I would welcome in addition to services provided is a local map and some information where to eat. Zdenek R., British Columbia, Canada

I offer the travel to Venice to my girlfriend, my budget wasn't so high and i find this hotel. It was easy to find and acces, there wasn't much people, it was very calm. if we had a question employees were here to answer. The price that i found was very attractive moreother for this quality.

Very nice -- it was convenient to bring my car to the Lido (by ferry) and then be a few meters away from the vaporetto that goes directly to the Venice Grand Canal.

Loved the Cristallo! Our room was clean and comfortable--big and airy, and the location was wonderful (handy to vaporetto, shopping, eating, banks). The managers were pleasant and helpful, and breakfast was delicious. We spent one day just exploring the Lido--Be sure to walk down to the beach, which is quite close and covered with shells.

It was by far the best hotel of this class we experienced in Italy. The surroundings are beautiful and so convenient, miriads of restaurants and cafes around and the water bus stop is only 2 min walk from the front door. The best breakfast, they even bake their own bread rolls! Reception staff is friendly and helpful, don't have one negative word to say about this hotel. Recommend!

Very nice hotel in the quiet surroundings of Lido di Venezia. We had an agreeable 3-bed room with balcony facing the main street. The service was nice and friendly. Breakfast was richer than it is normally to be expected in Italy. (Also juices, a selection of sausages and ham, cheese and jogurths were offered.) The breakfast room is however a little too small (in summer the garden will be probably used, and then there is sufficient space.) The airconditioning unit in the room did not work at all, but temperatures in October were not that high.... The hotel is situated very close to the Lido boat terminal (only a few minutes to walk and easily to find), where ferry boats of Alilaguna have a stop on there way from the airport Marco Polo to the old town. Also Venice can easily be reached by normal ACTV transport boats. (20 minutes to Piazza San Marco, which is just opposite to the Lido island.) The hotel Cristallo is a very good alternative for the over-expensive hotels of Venice itself and we felt overall very comfortable there.

A very pleasant, comfortable 3 star that sits just off the main road on the Lido. Traffic noise isn't too bad but there is some to contend with in the early morning. Spacious room, easy walking distance to vaporetto stop to Venice proper with the advantage of mellow vibe of the Lido plus more room (with ensuite) for your money than in Venice itself. Just the place if you want to keep costs down without losing standards.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Cristallo very much and will certainly come back! It is great being in the middle of the Lido-summer-beach-life and at the same time being in Venice. The landlord is very friendly and competent! Sitting in the small, but lovely "garden" and having the excellent breakfast was a wonderful start into the day. We also appreciated the "private beach" very much and the great Lido-snack nearby.

We had a very small room with 2 twin beds, which was adequate, and the bathroom was modern and clean. Others in our group had more spacious rooms. The weather was extremely hot, so the air conditioner in the room had a difficult time keeping the room cool (but at least there WAS air conditioning & a ceiling fan, too). The carpet was due for cleaning, but the sheets/towels were crisp & like new. The hotel's location is excellent...so close to the vaparetto stop, near restaurants and other shopping, and a short walk to the beach.

Everyone was polite, pleasant, and professional. The room was better than I had expected. While Lido isn't Venice island, it's close enough and the savings over Venice hotels is really worth it. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the waterbus stop.

It would have been nice to have an electric kettle (to boil water) as all the other hotels we stayed at in Europe (Berlin, Prague, Austria)had. The breakfast could have more of a selection as well.

We traveled with our 84-year old father to show him some important sights in Italy. For Venice we chose Cristallo on the Lido mainly because we wanted to take our rental car with us. We had a lovely stay for our two nights in Venice! The staff at the Cristallo is friendly and jovial. The owners take pride in their breakfast buffet. It is served in a spacious room with terrace. It was varied and everything was delicious. Staying at the Cristallo you can observe relaxed visitors who come for an extended vacation with the beach only minutes away by foot. We wished we could have stayed longer. The water busses are also just minutes away. We enjoyed our easy commute to San Marco, etc. We were allowed to choose our room. We had a lovely bright remodeled bathroom, the other choice had a balcony but the bathroom was dark and dreary. The hallways show that the hotel is an old building, but the elevator worked, and our room was clean and comfortable. We would recommend Cristallo B&B highly and would love to visit there again for a longer vacation.

My daughter and I shared room 12 which had a beautiful bathroom and two twin beds. We cannot overstate how lovely Lido was and how wonderful it was to stay in a place with a terrific breakfast and nice patio out back. The air conditioning was very good and the cleanliness always good. Had a small problem with the drain getting plugged but it was handled right away. Andrea, the owner, is very nice and speaks many languages. I highly recommend this hotel, particularly for families with teens. We liked the laid-back family atmosphere on Lido and the quick access to the beach was also nice even though we burn! The daily ride on the vaparetto to points of interest in Venice was a delight...we loved the open space of the lagoon and the views were great. One place we would NOT recommend on Lido is the expensive Gran Viale (sp?) restaurant. AVOID this place as it is over-priced and the food is bad. Lots of other small places to enjoy a meal nearby. Also Lido has basic amenities like a grocery store, pharmacy, and many shops just steps away from the hotel. You won't find the old world charm of Venice here but you will find great value. Buy the 3-7 day transportation passes for quick access to the vaparettos. Cheap and easy. We would definitely stay on Lido again and at the Cristallo for sure. Andrea was even able to find someone who did sme laundry for us which we really appreciated!

Several good restaurants near the hotel - much less expensive than those in Venice. Great place to stay - the hotel has a beach hut about 500m from the hotel - great place to have a swim in the Adriatic and cool down after a day on the water taxis and streets of Venice.

Our room was very clean and comfortable. We had a large, black marble bathroom with a extra long tub. The beach here was clean and they have a nice changing cabin and lounge chairs. Great for relaxing after touring Venice. They offered a large selection for breakfast. Very easy to get to the heart of Venice without having the crowds or expense.

The Hotel Cristallo is an excellent budget option for those who wish to visit Venice economically and base themselves on the Lido.It is a five minute walk to the vaporetto stop and a ten minute boat ride to San Marco. The view approaching San Marco from the Lido is one of the great experiences Venice offers. The rooms are comfortable and air-conditioned and the buffet breakfast is generous. The hotel staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The proprietor insisted we use the hotel's private beach even after we had checked out. Highly reccommended.

This was an excellent hotel. The rooms are quite nice. The furniture was a little old but in quite good condition. Breakfast was continental and of the buffet type. Hot croissants were the highlight of the breakfast and you're given the option of either dining inside or outside. The staff was very friendly and spoke adequate English. We asked for directions to the beach and were given instructions on how to find the hotel's own private beach reserved for hotel guests only which we found to be quite impressive. Overall, this is a fantastic little hotel that we would recommend to anyone.

I am extremely happy with the stay I had at this hotel. The prices are amazing, the location is great and the people are friendly. As a female traveling alone, I felt safe and secure staying at this hotel. They answered my questions without hesitation or attitude. The location is easy accessible to and from the waterbuses. Just make a left and follow the main street and there you are! For being in such a busy location, the hotel is amazingly quiet. I would stay at this hotel without a doubt. I just might even do that in the next couple of weeks!

I stayed in a large triple/quad room at the front of the hotel, and was pleased with the comfortable bed and overall appearance of the room. The hotel is in a lovely situation, convenient, pretty, great for the beach and the vaporetto line. The staff were all friendly, and the manager particularly fluent in English and extremely helpful. Breakfast was excellent by Italian standards, lots of choice. I would definately stay here again, though might request a quiter room if they had one. It was just as well that there was air conditioning and a ceiling fan, as I would not want to have tried to get the children to sleep with the window open. There was quite a bit of street noise, as the hotel is on the main shopping and eating street. I also liked staying on the lido - slightly cheaper and definately less busy than the main part of Venice, and more family friendly. The beach was a great asset at the end of a hard day sightseeing. The hotel has use of a private beach, which is worth the extra 2 mins walk, as it is much less busy than the public beach, and clean. In summary, very pleased. The only people I would not recommend this hotel to would be people only staying for 1-2 days in Venice, as the vaporetto trip (about 40 mins to train station, less to San Marco) would eat into precious time!

We had a great time on this very charming island. At first I was worried about not booking a room in the main part of Venice, but we soon found out we made the right decision. Staff at the hotel were very friendly. Everything about it was very nice. It's only a short boat ride (public water buses!) to get to the main touristy part and it was nice to come back to Lido at the end of the day and mix with locals in the local restaurants and cafes. Highly recommended!
