We chose the hotel because of its proximity to the train station. This was our 2nd time in Venice, we were traveling with a toddler and a big bag and we only had one night. We were looking for comfort and convenience. It was fairly close to the train, but when we arrived, a sign directed us a few doors down to another hotel where we checked in. The staff had ignored my request (in the reservation) for a baby bed. When I asked, they told me it would cost more and in any case they didn't have one. Most places supply a bed for free. I asked if I could have some extra blankets to make a mattress on the floor and the desk staff just went on about how the price I had reserved (100 Euros!) did not include the baby bed. We had to walk up 3 flights of stairs- not the convenience I was looking for! Luckily I found a sympathetic chambermaid who gave us an extra sheet so we could make a make-shift mattress. The hotel we stayed in was managed remotely via video cameras from the other hotel location - not very friendly. The room did come with a fancy jaccuzi-like shower contraption which I would have gladly traded for room to turn around. The room was very small. Being on the main street meant we kept the windows closed to keep out the noise. I would give this hotel even lower ratings if not for the very nice night clerk. He found me coughing on the lobby sofa at 4 AM and came over (from that other hotel where he sat) to check on me and make me tea. He helped ensure a smoothe check out that did not require too much back and forth between the two hotels. The breakfast was quite nice. Still, we were much happier at the Leonardo. Slightly farther away but a better bargain with bigger roooms and kinder owners. I would not recommend this hotel. I would try another hotel next time if I needed to be close to the train.

El hotel está muy bien ubicado, cerca de los principales sitios para visitar, muy cerca de la estación de tren y de la toma de las lanchas que nos acercan a los mejores lugares de Venecia. El hotel está muy bonito y totalmente renovado.

Very clean, comfortable, air conditioned. Convenient to train station and Alilaguna water bus stop. Easy walking to Cannaregio shopping and restaurants.

It was ideally located near the train station within walking distance. However, room was very small and breakfast was very limited. Check in is at another hotel nearby. I felt secure however, because access in is monitored by reception at nearby hotel.

Close to train center and Plasa Roma. Room was small and shower smaller, but everything worked and was clean. They even have free wired internet access. Breakfast was good with scrambled eggs, cereal, rolls, and fruit. Staff was delightful. It is not clear that you are to check in down the street at Hotel Zecchini about 40 feet past the hotel. Our window opened to the street, so it was not quiet until quite late and would be noisy if we had to leave it open in warm weather. All in all, a great stay.

Very clean, everything was very new. Good breakfast, no cost for leaving the luggage there. Not romantic, but very practical. Quiet at night, windows were very good.

I stayed in this hotel only 1 night coz i've been to venice just for work and it was good located (just 3 min to the train station) so if you're plannig to go to venice by train it would be a good choice

The hotel was really easy to find and only a few minutes walk from the Piazzale Roma. We flew into Treviso Airport and from there bought return tickets for the ATVO bus to Piazzale Roma. Once you arrive at Piazzale Roma you find its a large open air bus station and the only area with vehicles. To find the hotel head across the Piazzale towards the small parks and a Canal. When you reach the Canal, to your left you will see it leads onto the Grand Canal. Cross over the Canal and follow the path round to where it joins the Grand Canal. You will be able to see the steps up to Stazione Ferrovie (railway station) on the opposite bank. As you round the corner in front of you, you will see a large white marble bridge which crosses the Grand Canal. Cross the bridge and you find yourself on a bustling street right on the bank of the Grand Canal. Turn right and follow the street where it will become narrow with buildings on both sides. This is typical for a Venician street!. The hotel is on this street and your left, just look above the shop doors for their numbers. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and fluent in a number of languages. The room we had overlooked the street and was clean and comfortable. There was no problem with noise from the street at night. The breakfast options were simply continental, including cereal and you could also have scrambled eggs or omlette which were cooked practicaly in front of you! and all with coffee of course!. To explore Venice from the hotel area, simply head back to the marble bridge and past it and on your left you will see the ticket booth for the Vaporetto (water bus). The route map is similar in style to the London Tube maps and easy to understand. Its best to purchase at least a 48 hr pass as the Vaporetto are the best way to get to all the sights with out becoming lost in the maze of streets for hours on end!. We stayed for 3 nights and came home thinking we should have stayed longer. Enjoy!

you have to check in at another hotel 2 shops away as the reception area was closed. Because its right above a shopping street and some cafes, it tends to be noisy at night. Overall, the service is not too bad and the room are pretty spacious.

The staff was compitent, helpfull and fluent in English. I had emailed ahead for directions. We got the correct bus at the Airport to the end of the line (as far as vehicles can go) but then we got on the Vaparetto ((water bus) in the wrong direction. (since the instructions said to go only one stop to the train station, it was clear that we were not where Elisa (desk clerk)had described in the email. We quickly discovered the error and caught the Vaparetto in the oposite direction. The hotel location is so close to where the bus ends in Venece that it is an easy walk.(10 min. and 3 bridges) Without very clear directions though I wouldn't try it if it is your first visit to the city. If you arrive by train, you walk out of the station, take a left and walk 3 min. The hotel had been completely renovated in the last few years and was impecably clean. The hotel entrance is locked and run from a hotel loby 2 doors down. That is not clear when you arrive. Elisa suggested that we get a 3 day tourist pass for the Vaparetto which was perfect. For 25 euros we each had unlimited access for the 3 days. It would be worthwhile to get the pass immediately upon arrival. The breakfast was fine. The breakfast room is small so a few people were always waiting for seats. The bedroom and bathroom are also small, but as I said earlier, exceedingly clean and all you need if you are spending most of the day seeing the city. The TV worked as well as the A/C. It is an area where a few stores stay open late so you can get a can of beer or bottle of wine and some snacks before bed if you like. I would highly recommend the hotel and would stay there on a next visit unless I wanted to be in another special area of the city. It was extremely convenient, easy access to the Vaparetto, and a great value. Also, if it is your first visit, the location is easy to get to on public transportation, 20 min. by bus from the airport plus a 10 min walk or 3 min walk if you take the (5 min)

We were a little taken aback that we had to go to the Hotel Zecchini in order to book in etc., however the only drawback to our stay here was no elevator (we had four suitcases to haul up three flights) and the room was miniscule with very little closet space as well. There was absolutely no where to place suitcases except to stack them up and step over them as the floor space was so limited.

The room was small but nice and clean. The staff was OK, but the breakfast area was very crowded.

Knowing the rate for Venice hotels are high, so we aimed to manage staying at where close to the main station. Locationwise was excellent, as it is only few meters away from the station and very easy to find. However, the size of the room is very small, especially for single room. Staff were friendly, and the surrounding area was quite ok.

It was excellent situation as we had to travel by train and arrived quite late. The room is extremely small, however, it's proper and functional. I could see the problem to open the bagage if someone is travelling with big suitcase!
