Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was small but very nice. Price, like everything in Venice, seems too high but comparing it with comparably priced Venice hotels,it stacks up quite well. I would stay there again

Location was great - walk from Venezia SL Stn. Staff were very polite, helpful, and friendly. Room was somewhat small, but bathroom had ample room. Clean, pleasant atmosphere. Price seemed a little steep for the accomodation. Only shortcoming was mediocre Breakfast included.

Whilst the hotel staff were excellent and extremely courteous and helpful, the quality of map was not so good! We did have trouble finding the hotel and several local people we asked did not know where it was! The map needs to be clearer I feel. I cannot rate the hotel staff highly enough though - they were brilliant

Venice is expensive and in this context Antiche Figure is good value. Extremely friendly and helpful welcome even though we arrived at midnight. The proprietors are opening a new hotel nearby in a couple of months which will no doubt be equally worthy of patronage.

This was our fist visit to Venice- The desk clerk was VERY helpful- arranged prompt taxi service, corkscrew, etc. Was a short walk from Cruise ship terminal (12 minutes) but too us about 40 minutes to find the day before- just a bit too confusing - perhaps a written description also. Very enjoyable- wish we had more time to visit Venice. Would stay at Antiche Figure again !

We are mature age travellers on our first visit to Venice. The hotel was sourced on line, using position and comments. It was easy to find if the map was followed, even for Venice! On arrival we were offered a suite in the annexe at no extra cost - which was accepted. Help was given with carrying our bags up one floor and very useful advice was offered on what to see in Venice. It was a pleasure to deal with the hotel staff, who helped to make our visit most enjoyable.

The way we were welcomed and treated from start to finish was worthy of the best hotels anywhere. We opted to upgrade to canal-view rooms and it was well worth it. We went with some very good friends and they described our whole trip as 'magical' (the great weather helped, but still). The vaporetto stops very close by and is so convenient; you can walk easily with bags from Piazzale Roma (from airport bus). Don't think about staying anywhere else!!

Hotel in fab location. Near to bus park and very easy to follow signs back to the bus park if you get lost. Using the bus cheap from the airport 3 euros. Enjoyed stay very much, everybody tries to help and be friendly and offered alot of advice to help you get the best out of Venice. Would certainly return and would recommend the hotel. It would help if breakfast room was a little bit bigger

Hotel is just across the Grand Canal from the train station and you can walk to it in 3-4 minutes. Public areas are small but nice. The staff is warm and welcoming. Breakfast is very nice. We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment in the next building. It was beautifully appointed and included a kitchenette which we did not use but would be excellent for a longer stay. Beds were comfortable.

We arrived after a very long flight, it was rainy heavily, we were lost and the staff were excellent once we arrived. They even allowed us to go to our rooms and dry up and change before doing any registration paperwork. We very much appreciated that courtesy. We will always stay with you when in Venice! Thank you so very much.

Perfect hotel for a stay by grand canal. View is wonderful day and night. We had breakfast in the hotel then strolled the nearby streets taking in the sights and shops before check-out and making our way to the port for a cruise.

The staff were extremely helpful, the rooms have a real genuine charm to them and you really feel like you're in a special place, which of course Venice is. I would not and will not hesitate to return to the Antiche Figure, it's located well, has excellent staff and is probably only 3 star due to no restaurant and it was a notch above everywhere else we stayed.

Where can I start. The hotel is straight across from the St.Lucia train station and in front of the via Fero waterbus stop. It's within walking distance of everything. The staff was outstanding. Alessandro the day shift front desk, saw how many luggages my group (5) were carrying, and upgraded us to the suites that were located behind the main hotel (he figured we could use the extra space). The rooms were beautiful, spacious, very modern but charming. Everything was new. Silvio the bartender on nights prepared the best cappuccinos and lattes you could ever drink. Also the front desk gentleman on nights (I can't remember his name, but he's the one w/ glasses and a shaved head) was very pleasant and accomodating. He knew we were checking out @ 4am, and had a mini breakfast and cappuccinos waiting when we came down. The only draw back was the noise. The walls are thin and you could hear everything. However most if not all hotel rooms have the same problem (has to do with the method of construction in Venice...we were told). But the stay here is definately worth it. I'm definately coming back here again and I whole heartedly reccommend all to stay here.

Wonderful hotel in a non touristy part of Venice. Staff are helpful and friendly. We had a deluxe canal view room, although it seemed a little small, it had every amenity you could want. Although we enjoyed the view of the canal, due to the height of the windows, you could only enjoy it standing up. We found the room quite noisy at night when we had to open the window, because it was warm, and there is no air conditioning.

We traveled all through Italy and our stay at Antiche Figure was the highlight of our trip. The hotel directions were perfect and we found it right away after arriving from the airport via bus. From the moment we walked in the front door, the staff was outstanding. We cannot say enough about Alessandro, Francesca, Gianni, Monica and the rest of the staff who were so friendly and eager to help us with everything from restaurants to vaperetto schedules. They gave us the choice of three standard rooms that they had available. Our room and bathroom were a good size and furnished very nicely. The breakfast each morning was very good and they personally made our coffee just the way we liked it. The location is in Santa Croce, which we appreciated because it kept us away from the crowds and noise. The vaperetto station was very close and made it easy to get anywhere. We highly recommend this hotel and will certainly return again.

Great location, beautiful rooms and very helpful hotel staff. Especially with the front desk staff, they were always very helpful and had a great attention to detail and info on Venice. Marble bathrooms were spacious and new. The whole hotel was lovely and totally updated. Only drawback was that it was a little hard to find with the directions on the website. Once we contacted the hotel, they gave us full details and everything was fine.

This was our first time staying in Venice and the hotel provided excellent and extremely well located accommodation; on arrival we were offered an upgrade to a suite at a very reasonable supplement. The helpfulness of the staff was outstanding and enabled us to travel around Venice with confidence using public transport. The hotel is located less than a 5 minute walk from the main bus terminal; however visitors need to be aware that cases have to be carried over two bridges of steps unless you want to pay a fortune for a water taxi. The walking instructions to the hotel are not entirely clear on the website but we still found it with ease by following the Grande Canal. The hotel is in perfect position to enable travel throughout all parts of the city both walking and by public transport. If we were to return to Venice we would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to all.

This hotel is a must for train travellers. It is a 2-minute walk from the station, and it is great. The room and bathroom are both lovely. The staff speak excellent English, and are very helpful. (One helped us avoid the hassles of a train strike.) The literature we read didn't mention a/c, but it does have it. While expensive (as is everything in Venice) for a 3-star hotel, I would highly recommend it.

Beautiful Hotel!!!! We loved it. Keep in mind the "non view" rooms really have no view, but that said, it's a great place. Also, hauling your luggage in Venice is a major pain - thankfully this hotel is as close to the train station as you can get! Note there IS an elevator.

We are 2 seniors from Australia who just spent 4 weeks travelling by train through southern Germany, Austria, Slovenia and northern Italy. All of our accommodation was booked online, but our 3 night stay at Hotel Antiche Figure was the best. First of all the hotel was easy to find since it is located directly across the Grand Canal from the main train station. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and told our room was ready, but a newly-renovated suite nearby was offered for the same price. We opted for the beautifully decorated suite with a living area, kitchenette, large bedroom with canopy bed and complete bathroom with all mod-cons. Breakfast was served each morning in the main hotel. The manager and his staff spoke perfect English. Nearby restaurants, patronized by the locals, were recommended. Advice on the ferries and sightseeing hints were given. Even a water taxi ride and guided tour through one of the glass factories on Murano Island were arranged for us with 15 minutes notice. We could not have wished for a more pleasant stay.

Beautiful, quaint, boutique hotel facing the Grand Canal providing excellent service. This hotel is a 10-15 min. walk to Rialto Bridge and about 20-25 min. walk to St. Marks Square which means you can walk to the sights but LEAVE the crazy crowds for a more serene location. There are quaint restaurants and shops nearby. There is a lovely wide promenade in front of the hotel lining the Grand Canal for walking. Vaporetto stops in front of hotel and the train station is across the canal. Hotel is only 5 minute walk to Piazzalle Roma and perfect for pre or post cruise stay as the cruise ships are only a 5 min. taxi ride from P. Roma. You can definitely walk all of Venice but this hotel's location makes public transportation to/from the airport or train station a breeze. The rooms are gorgeous, like a fairy tale, with new marble bathrooms, a lovely breakfast room downstairs and superb service.

What more can we say about this hotel other than fantastic. We were a family of 3 (2 adults & 1 teenager) and the facilities were excellent. All the staff were very polite, helpful and courteous and there English excellent. Free internet access a bonus for daughter. Although located opposite the station facing the Grand Canal, you couldn't hear any trains at all. Good walk to the Rialto Bridge about 30mins. but with the excellent directions given and the map it was easy. Breakfast was good cereals, bread, meat and cheese, eggs, pastries, fresh fruit and yogurts. We chose this hotel because of it's location to Tronchetto Car Park, as we were at the end of a two week tour of Italy and had very large and heavy suitcases that we didn't want to drag further into the centre of Venice. Overall excellent hotel and would stay there again and would highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed at the Antiche Figure after we took a Cruise. The hotel is very well located, as we were ale to walk from the bus terminal (Piazzale Roma) to the hotel. In relation to the price it is fairly adequate considering how pricey these are in Venice. Very courteous and educated staff, willing to go out of their way to help. The only negative is the AC does not work to capacity as I experienced in many of the hotels I visited on this trip in Europe. But, overall will recommend this hotel to couples or families on vacation.

The staff at the Antiche Figure could not have been more welcoming. They were charming and very quick to suggest restaurants etc and provide maps. Their English was impeccable - a great help in view of our complete lack of Italian. Although the water taxis stopped at the nearby Ferrovia bridge, it was better to walk one stop back to the Piazzale Roma to board the taxi at the start of the Grand Canal. That way, you could secure a seat at the open front of the boat for the best views!

The Hotel Antiche Figure were excellent. My husband is disabled, and they actually sent out a staff member to help carry his scooter and our luggage over the two bridges we had to navigate. Also, very helpful with organizing transport to the Cruise terminal - they ordered a water taxi with a lift, so that the scooter could be taken to the terminal easily. They were very kind, and answered any questions we had re accessibility around Venice. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

If you have a early AM flight you may want to stay close to the airport. The train station is right across from this hotel, but you have to factor in at least an extra hour to get the 5:00 am bus. If you stay close to the airport, you can still spend a lot of time in Venice at night.

We stayed here one day before a cruise and two days afterward. The hotel was just perfect in terms of location. Close to the terminal where the airport bus and the cruise shuttle picked us up and dropped us off. Only two bridges to cross! It was also easy to walk to most of the Venice attractions or to catch the water bus. The hotel staff was outstanding -- extremely friendly, efficient and very helpful. Our room was a small suite in the newly refurbished annex with a bedroom and sofa bed. Ideal for three people. The only problem was the hand held shower. There was no place to hang hose and only a partial shower door, so the whole bathroom showered with us. I must say the water pressure was very, very good. We were assured this would be taken care of in the near future. While the hotel is somewhat off the beaten path, this was actually a positive. After the crowds around the busier areas, sitting outside along the Grand Canal with a glass of wine, watching the passing parades of boats and pedestrians was a very pleasant way to end the day. I would definitely stay here again.

It's a bit of a walk to St. Marks square, the Rialto Bridge and other tourist sites, but that also means your away from the crowds. The staff was warm, friendly and very accommodating. Breakfast was good and plentiful. As to room size just remember that European room sizes are always a smaller than American Hotels. That said by European standards the room was more than adequate in size. When returning to Venice we always stay at the Antiche Figure.

Since I was in Venice for only one day and night, I was most interested in convenience to the train and airport bus locations. The property was as advertised in its pictures, with a very helpful multi-lingual staff over two shifts. Curiously, the only beer stocked was the Mexican Corona. I had a canal view, which was both good and bad: good ambience, but noise from service-boat activity well into the night. Be aware that there is no AC, window screens nor fan, at least in my Single room, so I imagine mosquitos might feast during the summer months. Lack of screens seemed the norm at most hotels as I walked around getting lost. Otherwise, a nice experience.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much. It was everything we hoped it would be. The room was palatial and we particularly appreciated having sheets and blankets on the bed as neither of us like duvets! We were very near the waterbus stop and in easy walking distance of much we wanted to see. Staff were helpful and pleasant. We would certainly stay here again.

I loved this hotel! The rooms were perfect, clean and nicely decorated. We had the canal view room, which was not as noisy as some people said, and besides, your on the canal in Venice, who cares. The breakfast was nice and the service was excellent. I would definitely return to this hotel.

The breakfast room gets quickly crowded, it is a bit on the small side

As two weary New Yorkers on our first trip to Venice, my wife and I thought your hotel provided a most welcome respite from the riggors of travel. The people at the front desk are multi-lingual and were reassuring with their English and patient with our pathetic attempt at Italian. Our well appointed spotless room looked out on the Canal and provided a most pleasant backdrop for our viist here. The soft linens and plush towels provided the level of comfort we were seeking on this trip. Breakfast was a feast of a variety of fresh fruit, muffins, croissants and other assorted goodies served with coffee that made opening your eyes worth it. The professionals at the front desk were always helpful with maps, directions and a recommendation or two of restaurants and sights to see. Highly recommend this hotel for your next stay in Venice.

The hotel was very convenient to the train station and the boat stops. It had a very good breakfast and rooms slightly larger than those that we stayed in, in other Italian cities. The people at the desk were very friendly and open to answering questions.

We arrived at 11PM and were gone again by 8AM, so it's difficult to say much except that they didn't have Jack Daniels at the bar and the breakfast coffee drinks came out of an automatic machine instead of a real expresso machine (as they did in out inexpensive hotel in Florence!). Also, the location is both beautiful and ideal for those arriving in Venice on a late train.

The room was much, much nicer than expected. We had a top floor room looking directly onto the canal. Location of hotel was perfect for us, very close to and easy to get to the train station and bus to the airport.

Great room overlooking Grand Canal, excellent location for arrivals/departures and daily travel within Venice. Be careful of the restaurants recommended by the hotel: the Tre Gobi was a complete disaster.

Beautiful small hotel directly across Grand Canal from train station. Only drawback is carrying luggage over bridge from station. Very well appointed rooms and common areas. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh however the breakfast rooms were small. Staff were courteous, professional and helpful. Room was on the small side but beautifully appointed. Excellent value overall.

Antiche Figure is a family run hotel and so is very welcoming. Booking through venere.com we saved hundreds of Euros on the price. The only mis-match in a fantastic experience at the hotel was that the 'hot' breakfasts advertised were not hot. Still, when you sitting on the edge of the Grande Canale in Venice who cares?

Very good opportunity for stay up to 1 week near (just opposite) the railway station and the boat and bus lines. More spacious rooms than usually found in Venice in that price rate class.

The location on the Grand Canal was excellent, as well as being close to the train and bus. The room was great as well.

There was some construction ongoing outside the hotel which started at 6am, but that wasn't the fault of the management. We loved Venice and the hotel. Staff was extremely helpful throughtout our stay.

Lovely Hotel, ideal for bus access from the Ple de Roma (not to far to haul your bag). Unfortunatley they were repairing the bank of the canal directly outside the hotel but this did not inconvenience us at all (noise, dust etc..)It seems everywhere we go we come across scaffolding and building work , but hey it has to be done. Would stay there again, the hotel room was lovely and the bathroom gorgeous. (this was a grand canal view room)
