I would call the hotel very good if breakfasts wold be better. seemed like juices were mixed with water, coffee - VERY poor quality.. no fresh fruits almost no choice what to eat... Anyway the hotel is in nice place. The room was clean, large and silent. Bathroom was also very OK.

I had a lovely room under the roof, bright and clean room and bath as well. Staff sympathic and friendly, I felt myself very welcome there. Location near the main street but in a quiet corner, 5 minutes to the beach and 5 minutes to the water transfer to Venice. Perfect for a short holiday.

Our stay WAS NOT pleasant! Ferry ride 46 Euro. Unwelcoming staff. Small rooms that smelled. The transportation went on strike, I was required to pay the room rental even though leaving early or else be stranded for 24 hours and pay an additional night of room rentals.(We had 2 rooms) Parking is 10 Euro per night, they keep the keys and staff does not have license to move cars so you can get out. When inquiring about the strike I "was just a woman" and because I needed to know what to do they considered and called me "agressive" for asking questions. Super nice to my husband though!!! American's, Soldiers, Women BEWARE of this place. NOT EVER GOING BACK!

The hotel was excellent. We had a family room that was very spacious and quite nice. Getting there was extremely frustrating! We spent an hour trying to find the correct ferry. The signage is terrible/non existent and the hotel does not provide any information at all. Similarly when we got to the island we spent a long time trying to find the hotel. Again, the hotel did not provide directions from the ferry. We called the hotel and the person did not speak english and could not help us find our way. Very frustrating at 9pm when you have been driving all day.

Familie with one child (11 years). Nice hotel with air conditioned rooms. A very good place to start sightseeings to venice and to spend some days on the beach. (Not very cheap when you book a laterale but very comfortable!). Breakfast was very italien style. Some dry bread an some sweets. Coffee is better to drink outside. Over all a good recomendation to stay a few days here. Good restaurant with home made pasta and fresh fish close to the hotel (Africa).

The only drawback I have to make is that the breakfast is very limited in content. There is only one type of cheese (small smearable triangular shape), no meat or fish (i.e. salami, herring or jambon), only boiled eggs but no vegetables at all, only one roll of bread is provided (but plenty of ready made toast). However, there are all coffee kinds from an automatic good quality machine. Finally, in spite of the declared availability of internet WIFI only in the lobby (10 euro for the whole stay in my case 5 nights, I found WIFI working also in my room).

Lovely hotel with (mostly) friendly and helpful staff. Very nice room (penthouse double) with a big terrace with a great view into Venice. Absolutely recommendable, and we would definitely like to come back to this place. Only tip to hotel staff: Sleeping pillows were very flat/hard/uncomfortable, probably quite old - investing in some new ones might be a good idea...!

The hotel is situated on the fantastic island Lido di Venezia from which one can easily reach any spot of interest by small boats which are pretty regular and work all day. Rooms are cosy and spacious. The surrounding is quiet and looks safe. There is a small yard behind the Hotel which is used as parking. Although the hotel is advertised as a hotel with parking, parking is charged extra. Recepcionist's recommendation was to pay for the parking just in case, even though it was obvious to me I did not need one, while there are regular parking lots and the island is safe. However, the overall impression is that the Hotel is very nice and offers everything one would expect.

We had a pleasant stay of 6 days in the Lido de Venezia as it is a short boat trip across to Venice itself and we found the Lido a nice contrast to the narrow alleyways of Venice. Hotel Augusta was as described on website.

Outstanding is the only word i can use to describe this place. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the Hotel itself was amazing. Great room in a great location. The location was easy to get to but felt distanced from the main tourist drag which gave it a quieter relaxed feeling. Plenty of great resturants close by and an easy walk to transport links. One of the best places i stayed in Europe.

This hotel is not in the downtown of Venizia, but it's near the port of Lido and it's convenient to go everywhere of Venizia. The room is not very spacious, but it has a very big and beautiful balcony. The staff is very kind, he helps me to print the confirmation of Uffizi and post the postcards. We spend 2 nights there. That's a happy experience.

We spent one Night in Venice - and staying at the Atlanta Augusta was absolutly brilliant. The Hotel was clean, easy accessible, quiet, the people were really nice, breakfast was good and enough (unless you really need cold cuts to survive in the morning) . It definitely was one of our best overnight stays.

The hotel was great, It is on Lido, which is quieter and have a holiday feeling after the bustle in Venice town. The hotel is closer to the landing point of the vaparetto than the maps lead you to believe. Be shure to take a printout of a good map view, I did not :-) you don't need to take any bus or taxi. Straight up and to the right on the "main street". Nice, clean and quiet hotel, breakfast is extended continental, not bad. Not the cheapest hotel but italy is not a low cost destination.

Unfortunately I had to cancel my reservation last minute because my flight had been cancelled the same way - and as it was too late for a regular "storno" I called up the Hotel in the early morning of my arrival-day in order to ask for a written storno-dokument(I do need it in order to get reemboursed from the airplanecompany). The male person I spoke to (on April 23 08)sent me back to "venere" with my demand, since for his meaning they were responsible for it because I had booked through them...he was not very interested in my needs... this caused me several more E-mails with VENERE and my flightprovider - who very nicely helped than out without a written confirmation through the Hotel.I think that the manager of Hotel Atlanta should know about this misinformation of his coworkers - the situation was sad enough for me since I could not spend the two days on the LIDO as I had hoped for when I booked it.... I still will try one day to catch a "last minute bargain" - stay at the ATLANTA - since I did like it from visits as a guest of their guest in the past... chi vivra vedra - Teresa S Berlin Germany

The room and location are excelent. Less are the offered breakfast which includes no fruits or vegetables. Finally, I was mislead to understand the hotel provides Internet access. Indeed I had a cable hole in the room (none in the lobby) but no cable could be provided. After I purchased a cable at a nearby shop I found that there is no internet available via the cable slot. This really dissapointed me a lot. Nevertheless, for the time I was there (30/6-5/7/07) and the other hotel options the price was reasonable Euro140 BB.

We enjoyed staying in this friendly hotel. The rooms were beautifully furnished and in a good state of repair, the staff were friendly and helpful. The small breakfast room was slightly cramped but we were only placed in it for one morning; after that, there were presumably more guests and the large room was used, which was perfectly pleasant. The staff were permanently present in the breakfast room so that guests could ask for cappuchino or other special types of coffee to be made at the coffee machine; otherwise, there was normal filter coffee as part of the buffet. We had rooms overlooking the front but were not troubled by noise except for a bit of canal works which didn't bother us as we were getting up by then anyway. We were usually back by 10 or 10.30 pm. We enjoyed being on Lido di Venezia with the evening view across to Venice on one side of the island and the Adria on the other side. We also enjoyed the relative evening quiet. We found a brilliant restaurant for small meals, Mille Voglie with exceedingly friendly staff. We would happily go back to Atlanta Augustus.

We spent 3 nights in April in the family room. It had 2 rooms and a loft. To reach it, we had to go out the back of the hotel, down some stairs and then back up some more stairs. Not easy with luggage and small children.Decor could be updated and non functioning kitchenette should be removed. No mini fridge but it did have a stove and lots of cabinets. Breakfast room in uninviting basement along with construction.

Where do i begin - it was horrible from the beginning; there is no use of air conditioning throughout the entire first floor where reception and the dining area are- and it was stifling hot during this period. The hotel is very small, the dining area is barely that, immediately to the left of the entrance. The junior "penthouse" suite is a misrepresentation to make the client think they are actually getting a penthouse suite, when in fact it's only a room at the top floor, "l'attico"; no luxury or elegance as implied by the term the hotel uses. then we were given another room -much better, but there were serious leaks from the pipes of the bathroom sinks when we got inside. The air conditioner was very loud and it was extremely cold inside the room anytime of day. I also discovered ants all over the runner that is laid down and runs the entire length of the corridor in front of the elevator, that was the topping on the cake! The people at the concierge desk were indifferent and cold after we arrived, never a hello or goodbye, no acknowledgement from the person behind the desk. The "parking facility" as described in the write up is nothing more than a very narrow driveway behind the hotel which allows for no more than two cars to be parked at one time - we were lucky in this sense as we actually got a spot the day we arrived. But the hotel charges 20 euros a day for parking, and no one helped us out the day we left as a motorcycle was parked so close to us it blocked our ability to exit! I felt that this hotel has done a great job misrepresenting it's facility and it's service to travelers, i would never stay there again. Don't let the phtograph fool you.

Very charming, even romantic, hotel. The room given my wife and I was a spacious upstairs corner with a balcony. Very nicely appointed with very modern full bathroom. Since it was the first of July the price was not yet at full season rate and we considered it excellant value. There is a large public beach about 10 min walk from the hotel. The water taxi landing is a 6 min walk from the hotel. Shops, restaurants, food stores within a few minutes walk. North Lido is an excellant location from which to visit Venice proper (15 min by water taxi) while offering a quiet neighborhood atmosphere to come back to. We will most definately come back here again. The hotel even gave us a small parting gift! A memorable visit for all the right reasons!

Overall it was a pretty nice stay. The hallways were really comforting and clean - the room as well. As for complaints - nothing too terrible. The sheets were very thin and our "queen" bed consisted of two twin beds placed next to each other. My elbow ripped right through the sheet when I laid down on the bed. We only had enough hot water for about 12 minutes too - but we were used to that so not a problem. It was nice.

We stayed or the weekend of Carnivale and I am glad we stayed at this quaint little hotel which was in Lido away from the madness of S. Marco. The hotel was very clean yet small but just right. It is fairly contemporary, our room was a bit plain in decor (walls were bare) but the rooms and especially the bathroom were very clean. In fact, it looked like it had been recently renovated it was in that good a shape. The water in the tub kind of teetered between hot and cold so it was kind of of tricky getting it to just the right spot on warm, it was very sensitive. Beds were a bit more firm than i would like but the cleanliness of the room more than made up for it. The staff was very nice and allowed us to leave our bags in the private office the day we checked out. I recommend this place and would definitely stay again. In terms of location, the Vaporetto stop is only about a 5-10 min walk depending on your pace and then you take line 1 to go the square. We would actually stop a few stops ahead of the square so we would not get off when the rest of the boat was getting off. That way, we could wander throught the streets while making our way to the square. Wandering around all the streets and looking at all the quaint little shops is part of the fun of Venice.

It was a very nice hotel in lovely and quite surroundings. Just a few minutes walk from the ferry wich takes you both to center of Venice or to the airport. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. It's location, rooms and services were all above expectations. We were on a tight budget and thought we got excellent value for money. Clean, well kept rooms and good service. The only down side was poorly performing air conditioning. Staying on The Lido gave access to better quality food and services. The water bus to Venice was easy to use and convenient for the hotel.

A pretty good value for the money, atleast as far as venice goes. Lido is a good option as it is cheaper and quieter, but still close enough to be in the center of venice in 15-20 minutes. this hotel is maybe a 5-10 minute walk from the dock at lido & easy to find following signs on streets. furnishings were second rate, but the rooms were spacious enough, and the beds were comfortable.

I have been to Venice (Lido) three times, each time to a different hotel, and this one was the one I prefered. The building itself was lovely, the desk people were most accomodating, and the breakfast was fresh and appealing. I have already recommended it to several people, and hope to return there in the not-too-distant future.
