I stayed here during a busy carnival weekend and was bumped from the main building to the 'annex' across the road, upstairs in a converted palazzo. No complaints, but then, it wasn't raining or snowing! No lift, either! My single booking was accommodated in a three bed 'suite' which suffered some street noise from rowdy football group in the early hours one night. Apart from that, nice and quiet. Shower is 'cosy' and great if you're 5' (150cm) or less! Otherwise hand-held. But water is hot (eventually) and bathroom is clean and modern. Firm bed. Warm room with air-con. Breakfast is cereals, canned fruit, yoghurt, rolls/toast and marmalade croissants, with very unremarkable coffee. Short walk (5min) to San Marco or the main promenade. Helpful desk. Can recommend it, although I thought it pricey. That's the reality of carnival!

Very good hotel if your main goal is the proximity of San Marco place. The only drawback is the noisy surrounding of street and hotel.

Great location, very very close San Marco Place. Staff was very nice, the room was a bit small but clear. It's a bit expansive for the service given but the price is OK for its location. I suggest it.

Hotel Casa Fontana offers 15 nicely appointed guest rooms overlooking Campo San Zaccaria or Campo San Provolo. Each room has a different color scheme and decor, which have been chosen with attentive care, and modern amenities are provided to ensure guests a truly comfortable stay.All of the rooms come with a private bathroom with shower or bathtub, individually controlled air-conditioning, heating, satellite TV, direct dial telephone and writing desk. Hairdryers are available upon request.
Two rooms, on the garden side, feature a private terrace with views over the church of San Zaccaria. Most of the rooms are suitable for families with children, and cots are also available upon request.

How to reach Casa Fontana Hotel
By carGuests can leave their car in Piazzale Roma, then take the vaporetto (public water bus) line 1 and get off at the San Zaccaria stop (the ride takes approximately 45 minutes). The hotel is only 50 metres/164 feet away from the water bus stop.
