The website says the rooms face San Marco Square. Wrong. My room faced the roofs of old buildings in the backyard. Even the restaurant which is considered to have the best view does not face San Marco square. You can only see it if you stick out of the window and look right. The room was tiny and not conveniently arranged. The bathroom though was great.

Fantastic. It was not a cheap hotel, but the service and accommodation were first class. We stayed in room 103 which had recently been 'done up'. It had a tiny balcony overlooking St Mark's Cathedral, beautiful furniture and the bathroom was wonderful! Staff were very professional and extremely helpful. I would go back there tomorrow if I could!

Hotel is on very good location. Not so crowded, but not so far from the center of city. Staffs are very cooperative and helpful. Mattress is quite small and hard.Room's size is quite small for triple people but it's cozy any way.

Very nice hotel. A little hard to find using the directions provided. Staff for the most part was friendly and helpful. Doorman was great. Complementary breakfast was very good. Location, right on the edge of San Marco square was excellent. We left the window on our room open and we could hear the orchestras playing in the square. Room was well furnished and clean. Note: you have to climb stairs to get into hotel. I would stay at this hotel again.

We enjoyed our stay. Free welcome drink. We recommend to take advantage of the free boat-ride to Murano, witch is exiting. And you don't need to buy the glass. Hotel restaurant offers a pleasant meal away from the crowds. Check in: Monday, July 24, 2006 Check out: Wednesday, July 26, 2006 Room: 1 Double (179.00 EUR per night) Total price: 358.00 EUR

We were married in Venice, and the staff at the Concordia were exemplary in assisting us with all of our details... recommendations for restaurants, florist, etc. Above that, the hotel was fantastic! The location was most convenient, and romantic to hear the chamber music of Piazza San Marco through our window. The concierge arranged for great day trips to Murano and Burano for our group... we would definitely stay there again.

This was our first stay in Venice. The room was not updated, the bed was hard and not confortable, my fiancee had backaches after, the desk chair was ready to fall apart... I stayed in two other cities, with rooms MUCH better, with comparable pricing.

Excellent location, helpful staff (bartender and front desk staff - bartender was very nice and advised it's cheaper to buy Murano glass in Venice rather than on the Murano Glass tour the hotel offers). Main drawback was the shower which kept flooding the bathroom. Good value for price, would recommend.

Hotel has good location, but reception is very focused on selling gondola rides and other tours. They promise special treatment on gondolas and don't deliver. Short on duration, lacking commentary on sites from gondolier, no music, etc.

We have just enjoyed Easter weekend staying in this lovely hotel, we emailed the hotel before we left and they organised a water taxi to great us and had upgraded our room to a room with a view to die for. We actually had a terrace that overlooked St Marks square and it was beautiful. Great location, great service, friendly staff and beautiful weekend. Would not hesitate to book this hotel again.

The hotel was very nice and very well located. It can be a challenge to find your way around Venice, but the location of Concordia makes it easy to find the hotel when you want to. Breakfast is very good. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, but there was substantial pressure to purchase one of their tours, gondola rides, etc.

The position of this hotel is unrivalled and the breakfast is generous but the rooms are very dated and by the choice of decor and meanness of the bedding one is left with the impression that the position is all that one is paying for. It might just be worth the premium, particularly in the high season when the city is so crowded that walking around is a chore, but I would not return.

This was a quaint little hotel in an excellent location. Rm 215 was facing the basilica in St. Mark's Square, and had recently been updated with a new bathroom (beautifully done in black slate!)and a flat panel tv. Wonderful staff, great breakfast, perfect location, but you will pay a premium for the space. Also, they set up a wonderful personal walking tour of Venice with Maria Teresa Simoes, a delightful woman who loves showing Venice to anyone who will walk beside her. What a wonderful way to spend your first anniversary! Thank you Venere!

We really like the hotel, the service was exceptional, our room was 310 with a great view of San Marcos Square and with a very nice setting. Our kids stayed on 307 which was a little hot(we traveled during the end of July) we asked the hotel to move our kids to another room room and they did it the next day without problems. I ranked this hotel as one of the best in our 14 day trip, and we only stayed in 5 star hotels, but this one had something my wife and I could not explain, it was small, cozy, and you can say kind of "cute".

Everything about this hotel was wonderful - guests were treated with respect and made to feel welcome, a feeling rarely found in the majority of hotels worldwide- regardless of their star rating. The Concierge contacted us on receipt of our booking and arranged an English speaking guide and private taxi to meet us at the station. The rooms are well appointed and the location, in the corner of the Piazza San Marco, is perfect. We thoroghly enjoyed our stay and intend to stay there on our next visit to Venice. PS Don't bother with the trip to the Murano Glassworks - it's a tourist rip-off and prices are three times as higher than in the souvenir shops.

The Concordia was an excellent hotel with very friendly and helpful staff, especially the bar staff. The bar was small but welcoming and the service was exceptionally good. The location was good but slightly noisy at night and there were no good restaurants in the immediate area. The hotel had a restaurant but we chose not to eat there as it was quite expensive, however it did look very good. The breakfasts were nice but they did charge extra for fruit juice which is the first hotel I have stayed in that does so. I would be happy to stay in the Concordia again if I return to Venice.

This Property does not have Air Conditioning. Entire Hotel was hot & humid. Most hotels, restaurants & shops have a sign claiming to be air conditioned but few really are. Breakfast was minimal even by European Standards. Eggs, etc. all cost extra. Do not fall for paying extra for a very restricted view of the side of San Marco. Be advised that ATMs tend to run out of cash on weekends - be prepared.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who values very good quality and high standards at reasonable prices. The hotel is easy to find, and is the only one which actually overlooks St Marks Square. The staff are first class and multilingual. A welcome drink at the bar, we were introduced to Antonio the Maitre de who, amazingly remembered our names for the whole of the 5 night stay. We saw our room, asked to see a number of others (which was not a problem) and chose the one we liked best. Some are better than others. There is a really good buffet (continental) breakfast, but if you want cooked items they are available at reasonable prices. The breakfast service by the staff is attentive, my coffee cup, was never empty. The Hotel has a restaurant with a cordon bleu chef, 45Euros, very good quality, beautifully presented and served but on the occasion we ate there it was rather quiet. Definitely worth experiencing though and real value compared to the better quality restaurants in Venice. The hotel can organise a walking tour. We had already organised our own, but the people we met who had used the hotel's offering were extremely pleased an I think it is a much more personal guide. The location of the hotel to St Marks square is a big plus as you can take in the evening atmosphere of the square and never be far from "home". Top marks to the Concordia. We will go back again.

Everything was nice... The only issue we had was with the staff... concergie tried to lure us with gondola rides and other daily tours.. We were not keen on availing these tours from hotel. We wanted to check these in the market and pick the best deal. It looked like they were not quite happy when we booked these tours ourselves.. Other than this, everything else was very good. My advise is : where ever you stay, dont book any tours from hotel.. In a low season, you can bargain and get a good deal.

We liked our room a lot. Nice venitian decor and marble bath of good size. It looked out towards the Doges Palace. The bells were beautiful to hear (though a bit early). We found the hotel easily because we had read of others having trouble and giving instructions. We used the small bar to meet up with friends. The restaurant suggestion (Franz)was excellent but extremely expensive. Nice breakfast.

We arrived early at the Hotel Concordia. We expected only to leave our baggage and wander the city until a more reasonable hour. However, the hotel was very accomodating. We were given free bar snacks and complementary drinks from the bar whilst they made up our rooms there and then. The rooms were of good standard, and of course nothing can beat being able to open your window and see the streets of Venice. I had been to Venice many times over the years, staying in the surrounding area and arriving daily by ferry, but this was my first stay in Venice itself. I was not disapointed. Yes the room was of the typical Italian size, but the service and atmosphere second to none. Unfortunately I did not get the room with the view over St. Marks, I have not idea how much that would have cost. Our room cost approx £150 per night, which considering the location and service is reasonable. We had a great stay.

Excellent location and very spacious bathroom by Italian standards (even North American standards). Staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and well versed in English. Our only objection was the exorbitant gondala ride you could purchase at the hotel for 110 Euros (sharing with another couple no less) which according to the concierge "was selling very quickly" - we negotiated our own ride for 70 Euros - still a lot but the Gondoliers will not got any lower. Otherwise, the room was spacious and clean but then again the price was pretty high as well. Steps to St. Mark's Piazza was the real bonus. Overall great stay.

Although Concordia faces the St. Mark's, it doesn't have a really good view of the square, unless you choose the top room with a terrace. This fact should be reflected on the price of the room 'overlooking' St. Mark's Square. Otherwise, choosing other 4-star hotels nearby might be smarter.

The hotel was everything I expected. The situation was perfect, central for St Marks and other attractions. The public areas especially were lovely as we had travelled with a large party-9 in total and this was very nice to meet in. The service of the staff was impecable. Nothing was too much trouble. The finishing touches, plates of cakes served with coffee etc were lovely. A special mention must be said for the gentleman who served behind the bar. He was also there first thing in the morning for breakfast! He gave 100% attention to all, no matter what their ages{we had three teenagers in the group} I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone, and would happily return my self, hopefully in the not too distant future.

The hotel is beautiful, perfectly situated and the staff excellent. The noise level from the outside is problematic, but that is Italy in general. In general this hotel is well worth the discounted price, but I certainly wouldn't pay full price to stay as close to the main tourist area for the noise.

The rooms we got , 1 big, 1 middle, 2 small. When we could get 4 big or 4 middle rooms we feel perfect. Because the small room was to small, we couldn't find the post to put our baggage(cm. 75Suit case) for world travellers. The persons who works in Front, are very kind and nice. But the breakfast room's wasn't good. They gave Tea and Coffee wrong table of the Japanese group. And they were claiming inside with loud voice in Italian. I could understand both laungage, so I have claimed them. In any case that morning started so bad!!

The Concordia is an excellent hotel if you are willing to pay a little extra money to have the benefit of being in St. Mark's Square. We upgraded our room to one that looked out on the Square, and it was very nice! Staff was very friendly and accommodating, but a caution ... This was the first leg of our 4-city trip, and we believe we naively got taken in by the Hotel Concierge in terms of a hard sell for both a "free" water taxi to a Glass Factory on Murano, as well as a recommended personal guided tour of the "Hidden Venice". The Glass Factory tour is almost certainly a ripoff - with prices overstated for glassware that probably is probably made somewhere else (Czechoslovakia?). If you are American, you will feel pressured to tip the endless number of people you are passed off to for this "free" tour. Also, the guided "Hidden Venice" tour was not worth it. I had already walked through the same areas on my own. Had this not been our first stop in Italy, we almost certainly would have said "no thanks" to both and been a lot better off financially! Despite this, the location is tremendous! Go out into Piazza San Marco at night and enjoy the free musical entertainment provided at a couple of the outdoor restaurants.

We had head the other reviews so we were able to find it no problem. It's in front of the McDonalds. The location was great, right off of Saint Marco. You are always a short walk from a nice afternoon nap if it gets too hot outside. It has great restaurants just outside the door. It does not have a lift for gondolas or water taxis but it did not bother us. We did not have the breakfast. We would stay there again.

The breakfast buffet was nice. The price is WAY too much for what you get. The rooms were TINY. The beds were HORRIBLY HARD.

The hotel was relatively small. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The service generally was excellent. The rooms were quite small with one of the smallest bathrooms I have every had in a hotel. However, the room was very comfortable and given that it was small offered everything which one needed. It is also worth noting that the hotel is right on St Marks Square, which is a fabulous location, I would have no hesitation is recommending the concordia. When you are in Venice you do not spend much time in your room so the size was not important. Despite the size the room offered everything one needed, a good comfortable bed, two small armchairs and interesting antique furniture which was fun. The breakfast buffet, which was included, in the daily rate was very well presented and really excellent.

Very warm and professional staff upon welcoming, breakfast, etc. Above average in all respects. Recommendations for restaurants, gondola ride, were superb. Rooms were excellent, clean, and fresh. We will definitely return to this hotel.

The staff was constantly trying to push special "deals" that were only available for a "limited time" Like taking a gondola through the canals for 100 euros. The rooms were small but comfortable and quiet. Very close to St. Marks, but the area was too commercial. I would rather have stayed on Lido and gotten a daily Ferry ticket (great value) and traveled about.

A very good hotel. We really ejoyed the location, right on St Mark's square. The staff were really good (but pushy on all the tourist offerings packages the had) but very helpful. Great place to stay in Venice

After bad experiences in Rome and in Florence, I had a bad taste of Italy, but fortunately the Concordia made our vacation a good experience again. The service is very good, the breakfast is excellent, all, but yes all of the staff is very helpfull......all speak English and always try to help you with whatever you need as a tourist. Thank you again Concordia.

Hotel location was fantastic, in the middle of St. Mark's square. Very ideal location. Hotel staff was very welcoming and responsive to our inquiries. Hotel was nice and clean. Service was excellent. Rooms were quiet. Price though a little high (we were there in July)was worth it as continental breakfast is included. OK to pay a little more to get very good service, great hotle and great location. Buffet served was very good, and was changed daily. A lot of restaurants and shops nearby. Would definitely stay at Concordia again.

My wife and I enjoyed the facility. It was up to expectations, great location, wonderfully helpful staff. The noise level was high but that was primarily because the location was next to many outside restaurants so it should be expected.

Excellent hotel with friendly staff recommending cheaper gondola cruises - good location just near San Marco, so you don't have to take the boat 100 times for your visits. But the entrance of the hotel is not found easily : you have to find it behind the place in the crowded "calle larga san marco") Choose a non-overlooking room and it's quiet !

We only stayed one night unfortunately, though we had a very enjoyable stay. The hotels location is very convenient, especially as only had a night to explore the city. We overslept and missed breakfast so I can't give my verdict on that. Our room was nice and quaint, the bathroom was well equiped and a good size.

What a fantasic find, the Concordia Hotel. We had an absolutely fantastic view of one of the most spectacular landmarks in the world, St Marks Square, and all from our room. The service and standard of the hotel is second to none and value for money astounding. I would reccommend the hotel to anyone visiting Venice in the future.

We enjoyed are stay at this hotel very much. from outside the hotel, you might be forgiven for thinking that this hotel was distinctly 'average'. However, as with most non religious buildings, the outside does not give a fair picture of the inside. The hotel, overall is fantastic, the service we received was second to none. I would really recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great spot -- but a bit noisy. I would easily recommend and return. The employees and location are exceptional -- best in my recent multi-country four week travel! Also - thank you Venere for your excellent referrals. The bookings we made through your company (4 in Italy) were all very good.
