This was a great location - very convenient to all activities as it was near the plaza for the buses and the people mover and also right on the Grand Canal. Plenty of restaurants close. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was small but quite adequate. I would recommend this location and would certainly stay there again.

Really friendly, informative and attentive staff. Checked in 2 hours early so they took are bags and kept them in back for us until the room was was ready. Great location next to the piazale roma (bus to airport) and a 5 minute walk to the Grand Canal. Really only one complaint. The bed was a little hard. But I slept like a baby so it couldn't have been to uncomfortable. Highly recommended!

Excellent position! Although compact room, it was tastefully decorated and we loved our view down onto the canal, all the way through to the Grand Canal! The Breakfast Room was sweet and the meal was excellent. Our room was a standard double room.

This hotel is perfect if you wish to be close to the Plaza Roma transit hub and the Vaporetto plus the ATV blue line. Restaurant prices are lower. Somewhat distant to the center of town.

The hotel is an ideal location for an overnight stay before or after a cruise because it is close to the pier and transportation to and from the airport. There was just one small bridge to cross from the Piazzale Roma. We had a quad room which was at the very top of the hotel so we had quite a few stairs to climb. We noticed later that there is a baggage storage depot at the Piazzale Roma so if you could use that if you didn't want to lug all of your luggage to the hotel and up the stairs. They do have a very small elevator but it only goes to the 5th floor. We were in Room 905. It was about a 20 minute walk to the Rialto Bridge with lots of shopping on the way. It is very easy to lose your way in Venice so the walk can get much longer.

Convenient location to bus terminal and not far from train station. Employees spoke excellent English and were very friendly and helpful (ie with directions and put bags in room). Breakfast was excellent and started at 0700. Nice sized bathroom. Would gladly stay here again.

This hotel was fantastic. So conveniently located! The staff was great even finding and holding a sweater that had been left in the closet. They were a wonderful source of information on just about everything. The breakfast was yummy and the whole hotel was warm and welcoming. We loved opening our windows onto a canal and watching the boats.

Very nice old time European hotel, located conviently right next to the Piazzale Roma, the central bus stop for buses going in and out of Venice with shuttle buses to our cruise line, and near the train station and a central vaporetto stop too. The hotel was old fashioned but nice. The wireles internet was hit or miss and the hotel had no means to print next day airline boarding passes, but other than that everything went smoothly and we enjoyed our stay.

Our room was tiny and two people could not pass while standing. One had to sit while the other moved. The bathroom included a small 4 foot tub with a shower but no shower curtain and friends encountered the same in another room. The room was clean and the staff very helpful. Our room was on the front corner overlooking a canal. A great view but it was also quite noisy well into the late evening and again in the early morning.

The Hotel was close to the cruise port and Piazzale Roma so after taking the ATVO Bus from the Airport the property was close by with a sign that was clearly visible from the bus terminal. It was a short walk over a bridge to the hotel. The Room was quite large with a magnificent view of a busy canal.(We actually heard other travellers complain about the size of their rooms) Furnishings need to be restored as there was evidence of wear on the desk and night tables. Breakfast was more than adequate, however, the room is small so there may be some waiting time involved.

The location is great for arriving from public services or from a cruise and for walking tours of Venice. The hotel room was very small but well decorated and with a good but crowded wash room. No shower curtain, so very wet floor. No lounge coupled with small room makes it good for short stays.

We were first allocated a tiny, but extremely clean, room. Without complaining, we were reallocated to a much larger and lovely room, when available the next day. The staff inreception were first class; more helpful and informative than at any hotel we have ever visited. Breakfast was good, service good, rooms clean and well appointed. Excellent value for money; great position for access from both bus and rail links and for walking access to the city.

We were re-directed to the Hotel Olympia, Best Western on arrival. However, we were very impressed with the hotel. It was beautiful and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The noise during the night was disturbing though, from outside in the street. We also had a meal at the neighbouring snack bar which was very good. In general our stay in Venice, which was before our cruise was impressive. Thank you very much, we will return!

We stayed at this hotel one night en route to the Dolomites to ski, and one night when we returned. It was very convenient for that purpose as we went by bus. The staff was great. We were leaving too early in the morning to get breakfast so they offered us a bag breakfast before we asked for one - and it was a lot of food. We did get shifted to the Olimpia on the return, but it was not a problem. The breakfast there was excellent.

Friendly staff; convenient location, especially when taking bus from airport. Room was charming--little decor details similar to the Doges Palace! Room was small but perfect for one person, myself, and had a view to canal. Included breakfast was very good. Easy to get to P. San Marco from hotel and enjoy the grand canal along the way. I would stay here again.

Excellent location and friendly service. Very close to the cruise, bus and train terminal. The room was a bit small, but understandable for an older building in Venice. Great views of the canal. The staff handled the flood waters very well and assisted guests. Also very happy with our stay at The Olympia Hotel which is a "sister" hotel very close by.

All in all, the hotel was great. The young man that checked us in was very nice and friendly as was the night desk clerk and the morning desk clerk (we left about 5:00am). The location was good and bad, it was convenient as we arrived early Saturday morning after disembarking from a cruise ship and only had to lug our bags across one bridge to get to the hotel. It was a very short walk. The bad part was that there was a lot of noise during the night...quite a few people out drinking and partying. But overall, for the location and price, the hotel met our needs perfectly. It was clean and was very much as described on your website. We had a corner room overlooking a canal and we were able to drop our luggage off when we arrived at 8:00a so we were able to spend the morning walking around Venice. The room was small, but I understand that is common in Europe and for one night, it was just fine.

The man who was there the morning my wife and I checked out was so pleasant and helpful. He came in at 11 PM the night before. I apologize for not remembering his name but he was really knowledgeable about the bus lines and knew the history of Venice. We asked what the big deal was about all the masks and he knew the answer. Thanks Gary A. Serago

Hotel Arlecchino, while a little bit expensive, is well worth it for someone who has a lot of luggage and doesn't want to pay for a water taxi to take it to your hotel. The location is fantastic for tourists who just got off the airport shuttle or train. The service was outstanding from the front desk, to the bellmen, to the breakfast room staff and to the cleaning staff. In Venice, everything is within walking distance, so we saw no need to stay in the heart of it and probably would have had to pay more for the same service we received here. And we had a fantastic view of one of the waterways with the gondolas going up and down all day long.

After taking the bus from the airport, Hotel Arlecchino is in an excellent location and very easy to find. Does not require additional transfer to waterbus or watertaxi; you can walk directly to the hotel in five minutes, just over one bridge. We had a corner room with marvelous views of the canals. Staff could not have been nicer. Was impressed how quickly they emailed me back when I reconfirmed reservation just before leaving on our trip. Very easy to get to the Grand Canal and any other areas in Venice. Although rooms are on the small side, the hotel is spotless, and would highly recommend.

At check out, the clerk said that the he was unable to take my credit card because the connection was down. Fair enough but, the only options he offered us were to visit the ATM across the canal or leave them a blank authorization for my credit card (!?) Sounded kinda fishy to me. We ended up using the ATM (and missing our bus to the airport as a result).

We stayed one night prior to a cruise. Location is great for people who need to get to the cruise ship. We found some neat restaurants nearby, transportation to and from other popular sights was easy and convenient. It is within steps of the parking area at Plaza del Roma. Small room...doesn't even begin to describe it. Stayed in #902...balcony was nice, but room very very small. Showered on our knees. Couldn't stand upright in the tub with shower. Not ample room for luggage but very clean and nicely decorated room with view of canal off deck. Staff was very helpful.

We had a very good experience with this hotel, we obtained very good touristic information from the desk. They were very friendly all time. The breakfast was normal for a three stars hotel. Great location if you are arriving by bus from the airport. The hotel is 2 minutes from the bus terminal and very easy to find. It means you can drop your luggage and head off to explore without wasting time. You will look at all the other tourists struggling with their bags over the bridges and be thankful for having chosen Arlecchino. The breakfast room is light and airy and looks out over a canal as did my room. As a single traveller, my room was small but beautifully decorated in Venetian style. The bathroom was compact with quality fittings. I will definitely stay there next time I am in Venice.

I arrived at Piazzale Roma around midnight, and as a single traveller, I was worried if I can find the hotel soon. But it was effortless. When I alighted from the bus, I saw the sign of the hotel immediately, and it's just 30 sec away. I was followed by a man after I got off the bus, but I soon entered the hotel, and the man The room is quite small, but with canal view. It is suitable for single travelers like me, arriving very early or very late.

The hotel was nice for a three star. If you get a balcony room it is nice and fun. The bathroom is very small. The location is excellent for someone just getting off a cruice and leaving to an airport the next day or two. You can actually walk to the main atractions if you like to walk. It takes about forty five minutes walk to St. Marco's square. It is a fun walk through small plazas, bridges, restaurants and shops. You can also buy a pass on the water bus which is fine..just takes time to get to the square because it makes a lot of stops...It is fun though... It is pricy for a three star hotel, but it is Venice!!!

When we arrived at the Arlecchino, the hotel we thought we'd booked into and deliberately chose because every room had a canal view and was located in a superb position at the junction of 2 canals-- as shown on the web photo,(bearing in mind this was our silver wedding anniversary trip and intended to be extra special) we were immediately told we were booked into their sister hotel 30 metres away-- the Olimpia-- which looked out onto a narrow canal, facing the bus station! When we complained we were ushered out of the hotel and practically pushed down to the next hotel where the desk clerk sniggered when we demanded a canalside view having been duped into specifically booking the Arlecchino based on the web pictures-- no mention having been made of the Olimpia on the reservation form or their web page. After standing our ground we eventully got the canlside room albeit with a pretty mediocre view and looking stright into the bus station. we felt we'd been conned by the misdescription of the web page. For anyone else booking through Venere for this hotel, we recommend you contact the hotel direct as well and not to rely on Venere's booking confirmation-- and obtain an email confirmation forom the hotel itself that you are indeed booked into the hotel you think you've booked into and not the "ugly sister" next door!

My wife and I visited Venezia during Carnevale, which was very enjoyable. We arrived via train and it was a short walk to the hotel. We found the location very convenient. There was a vaparetto stop very close by and the bus station also. Our room was very lovely with canals on two sides. There were many restaurants close to the hotel. Our breakfast was terrific; there are choice of juices, mineral waters, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, breads, cold meat, cheese. And of course, coffee or tea. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. One of them made a reservation at a restaurant for us. All in all a very pleasant stay.

The hotel is visible from Piazzale Roma so really convenient for your arrival in Venice (no need to take your bags on the vaporetti!). The room was spacious and comfortable well cleaned and kept very warm for us on our return (we travelled in January). The breakfast room was pleasant and the staff friendly. My only complaint would be that the reception staff could have been more pleasant and helpful. One of them recommended a restauarnt that was closed and refused to arrange an early breakfast for us even though our bus only left at 7:10 so we only needed a coffee 10 or 15 mins earlier than normal. When pressed he did arrange a takeaway breakfast (croissant, water, fruit) for us but no coffee!

Make sure you check in early in the day, as the larger rooms go first. We stayed there when we first arrived in Italy and when we were leaving. The arrival night the room was great; the departure night we arrived back in Venice later in the evening and they only had an attic room (seriously) available with a double bed. The bath was only 1/2 size and my husband is a large man. After I regained composure from laughing at the image of him sitting with knees up to his chin, we requested another room. The only one left was just slightly larger--they put two singles in the shape of a 7. Still small, but it worked--and it had a shower. Front desk help was terrific; morning breakfast was great.

I read up on the reviews and they recommended to book a room on the top floor, which we did, room 802. It had two fabulous views of two canals. Easy to find. Easy transportation options (traghetto and bus stops near Piazalle Roma)-only have to carry your bags a short distance before you can drop them at the hotel. Great front desk. I was a single woean traveling alone, and needed a one night place to stay before cathcing a 5 am bus to the airport. This hotel couldn't have been any more convenient. Window overlooking the Grand Canal. Room was very small for the price, and the late night hallway noise from other guests was a distraction. However, I would still recommend the Arlecchino for it's convnient location for buses, easy to find location, and helpful staff.

We had a delightful room overlooking the canal, in a very nicely furnished and decorated room. There were several very good canalside restaurants downstairs, and the hotel provided an excellent breakfast. We were only steps away from the Piazzale Roma for a 5 am bus to the airport, but were never aware of the Piazzale during our stay. It was great to see the hotel as we arrived into the bus station. Breakfast was good, rooms very clean and staff helpful. The hotel looked a little shabby from the outside but was spotless inside. It was very convenient for bus/train/vaporetto. There are a number of restaurants adjacent which we didn't eat at but there were plenty of nice ones a few minutes walk away in Dorsoduro. Whilst we enjoyed getting lost in Venice, we always managed to find our way back to the hotel easily as the adjacent Piazalle Roma was well signposted. I scored the hotel poorly on quietness of room as the adjancent hotel was having scaffolding removed the few days during our visit which was extremely noisy. Therefore we were woken up very early every day, but as the scaffolding had gone when we left I do not anticipate this being a problem for future guests. In summary, good hotel which I would definitely recommend.

The location was a little farther than they indicate as far as getting to the Rialto and other monuments. Otherwise the breakfast was good and the room was very nice. Due to our flight being diverted to Milan because of fog, we didn't actually arrive in Venice until 4am and were a little concerned that our room would not have been held. In the event we had nothing to worry about as they were still expecting us. In fact the most perfect aspect of this hotel at 4am was that we could see it from the bus stop as we drew up! Unlike others, we only had to walk less than 100 yards and we were there. Our room was small but this is in no way a criticism, it was beautifully decorated, clean and warm. The bathroom, although small, was again beautifully decorated and clean. Breakfast was as stated, continental, but plenty to eat. We were 100 yards from the 'end' of the Grand Canal, so if you did not wish to walk into the centre, you could pick up the 'Vaporetto'and have full benefit of the trip along the Grand Canal. However, it only took about 30 minutes to walk to St Marks Square and other central attractions. As we were only there for the weekend we preferred to find a hotel close to the arrival / departure point. The hotel allowed us to leave our bags with them on the last day, so we did not have to carry them around with us. I would definately stay in this hotel again, both for location, cleanliness and helpfulness of the staff.

The Arlechinno is in a great position when coming into Venice by car or transfer bus from the airport. You can actually see the hotel sign illuminated from the bus terminal. But don't let this put you off. Once you are at the hotel, you have no idea that the car park is just round the corner. We like staying at this end of Venice because it is not too far to carry your suitcases. Plus it is right at the start of the Grand Canal, so you can get on the No. 1 waterbus and travel the complete length of the canal (and over to Lido if you wish) and back. The hotel was nice and clean. The rooms were a bit small, but then I think most Venice rooms are. The only thing wrong with the room was that there was no shower curtain (but we've had that before and it's no big problem). Breakfast was good and the service was very pleasant. The hotel is situated on the corner of two canals and is about 100 yards from the grand canal. We recommend you buy the tourist pass for the waterbuses so you can jump on and off as much as you like during your stay. There are some great restaurants in between St. Marks square and over to Ferrovia; about half way between them. We went over to Murano on one of the buses which was a nice change. But don't go on Sunday as all the glass blowing furnaces are closed. Hope that helps

We were pleased to find the hotel was close to the bus station and the Vaperetto stops for the Grande canal which means it has access to any direction, the room was adequate for the two of us and was tastefully furnished and the fittings well looked after. The bathroom while on the small side was very compact and again the fittings are of a good quality..the only down side we thought was the lack of Tea/ Coffee making facilities in the room which we hope may be addressed in the future. we were given room B1 which was a bit of a puzzle as to where it was due to the layout of the hotel but one of the maids showed us to the room. Breakfast was simple and straightforward with a mix of Cereals and rolls, cheese, meat and yoghurt along with Tea Coffee and Orange. Overall a nice place to stay with helpful staff and would recomend it as a place to stay at a reasonable price, we will be staying there again next year.

We couldnt be more happy with the hotel. Rooms were a little small, but with an exceptional view of the canal and located just steps away from Paizza Le Rome, where you can arrive on car or take the transportation through the channels,,,it was great...the hotel is nice and charming and you can move arounf Venice in a snap. If you want to walk, 25 minutes to Piazza San Marco,,,if not, plenty of transportation in fornt of the hotel Great Deal!!!!

We arrived in Venice late at night and could see the hotel sign lit up, from the bus stop it is only two minutes walk. Our room was at the front so there was quite a lot of noise from outside but not enough to prevent sleep. The room was clean, breakfast was very nice, staff very pleasant and helpful, and the veiw from our window was great!

Very beautiful room. We had a quad room right on the canal. It had carpeting and beautiful fabric on the wall. I looked into some double rooms and saw linoleom on the floor. The location can't be beat if you have a car. You drive over the bridge to venice, park the car and walk about 100 yards to the hotel. The major sites are very walkable. we had 2 kids with us 11 and 9 it was not a problem.

Good location if you're coming from the bus or train station with a load of luggage. Hotel is probably spacious by Venice three-star standard (I had a triple room). Staff were friendly if a little overworked, same with the air conditioner but to be expected for August. One important note - the map location on the venere site is incorrect, the hotel is not on the grand canal but a short walk down a side-canal across from the P. le Roma.

The Arlecchino is a small hotel near the train and bus station as well as waterbus stop so is handy to get to. The rooms are all typical venetian with fabric panels and ornate lights. The breakfast room is airy and light and the choice of food reasonable.
