Stayed in Casa Peron for 2 nights. The hotel was well located and near the main train station. However, the room that we were given was not very quiet. There were people walking past along the street until at 0100hrs in the wee hours of the morning talking loudly. Need ear plugs to sleep. Room was generally clean. Owner responded promptly to our request to change the bed sheets. We found some insects (they were either mosquitoes or bugs) on the bed. There was also mosquitoes flying around at night as I understand that this is a common phenomeon during summer. However, one can pay an addition of 5 Euros per night for the air-conditioning. This could possibly solve the insect problems

I read some reviews and was a bit worried - but I needn't have been. This was a truly lovely place to stay. The owners were friendly and welcoming (so was the parrot). The location is perfect - close to the station, and a beautiful walk to the Rialto, or St Mark's. There are also some great places to eat very close. My room was not expensive and was just right for me, with a shower and a little balcony. The whole place was quiet - I did have a room facing the back. I'd definitely come back when I come back to Venice!!

First, it is quite difficult finding this B&B, especially that it was our first time in Venice. We dragged our luggage up and down numerous streets in the heat and fustration as no one knew where it was and the owner could not explain the directions clearly. You also have to carry or pull your luggage up narrow, steep staircases into your room as there is no help from owners. The female owner of this place does not speak a word of English, is extremely rude and seems annoyed all the time. The male owner speaks English but is indifferent and cares more about his bird than his guest! Advice: Skip the free breakfast of old croissants and awful coffee-you're in Venice, start your morning with an awesome cup of coffee and a fresh breakfast! Our room was comfortable, clean and quiet; even the bathroom was clean with numerous toiletries. Now, the location is outstanding, you walk out the front door and step right onto the streets of Venice! OMG absolutely beautiful! You can go out in the morning, come back to rest and return to tour the streets in the evening (which is a must!). DRAWBACK: the front lobby door closes at 11:00PM (sometimes even earlier)which was a bummer and really wish we had known this because we could not go out at night and hang out at the local pubs! Overall, the stay at the facility was good, especially when one considers that staying at a local hotel is about double the price-putting up with less than stellar service and rudeness I guess is acceptable. Would we stay here again??? Mmmmm...the only reason we would probably not stay again is the 11:00 PM curfew!

Very welcoming and hospitable albergo - short stay prior and post cruise. Ideal location. Very typical and authentic decor. Extremely personable, knowledgeable and flexible management - nothing too much trouble and allowed us to leave baggage at the hotel for all day as we had a late flight (saving a lot on the alternative nearby left luggage). Definitely recommend if a/c, space and no lift is not an issue.

Our stay was blissful - we've had a very nice room with a very comfortable bed and a small terrace which was perfect for spending the warm summer late evenings outside. The place has a wonderful atmosphere of a family-run, cosy hotel in a nice, lively yet quiet neighbourhood. Highly recommended to those staying away from the blandness of the typical hotel experience.

We stayed 5 nights. the only complaint we have is the breakfast which was the same , every day for five days Two croissants, 4 bread, jam ,butter and cheese assortment ,coffee/ tea Other than this the stay was good When you go out , you have to leave the keys at the reception . You come back to a cleaned room with fresh change of linen and towels . The parrot added an extra flavor to all this

The hotel had everything we needed at a reasonable price. Our room was not large but clean, comfortable and quiet. The owner gives you space but if you ask him he is a font of information. His advice on what, where and how saved us a lot of time and money. The hotel is in a good location not far from the bus terminal but it pays to study the map as Venice streets and bridges can be confusing. This is a good value for money hotel and we would not hesitate to book it again.

My 12 year old granddaughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom and bedroom were immaculate. We especially loved the couple that runs the hotel, and were very grateful to have a nice breakfast. Gianni speaks excellent English and was able to provide weather reports (we were having some rain) and recommended a restaurant on our first evening that was close by. I liked the neighborhood and convenience of a bank ATM.

I hesitate to give a negative review of the building because it's Venice - everything is small and tight. The location is convenient, and the parrot in the lobby a cool touch. But we were disappointed in breakfast, which was scant by the standards of our trip. Also, we had read about the very cool ownership. ? They weren't nasty, but certainly not very friendly as we'd expected. ? But this didn't thrown us very much, as we were there to experience Venice. The hotel sufficed.

Hotel took us by surprise!! The room was pretty smal and no TV. The windows were facing old backyard that wasn't nice. But generally room was clean and shower was clean too. The biggest charm of the hotel is a parrot who can talk and the owner of the hotel was charming too. Breakfast was very simple. My boyfriend and I had a fab time here. To be honest we didn't spend much time in the hotel at all and yes it is basic, but you get what you pay for! Venice hotels are expensive! This one was a little gem with very easy, close access to the airport buses (5 mins walk in pretty much a straight line) as well as being a fab base for all that Venice has to offer. It was a little noisy in the mornings but we didn't mind at all as it added to the genuine atmosphere of the place. Would defo recommend this hotel to anyone looking to explore Venice. Stay away from St Mark’s square in the daytime and go at night, so much better. Try and take a day trip to Lido too which has a gorgeous beach. gondola trips are also better at night, although you do pay a bit extra, we thought it was worth it. Eerily beautiful.

I travelled to Venezia with two more friends and we were looking something economic to stay 1 nigth. This hotel was perfect for our stay. It is very well located, at a walking distance from the train station and also from many touristic points of interest, even to the Piaza di S. Marco. We booked a triple room with shower but shared toilet. The space for the shower is that of a wardrobe, but enough. The shared toilet i have to say it was very clean, and also the room and whole hotel. The breakfast was very complete. And the people there is very kind. I would recomend this hotel to everyone.

Overall I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I had some problems with shower as I didn't have hot water, but that was only once. I was staying in a single room it was very nice and cozy with a nice balcony with chair and table which would make such a nice place to sit down in the morning or stay a bit late in evening. I stayed there only for 2 nights, though in general I would love to have stayed longer. Finally, the staff. People working there were just amazing! Signor helped me with getting around Venezia which was very helpful. The hotel is around 30mins from Piazza S Marco by waterbus. I do thank the staff of hotel as my stay was really pleasant. I booked the single room with have shower inside but share toilet. The room is fine and clean. And they have free wifi access that what I like. A little drawback is the wall is not keep the voice. If you have a noisy tourist leave next door, you can hear them. The hotel location is near Pizzale roma so it's quite easy to reach anywhere. But it's not easy to find if you are first time there. FYI, if you are at pazzale roma and grand canal is at the back. On the left hand you will see the garden and a big hotel there. Across the bridge in front of hotel and turn right and follow the way. You will pass one or two bride (cannot remember exactly) and you will find the hotel on the left. The hotel sigh is quite small. Near the hotel, I think you may meet a gondala seilor sit nearby. Tourist alway tak a photo with him.

Found lower price (50 eur) for a private room compared with huges rates in Venice in that season. Toilet was shared, but in my case was in the same floor and didn´t have issues. Room was in thrird floor, no lift available. Breakfast too poor, and was not very tasty. Neighborhood quiet (Santa Croce), close to train and bus station (10 min. walking). The location is very good- near station- 5-7 min.We spent there one night. On the upper floor, no elevator, but it is normal for venezian small B&B,so it can be a problem for people who can't carry heavy baggage. For 1-3 night I think it is perfect. The room is small, but has all you need- a wardrobe, table, mirror, bedside table, sink and little shower cabin in the room-which is very comfortable to have. The WC was in the corridor but 2 steps from the room-very clean. Breakfast was very modest- cheese, croissant, jam, tea-coffee. I had better breakfast for lower price but in other cities. venezia is expensive itself, so I wasn't dissapointed much :). We spent all day walking, so we didn't need more from this hotel. The owner is a nice person, explained us everything on the map, kept our baggage after check- out time.

A simple room with sink and shower; the shared toilet was close by. We stayed only one day, arriving by train and leaving by ship. We picked Casa Peron because on the map it was only one bridge from the train station - important when hauling heavy luggage. But we missed a turn and had to go over 3 extra bridges. Once on track, Casa Peron was easy to find with a lighted sign over the 'street'. It was an even shorter walk to Piazzala Roma. There were 3 small bridges to cross, which would have been easy except for the near-freezing rain.

In general everything was okay as stated on the pages at venere.com. The only thing which we considered as not as well as it could have been was: breakfast. If a 17 year old boy asks for another bread roll we think this should be quite normal at this price level. This simple wish could not be accomplished.

One employee was friendly; other was unpleasant. Breakfast was minimal compared to all other places we stayed. Inability to pay with credit card was a surprising inconvenience in this day and age. Hotel facilities were fine; location is convenient to parking but not to center of city.

We had a room for 3 that was comfortable, clean, easy to find with the directions given, and breakfast was good. The hotel staff were very pleasant.

Casa Peron has paid attention to the details that make a hotel room usable & nice: there were plenty of hooks and towel bars, drawers, closet space and shelves. There were accessible electrical outlets, and the shower was a nice size. The windows were new and of excellent quality. The bed was comfortable as well, not old or sagging, and not too hard. So although the room was not overly attractive, the details were thought through and the room was very functional. The owner was also very nice and helpful.

Two big thumbs up for Casa Peron. Location is excellent (just behind Scuola San Rocco), rooms were spotless, good light, nice view looking down the side street. We booked a room with a shared bath, but to as an added bonus, the shower was in the room. And big props to Casa Peron for providing a dummy proof map of directions on how to get there. Would absolutely stay here again on return visit.

The rooms were very small as expected but the shower was nice and warm and the beds comfy. The brekky room was small so we had to wait for others to finish before we could come in. The service was very good.
