Sehr nettes kleines Hotel.

This hotel has everything, except for the quality you would expect of a 4-star-hotel! We booked a "double deluxe room", which was in reality a regular Triple-Room, so it was just larger than a regular room. Located in the back building with an ugly view on the neighboring house. Although we asked for a "quiet room" it was not only right next to the elevator, but the building-fabric was so weak and cheaply made that it was extremely clairaudient: conversations from other rooms at regular loudness were clearly audible and you could hear every single step from the floor above... All the hotel-flyers and website-descriptions saying "all rooms have been recently renovated" are totally outdated (or our room simply didn't belong to "all rooms"), because for the bathroom, a renovation was more than overdue: old tiles (in the color of dark-brown), cracks and holes between the tiles, and everything covered with thick and heavy lime-stains. But the worst thing about the room was its lack of cleanliness (dusty surfaces, sticky fingerprints and stains on the doors, hair lying around, in the bathroom hair stuck on the walls and in the sink and bathtub...). So the price for this kind of "quality" is more than ridiculous. A hotel to NEVER EVER go there again, because there are many, many other hotels in Venice (and excellent ones which deserve their 4 stars...)

Villa Mabapa was such a lovely spot to stay. It was perfect for us as each time that we left from our day's adventures the water bus ride back to our villa was so relaxing. The staff and employees went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We would recommend this place to anyone.

Stayed two nights at the Villa Mabapa. Great hotel. Ten minute boat ride to Venice. The ticket for the boat ride also is good for the local bus ride from the boat dock to the hotel...which takes about 3 minutes and the stop is adjacent to the hotel. Excellent breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Venice.

Single room was very small. First room I got smelled terribly of smoke. I asked for a change, but could not get one until the second night. But...the staff is very nice, the breakfast is good and ample. The location is fifteen minutes by bus or walking to the vaporetto, then twenty minutes by vaporetto to Venice, as hotel is located on the barrier beach (Lido). It is OK if you plan to spend the day in Venice and come home when you are done touring. Overall my rating is positive.

Had a lovely time at the Hotel Villa Mabapa and would certainly go back. Was a bit worried, other reviews had said rooms were a let down, that the staff weren't helpful and that breakfast wasn't included. None of this was the case during our stay! Our room was lovely with half a view over the lagoon, the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast (which was included) was great. The best thing about the hotel was the free hire of bicycles which made it really fun and easy to explore the whole of the lido island. Travel into Venice on the vaporette was easy and took only 10 mins or so from the Vaporette stop which was about a 10 min walk away itself. Staying on the Lido is perfect because (in summer certainly) Venice is madness and it is nice to come back to the calm of the Lido and relax. Recomended!!

Overall we were very pleased with our stay. I didn't feel like the desk staff was very friendly. We had a Jr. suite that was nice size an comfortable. It was noisy though. You could hear the people above walking on the floor and the restaurant noise late into the night was annoying - especially the head waiter who was talking on his cell phone outside our window at midnite. The Resturaunt serves excellent food but the service was poor. Our kids received their meal 15-20 minutes before us. The location is great. We enjoyed being away from the crowds of Venice and being a 5 minute walk to the beach. One negative on the location is if you have an early flight. You must take a private water taxi and that ran 125euro.

All staff members ranging from cleaner/handymen to reception were very friendly and helpful. The inclusive breakfast was very good as it had a variety of dishes on offer to cater for visitors from all countries.Very handy for local transportation. The rooms included a private bathroom, which for the price paid was very good as alot of the other hotels in the same price range in Venice itself had shared bathrooms. I would highly recommend this Hotel to anyone.

There was a slight issue when we checked in. I thought we were in a standard double, but we got a standard twin. They upgraded us with no extra charge to a wonderful room when it became available at no extra charge.

Never having been to Venice before I was not sure where Lido was and the description of the location was a little misleading as to the time/distance to the city. Having said that we were pleased that we stayed where we did as it was away from the busy area and was a beautiful hotel. The staff were courteous and very accomodating and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would return to that hotel in the future.

The breakfast for a four star hotel could have been better as the variety was a bit limited and not quite to the English taste.

Very nice hotel for the money. Unexpected bonus: a great breakfast buffet. Down side: a bit of a walk from the vaporetto stop (half mile -- though one can take a bus). Very competent employees, good service.

I asked specially for a room with a view, my wife and myself we had a special celebration. The room we received had a view towards a an inside wall. The price level for this kind of room was absolutely to high with the result = disappointment

This place is horrible. They tried to overcharge me by 40 Euro a night and they where very inhospitable when I asked for another place to eat outside the hotel. The hotel's restaurant has a very limited menu and when I did eat there (out of desperation), I got sick from their food. This hotel is a 15-20 minute walk from where the boats arrive, so if you've got luggage, you have to take a taxi or deal with the walk. Apparently, the water taxi that comes to the launch close by only runs a limited amount -- none during my stay. Finally, my room smelt so badly. Apparently when the tide is low, the toilets give off a very bad smell. I would never, NEVER, stay at this hotel again and will tell everyone I know to do the same.

The hotel was very comfortable and clean in beautiful buildings. The only problem was that it was not close to the shopping areas and restaurants as well as to the vaporetto stops. As a result, the 15 or 20 minute trek to and from anywhere became a bit of a drag specially at night when one was tired and just wanted a decent dinner. The dinner at the hotel was good, but expensive. Also it wouldn't hurt the reception staff to be a little friendlier (ie less formal). Overall a good stay, though a bit inconvenient if you're not into walking back and forth. The taxi driver was a crook who charged 8 Euro for a 2 minute ride from the vaporetto stop to the hotel and 9 on the way back. Liked the stay at the Lido island because it is quieter and more upscale, although I would probably try the main island next time just to avoid the hassle to getting to and fro. It would help if the hotel organized it's own shuttle service.

I enjoyed my stay at Villa Mabapa. However, when we checked out, I noticed that they tried to charge me more. I had to ask and they did correct it though. I booked through the internet and it asked if I have any special request. It was my boyfriend's birthday so I asked if it would be alright to deliver a birthday cake to the room. There was no delivery. I don't mind that but I think it would be better if they could tell me that they couldn't arrange it.

No Iron available so our clothes had creased in our case. The laundry service did not operate on the weekend and therefore became a problem as during our holiday/ travel did not arrive Venice until Fiday. Any future visits to venice I will definatley stay on the Lido and not in the City Centre.

Sitting in the garden with a view of the laguna, Piazza San Marco in the distance, sipping a campari-soda: heaven. I have known this hotel for many, many years, back to when it was owned by two sisters. I have experienced the changes, and the growth - all postive. Rooms modern and tasteful, quiet and clean. And the water-Taxi across to the main town is part of the pleasure of the stay.

Our room was located in an adjoining building in the garden behind the Villa Mabapa. The small room had neither a balcony nor a terrace and offered no view of the lagoon. The room was air-conditioned, quiet and clean. Although we asked for a non-smoking room, obviously our predecessors were smoker. The staff was friendly and competent.

We booked a Delux double room.( asking for sea view...) When we checked in the employee told us that for sea view we should pay 50 Euro more per day!( while the room - delux?? ) showed us was very small. Of course we paid - but the exact price should be known in advance when booking...
