Hotel Castello - Venice

When we arrived the man at the desk took our passpotehrts, aix hous later, when I Asked for them,he gave me the passports of other passengers. I didn't realize. Fortunately the owners of the passports I had complained and had my right passports again with me. The shower had no curtain, the lavatory was blocked, the last day it crashed and was inposssible to use. People at the desk did their best but was completely insufficient. Poor service. I had three nights prepaid and had nothing to do. I don't recommend this hotel at all. I will complain with the owner by mail.

I did not like this hotel. It smelt bad. It was not nice. Decoration was horrible. Bedroom and bathroom was clean. The service was not very profesinal.

A nice holiday in a right hotel.

Overall hotel clean and comfortable. Dining room very small and at breakfast guests had to wait for tables to become free. Also slow in replenishing breakfast items, i.e. juices and milk, glasses, spoons and bowls. Would benefit from a nice lounge to sit in and also hospitality tray in bedrooms. Also neon light outside hotel broken so would be very hard to find after dark.

We stayed in Venice 3 nights, and Hotel Castello was a wonderful place to stay. Near to San Marcos, but far enough to be out of the crowds. Lots of shopping and restaurants just steps away. Easy walk from the Grand Canal, even with luggage. The rooms in Italy are smaller than in America, but there was ample space for our belongings, and comfortable beds. The shower was small, but worked! And the Air Conditioning worked, which was always pleasant to return to after walking the lovely canals of Venice.

Very nice hotel for the price and a good, quiet location. We were there with a group in the off season and had 4 rooms, all were nice, though one was small, and the bathrooms were nice. Good value.

MY ROOM WAS CLEAN AND QUIET. THE HOTEL SURROUNDINGS ARE EXCELLENT.

The hotel is near of everything! Personel is really friendly and willing to help you in any thing. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel wasn't as difficult to find as I thought it would be. Once we got in the general vicinity we just asked a store keeper for further directions and we had no difficulty finding the hotel. Just remember to look down the little back alleys. The hotel offered a free taxi and tour to watch a glass master on one of the nearby islands. This was enjoyable but unless you already have a vapretto (water bus) pass you will have to pay to get off of the island. The hotel needs to replace some threadbare carpets, and there is no elevator to take up heavy suitcases, but our stay was very pleasant and they have the fluffiest, flakiest croissants I have ever eaten for breakfast that are simply delicious. Although we did not stay on the Grand Canal we were close enough to it that I did not feel I was missing anything.As an added bonus, you are so close to San Marco.

The room was great, but it was difficult to find.

Ci siamo trovati veramente bene in questa struttura ed è molto vicina al centro di Venezia. Lo raccomando a tutti!

Good stay in Venice as a place. Hotel room too small, bath was very small and breakfast was identical everyday and somewhat minimal in quality and content.

This hotel was ideally situated, but our room was very very noisy as it faced onto a side street.Next time we will go for an inward facing room.Otherwise everything was fine with very nice staff.
