great hotel in a great location.very easy to find. breakfast room with a view over The Rialto Birdge. very friendly and helpfull hotel staff. For some tourists however could be one problem - the stairs: there is no lift, so you have to climb 3 storeys up.

The photos hardly do it justice. The enormously high staircase should be mentioned for those who must consider such things. The view of the Grand Canal is nothing less than awesome and can be enjoyed from the breakfast room if your room doesn't have the view. For 140 Euro (March 18) it's a superb bargain!

We stayed here over the weekend in November 2008, during our 5 week European vacation, and were quite disapointed. Our room was gloomy and shabby, and the staff disinterested and and unwelcoming. Fortunately we were only there 3 nights, and didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel, so this was no big deal. Of perhaps greater concern was that the hot water seemed to run out every evening, so those that like a bath or shower after a day's sightseeing might be well advised to look elsewhere. I'd also suggest avoiding the restaurant in front of the hotel, as their prices are far higher than their standards of food and service.

I was really excited to stay here but the room ended up being alot smaller then the picture on the site makes it seem. The bed was really old and uncomfortable. This was one of our most expensive hotels of our 6 week stay in europe and it was a big disappointment. We had booked for 8 nights and only stayed 5 nights

Antica Osteria Ruga Rialto just up the street (away from the Grand Canal) has friendly staff, local clientele and great cicheti. We liked the stuffed mussels and the fried sardines best.

The hotel is wonderfully located. It doesn't look great from the outside, but it is on the inside. The personnel is very friendly, breakfast good, rooms very nice and clean. At our arrival we were greeted with orange juice, which was nice, since it takes 69 stairs to get to the reception desk (no elevator - which is the only bad thing about the hotel). It was also really quiet in the area at night. Overall a great bargain!

We stayed just one night at this hotel. Without any luggage the stairs didn't bother us, but I can imagine it being a problem. We would gladly return, but maybe not at full-price. (We paid 90.)

El dormitorio limpio, el desayuno variado, la ubicacion excelente, nos entregaron el dormitorio en planta baja como solicitamos,la unica dificultad era un ruido que se escuchaba permanentemente que creemos que es el ascensor del hotel que esta al lado.

The twin room for my large teenage children was a bit small but the double for me and partner was fine. The choice of food at the breakfast buffet was good. We knew about the stairs from the website - no problem at all, even for a middle-aged Mum. The elevation of the hotel makes for better views - you can see the top of the campanile in Saint Mark's square from the dining room. We stayed for 5 nights and really enjoyed it. Definitely would go back.

We loved the hotel, however note there is only 2 rooms with the view on the Grand Canal. But you can see it from the Breakfast room. The place is quiet but if your room is located across the little kitchen it could be noicy in the morning before and during breakfast service.

The Hotel is just few feet from the Rialto Bridge in Venice so it's right in the middle of everything. The only down side is that you will need to climb approximately 70 steps to get to the reception area of the hotel and your room.

i would just like to say that althought this is a wonderful hotel in an absolutely expectional location PLEASE be aware that you must cross the rialto bridge with any luggage you bring with you. also there are 6 flights of marble stairs up to the rooms so if you have a big suitcase you must leave it downstarins in the storage as they have no lift. this is a very small hotel and not good for children as the walls are VERY VERY thin.

Situated in the perfect location, this is a top hotel, albeit a bit high up! After conquering the flights of stairs you're greeted by very friendly staff. The rooms are beautifully decorated, very clean, comfortable, and come with a minibar and complimentary tea/coffee/biscuits etc. Two of the rooms have a view over the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge, but the hotel's live webcam ensures other guests can enjoy the same view on their televisions. Highly recommended.

The room was large but the a/c had yet to be turned on...it was 80+ degrees. The stairs you must climb with luggage are immense. The rooms were very generous in size for Europe.

the room with a view on canale grande and Rialto as no noise isolation from the kitchen and the breakfast room... It is like trying to sleep in the middle of people having beakfast. Otherwise the view and the location are simply fabulousfabulous

Nice hotel with friendly staff. But, they really need an elevator. Hotel is on the 3rd Floor and all steps, a climb not for the faint hearted. This was our 2nd stay at this hotel. We'd love to come back for the third but, I don't think our calves could take it.

Location, location, location! Thats this hotels greatest asset 1 seconds walk from the Rialto Bridge. The web site on Venere is really done well capturing the quality of the hotel. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is superb. My wife and I stayed there for a week and the hotel was a great getaway from the hussle and bussle of the markets. No down points it is great value for money!! We are definately coming back!!

Neither website nor reservation mentioned that there were 4 tall flights of stairs to get into hotel. Staff was extremely resistant to helping get luggage up or down stairs. We had to pay them to get luggage into the room. Room was extremely small even by European standards.Hotel directions suggested taking the water taxi from the airport. However, no mention that we would have to carry our luggage over the Rialto Bridge if we did so.

We enjoyed the hotel immensely. It had an air of surprise, from the doorway on a small street off the Grand Canal, to the 70 steps up and the breakfast room looking out over the Grand Canal. The rooms are very red, very Venetian with new bathrooms. The staff were most friendly and helpful and the free internet service was great.

There are 70 stairs to negotiate to get up to this top floor hotel and no lift. Although it didn't bother me too much, elderly or infirm would have to give it a miss. I think this should be addressed in the description of this hotel. Apart from that, it is wonderfully situated, very central and good value for money.

This is in fact a very expensive but well located bed and breakfast. No elevator, no bar, no restaurant, no hall; just a 45 degree stairs that you have to climb to arrive to your very nice and luxury room located at the 3rd floor.

I travelled with my husband and my parents. I would not have booked the hotel, if I had known that you have to climb about 90 very high steps with all your luggage to get to the lobby, which for elder people is really exhausting. Anyway, apart from that and if you are sportive you will really enjoy the hotel and the location. Especially the service lady at breakfast is very charming! Thanks!

everything was excellent, but we had a room on same floor where reception is, early in the morning receptionist and people who started preparing breakfast and lady who started cleaning rooms talked so loud, floor clining device started working, it was so terribly noisy! i warned them to stop, but after a few minutes they continued talking and laughing loudly!

It was a nice little hotel in the middle of Venice. The room and the bathroom were large and comfortable. From breakfast room you have a nice view to Canale Grande. We enjoyed it!

Wonderful little hotel just a short stroll to the Rialto. Yes, there are many, many steps to even get to reception, but the view from the breakfast room every morning made it very worthwhile. Definitely recommend to everyone without a heart complaint...

Definately a room with a view in a great location on the Grand Canal. However the airconditioning did not work correctly during our stay and with windows open the noise and mosquitoes spoilt our stay. The hotel discription should mention the 70 stairs to be climbed every time a guest returns to the hotel.A porter to help with the bags would have been good.
