The location is near the St Marco jetty. Easy to find and central to the main tourist attraction. Spacious room.

my daughter, mother and me have stayed in this hotel for 2 days, i really recommend the hotel to everyone, location is perfect, room provided for me was good. just breakfast was very poor, in this price better breakfast had to be given.

The hotel has an excellent location; the room service to the room without an extra charge is convenient. However, the quality and cleanness of the room doesn’t justify the price (170 euros the night).

The location of the Casanova hotel is its best feature. The reception personal were friendly and helpful. The rooms, thank goodness, had a good air conditioning system. It was hot in July! Breakfast was more than adequate but most of all the location proved to be most helpful. After a short trip to Lido, we came back to stay at this hotel before leaving for Roma.

This a great location and only a short walk to San Marco and very close to a boat stop. Lots of restaurants and shopping in the area. Only down side is I could hear the people above me very clearly. Other than that its a very nice place to stay.

This was our first visit to Venice, so my wife and I did not know what to expect. It was very easy to find and in a great location right next the St Marcos Square. The staff was nice and very helpful.

This visit was for Carnevale. The hotel is very close to Piazza San Marco - about 2 minutes walk.

El hotel es caro pero pagas por la localización del mismo que es fantástica (está al lado Plaza de San Marcos) y las habitaciones están bien, por lo menos la que nos dieron a nosotros.

Our room was great, except for the fact that it had ants, and a horrible smell. The front desk was informed of this, and did give us some spray for the smell.

Hotel was a little hard to find, since I hadn't been to Venice in 30 years. But the staff was wonderful and the hotel was very convienent.

Not bad...we would stay there again. The only drag was the street noise. The overall condition of the hotel is getting old. The location was very close to were the water taxi dropped us and right next to Marco Square.

Casanova is a very nice hotel to stay, if you plan to have a couple of days in Venice central area, since it’s very close to Saint Marcos square and the boats (essential to get around the islands), not to mention all the stores around, including restaurants. The people are nice and the continental breakfast is very good, since the food (and everything else!) is very expensive. We found the elevator a bit dusty… a detail simple to correct, we think. Overall, as a tree star hotel, it delivers what you expect in a five star location!

Casanova should belong to two star lodge with very old used furnitures (like those used in an orphanage). Floor is wavy, I felt like walking on a boat with floor moving. Never worth me Euro 205 a night. Will never go there if I can get room from other places in last moment.

I was slightly disappointed not to get the room on the photos, but this is usual rather than not. The best thing about the hotel was the location, which is unbeatable! The price was good (for Venice) and the room was indeed clean and spacious enough. We never managed to get up for breakfast, but Cafe Florian is so close that it never mattered...not to mention the superb salmon pannini just across from the hotel's entrance. The concierge was professional-looking and acting, but not as well informed as we would like them to be.

We traveled with 8 people and 3 generations-all enjoyed HOtel Casanova-location could not be better-very central- breakfast was very substantial and enjoyable- rooms were very clean and large- elevator was a great help with luggage. Would definitely use again.

My husband I stayed at Hotel Casanova for one night in March. We spent two weeks in France/Italy and this hotel was one of our favorites. Very charming, very clean, great location, wonderful staff, good breakfast. We highly recommend it and will definitely stay here again next time we're in Venice.

We were eight women on our last night in Italy. We had two rooms. Very clean and enough room, but not roomy. The bathroom was large and modern. Very close to San Marco Square. There was some noisy foot traffic in the middle of the night, but no big dreal. If you don't care to be on a canal I would highly reccommend this hotel. It is surrounded by shopping and eateries. Great fun!!

The Hotel Casanova is located just off St Mark's Square so is ideally situated to explore the whole of Venice. The rooms are basic, but clean and spacious, although a little old-fashioned. The shower above the bath only allows a sitting shower. The continental breakfast is adequate. The staff are mostly friendly and helpful especially Charles on night duty. The one drawback of the hotel is the noise especially if you have a room on the front. The piano bar opposite plays music til midnight and the noise in the street below can be sometimes annoying.

We loved this place. By European standards, our room had plenty of space (be sure to ask for a room on the fourth floor-they have lofted ceilings). Their location is perfect-right off St. Mark's Square. They are close to some good restaurants (Osteria da Carla and Osteria Enoteca San Marco). We stayed during mid-March for the off-season price, which was a steal. Their breakfast was better than many other Italian hotels, but you should not have high expectations when it comes to an Italian breakfast (bread and coffee is the norm). We fell in love with the magic of Venice and believe that staying at this nice hotel in the perfect location had a lot to do with that.

USA, Mar 2004
The room was good. We enjoyed our stay. A bit noisy in the mornings. We could hear merchants doing their morning errands. We were located across from a restaurant that played the piano from 10 till midnight...that was soothing. Overall, I am pleased with the hotel and the staff.

Italy, Mar 2004
I found the service excellent and the staff polite and helpful. My only complaint there was that we had a wait quite a while for breakfast to be brought up to our room. If you offer a service it should be quick and efficient, I don't see why I should be kept waiting just because there were a lot of people havig breakfast downstairs. On the whole we enjoyed our stay. Although, due to the fact that we were in the centre of Venice, it was noisy and not as peaceful as I had founf La meridiana the previous night.

we arrived early in the morning , and they let us use our room several hours before official check in time, which we appreciated. However the room was not what we had booked and paid for and it took us three different rooms before we finally were given the room we asked for in the original internet booking. The rooms were clean but have an old worn grubby feel to them. Very gloomy with hardly any natural light. Also very noisy both inside and outside the hotel. The staff were polite. The location is excellent for walking around Venice so if you only plan to sleep in the room, leaving early and coming back late its OK

The rooms were very small. Any person suffering from claustraphobia should not enter this hotel. A choice of rooms should be given, or the price adjusted accordingly. The size of the room offered marked the weekend in Venice.

We had a family of 4 with 2 adults and 2 teens. We all stayed in one room which was nicer on the pocket book. And we all had enough room. We were pleased with this hotel. The best thing is location. Right next to St. Marco Square and tourist things. The hotel arranged a free visit to a glass factory for us that we enjoyed, but had to take a water buss home after not buying any of the way over priced art. I recommend this hotel for traveling families.

Good hotel, but rooms facing the street are noisy because of the music coming from the restaurant next door. Otherwise everything is o.k.

Everything was as anticipated based on hotels website and previous reviews. Easy to find. Good location close to shopping, restaurants, transportation and St Marks Square. Room was spacious but bathroom was rather small. Continental breakfast was excellent. Good value for the money.

Within 100 meters of San Marco Square the hotel offered a spacious, quite and perfectly air-conditioned family room (as was the rest of the hotel), which was the perfect center point for sightseeing trips in a hot (40 degrees Celsius) Venice. Be sure that revisiting Venice will be revisiting Casanova.

Fabulous location close to St Mark's but we enjoyed a large four-bedded room at a very reasonable price, with a good breakfast. This hotel exceeded our expectations and we would stay there again. Thank you. SB

Very close to san marco , probably one of best places for that reason. Only 50 metres from station boat 82. I definitely will try to get again this hotel when I´m going to venice again. Clean, everything is working, breakfast is typical for italy (means not very good)as good as everywhere

Very good staying in this hotel near san Marco place and every sightseeing. Employees were nice. No noise inside of hotel , but the windows of room specialy mine front of the street wasn't enough unsonorously. If I will go again I will return is this hotel but will ask room not front the street

Our family stayed at the Hotel Casanova for 6 days during the month of March 2003. The hotel staff were extremely courteous and friendly. The location was right by San Marco, the finest stores and very good restaurants. We reserved three rooms. The only disappointment was that the rooms we were assigned varied greatly in size, but overall were very clean and comfortable and welcoming after a long day of sightseeing. I would definitely recommend Hotel Casanova.

Great location! If you stay here, be sure to ask for one of the "attic" rooms. I had read that in "Italy for Dummies" and it was a great tip. We could see over the rooftops of venice, and even had a view of a slice of the Grand Canal!

The hotel itself was very good. It was a bit difficult to find...but what isn't in Venice? The 4-bedded room with a bathroom was great! A two-room suite with private balcony and spacious bathroom. The only complaint were the insect bites I recieved at night. The insects were a nuisance. Staff was eager to help and spoke good English.

We arrived very late in the evening in Venice after flying from the US and then by train from Milan. We were so grateful that the hotel staff found a restaurant that was still open so we could have dinner, that I wished I had scheduled more than one night in Venice. This was our third visit to Venice but our first time at Hotel Casanova. I will make every effort to book a room at this hotel when we visit again.

Literally only a minute from Piazza San Marco, the hotel was easy to find and one of the most convenient places to stay in Venice ... especially during Carnevale. The room was spacious, comfortable, and quiet. The staff was friendly and efficient. I plan to stay here again.
