I have been in Venice 7 times always stayed with my now 8 years old in triple room, the room showed in Internet as triple was not triple room was a double with and extra bed at its foot was impossible to walk and watch Tv because the room was very small for three people. The room and bath needs an up date for 4 star hotel. The staff was very efficient and one of the members Marco was very kind and we changed to a real triple room

A real big pleasure on everything staff is perfect, services too, breakfast platinium, located in a perfect mix between Piazza San Marco and all parts of the islands, only one remark, if you let windows open, the noise of deliveries starting at 5:00 am. Even my room was not so spacious, the quality of all services was so high. Congratulations to all Buonvecchiati's staff.

Cleanliness of rooms was bad. Floor full of dust and hairs. Carpet was still dirty. Inside the drawer were plenty of condoms (good luck- not justed). Room was 350m away of the main hotel building in the Residence. Entrance and stairs not in really good conditions.Noisy because of the elevator and stairs. In the breakfast- room birds are flying around...Is this the italian way of life?

Everything in Venice is expensive, but this hotel was fantastic. It had a large breakfast (by Italian standards) and was extremely close to San Marco square and yet quiet. We stayed in a triple room which was a large room with a nice bathroom. If I am in Venice, I will stay here again.

The hotel is located 2 minutes away from Piazza San Marco and offers beautiful vistas of gondoliers transporting elated tourists. I would highly recommend this hotel. The breakfast is included and provides everything that is needed to start your day of visiting in an energetic fashion. We also had dinner on the terrace at a table next to the canal; it was a very delightful, scenic and culinary experience.

The hotel location is excellent, in San Marco area, short walking distance of Piazza San Marco, Basilica of San Marco and Palazzo Dodge. A lot of restaurants and shops surrounding the hotel. The Gondolas are just there in the canal beside the hotel. The room was clean as well as the bathroom. Breakfast was good. Receptionists were good with information and help provided. We recommend this hotel and we look foward to comeback to Venice and to Bonvecchiati.

Hotel in easy reach to St. Mark`s, convenient to Rialto Bridge and boat stop. We booked one de luxe room on the 6th floor very spacious well furnished with view onto the roof of Basilica St. Marco and Campanile. Service and staff very friendly and helpful. We disliked the problems with the coffee machine at breakfast.

Nice hotel if a little chintzy. Big room, great breakfast and the waiters were polite and friendly. But what is it about Italian reception desks and in particular the staff on them - they need a fast-track Customer Service course!

A wonderful stay with quite excellent and helpful service. Our room was not particularly spacious, but elegant, even luxurious in an understated way. Fittings and decor were top quality, obviously recently renovated. The breakfasts were wonderful, the setting, the food, the service. Front desk staff were courteous and very accommodating. Housekeeping was also top-flight.

The hotel is very much over-priced, 230 Euros for a double room. The service is just ordinary as other 3 to 4 star hotel. The reception is not too welcoming, in fact, a bit too cool. The resturant is good. The good thing of the hotel is that it has a private landing, so that you can take a water taxi directly to the hotel. The transfer to and from hotel is expensive; airport to hotel 160 Euros, and hotel to cruise terminal 90 Euros (for 5 persons). The location of the hotel is excellent, just 5 minute walk to San Marco.

This hotel had the perfect location, and I would love to return when I had more time. It was quiet, but very close to St. Marks. What a romantic spot!! The gondolas travel right by the restaurant. I highly recommend the restaurant, for both dinner and breakfast. It's worth the money.

The Hotel Bonvecchiati is an overpriced hotel, even for the Venice area. The staff with whom we dealt, with the exception of the porter, were rude, patronizing, impatient and totally lacking in customer service skills. The rooms, especially ours, were tiny . . . not small . . . TINY! And old!!! We booked four rooms based on the photos on the website and not one of them matched the photos. We had no elevator service to our floor. Instead, we had to take the elevator to an upper floor and then walk down to our floor. The hotel staff, upon our arrival, were in no way accomodating and their demeanor bordered on sheer arrogance. The only positive during our stay was the breakfast and the breakfast area. The breakfast buffet was very good and we had no complaints with it or with the dining area and staff. We would not recommend the Hotel Bonvecchiati to any other travelers and we plan to post our dissatisfaction at other internet sites.

This is an excellently located hotel and the staff were very amenable and efficient. As it is so close to san marco do be warned that the bells ring quite often and very loudly - as with many central hotels noise is inevitable, but the beds are very comfortable! I would not hesitate to recommend it. My only real criticism is that breakfast could have been better.

There was no seating at breakfast and the manager admitted they couldn't cope with the number of people at that time! The public rooms were like a refugee transit camp - luggage + people everywhere. It is the ONLY place in Italy where the staff don't respond to buon giorno or respond with 'prego' to my grazie! The recption staff were surly and unhelpful - generally the place felt under seige because of the number of visitors and inadequate staff and facilities - food at the breakfast buffet was not replaced - it was almost impossible to get coffee!

For the price we were charged I was expecting at least a shower working properly! When I complained about it the following morning at the reception desk I had the impression that they weren't even listening to me. The location of the hotel is very good and the breakfast served as well, but the bad surprise of the shower in the morning spoiled a lot of it!

This hotel is set in what I think is the best location in Venice. It is literally a stone throw from the Rialto Bridge, St Mark's square and many of the main Venetian attractions. The hotel can be difficult to find if you don't have a decent map. The staff were very friendly. I have read reviews which disagree with me but I believe they did everything to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. I have only one issue with the Hotel. I requested a double bed when I booked it and was given a room with two single beds. The rooms are every clean and comfortable.

The Hotel in general is good, but the correspondence between the category of the rooms and its price is bad. I'm not sure that my reservation titled 'Double Luxury room' corresponds whith te room that I stay. For me, the room occupied is an 'Standard Room' but charged at 'Luxury' price.

All was satisfactory, good and partly very good exept "the welcome". One has to go over steps (from the canal-side by watertaxi) with all the luggage. nobody helped us although some employee have seen us arrive. that means the first impression wasn't really good. by the way: the air condition didn't work correctly.

The hotel is quite pleasant and we enjoyed our stay especially because of the hotel’s excellent location, the only problem he had was the window of our room that couldn’t be actually opened because of the emergency stairs next to it. The breakfast was excellent as the spectacular space next to the canal in which is served. It is only a pity that some people of the staff weren’t as nice as the hotel.

The hotel was difficult to find (head for Campo St Luca and go up to the left of the fast food bar and its about hundred yards on your left!), but is a fantastic hotel only 1 minute from Rialto Bridge and St Marks. We had a huge modern stylish room and bathroom with three windows overlooking the canal. The room was amazing value for money (120€) and very high spec, breakfast was good and the location was perfect. The only negative thing was that opposite the room was a pier where the garbage barge loaded early in the morning which was quite noisy, but with the windows closed wasn't too bad. I would definately stay here again it is a very good hotel.

We stayed in an impeccably clean room, with nice decor (modern furnishings). Our room (458) had a nice view of the canal below and of the tower from San Marco Square. The bathroom is a treat, very large, and the shower is equipped with a very large shower head (about the size of a volleyball), so you get soaked in no time. I believe the room is located in a part of the hotel that has been recently refurbished, as all around the smell of new construction pervades and the decor looks much more modern than what is on the website.Breakfast was pretty average, though, we are not known for waking up early and caught the end of it at about 9:55, so it is possible the early risers were treated with better fare. One minor annoyance. We booked a deluxe double, so we were very surprised to see the bed set-up with two twin beds with separate sheets (albeit, pushed together). I spoke to the hotel front desk soon after arrival to see if we could be moved to a room that has a double bed that was not made up of two twins and we were told that they had nothing available that night but would offer us a different room for the next. The next day, the story had changed, as a different person on the front desk said that all of the double beds in the hotel were made up of two twins and that they would be happy to change the sheets in our room with one set of sheets. Now, if this is true, that all the double beds in the hotel and made up of two twins, I find this very strange. Or, the second person was lying...which reflects badly on the hotel if this was the case.Overall my stay at the Hotel Bonvecchiati was a pleasant one, and I would recommend it to others. It is pricey, so I wouldn't consider it a great value (even for Venice), but if cleanliness and a good shower are important to you and it is in your price range, then you will most likely be happy here. (Particularly for the location!)

Location, cleanliness, breakfast was excellent. My traveling companions had a double room and that room was very nice. However, my single room was terrible. The bed was so narrow you couldn't even turn over. The room had no ambiance. When I complained to the front desk, they informed me that I was, afterall, a "single" and that was the best they could do. They did show me another room, which was on a floor inbetween floors that wasn't serviced by an elevator, and looked worse than the first. The room was very hot. It had one window in the bedroom area and one in the bathroom. The view overlooked a roof with metal infront of the window. There was no air and no view. Even though it was November, it was quite warm, and therefore, the small stuffy room was very uncomfortable. If the "single" room situation could have been resolved, I would definitely stay at the hotel again, but under the circumstances mentioned, I would have to give it alot of thought.

The Hotel is OK, but it was difficult to find it, using the Rialto stop. May be you and other hotels could make like a service to take you to your hotel from the vaporetto station in San Marcos. Like panels with the names of the hotels, and then when we arrive we see the announcment so going direct to the panel and then a person conduct us to the hotel.
