The staff was not particularly helpful nor friendly. Be aware that some rooms are not in the main part of the hotel. I had to go through a maze of hallways, 2 different elevator banks, 2 card-keyed doors to get to my room--very confusing. Adequate breakfast. Located very near St Mark's square.

Location wise-couldn't have been better...2 minutes walk from San Marco Square and so of proximity... close to everything...but you pay for the privlige...the room costs are astronomical and I did feel that the cost of the room far exceeded the quality. But, that's the way it goes..if you don't like it go somewhere else..we didn't-we paid up !!

I was very impressed by the the helpful reception desk. They were prompt to lower the volume of the ambient music in the evening - I had two loudspeakers on the corridor wall opposite my room - and I cannot praise them enough for their willing attention. I was also very struck by the most convenient location of the hotel, and by the design and decor of my room: it was a pleasure to be in, and to come back to.

We were at Panada for one nite during Carnivale. The hotel was in a great location. The staff were very nice. I asked for an extra pillow for our room and it was there when we returned from dinner. I had a little problem with the room safe and someone came almost immediately after I called the desk to open it for me. There was some noise from the street during the night but it was of short duration. Room was clean, plenty of hot water in the bath and breakfast was typical Italian and very good.

I stayed in the new extension of the hotel, which is quite new and clean. The furniture is modern, and the bathrooms are clean. But the room was very small. And most importantly it was a maze to reach the room. I had to take two elevators, walk a distance, try to memorize the way to and from the room. There is no direct elevator to the room so I had to carry my bag on the stairs when I left. The new extionsion is clean and quiet though.

The hotel is very close to the main attractions in a little narrow street. Our room was on the top floor, the windows looked at the nearby rooftops. The elevator worked well. It was very nice to hear the bells ringing from the room. The rooms generally are available from 2 p.m. Unfortunately we were said to come back 1 hour later because our room was not ready. Our luggage was carried to the luggage room by the staff. It was convenient for us, we went to the San Marco to look around. The breakfast was very good and rich (tea, coffee, juice, toast, sausage, butter, cookie, etc.). You can pay cash or bankcard as well.

We were unable to travel to Venice as our daughter was diagnosed with strep throat while in Rome. The doctor told us not to go. We tried cancelling through Venere, but could not. We sent e-mails using panada@venere.com and info@hotelpanada.it to indicate we needed to cancel and request a refund, or at least a modest cancellation fee. We heard NOTHING, but got back to the States to find our Visa charged the FULL FEE! I would NOT recommend this hotel at ALL! Julie

This hotel was the second hotel on my vacation to Cortina venice then rome this was the most expensive room but was not the nicest. The staff would ignore me until I made a point to get there attention and then they were rude to me even on the phone like I was wasting their air. Hotel location though is fantastic easy walking distance to everything in Venice.

Hotel Antico Panada was an excellent choice. It's location right off of St. Mark's Square was very convenient. The rooms were very spacious and spotless. The gentleman at the front desk displayed an attitude toward us that was not welcoming. However, this was an excellent choice for our purposes and they included a lovely breakfast in the price.

The place is located in an excellent location near San Marco Basilica, but it could be full of tourists. I would rather stay in a quieter location, but others may feel different. I showed up at 11:40am (check-in time is 12noon) and I was told to come back in 20minutes and my room will be ready. My room was not ready until 1:30pm. The room was all the way in the back and was very small. The carpet was very old looking. I would not knowingly choose this hotel again.

The hotel is in a great location but be prepared for the noise. My wife and I loved that you are right down the street from the Spanish Steps but the noise from traffic was quite loud. It did not matter since we would come back so tired we would fall asleep right away. This hotel was a real gem. The staff provided excellent service. There was a bellman to take our luggage up to our room and also down on departing. Great directions were given by the front desk for touring around. The staff at breakfast was also very good. The breakfast was very nice as well. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Venice. The only drawback was it wasn't easy to find but the local Tourist Office gave us directions.

Disappointed no coffee/tea making facilities in rooms - no hot drinks available in hotel at all until 6.30pm and then prices for tea/coffee exhorbitant. No comfortable place to relax in hotel as bedrooms were too small and dark and small lounge in foyer unwelcoming. No room service. Menu for breakfast very limited.

Antico Panada was lovely. We were pleasantly surprised to find our room had a balcony (through a strange little window/door at the top of a wooden staircase). The main lobby with it's marble staircase was very nice, and the closeness to everything! perfect. The map makes SanMarco square seem a bit off, it's not! And there were plenty of good shops (not the tourist trap ones) and restaurants right out the door. There was always enough to eat from the complementary breakfast of deli meats, cheese, and breads. We had an all too short stay there. We would stay there again if it weren't for our wanting to try new places.

I couldn't have reserved a better hotel in Venice! Although the room was quite small (as expected), the service of the staff and nearness to all attractions & water-transit more than made up for it. The front staff were amazing, especially one older gentleman who had the most refreshing sense of humour and made my stay one of the best in Italy! I'd definitely return here!

Poor customer service, old hotel, does not seem fire safe. lots of old paths with not "real floors". Lost electricity one night, no wake up call, and once we paid for the room, the desk really didnt give a damn about helping us. breakfast was ok, but small, so come early if you want to eat, otherwise you have to wait. if you want to keep your bags at the hotel while you tour venice, they just keep them in the middle of the lobby with other guests bags.. this could be a hay-day for some dishonest guest. i would have rather had them behind a safe door. go find another hotel! chris, florida, usa

The hotel is unprepossessing from the outside although the reception staff were efficient. My friend who had arrived earlier was given an extremely small room with a view of three red water tanks and a walldirectly outside the window. My single room was better. However the next day on request they cheerfully found a much nicer single room which resolved that problem.Generally it was OK but a bit expensive. Breakfast was reasonable and the breakfast staff were very nice.

Our comments are based on the Superior standard room booked which was excellent. The room was not actually in the main hotel but a 2 minute walk round the corner. It was a very large room with sitting area, huge bed, a good bathroom and 4 large windows. In the morning we had a short walk back to the hotel for breakfast which was standard continental fayre.

Like just about every hootel in Italy, all you have to do to get a decent room is to keep refusing to accept the noisy, tiny dark ones they try to pass off on you untilthey break down and give you what you want. And don't ever believe them when they tell you there are no more rooms available.

We booked a superior room and were given what was effectively a suite - bedroom and sitting room (with sofa bed)separated by a curtain. Well worth the extra. Breakfasts disappointing - coffee and croissants not as good as they could be. In Venice context, though, excellent value for money in great location.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The hotel is only a few steps from St.Marks and so is in the centre of all the activity, near to everything as everywhere in Venice is easy and quick to walk to. The hotel itself was lovely. All the staff from reception to breakfast staff spoke good english. The hotel was clean and bright, with large rooms and bathrooms with 2 sinks! We took 2 rooms, one had a bath, the other a shower. Both had televisions, but only one of the TVs had 'English TV', CNN. The double beds were excellent, as it was 2 single matresses together, so very spacious and no sagging in the middle. They had double glazing to cut out noise from the street, only the restaurant shutters closing could be heard at night. The hotel provided a free water taxi to the Island of Murano, and tour around a glass factory. It is also a free ride back, unless you decide to explore the rest of the island and take a bus back. Though an iron is not provided, there is an extensive laundry service and ironing can be done within the hour by a member of staff for a small fee. There is a fridge in the room, but no coffee/tea making facilities, but there are many cafes around the hotel. Internet facilities are provided in the lobby. The main critisism would be that when we asked for a room with twin beds, we were given the same as in the double bed room but with the chair bed out. The chair bed was however very soft and comfy. Anyone going to Venice, I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was very charming. The bathroom was very big with a nice jacuzzi, quite a novelty in Europe. Our room had a terrace with a view which added to the charm. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful, spoke English very well. They have internet access in the lobby, which was convenient. We didn't have a difficult time finding the hotel at all, since this was our 5th trip to Venice. The location is just perfect! Just steps from San Marco. Our only concern was with my parents who stayed there with us in another room... the rooms have different levels with steps and the bathtub is rather high, which made it a bit difficult for Dad to get around. Other than that, would highly recommend this place!

Great location, one step off Pl. San Marco, in the middle of all attractions. Working lift, great breafast (cold cuts, bakery, excellent coffee). Our room was quiet, clean, and nice to come back after a hectic day. Air conditioning was very good. The only indication that it was not 4 star was no fridge in the room. We were very pleased with the Hotel Panada, and recommend it highly. The location is excellent, and the rooms are as advertised. They are somewhat small, but this is Venice, so we expected that. As Americans, the bathroom and air conditioning are very important, and they both functioned well. The Panada had the best shower of all the hotels we stayed out during a recent two week trip to Italy. Our three teenaged sons also enjoyed the hotel.

Although hard to find at first, Panada is in a GREAT location for seeing the sights in Venice. It's really close to St. Mark's Square and the Grand Canal. The bedroom and bath were beautiful. The hotel also had a nice bar and sitting area, where we enjoyed talking about Venice with other hotel guests. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was the best we had during our entire trip to Italy. The hotel is also close to the water bus stop. The location on the map was a bit deceptive. i either read it wrong or it is wrong. it looks like it's north of via cavour and that is why i selected this hotel. it was 4 blocks from there and not in a location i would have chosen. the people were very helpful and pleasant. you should probably indicate in your description of the hotel that during the summer months the air conditioning is off between noon and 3 p.m. so that people can plan their schedules around that.

I had a most enjoyable stay at the Hotel, the room was a little small, and the noise levels from the other guests on the same floor was quite high, however, the service was excellent, and the location in Venice is right in amongst restaurants and lots of shops close to the Square. I do beieve that the rate is high for the size of the room, especially as it was not peak season.
