Hotel Belle Epoque - Venice

The main problem with this hotel was the heating system which was not adequate in the public areas. When I arrived the single radiator in my room was cold. After I turned it on, it was a very long time before my room became comfortable. Also the Internet access system was expensive and inadequate. Even if the hotel decor was delightful, I don't think I would go back in winter!

Unlike many other travellers we did not experience any issue with the front desk staff; they were friendly, welcoming and courteous. The hotel was in great proximity to the railway station and bus terminal which was important as we had an early flight the next morning. There was also one English television news station. Our stay was not without problems though: When we entered the room, there was an overwhelming floral/musty smell; the heating didn't seem to work properly; breakfast was dismal (some of the food tasted as though it had gone bad!)

Venice is beautiful; the weather was good; freezy but sunny. We did not travelled in gondilia ; the temperatur was too low; but perhaps we will gone an other time; but the rate of hotel is too high(4timesthat the previous rate)

I was traveling with my couple, we booked for a double bed and we got a double bed with two little matresses put together instead of one, wich made my back hurted a lot. Since it was one of the the cheapest room it was located (literaly) in the attic and we could hear noises from a pipe. Don't buy the map they sell, is expensive and awful. Despite of that, the hotel was very nice and clean, really close to Venecia Santa Lucía station (less than 100meters) and Ferrovia vaporetto station, very nice breakfast, efficient staff, and we could save our luggage until the check-in at 14:00.

Hotel was easy to get to by car but requires 24 euro per day for parking in the nearby piazza. There was a 10-15 minute walk with luggage from the carpark, but was not difficult. Nearby food was cheap and delicious. Only negative was the room was quite small, but other rooms in the hotel appeared bigger. The included breakfast was good.

Everything was really good excapt internet connection. That was really expensive 3€/hour.. But location and hotel were so perfect..

Location was fantastic, room ok, breakfast fine, value perfect, only gripes pillows very flat and hot water took forever and not hot enough to shave in.

Triple acomodation was a little cramped for 3 adults but the room was true to pictures.... Venetian kitsch. Hotel is super convenient for the railway station at around 100m only. On a busy shopping street but rooms above ground seem very quiet. Staff accidentaly double charged as my group checked out separately. Contacted the hotel after leaving Italy and refund was quickly checked, no trouble and as prompt as promised with a followup email of apology. Hotel price matches market level for Venice and is highly recommended by us.

This is a beautifully decorated hotel in a good location. The only negative is the size of the room (tiny).

Beautiful hotel right near station so great location but showers don't work properly, air conditioning made very loud noise and could not be ajusted and breakfast awful. Staff friendly and helpful and spoke multiple languages.

The 'belle epoche' is fantastic! the price-quality-relationship is brilliant...the rooms are lovely and individuell.. very much 'venice' and although it's in the hotspot...it's really quiet...prima collazione inclusive, perfetto veramente!

The lady at the front desk was very impolite and unfriendly. She was complaining about too much work. It was very a awkward situation. The rooms are too small for such an expensive rate. Breakfast was very good.

Two rooms. At the arrival no air conditioning. Fixed by the night. Unfortunately one of the two rooms' doors could not be closed. It was not fixed and we were not offered to move to another room, so we slept with a chair keeping it closed. Moreover, after turning the air conditioned off (the temperature in the rooms had gone too low) it was impossible to turn it back on in one of the room (the one with the functioning door). I guess it was not fixed so well. Breakfast was not so good and the man in charge of the check-out treated us in an impolite way after we had been very understanding despite all the problems with the rooms.

Wifi did not work, night staff rude, buffet breakfast poor, no tea or coffee facilities, not iron in hotel. Lots of stairs and no help with luggage. Day staff much nicer.

The rooms are so elegant and the location is perfect, will definately come here again!

A little on the expensive side, although that may just be because Venice is expensive. Rooms and bathroom are a little on the small side but sufficient. We put the AC down to 18 C but I don't think it ever got down that low because we were still a bit hot at night. I thought breakfast was fine (my partner didn't, but then again he's a whiny prat), and the lady at the front desk in the morning was really helpful and called our next hotel for us. Extremely convenient to the train station and Piazza Roma (where you can catch a bus from the airport).

We were very happy with the Belle Epoque. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The breakfast was excellent. The location was great--very convenient to where the train and bus arrives in Venice, an easy walk with luggage and convenient to water buses for excursions. The only downside was paper thin pillows (the front desk was good about giving us extras so we could double up) and they have no secure bag room. We were instructed to leave our bags under the stairs for several hours on our last day till our flight so we wondered if they would be there upon our return.

Beautiful lobby, excellent breakfast. Staff weren't the most pleasant but I wouldn't be either if I had to deal with as many tourists as does Venice.

The Hotel was efficiently run and we found the position perfect for our first trip to Venice. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff were always helpful. Could do with improving the coffee served at breakfast but that thats my only slight gripe!

After reading many terrible reviews we were very concerned that the hotel would spoil our stay. however, the hotel was great. yes - the rooms were small but our room was well decorated and maintained with a small terrace. it had everything we needed. the breakfast room was lovely and breakfast was what we would expect in a italy hotel and the waitress was very helpful and friendly. the staff at reception were fine. they were not over friendly but polite and helpful. the hotel lacked a bit of character but it was venice that we wanted to see so it suited us just fine. the position of the hotel was great and only 5 minutes walk from piazzale roma. i think that a new bridge has just been opened which takes you straight to the station - only a couple of minutes stroll away. overall - the hotel was good and we were happy with our stay there

The room was very confortable, but could hear the people talking in the other room. Internet was not working in the room, had to go in the lobby. The people at the reception were very helpful and nice. The breakfeast was very good. And the hotel is very well located...5 minutes walking from the tren station. Would go back anytime...

This hotel is well situated 100m from the railway station along the main tourist drag to the Rialto Bridge and S. Marco. Although the outside looks unremarkable, the elegant reception area inside is a pleasant surprise. The overall décor is a matter of taste, you may find it ebullient or just over the top, certainly it is the most memorable thing about the hotel. We had a rather dark room at the back with a small shower room. The breakfast was nondescript, as, unfortunately, was much of the service in general. It also seemed very expensive for what it was.

The staff in the front desk is excellent that they are very polite and helpful. Location is prefect and it is near the train station by 5 minutes walking distance. Many shops are opened until 9pm and close to the hotel.

The room was far too small for 3 persons and the 3rd bed was really uncomfortable. The staff was not very welcoming; barely answered questions and made you feel that you were disturbing. On top of that, the breakfast was not very nice. Coffee is instant coffee!!! What a shame! I think it's too expenseive for the services provided.

Belle Epoque is one of the best hotel in Venice to stay. It's not only very close to the train station, the place is really perfect and in the right spot. The staff are kind and helpful, though some can't hardly speak English, but that's not a problem. The hallway is very beautiful and welcoming. Room is very neat and clean. Bathroom is not bad. The only thing I want to comment is that, try to make the warm water stays longer if possible. Coz we americans like warm water to take a shower. Overall I would like to recommend this place to everybody who are visiting Venice to stay. In the future I will book this same hotel again if I have a chance to go back there again. Chiao!

Lovely hotel in a central location close to train station and central Venice. Room was well furnished/styled and comfortable. The only negative of the stay was the rude/indifferent reception staff. Great value for money.

The room they gave us had a very unpleasant smell. You could hardly stay inside and even more hardly you could sleep in it. Very bad experience!!!

Hotel has great location, breakfast very good. Rooms were nice.

Very close to train station - no bridges or water to cross. We stayed in a double room which was very Venetian decorating style. Both the room and bathroom were smaller than our hotel room in Rome, but adequate. Breakfast was served with croissants, breads, cereal, fresh fruit, peaches, yogurt, ham, cheese, juice and hot drinks. Internet was available in lobby for 3 euros for a one hour period of time to be used over a month time frame. We would stay there again.

The hotel was very nice and the location is unbeatable for access to and from the station. One problem with a receptionist when asked about getting to the cruise ship terminal. He stated the only way was to call us a cab at €65. When asked about a water taxi he quoted €85. After a quick visit to the tourist office we found out that a short walk to Piazzale Roma and 1€ on the people mover we would be at the cruise ship terminal....saving us €64! Obviously, there is a commission for the receptionist somewhere there! Apart from him everyone else was great, as were the rooms.

First time in Venezia. The proximity with the train station and the parking is very useful. The location is great if you want to use the public transportation.Great hotel for the price!

Very close to both train station and bus station, hence 40 minutes walk from Piazza San Marco. Everything was great except for a strange smell coming out of our air conditioner.

1st time in Venice. The hotel was very nice, the reception staff were very helpful, the rooms excellent (air-con'd), however there were small ants in our bathroom which let it down. Beds were changed daily as were towels which was great. As for breakfast...the quality of food wasn't good and lacked choice and freshness, however I rate the food in Venice overpriced and of poor quality in general. We ate out for our lunch and dinner every day at a different restaurant each time and id say you get more menu choice and better quality from your local take aways in the UK for half the price..! Everything is in walking distance of the hotel, its literally a 5-8min walk from getting off the bus at P.Roma and about a 3min walk from the railway station. The waterbus stop is right outside the hotel and St.Marks is about a 30min walk through the narrow crowded streets. Id personally take the waterbus as its a nice ride there and you see quite alot more. Not many pub's/bars in Venice in general, mainly restaurants, and most restaurants don't like you just having a drink as we and others found out. Would go back, and id recommend for couples.

This is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in and it was in a great location just a short walk from the train station. The room was beautiful as was the rest of the hotel.

The occasion was our 3yr wedding anniversary. We stayed 3days and 2 nights. Perfect location (next to the train station, in the main road), the room was gorgeous. Very romantic.

1st visit and hotel was close to station and easy to find. A pity Reception staff were not more welcoming or helpful. Very attractive decor in all areas and good breakfast. Lift was a boon. Interesting and fun area for new arrivals. Were able to walk to bus station to get shuttle for Cruise terminal.

We had a pleasent stay.It was our first visit to Venice and the critical point for us was location.Coming from the Milan Fair, we were carrying a lot of stuff and it was a pleasent surprise to find the hotel right next to the station.Lots of tourists around all through the day.A lot of eating places.Vaperatto station close by...all in all, we were at the center of things.The rooms though are oddly planned..lots of bright red wall paper..odd shaped spaces..couch facing blank wall.And a tiny run down 14" TV. BUT THEN, IT IS THE LOCATION.

The lift doesn't go to my room! I think it only goes to one wing of the hotel.

The hotelroom was good(7),at the streetside so a bit loud. The gentleman at the reception was not friendly at all, he had no time to say hello as we entered the hotel and stayed that way the following 4 days. We think his brother was at the coffemachine at breakfast, because he was just the same! Breakfast was very good. One minuspoint: the buffet was in a very small room, so it was soon crowded, but the breakfastroom itself was ok. The other staff at breakfast was very frienly and helpfull. The location is excellent, you can reach all the highlights,just walking or by boat. We were there in march and in the morning the water of the shower was not very hot,so if you like a hot shower take it in the evening. For a short stay I would take this hotel again.

The room was clean but somewhat cramped. We didn't stay long, so it wasn't a problem. The breakfast was one of the best we had. The location was very convenient to the train station.

I would like to share my great stay at The Belle Epoque Hotel last weekend of February. I was expecting to find a very regular kind of hostel but I got surprised with such pretty and charming hotel. As you go in, it seems like you are transported to many centuries ago, but very new, bright and clean. I just loved it, the room was large, with nice decoration, all red but amaizing, and the staff very kind. The breakfast is included and very good, the room very pretty and well decorated and the waiters spotless, very kind and helpfull. Thank you very much to Belle Epoque to have helped me to spend a very nice weekend with my wife in Venice.

This was an excellent hotel at an excellent price. The only drawback was they staff - the all seemed to be miserable, except the very blonde girl at the front desk, and the asian man in the kitchen. The breakfast was fairly good. The rooms were excellent.

The breakfast room is grand, but the place for food is too small. The decoration of each room is very Ventian.

Close to the railway station, buses and parking, so you don't need to travel with your baggage through narrow streets of Venice. Quite and clean rooms, but a bit small ones. Not very friendly welcoming. Fair price/quality.

Close to both the main Venice Station and the bus drop off points, it's really easy to find. The room was small, but very comfortable and did its job. Let's face it - if you want to sit in your hotel room - why are you in Venice?? it's about half an hour walk to St Mark's square, which is clearly sign posted along the main tourist route or a water bus stops virtually on the hotel's doorstep. Excellent value.

Hotel Belle Epoque is excellent in service and the breakfast was great! We stayed in a twin but converted to a double. We liked specially the Venetian design of the hotel and I would recommend the hotel to my friends. We also like to commend Raul the waiter during breakfast, he was good in his job. We will definitely go back to Hotel Belle Epoque

Lo mejor del hotel la situación, cerca de la estación en una calle muy animada por tiendas y a escasa distancia del centro, personal del hotel muy amable, hotel limpio. El desayuno muy pobre en cuanto a surtido,pero un exquisito capuchino,como calidad /precio lo encuentro un poco caro para un tres estrellas. El baño demasiado pequeño. Pero en general recomendaría este hotel.

I would highly recommend this hotel. It is close to the train station and the bus loop, which is important because getting around Venice is not easy with heavy luggage. The price is also low for comparable hotels. The rooms are clean, although small (I would imagine all hotel rooms are small in Venice). The breakfast is quite good and included in the price. Also, the staff is very friendly and helpful. In the room I stayed in, it was very quiet, however the walls were quite thin. I could hear the toilets and water running from the neighbouring rooms. However, I believe this is unavoidable for any hotel in this price range, since the buildings are very old.

The hotel was clean, convenient, and friendly. However our satisfaction with the hotel was spoiled by an incident. The maid threw away an irreplaceable item that was left in a plastic bag in the room. The front desk stated that nothing should be left in plastic bags as it could be mistaken for garbage. However the maid did remove ONE item from that very plastic bag, yet threw away the other item in the bag. I would recommend this hotel but beware of leaving ANYTHING in plastic bags.

Ideal in terms of location for good, reasonably priced (for Venice) facilities and the train and bus station. Hotel was comfortable, not too highly priced (for Venice) especially with current strength of Euro and weakness of UK Pound.

We spent 3 nights at Belle Epoque. Good location, nice look (rooms are very decorated), good breakfast, helpful staff. Negative: bad smell outside (we could not let the window open, quite small room (but that is a general problem in Venice), air conditioned started automatically when we left the room. I reccomend the hotel and would return there for short trips.

Ottima posizione, a pochi passi dalla stazione ferroviaria e dall'imbarco dei vaporetti, abbondanza di ristoranti lungo la stessa via. Sulla pulizia nulla da eccepire, efficienti i bagni, silenziose le camere e ben arredate. Un po' stretta la zona buffet per la colazione (adeguata anche se non molto varia, deliziose le brioches). Nella reception infastidisce l'odore di chiuso quando è in funzione l'aria condizionata, nulla di grave però. Personale cortese e disponibile. Il rapporto qualità/prezzo mi sembra adeguato per l'alta stagione (due persone in matrimoniale ad agosto). In conclusione il soggiorno si è rivelato piacevole e senza alcun inconveniente: i punti di forza sono la posizione perfetta, le camere stile '700 e il prezzo adeguato.

Belle Epoque will forever be a part of my special memories of visiting the majical city of Venice. My room was quiet, clean, well furnished and very comfortable. The bathroom was also clean and spacious. I was very amused by the silk padded walls and the mirrors on the ceiling. I had travelled to the area to run a half marathon, and even with my large apetite I found the breakfast to be more than ample with good variety. The coffee served was close to the best I experienced in Italy. The hotel's location is excellent. It is very close to the train station so walking with luggage to the hotel is easy. The thousands of interesting shops and resteraunts begin immidiately outside the front door, and once beginning down the first narrow street I didn't stop exploring until many hours later. A turn from the hotel's front door in the other direction leads one to either the first beautiful foot-bridge across the main canal or the water transit station. After a three day stay I saddly left Venice by train for Florence. However, while on the train I realized I had left my pasport and valuables in the hotel safe back in Venice. I wasn't even upset that I had to get off the train in Balogne to return to the Belle Epoque one more time to get my pasport, and also to have one more pizza and beer beside the canal. And to say final good-bye's to the most friendly staff at the Belle Epoque. I plan to return next year with my wife. Another stay at the Belle Epoque is part of the Venice experience I hope to share with her.

The only negative I encountered was the gentleman who maned the front desk in the afternoon and early evenings. He was curt and rather abrupt when I asked simple questions. One time I had to wait at least 5 minutes while he was on a personal phone call, he just ignored me. Otherwise I was very pleased with our stay. The room was small but very adequate. It was quiet, a/c worked well and the bathroom was very adequate. The directions given were very good and it's location so close to the train station, was great.

The only disconcerting fact about this hotel is that the lift goes only upto the 3rd floor. One has to carry luggage one floor up to the fourth floor where we had two rooms. When I asked at the reception about the lift the man said "be thankful there is a lift to the third floor. In three star hotels you dont have any lifts, but we have one upto the third." It was quite rude, but perhaps it only sounded rude because he did not speak good good English. It aslo made me think that he had a myopic vision about the hotel industry as many two star hotels also have lifts. In one block there is no lift at all. My room was in this block, the stairs were steep and I did not bother to take my luggage up at all. Its quite an inconvenience in an otherwise excellent hotel.

Location is great, 3 minutes walk from St Lucia Train Station. Virtually you can go anywhere from here. Hotel room is well decorated. A triple room we book eventually doesn't have lift access, so taking big luggage would be issue. But for other rooms we stayed have lift. Breakfast is Italian standard, good but not many varieties.

We stayed for 4 days. Nice and comfortable location! Good service and facilities! I would definitely recommend! Visiting Venice agian I would the book the same hotel!

En general el servicio es satisfactorio, podrían mejor en la bienvenida y el acceso a wi-fi en las habitaciones pues te cobran el servicio pero no tiene buena cobertura.

I've book a single room. The site of VENERE said that the hotel had lift. But when I came there, the man wich were in reception said that single rooms didn't have access by lift, only by stairs. I've a disability and the Venere.com din't said nothing about that...Finally, the man have offered me a double room in ground floor. But I was very nervous...

Interaction w/ staff was overall very positive. Personable and efficient. Hotel seems to attract families and single tourists. Breakfast was adequate. The only negative was the rooftop solarium was closed and that is what had attracted me to this property.

Estuvimos 2 días. Desayuno buffet triste, como en todos los de Italia norte en que he estado. Lo malo: un tio semicalvo y borde de unos 40 y pico años de la recepción me vaciló con que no sabía inglés (porque no entendía su respuesta) y resultó que fue él el que no sabe (porque no entendió mi pregunta y respondió cualquier cosa. Vaya payaso). No confundir con calvete de unos 30 y tantos majete. El resto bien. A 1 minuto o menos del tren en la calle principal. Habitaciones reformadas. We stayed 2 days. Poor buffet breakfast, like in all North Italy hotels where I've stayed. A stupid half-bald recepcionist told me I didn't know speak english (because I didn't understand his answer) and later we got to another conclusion: it was him who didn't speak (because he didn't understand my question and answered anything). Rest of thing were OK, 1 minute or less far from trains in the main street. Renovated rooms.

Reception was really poor. The guy must have had a bad or troubled day. He was rude for no reason.

The Hotel is located only 5 minutes from the train station. The nearby is full of shops and restaurants. But it's not so close to San Marco. The rooms are lovely designed. Unfortunately our room was really small but clean, quiet and air-conditioned. The breakfast is adequate. The staff is friendly. We enjoyed the stay.

Laggage room for customer can not lock and no body take a look at there is the only problem, else are good.

La stanza singola non era molto spaziosa, per un soggiorno breve è comunque ottima. Camere tranquille e pulite. Buono rapporto qualità/prezzo.

We paid 80 Euros and got the highest quality in Venice! It's a 3 star hotel located conveniently near the train station (3 min walk) and on a main street of Venice. The hotel is very elegant with beautiful decor. Breakfast was included. We had a large bathroom and a balcony in the back of the hotel so it was quiet. I will always stay at Belle Epoque if I ever go to Venice again and would recommend it to everyone!!!

We loved the hotel, we had a very large room, 1st floor, in front. New bathroom. Very quiet. The air condition was just perfect. Great breakfast. We choose this hotel, for its location (post-cruise) and near everything, restaurants, cafés, train bus stations. Can't wait to go back.

Excellent hotel & great location for exploring Venice

The hotel is nice located close to the railway and the big parking places. Lots of street life just outside the hotel. The rooms are big an comfortable but we where disturbed by the sound of water running somewhere behind the walls. We never found out where it came from. Venice is an expensive place to stay but this hotel has a high standard compaired to the price.

The price-performance ratio was very good and for a next stay in Venice we would choose the hotel again.

Mold smell in room, on noisy street, maids left room unlocked all day, some of the hotel staff dont even acknowledge you when you enter or leave. Left room keys out for anyone to take while you were out.

Great location, friendly service, very accomadating with luggage pre-check-in and post check-out. Good food for breakfast. Highly recommend. Wish we could have stayed longer.

I stayed just one night with my mother but it was enough to say that this hotel is super. The rooms are lovely as shown in the photos, very clean and silent (our room faced a quite courtyard). Breakfast is okay and has a large choice. The nearby is full of shops and restaurants. It's not so close to San Marco, but it's okay if you stay for a short period and you need to be close to the rail station. I will surely come back!

Nice room and excellent location(near train station), and the room I live is much more nicer than I expect. The only one thing is not good..there is some smell from the room. But over all is very nice, breakfast great,clean room,nice staff ,price ok ;) I'm satisfy with their service!!

Le service à la réception dépendait beaucoup de l'employé "de garde": une jeune femme charmante, un jeune homme très correct ou un homme mûr très sec et peu attentionné, ce qui n'est pas très agréable, surtout si c'est lui qui accueille le premier jour. De même, les personnes qui s'occupaient du petit déjeuner n'étaient pas des plus enjouées. Un peu juste les articles de la salle de bain pour un trois étoiles: une petite savonnette et une pochette de gel douche pour chacun. Dommage car l'hôtel est très bien situé et les chambres et parties communes meublées avec beaucoup de goût.

Molto molto carino! Le stanze sono esattamente come appaiono nelle foto: il loro stile, che i altre città potrebbe risultare un po' pacchiano, a Venezia è assolutamente adatto ed aiuta ad immergersi in un'atmosfera settecentesca. Unica nota negativa, il cattivo odore nei pressi della reception

The rooms where very small, but that was not an inconvenient, they were very well decorated. The location of the hotel and price very good. The breackfast was nice. The woman receptionist in the morning was very very nice and kind. Not to say the same from the man in the evenings: that was the only fault we found in the hotel.

The only negative point is the poor view from the room windows.

Rapport qualité/prix excellent pour Venise. Localisation parfaite: quelques pas de Santa Lucia station et des vaporato désservant Venise et les iles à toutes heures du jour et de la nuit. Hotel refait et meublé dans le style Vénitien avec gout. Buffet de petit déjeuner bien rempli. Bon accueil sympathique. Le gardien décrit comme mal aimable est toujours là. Mais il travail énormement sur de très longues journées. Ceci explique peut être cela. Nous avons réussi à le faire sourire. Nous y retournerons.

4 all the people that finds this hotel and compare to the San Marco square and looks that far..its not...from hotel to that no longer then 20 min max on foot....10 to the Rialto Bridge....stayng on a hotel close to san marco would make u keep that area but getting this one u will see all the way to the hotel and its surounding which are great... so its very close to piazzale roma just be sure when u leave that piazzale u are doing it on that high long glass bridge then walk that street where u will pass in front of the train station u'll find the hotel ...has the best entrance ...very cute rooms are big enough for the price..i paid 60Euro brekfast included....smells nice in the room ,everyday cleaning and towels changed,overall it was greeat..has that venice looks that would want to have but without the smell of oldies not so great was all day everyday breakfast....we stayed 5 nights soo...we were kinda tired but we managed and tried to eat everyday difrent from all they had so...get the hotel its the best ...worth it ,better in real

Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis im Monat März war für venezianische Verhältnisse sehr gut! Die Lage ist eine gute Basis; Vaporetto-Station um die Ecke. Das Einzelzimmer war allerdings sehr klein, mit defekter Klimaanlage. Schöner Frühstücksraum und Empfangshalle. Frühstück war noch ok. Insgesamt ein empfehlenswertes Hotel!
