The breakfast room is not very comfortable; the offer for breakfast is little poor. But anyway: it is nice to stay there but hard to find.

Canaletto was a great hotel. Room was small, but seemed bigger due to very high ceiling. Nicely decorated, with gilt bed frame and nice glass chandelier, and very clean. Staff was always friendly and breakfast was more than enough. Location great--between Rialto and St. Marks, it served as a perfect home base and was easy to get to from airport ferry that landed at St. Marks. We even walked to train station from there (crossing 12 bridges in process). Would definitely stay again. Can't think of anything to complain about really. Other than breakfast, we didn't really eat at nearby restaurants, but they seemed nice enough (if a little expensive, like everything in Venice). We didn't do much at hotel other than sleep and rest and eat breakfast. I had trouble using common space computer for Internet as some things seemed to load strange, but that may be a difference based on country rather than hotel.

Hotel Canaletto was amazing and I would recommend anyone to stay there. We stayed in two different rooms. One room was a double, with an extra pull out bed. The other was a two-story, triple room that could sleep a total a six people. It consisted of a gorgeous double bed that was located on a floor of its own, a beautiful day bed, a single bed, and two pull out beds. With a group a seven, we had more than enough room. The rooms were stylish and perfectly embodied the traditional Italian ambiance that we expected. The pictures on the website were to scale. This was the third and last hotel that we stayed in for our 8-day Euro road trip, and it proved to be the best! The hotel's staff was incredible! The only drawback was finding the hotel. It is not off the main vaporetto line. However, once you find it, the walk to the main vaporetto line is short.

We found it quite easily. The location is excellent. We had 2 single rooms, both with huge beds and good bathrooms. We would definately stay there again.

HOtel Canaletto was very very tired. The 'breakfast' staff were lovely, but the staff on reception gave you the impression that they were fed up with dealing with people. They refused to put the air conditioning on to save money (they admitted, meaning the windows had to be opened, meaning mosquitos and lots of noise. Room was just big enough to walk round bed, curtains frayed and general decay. NOT WORTH THE MONEY THEY CHARGED

I have been to Venice many times. I loved the hotel except for the noisy business outside the window. Breaking glass sounds from 3am on.

Very friendly staff, very good location near San Marco, small but quiet rooms. Breakfast very plain but ok. Very nice restaurants in close vicinity.

The place was quite but hard to find in the labirint of Venice. The room was nice but it was easy to find out the lack of maintenance. The price we paid (140€) for one night justified better conditions even it is in the center of Venice.

I stayed only one night but I'll be back soon! The hotel was really great for its standards. My room was large enough, I was a single traveller but I had a spaciuos bed. The room was very clean anche decorated with very good taste. Also the bathroom was wonderful: really clean and new. In 5 minutes you're in S.Marco and that's great. The hotel is in an isoleted calle, but don't worry there's always people around so it's safe to come back at night.

Molto carino, rifinito in stile '700 e in ottime condizioni. Strategica la posizione tra S.Marco e Rialto.

ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo, prima colazione abbondante, vicinissimo a rialto. Le stanze sono tutte al primo piano, senza ascensore. Un pò rumorose quelle con affaccio sulla strada. Da consigliare

This hotel was incredibly hard to find in the streets of Venice. My TV only had a few channels and I wasn't able to watch the World Cup games and they weren't playing them in the area. The location is good, however, my room smelled so strongly of smoke that it was hard to even stay in the room or to sleep. They do have internet though and the fresh baked croissants in the morning were delicious.

Located in a touristcrowded area, but close to everywhere. Very clean and nice room. Good breakfast for italian standard. Internet possibilities in the hotel. Good price (90 euro) for a doubleroom and a night. Not nice view though.

Very quiet area (if there's no working progress nearby) although in the middle of city, good location! No carpet, all marble - best way to keep it clean and very nice to hot feet. OK restaurant inhouse.

Room 151, very spacious, clean and calm, however strong smell in the bathroom (but don't forget this is Venice). And depsite the beautiful marbe floor the room could do with carpet on each side of the bed, it is very cold to walk bare foot! Ohrerwise everything was very good, would stay in this hotel again.

We found the hotel at the second attempt - having walked straight past it the first time! This hotel was clean - the staff were very friendly and helpful. There wasn't much tourist information available in the hotel but I think that is our only negative point. Its location was perfect - equi-distant from St Marks and the Rialto Bridge. We would certainly recommend it.

Competent, friendly staff, easily accessible by water taxi, however, it is a 10 minute walk from St-Mark's Square, not a 2-minute walk as indicated....
