The hotel is in a perfect situation in the old sestiere of Castello,, very convenient for San Marco and San Zaccaria and the monument promenade . The vaporetto stations are two minutes walk so you can reach anywhere in the old city with ease. The hotel itself is very good, with very friendly staff. People on Reception are extremely helpful. Our room (212) was delightful, very attractively decorated and very clean. If ever we had the opportunity to return to Venice this is where we would stay.

This hotel has absolutely the most perfect location in Venice. It is close to San Marco, about a 3 minute walk from the Vaporetto stop, close to many cafes and restaurants--just an ideal location. Rooom was small,as was the bathroom, but that was not a problem for us. Defintely would recommend this place.

Excellent staff, very helpful & polite. They even printed tour vouchers out for us at the front desk. Gave great recommendations on local food, as you can go very wrong when dining at the easy to find tourist traps. Bathrooms were small, but clean. Linen was very basic & left us itchy. Beds relatively hard, but that seems standard in Italy. Breakfast was simple, but sufficient with the standard continental fare available. Fresh espresso & hot chocolate included at no charge. Free Internet worked extremely well, better than the terrible 3G roaming in Venice

We found the hotel very noisy. The floor creaking badly from the room above (our room 211) and doors closing very loudly throughout the hotel. There was also a noise problem with the stall vendors bringing their stalls/trolleys past the hotel in the morning and again in the afternoon. The hotel next door also had renovation work going on even on a Sunday. We were also very disappointed with the breakfast. There was no bread (just rolls) on offer or any toasting facility. The dining area was cramped and openly adjacent to the reception area. The weather was bad several days and we decided to return to the hotel to relax but due to it's size there was no lounge area. We would also suggest maybe some English speaking programs to be made available on the TV for such times.

The hotel is well located, near Piazza San Marco and you can go anywhere from there. The hotel was under a renovation, so there was dusty everywhere besides the noise. But it is a good hotel with an honest breakfast. The wifi connection was a poor one at the room.

Clean room, comfortable bed, not overly large but spacious enough. All hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a good, substantial comntinental breakfast consisting of cereal, yoghurt, rolls, meats, cheese, croissants, cakes, jam and fruit. Very well situated - one minute walk to vaporetti and two minutes walk to San Marco.

This hotel was functional and clean. It was in a perfect location. Our triple room was actually a double room with an extra cot, so space was cramped. The man who sits at the desk in the morning was unaccomodating and rude telling me I was wrong when I told him what his evening associate told me the night before( regarding making a taxi reservation) He soured the stay for us. The rest of the staff was very wlecoming and nice. It seemed like a big imposition for him to pick up the phone to call for a taxi, get us tour of Murano etc.

I found the first room quite spacious although an overflowing ashtray was left on the balcony. Staff were generally helpful especially the girls in the breakfast room. One woman on reception was very surly. The gentlemen on reception showed much more interest in the wellbeing of their guests. Price for the smaller room on the last two nights was high although the hotel is in such a fantastic location I would pay it again and most likely recommend the hotel as I understand hotel rooms in Venice are usually small. So many places to eat, just take your pick. I would definately suggest not eating from the "tourist menue" as it does not reflect quality Italian cooking. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Hotel Campiello is very easy to find:) from Airport get off Boat at S.ZACCARIA and its the narrow passage in front of you (the horse statue that you can't miss should be on your right hand side) bingo you're there!. Situated in the heart of Venice and only a 4 minute stroll from San Marco but extremely quiet during the day and night - We were very happy with this hotel, the reception staff were very helpful with directions and any needs. Breakfast was very nice with a good assortment of breads, meat, cheese, yoghurts and fruit etc.. The only complaint i have is towards the members of staff at breakfast who didn't provide a friendly service and appeared to resent being asked for a 2nd cup of tea or coffee - Service with a smile would have been nice!.

The location was excellent (only 5 minutes walk from St Mark's square) but just far enough out of the way to be quiet. The rooms were understandably small given the location but beautifully decorated and entirely functional with modern facilities where necessary. Given our only complaint was the lack of a decent mirror - an excellent hotel. Breakfast was good too and the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel was expensive - but what would you expect in Venice in the summer???

This was our 5th and longest stay in Venice, the hotel was in a brilliant location just set back from the lagoon, We arrived late in the evening on a particularly high tide and found our route to the hotel flooded. Fortunately we had a good map and so were able to find an alternative way in thus avoiding having to paddle! The continental breakfast was plentiful with a good variety of items to choose from. We found all staff very helpful and would certainly stay at Hotel Campiello again, and recommend it to friends.

We were "upgraded" to the junior suite when we arrived. This is actually the attic of the hotel which has been converted to accommodate 3 or more people. Far from an upgrade, this room was very musty, the temperature was difficult to control, and the beds were in poor shape. The bath was quite nice compared to the room itself. Overall, we were disappointed in our room and wish we had not been "upgraded"

The hotels is really well located close to the Piazza San Marco. The quad room we booked was OK but a little small for two adults with with two older children. There is nowhere to store bags securely (in a locked room) on checkout so we had to leave them in the reception are under the supervision of the reception staff, which isn't ideal. Overall, great value for money though.

We spent 4 nights at the Campiello. It is on a narrow street just north of the canal and east of St. Marks Square. Our room overlooked the street but very few people used that street and it was very quite at night. The Alilagune dock was right in line with the street so we had no bridges to haul our suitcases over when arriving from the airport and leaving to meet up with our cruise line (Blue line, both trips) Breakfast was fine and the staff very helpful in answering all of our questions.

rooms are really big and very comfortable - a plus if you go with family; I was expecting a bit more options for breakfast from a 4* hotel (had experienced in the past better breakfast in 3*) although on first sign it seems quite wealthy, but almost no choice on bread; eggs in glass looked and tasted as made in microwave, fruit not of the first freshness... but overall you would not leave breakfast hungry

The location was perfect which was close to St Marks' Square and close to the Grand Canal. When one steps out of the hotel, one can see the canal fro the walkway. Particularly great if arriving or leaving for FCO airport since the Alilaguna line leaves from the San Zaccaria stop which means no climbing the steps of bridges with luggage which is a huge plus. The bed was comfortable and the sheets of good quality. Good air conditioning. The bedroom was a decent size but the bathroom was ridiculously small in room 107. So small, that if you are a big person, you would not be able to get to the toilet. The shower was smaller than a cruise ship's shower. When I washed my hair, my elbows would hit both sides of the walls and one time I inadvertently turned the water off. Good hot water and pressure and bathroom clean though there were some little ants crawling on the sink but it was really no big deal. A very cool thing about this room is that there was a stairway from one of the windows that led to your own personal rooftop table with 2 chairs which is quite romantic. We paid 144 euro for the room per night which is super great for what we got. We would stay there again though one of the desk clerks was not very friendly. There was no sitting room downstairs. I loved the free WIFI in the rooms.

Our first time at the Campiello. Our first time in Venice. Campiello is a small, comfortable and welcoming hotel in a wonderful location. Small but adequate room with small but adequate bathroom. Turn left outside the hotel door, look up the short Calle de Vin and there's the promenade flanking the Grand Canal. San Marco is five minutes away. Great three-star value. We travelled to Venice by air from Madrid via Rome. Our bags got there 24 hours after we did. Campiello sympathetic and helpful.

This hotel is in a great location, just off the Grand Canal and very close to Saint Mark's Square. We found this hotel online, and after reading the reviews, decided to book. No problems with the procedure. Several comments about how small the rooms were. We booked a standard room, and were pleasantly surprised. We'd just come off a ship where the cabin was adequate. This room was bigger (108) and had character. No bath, but the shower had a full range of sprays, and was fun to play with. Recommended, to the point that we'd stay there again. Oh, and it's convenient to find, which can be handy when you're lugging a couple of suitcases around.

There's no question at all that given another opportunity, we would absolutely select the Hotel Campiello again. The location was absolutely perfect - close enough to Piazza San Marco as well as boat stops, yet off the main thoroufares so it was very quiet. When we checked in, we were advised that we would be upgraded (at no additional charge) to the junior suite on the top level. Since we were traveling with two teens, this was greatly appreciated. The room was wonderfully spacious and included a rooftop balcony. Really, the ONLY downfall to this stay was that since the second room was the one with two single beds, my husband and I had the pull-out couch in the main room. While normally we would not at all have a problem with this, the mattress was quite thin, therefore the bars from the couch frame could be felt and for us made the bed as it was un-sleepable. That being said, all we had to do was pull the mattress off the frame and onto the floor and we slept quite well. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, with not only breads and rolls, but cereals, juices, meats and cheeses. It was more than we expected. When we left, I took many of their brochures to pass along to friends that I know would be traveling to Venice. Without hesitation we would recommend this hotel, and upon our next trip, we'll look forward to staying there again.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Campiello. The room size was small (as expected in most European hotels) but was nice, quiet and clean. The public areas of the hotel were also nice, and although they were also small, they were plenty big for a small hotel. The hotel entrance does not join directly onto the busy tourist tracks of Venice but rather is down a little pathway, just 20 meters from the artists painting alongside the Grand Canal. We recommend this hotel and will definitely stay at Hotel Campiello again on our next visit to Venice.

This hotel was clean, had a fantastic breakfast, and you cannot beat the location. It is one bridge away from the S. Marco vaperetto stop. Finding it was simple, and commuting around Venice was so easy from this location. We had to walk through St Mark's square to get home at night, and listening to the bands as they filled the night air with music was the perfect end to each day. The linens were clean, the towels were huge and the room was very pretty. Great shower, fully stocked bathroom. Breakfast is served in the lobby, there are lots of choices: pastries, american ham, yogurt, cereal, juices, and a server will take your coffee or hot chocolate order. We booked a quad, and though it did not look like the photo online, it was fine. There was a king bed and two twins they had brought it. We still had room to walk. Nice closets and fun Murano glass fixtures. This is a great choice. The staff helped us extend our stay by finding us a room at their sister hotel The Pagenelli, which was also up to the same standards of comfort and cleanliness. We really enjoyed our stay.

Deux conseils; la place Saint Marc à 6h du matin.. As a solo traveller, this hotel was ideal as a base for visiting Venice. The location is ideal being close to St Mark's Square and the vaparetto stops. The staff were always at the desk and very friendly. The single room was small but perfectly adequate and clean (perhaps more storage space would have been good though) and the private safe was a bonus. The breakfasts were good, the wireless internet worked (you have to ask to be connected but it's free) and the overall stay was enjoyable. Negatives: The hotel temperature seemed very hot (i was there in a cool March). As far as noise goes, the outside was quiet enough but you are vulnerable to noisy neighbours. I suppose that's more down to luck though.

Rooms are tiny but nice. It's good for sleeping and that's about it. But it's a great location. The wifi didn't work, they said they had just installed it the day before I got there. But when I emailed them about it a month in advance they said they had wifi.

The location was excellent. I had a single room with a single bed and the room was very small (about as narrow as a queen size bed). The breakfast was very good - fresh cold cuts, good cheese, hard boiled eggs, fresh coffee, etc.

The closeness of the hotel to the Grand Lagoon was great. We wandered the city and slways found our way back. The resturants close by; one street to the west hidden on the small street were great. Listening to the fog horn one morning was a wonderful sound.

Excellent value for the price. 75 euros for a single room with a queen bed right behind the Doge's Palace and an easy 1 or 2 min walk from the vaporetto stop. The front desk speaks excellent English, and there is a public computer for internet access. They even have an elevator (although it broke my second day). Nice breakfast area. The only drawback was the size of the room - I was given a small double, and it would have really tight for 2 people. Minimal closet space, although there was a small private safe. The bathroom was also quite small. However, an excellent value for Venice. Overall, I was quite pleased.

Our 1st trip to Venice. We had read that most hotel rooms in Venice are quite small, so were expecting this any way. Staff were really helpful, e-mailing us with directions right up until the lasy minute, although it was quite easy to find anyway. The old bulidings are amazing.I would certainly reccommend staying at this hotel. Staying in Venice is quite simply magical!

Wonderful location! The room was a bit small but beautifully redecorated with marble bathroom. It was a charming room. It was so close to St. Marcos yet bit hidden from the crowd and away from the noise. The front desk was exceptionally helpful and friendly. We had no problem walking across Venice, while it had an easy access to water transportation a few yards away.

I totally recomend this hotel. It´s really easy to get to it (if you leave the vaporetto at San Zaccaria stop!!!). The facilities are clean, they have a good lift and the employees are very welcoming. The room was not so beautiful as it seems at the photos at Venere, but it still a very good room with bath room (big, clean and new). The location is outstanding and quit at same time. Love it so much. Our first time in Venice were perfect!

We were 2 young women visiting Venice for the first time, and this could not have been a more perfect hotel! We were warmly welcomed by an elegant, most helpful man, who spoke perfect English and offered great advice on restaurants. The details in the decor of the rooms were classic Venetian, and photos really don't do it justice. Our room was very small, but perfect for our stay. Literally 50 feet from the San Zaccaria vaporetto stop, you can't get a better place for the money. The only unfortunate thing was that we came home late one night, and the front desk attendant was ASLEEP in the adjacent diningroom, so we were outside, pounding on the doors and windows until he finally woke up, about an hour later. We were furious, but the management discounted our stay by 20 Euros without us even having to ask. I would highly recommend this hotel, and will surely stay here next time I visit Venice! Be sure to visit Caffe Lavena and ask for Michele--what a wonderful experience to watch the dueling orchestras on the piazza!

This was our first time staying at the hotel and we stayed 5 nights total. I stayed with my brother and both my parents in a quad-room. The room was smaller, but not uncomfortably small for 4 people. The bathroom facitilies were very clean and updated. Yes the shower and the area around the toilet is a little small, however, still very functional. The beds are softer than what I would like, but again only a minor concern. We all enjoyed our stay there from the simple breakfast to its great location right near San Marco Piazza and the San Zaccaria water taxi. Overall we were very satisfied with the hotel and would stay there again.

I recommend this hotel given its prime location. Its location close to the Plaza San Marcos is a major advantage for tourists not only because you will spend lots of time in that area, but also because it serves as an easy landmark to go back to when exploring this city. There are signs that point you to the Plaza all over the city, and from there, you will know how to go back to the hotel. The hotel was very clean and the bathroom was equiped with a shower system featuring water jets for the whole body and for the feet. This was very welcomed after a long day of walking in the city. The hotel employees were very kind and welcoming. I will certainly go back to this hotel.

We had one night on our own before our tour began. Even though the room was small, it was obviously a 3 star hotel compared to the 2 star rooms we stayed in during our tour. Hotel Campiello was beautifully decorated, everything was in good condition, in a quiet location near a vaporetto stop, with the best breakfast we had in Italy. My vegetarian son appreciated the eggs in the morning as a good protein source. The smell of baked goods in the morning was heavenly! The hotel offered to store our bags as we took in the Murano glass factory the next morning. I would definitely stay here again, and I definitely plan to return to Venice one day!

We stayed for 3 days in Venice - the hotel was fabulous - well located and (for Venice) reasonably priced. Everyone was helpful, the breakfast very good and lots of it. We were a couple of minutes walk from San Marco Plaza and within easy walking distance of everything we wanted to see. Great vacation, except for the food outside the hotel. Very expensive and not very good, with a couple of exceptions. Mostly we were served crappy pasta with boring sauces. Doing it again i think I would simply get pizza and house wine for lunch and dinner and spend my money on beautiful clothes and jewellery. The city was beautiful and hotel great. Check out the Doges Palace, all of San Marco Plaza, the Rialto Bridge, the Rezonnicko Palace, ride a gondola (bargain for the price) and wander to the end of the island where the "locals" live - fascinating and fun.

This was the smallest room we have ever stayed in, and we have visted Europe 7 times in the last 9 yrs. It was so small we could not open our suitcases, carryon size only, had to set stool in cupboard to store these, and stayed packed for 4 days. Beds fine, bathroom lovely tho' small, breakfast good and staff very helpful, knowledgable and friendly. Venice is expensive, been before, and location good, but the room was too small for 2. My husband or son could never have stayed. All in all, enjoyable and memorable, but the dimensions too,too tiny.

Stayed for two nights. Convenient location - one minute walk from the Alilaguna station. Staff were polite and welcoming. Rooms were small and buildings/furnishings rather old, but sheets and toilet/shower were clean. Continental breakfast offered cereal, milk, juice, yogurt, eggs, cheese, cold ham, croissants, tea, and coffee. Free internet access with a public computer available downstairs.

Was met by Marco when I arrived. He was extremely courteous and helpful. Helped me to cancel a hotel for a return visit the following week and managed to reserve a room for me at the Campiello. Hotel is well situated only 2 minutes from the vaporetto and San Marco. Great service and good accomodations. Would return anytime.
