The location is great, although not quiet. We had a family group with 4 rooms, and none of our converters/adaptors would work in any of the rooms. Very disconcerting as one of our family members needed electricity for a medical device.

Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to everyone. The staff were very helpful and let us store our bags for free while we visited the museums etc. It was within walking distance of St Mark's Square and practically next to the Bridge of Sighs. Easy access to the Waterbus too as the Hotel was just down the alleyway from the Grand canal. Excellent location.

although web page said hotel had a lift, it only goes to the 3rd floor and our room was on the 4th floor. to be fair though, hotel staff carried our luggage up the flight of stairs.

A pleasant surprise! Having read negative reviews and heard much criticism of hotels in Venice, we were expecting to be ripped off, but the Hotel Commercio e Pellegrino came as a very pleasant surprise. The room was spotless and the staff were courteous, competent and helpful. The breakfast room was well run -- none of the normal chaos and overcrowding -- and the breakfast, as far as Italian breakfasts go, was good. The hotel is well situated but the noise level in our room was fine. Only one word of caution: the location of the hotel on Google maps is wrong, and if you try to locate the Calle delle Rasse, Google has gotten that wrong too. The hotel is in fact very close to the Piazza San Marco and to get there be sure to follow the instructions provided by the hotel staff.

Terrific Hotel with good food and excellent value for the cost. To be in this position, so close to San Marco and the sea front was brilliant. I cannot recommend this hotel more. Our arrival at the Zaccariah Vaporretto stop was easy and just across from the lane leading to the hotel, Calle Rasse, at the other end of the lane is a selection of good value bar-cafe-restaurants and shops one of which is a lovely gelateria.

The hotel is in an excellent position, is sound proofed from the busy streets and offers all necessities for a short stay. The mini-bar has limited supplies but offers great value compared to Venice prices. We enjoyed our stay and would return to this hotel.

Just what we needed, only seconds from a Vaporetta (water-bus) stop and a couple of minutes walk to the heart of Saint Mark's Square. A clean comfortable room, with ensuite facilities and efficient air conditioning, plus plenty of hanging room for clothes. Breakfast had plenty of choices although no "Full English" (just as well for the heat outside!). Reception desk had very friendly, helpful staff and we were able to leave our luggage safely after check out (11.00 a.m. approx) until we had to depart for evening flight. Would recommend this reasonably priced hotel in a beautiful but expensive city.

Hotel location is amazing. We took line 51 from train station and disembarked at s. Zaccario. Two minutes later we were at the hotel. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to help. Room was smaller, but cozy and clean. AC, minibar and TV at its best shape. Bathroom was spacious and clean. Breakfast area very nice, however the lack of variety of the food was small shade of our perfect stay. Salami, ham and cheese everyday, croissants with strange sugary glaze and cold drink (very high juice concentrate) was not that you expect every day. Cold tasty milk saved it a little. Wi-Fi should be for free these days or at least the hours and price could be little bit balanced. Location was really the best benefit. Few minutes walk to S. Marco, even shorter distance to boat lines (Murano, Lido, train station - short or long distance via Grand Canal) Overall I would recommend this hotel to all sort of types of visitors. Location, lift and super staff will make your holidays/business trip more pleasant.

This hotel was the perfect place to stay in Florence. Just 100m from the Ponte Vecchio, 5 minutes from the Uffizi Gallery, 2 minutes to the Pitti Palace and 10 minutes walk to the Duomo. The staff were very friendly and happy, very eager to help. The only problem we had was finding the hotel. It's number 13 however there it is not between 11 and 12 as you'd expect. It's further up the street nearer the Pitti Palace. Excellent room, great shower, free drinks on arrival. We had a wonderful stay in this hotel, breakfast was good.

The hotel was in an excellent location, less than a ten minute walk to St. Mark's Square. The hotel staff were very friendly and the room the breakfast was surprisingly plentiful. I was quite disappointed with my room in that it was very small and the furnishings very outdated. I was shocked at how small the bed was. I don't think I have slept on a bed that small since I was a child. If I were to visit Venice again I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again, but I would pay the extra money for a double room.

A great 5 night stay in a great location. The construction work nearby was unfortunate due to the associated noise. The location was perfect. and excellent value for money. the room was beautiful, and very clean. the street on which the hotel is located is full of lively bars and places to eat, so close to St Marks square yet incredible value for money, in addition, the hotel it very close to the Zaccharia waterbus stop, which is very convenient for arrival and departure with bags. Venice was incredible, and when we return, we will stay here again without a doubt. fantastic hotel, great value.

I had a single room on the 4th floor. The elevator only goes to the 3rd floor so I had to walk up a flight of stairs; I was not offered assistance with my bags. The room had a twin bed. The width of the room would have barely fit a double bed. Locaton is good, 24 hour desk is useful, breakfast is good.

Nice place overall. The rooms were very clean. Breakfast was decent. My biggest complaint is that the beds are very hard, but that seems normal in Europe. They only give you one scrawny pillow per person, but were happy to give me another when requested. The location was excellent. Close to the Grand Canal and vaporetto stops, and St. Mark's Square and there were a lot of restaurants close by.

We really enjoyed the hotel except for one thing - the airconditioner is programmed to only switch on when the outside temperature reaches 25 degrees... which it wasn't. But in our rooms it was 35 degrees or more and we had no form of cooling. The windows couldn't be opened because of the noise and the air-con wouldn't work - this led to fairly uncomfortable nights. Management, a strong suggestion - you need to remedy this!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Commercio e Pellegrino in Venice. The location was great - right in the middle of things and right beside the waterbus stop. The hotel was pretty much exactly as the website described it and the previous comments were very fair. While I was in Venice I took a trip to Burano island - that's a lovely place. The most memorable meal was in Taverna San Lio in Castello.

This small hotel was in the perfect location and very easy to get to. Just took the #82 boat from the vaporetto docks and got off at the last stop, San Zaccaria. Just a short walk to the right over one bridge and we were there. Location, Location, Location, as they say. Everything was close and convenient. We had a lovely breakfast and the room, while not as large as we are used to in the US, was plenty big enough and had a very comfortable bed. Unless you just have to have a canal front room, this is a wonderful place to stay. It is just a short walk to Saint Mark's Square, the Doge's palace, lots of museums and the water boats.

Commercio e Pellegrino is located very close to St Zacaria Vapporeto Stop (just 50 meters accross the stop), so you don't have to juggle with your luggage trhough the bridges. The hotel is very quiet, clean, also with new amenities. Staffs are very nice and helpfull, I asked some questions for direction and they provide useful information with maps too. Very recommended and would like to come back when I visit Venice again. From thr Vienna Airport at Marco Polo you can take a Buss to Piazza Rome and then take vapporeto (1 or 82) to St. Zacaria.

Despite arriving at dusk we had no problem finding the hotel. The location so close to the boat stops is a great advantage. Our room was comfortable and quiet, just as we had requested. The reception staff were helpful with any questions we asked. The choice at the buffet breakfast was more than enough to start the day. We have already recommended Hotel Commercio & Pellegrino to friends and would certainly return.

Hotel very easy to find. Great location-close to vaporetto (not far to haul baggage-only one bridge), St.Marks, shops, restaurants, bars etc. Laundry not far. There is a market near by but I never found it. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great bathroom/shower. Nice room, not huge but comfortable. AC was loud but cool air appreciated. Windows kept out street noise. Good beds. Nice furnishings. Breakfast ok, cereal, meat, cheese, bread etc. Only drawback - no lounge area to just hang out in. Weather was great though so we weren't there much. This is my favorite neighborhood in Venice. You are right in the middle of everything but walk three blocks farther inland and you are away from the crowds. Venice is expensive but this place is a good value for the location.

We have stayed in this hotel at least six times and have found it very comfortable. Although the rooms are on the small side and can be noisy if you get located on an alley. The bathroom is typical, terrible hair dryer & small showers but not any different then many of the same quality hotels in Venice. This hotels best features are it's location and it's Staff. Excellent two nights spent here. Only downfall was having a twin bedroom (two single beds) rather than the double room as requested but even this wasn't too much of an issue. Good value for money when considering location. Breakfast was excellent which was made better by having a waitress who was always happy to help even if you turned up to breakfast with only ten minutes to go.
