This is a terrific B&B located in the heart of Venice. It was a little tough to find from the train station, but not bad. We really enjoyed our stay. Everyone was very friendly. The rooms are modern and well furnished. I will definitely stay there again.

A charming retreat from the tourist-clogged areas of Venice. The location and dining terrace are delightful. The map and directions -- always a challenge in Venice -- could be better.

If you don't mind (or like me, you prefer) being a little off the beaten path, Ca' San Rocco is an excellent value in Venice. We had a large, comfortable, nicely decorated room. The en suite bathroom even had a bathtub, which I enjoyed using to freshen up between our daily sight-seeing and our evening dinners. It is a bit of a walk from here to Rialto and San Marco, but once you get the hang of the Vaporetti, getting around Venice is a snap. I suggest walking to the Piazzale Roma stop, which is only 5 minutes or so from the B&B. The train station is a slightly longer walk, especially when you are pulling your suitcases, but quite doable.

We had a great stay at Ca' San Rocco for three nights in late May just before the start of the Biennale. Staff at the desk were friendly and helpful with any of our enquiries. The room had a pleasant outlook over gardens, a super comfortable bed, was quiet, clean and very well appointed. Location was good (slightly tricky to find) about 10 minutes walking distance from the railway station which had the benefit that you don't have to jump on a crowded vaporetta with your luggage to get there. Breakfast on the terrace was a nice touch in the mornings. We bought a three day water taxi pass at the railway station when we arrived in Venice and found Ca' San Rocco to be a great base for our stay and would definitely return.

Outstanding ! Great location, great hotel, great people! So quiet you'll think you're miles away from the city when in fact you're right there. Loved the breakfast on the terrasse, the view from the room, the family owned charm of the place! My only remark is that the owner of the hotel are so respectfull and quiet that they did not mentioned that they could arrange private tour of the city! I was looking for that and did found it only the morning we left! I'll recommend the hotel to everyone that want to spend a wonderful time in Venice.

Silent environment. We love it than others along with canal. Easy walk from vaporetti station, around 5-6min. Nice and affordable restrants are near from the hotel. Bread at breakfast is best in this my trip. Staff is very friendly and hearty attitude for our difficulities. shower room is not so tiny, enough width. Totally we'd stay there again.

We can warmly recommend this hotel. Only the soundproofing between the 1st and 2d floors was not 100% perfect, but it was not really a problem. Maybe an additional carpet might solve it.

What a beautiful stay for our honeymoon. Of course we had an interesting time getting around - after all, it is Venice! The directions the hotel sent to get us from the train station were terrific.

The Hotel is very small and personal. It is extremely clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated with lots of charm. Breakfast is served on a stunning, vine covered patio. It is close to the train station so that if you have to go to the docks it is an excellent location. It is a bit far from Saint Marks but then carrying your bags that far, if you have to meet a cruise, would be too much. It is a wee bit hard to find because it is on a small street behind a locked gate but their directions were clear.

Venice in general is very expensive, but we were happy with the room and the hotel. We were able to find it easily with the maps they provided. Our only complaint is that we weren't aware that the numerous 'bridges' we had to cross, carrying our suitcases in our hands, actually involved climbing up and down huge staircases! We had to cross 5 such bridges to get to the hotel. Once we got there, they were great- the lady at the counter even carried my suitcase for me, up 4 flights of stairs to get to the 2nd level. The room was really spacious- it was huge! And beautifully decorated. The bathroom was big, clean, new and also beautifully decorated. We had breakfast on the patio outside each morning, and that was so beautiful too. The patio overlooked a courtyard, and these cute little birds would fly around nibbling at the crumbs. It was really relaxing and picturesque. There was a girl at the breakfast each morning, making our hot drinks fresh from the kitchen, and replenishing the breakfast- cold meats, bread, croissants, cheeses, yoghurts, juice, buiscuits, fruit- it was a perfect breakfast! We could not see any water from our hotel room- it overlooked a very pretty courtyard though. But it was only a short walk from the smaller canals. Its a quiet spot, away from the major touristy areas. The staff recommended a few restaurants in the area- they were however very pricey (as is everything in Venice). My husband and I found a supermarket near the train station, and purchased a our lunches there, and a lovely bottle of Fragolino (Italian strawberry sparkling wine). We had keys to access the hotel so we could come and go at any time. I could not find fault with this hotel.

Ca' San Rocco was in a quiet location in San Polo area chosen because it was walking distance from the train station. It was a small hotel with good security and helpful staff. English was spoken. Breakfast was good by European standards. Location also OK for a Vaporetto Stop and the Dorsoduro area. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Venice.

Fourth stay at Ca'San Rocco and will definitely stay there again. Room and en suite bathroom well-lit and exceptionally clean. Rooms look out over garden across the quiet, narrow street. Breakfast on common terrace in summer a pleasure. Away from noisy crowds but just minutes by foot from train station or Piazzale Roma (bus terminal), short walk to Scuola di San Rocco and Frari. Highly recommended.

This bed & breakfast is almost perfect. The location is superb. Situated in a quiet area, but walking distance from every place of interest. We enjoy walking so we didn´t even need a vaporetto. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless. The only litte detail is the poor variety of bread for breakfast.

A very pleasant, quiet hotel with charming staff. The only limitation is that there is no public seating area within the hotel (but for visitors in warm weather this is not a problem, there is an outdoor porch with seating, and a garden).

Ca' San Rocco was an excellent base for our short stay in Venice. It is conveniently located (it is literally only 5 minutes walk from Piazzale Roma) and provided very comfortable and spacious accomodation. All hotels in Venice are relatively expensive but comparatively this seems to be good value.

I thought the accomodations were lovely. It was raining while we were there or we would have used both the outdoor breakfast area and the outdoor seating area. The inside, however, was delightful and the breakfast area charming. There were always many breakfast choices as well. The staff was very attentive and the surroundings beautiful. I thought the price was high but considering Venice prices in general it wasn't too bad. All in all we would definately stay here again. It is not in the center of town which was a plus as the center is much noisier and touristy. It is about a 5 minute walk from Piaza Roma. This place really is close to perfect!

My son and I spent a wonderful three days in Venice during his half-term holiday. The staff at the hotel could not have been more welcoming or helpful. When I booked I asked if it was possible to have two single beds rather than a double, so I was pleased (as was my son!) to find two large single beds in the room. We asked for recommendations for restaurants and were delighted with both restaurants that we visited which were excellent value and had wonderful food. I would love to visit this hotel in the summer, if only to sit outside on the terrace to have breakfast. I would definately recommend this hotel as the perfect place to stay in Venice - as a hotel it was great, and its location was superb. The free map given to us on arrival helped enormously with planning our sight-seeing. Thank you hotel Ca'San Rocco.

This is a lovely and efficiently run little hotel. They refer to themselves as a B&B and that is really more accurate. It has about 8 rooms. There is no staffing of the reception area after 9 p.m. The two ladies I met who run things are professional and helpful but didn't smile much. The breakfast was OK and, weather permitting, you can eat on the lovely terrace outside the breakfast room. The hotel is very quiet except for my room in the morning which was next to the breakfast room and the talk was quite loud at 7:30 a.m. The room was large and the bathroom clean and large. But if you're in room #2 don't expect to sleep in! It is located about a ten minute walk from the railway station. A good map of Venice is helpful for finding it, even though the map on their website is basically accurate.

We have recently stayed in this hotel and found it to be excellent. We have stayed in Venice before in a very expensive hotel on the Grand canal, but actually this was just as enjoyable. We had room 2 which was very spacious, and possibly the cleanest hotel room we have ever stayed in. Breakfast is served on a beautiful terrace which over looks surrounding leafy gardens, and was a real plesure each morning. The location is more central than it looks on the Venere map, and is only 5 minutes walk from the Sa Toma vaporetto stop. It is also only a 2 minute walk from the church of Santa Maria del Frari which is an absoloute must, its rather plain exterior belies its unbelievable interior, and is apparently the best thing most likely to be missed by visitors to venice each year. The location is very quiet, and did not smell of anything unpleasent while we were there ( I refer to some earlier comments) perhaps if its your first visit to Venice you may want a view on to a canal, which the Ca San Rocco dosen't have, but if thats not of great importance you, you could do a lot worse than to stay in this little gem of a hotel.

The Ca' San Rocco is a beautifully renoavted and serene B&B (great care has been taken by the sisters who own the B&B with every little detail). The room is tight, but o.k. for a couple of nights, the bathroom is small but as expected for European standards. The B&B is located 10 minute walk from the train station, relatively easy to find if you follow the map provided and do not rely on the street names (they are often times half way down the "street" in Venice). When you find the correct "street" proceed all the way to the end - the numbering is wonky in Venice. Travel light, there is a big bridge to carry your luggage over.It is important to remember that this is a B&B and few services are available, but it is possible to book a limited selection of tours/outings. The terrace on which breakfast was served was a beautiful and peaceful place to begin each day. Breakfast does not include eggs/hot foods, it did include the best granola we've tasted! The B&B is about a 30 minute walk to Piazza San Marco.

This is an excellent hotel in Venice. The rooms were outstanding, the breakfast very good, the staff personable and informative. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Venice at the Ca' San Rocco, our room was beautiful and spotlessly clean as was the rest of this lovely little hotel and the reception girls were very helpful. The hotel is in an excellent area for getting around and just a short walk from the Piazza Roma which is the stop for the bus from Treviso Airport so no need to travel further on the vaparetto with luggage in tow to get to the hotel. Only one tiny complaint was the breakfast which was typically continental and lacked variety. Would definitely stay here again if we were to visit Venice again sometime.

I would absolutely not stay at this hotel again. The air conditioning in our room had broken. This was during a weekend when the temperature in Venice was almost 40 degrees celsuis. The hotel were not able to get anyone to fix the air conditioning during our 2 night stay. As a consequence, we spent 2 very uncomfortable and sweaty nights in the hotel. I expected to be offered a discount for this inconvenience, but was not. When I requested a discount, the reply was a shrug and "It's not our fault the air conditioning broke". After 10 minutes of negotiation, during which I explained I would not have made the booking if I thought there would be no air conditioning, I managed to get a discount of 20 Euros. That's a discount of just over 6%, off a 290 Euro charge for 2 nights. Appalling! The hotel manager was rude, unsympathetic and unhelpful. The hotel was clean, but the service was very poor indeed, disgusting in fact. Also, the hotel is situated down an alleyway upon which the locals seemed to take their dogs to urinate. Hence, the smell was terrible when you left and arrived at the hotel.

This is a great hotel, all attractions are within walking distance, that is if you dont get lost in the maze of streets and alleyways. Good tip: Take a map and more important a compass. For quicker transport, use the water buses.a 3 day pass is well wort it.Room was a good size and clean and quiet, room 4 overlooked a small park area.Nice in a city. The only downside I found was the Breakfast,I like my full english on hoilday, but the continentalbreakfast offered, although sufficient, was limited and the same every day. The location was good with only three bridges to cross to reach, other tourists in more central hotels are in for a long walk with many bridges to cross.

Although the hotel is not located on a canal it is in a park like setting. The rooms are spacious and spotless and the bathroom in room 1 is huge, which is unusual in europe. The hotel was easy to find from the train station even with hauling our luggage. Just when we got confused, there was a hotel sign pointing us to the hotel. The hotel is owned by two young sisters who are helpful but shy at first. The breakfast is sparse in european terms but, as americanos, we appreciate any breakfast being inclusive. I would stay there again and recommend.

A splendid small hotel (only six rooms), ideal for singles, couples, small families on their first or tenth visit to Venice who are looking for a serene spot yet one within comfortable walking distance of Rialto, the Accademia, or San Marco. Easy five-minute walk from Piazzale Roma, seven minutes from train station, 30 seconds from Scuola di San Rocco, a minute and a half from the Frari, yet a haven, with gardens on two sides (roses still blooming in garden across the street in mid-December). Bedroom was pristine; bathroom modern (shower stall a squeeze, but all conveniences sparkling clean), bare wooden floors in bedroom another great plus. Common areas also exceptionally clean. Staff is welcoming and courteous. Breakfast is modest but sets one up for follow-on early morning cappuccino at, e.g., Caffe dei Frari, opposite main entrance to the church. I will be returning to the Ca' San Rocco with my wife at the end of January.

Next to location on a canal, you cannot beat this hotel. I would return here time an again. We were within easy walking distance to everything, and we were able to access the water bus and other forms of transportation easily. The biggest drawback was having to lug our luggage over two bridges to get there. However, we were also packed for a cruise. Ordinarily, our burdens would have been lighter and the walk to the hotel easier. The staff was friendly and helpful.

My wife and I loved our stay at Ca' San Rocco. The rooms, the grounds, the breakfast food, the service - they were all excellent ! It looks like an ambassador's residence - upscale, secure, manicured, very very quiet. We would definitely recommend this as THE place to stay for anyone thinking about a trip to Venice. It's location was also perfect - close to the train and bus stations (but not too close) and within a short 20 minute walk to the main sights of Venice. The people at the hotel were also very helpful. The only inconvenience we experienced was not having hot water in the shower until 6AM. We had to leave early one morning and had to wait until 6AM to shower. This should be easy for the hotel to fix.

This is a delightful small hotel, with a quiet garden for sitting, and a wonderful deck to enjoy the breakfast, which was included. The room and bath were spacious. The hotel is a little hard to find because the numbers on the buildings are not always consecutive. We finally had to call the hotel for someone to come and find us after walking around through various alleyways for quite a while. The girl on the desk came right away and led us back to the hotel. We were within a half block and still couldn't find it. The hotel is very secure and close to the boat stops making getting around easy. Take your walking shoes! Dragging your luggage can be a bit of a drag, but a necessity in Venice since there is no land transportation. This is a wonderful little hotel, very clean and secure, important for two women traveling alone. There is no elevator, so you have to carry your own bags up some narrow stairs. Overall, a very nice experience, and we would stay there again.

We had a very plesant stay in this hotel during 4 days. We appreciated the quietness of the hotel, the services offered (rasor in the bathroom, sweets in the room, books of venice in different language at the reception desk). The room was very nice and spacious, the location was great near the most beautiful places and the vaporetto station. The girls at recpetion desk were helpful ( book a restaurant for us) and speak french. The breakfast was good and fresh (ham, fresh bread, pastery...)and the terrasse is a nice place to have a breakfast. We hope to come back soon. Venice was a wonderful city and the experience was enhanced so much more by this superb hotel and its friendly, efficient and helpful staff. The hotel and its location was fantastic and the breakfast terrace was a treat. It was an added bonus to find a hotel with such pleasant views and such light, airy rooms. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to anyone and I shall definitely stay here again when I return to Venice.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at this small family hotel which is just a few minutes walk from the bus terminal. The staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful, the room was very clean and tastefully decorated and we particularly enjoyed having our breakfasts on the lovely balcony each morning.

+ we had an absolutely pleasant stay at this hotel. It was cosy, quiet, clean and relaxing after spending many hours walking about everyday. - decent shower, but you had to be very careful not to overflood the bathroom.

We loved our B & B, especially the French doors opening to balconies in the rooms. Location was great, staff was most helpful. Breakfast was average. Otherwise, it was well above average and we'd definitely return!

Compared with other hotels considered we thought this was good value for money with pleasant & helpful staff. It's situation, although in a mainly quiet area ia very convenient for getting in & out of the city & for the vaporettos during one's stay.

Ca' San Rocco is tucked away in a quiet street just off the main walking route from the station to Rialto. The hotel rooms and bath rooms are modern and spacious. The staff is most helpful and stayed up late to meet us after a late arrival. The breakfast is served on the 1st floor patio overlooking the neighbors' parklike backyard. The only point of criticism I can think of is that the breakfast is typically Italian w/o any protein but the coffee and rolls are fresh. We would go back in a heartbeat and can recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a quiet place near all the attractions of Venice.
