Very good location, close to all attractions. Bathroom spacious however bedroom was extremely small, hardly able to walk up each side of the bed. Breakfast was delicious every morning and staff very helpful. Difficult to fit two bags in the room so one stayed in the bathroom.

Our room looked out onto an alleyway and wall, however as we did not spend much time in the room it was not a real issue for us. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Great selection at breakfast. Fantastic location for shopping and sight seeing within 5 minute walk to San Marco. I would be happy to return to this hotel.

The motel is ideally located to Piazza San Marco. Enjoyed being able to hear the gondoliers singing, laughing and joking. Was a little tricky to find initially. There are two San Marco vaporetto stops. When coming from Piazza Roma make sure you get a vaporetto stopping at San Marco Vallerosso - motel very close to this stop. Despite having to go to a neighbouring motel for breakfast, the service and food were both very good. Would return.

Second stay in Venice and first one in this hotel. We enjoyed this hotel very much. It is very well located (5 min walking distance from Piazza San Marco) and still very quiet as it is not on a main street. The room was very clean, the staff very friendly, free Wifi was provided and the breakfast was very good as well (you can order good italian coffee or cappuccino if you don't like the one being served in jars). Two small minor points: the room is quite small (but this is the norm in Venice); no freshly made juice at the breakfast (which was very good though). We would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel is a little gem. It is tucked away in a court yard, so there are no views, but it is so close to the Grand Canal and St Mark's Square, that this doesn't even register as a drawback. It is very close to its sister hotel and the great breakfast too. The rooms and bathrooms are very well appointed, the bedding good quality, and the room cleaning spot on. The only negatives I have is that we booked twin rooms and we were all in doubles, which wasn't ideal - and the towels are a bit hard and scratchy!

Venizia is an expensive city.. The price was a good value for the week days but increased a lot for week-ends days. Pretty room renovated, little fridge, heating pole for the towels, well located closed to San Marco and vaparetto. Closed to hotel Europa..pay attention to really know how to get to the hotel..buy a good Venizia map before leaving.. Very good breakfast

The room and ensuite were cramped. Bedroom air-conditioning was needed but not switched on (going on in June?) so we opened up the bedroom windows to be kept up until 3am with noisy passers by. Room walls and ceiling seemed wafer thin and all noises within and without hotel were easily heard. There were no reception staff at all at Anastasia and although we were never actually told this, we suppose that all queries were to be referred to the sister hotel next door, where the wonderful breakfast was each day(D'Oro). There were no general explanatory notes in the room ie how to work the safe, what channels were what on the TV. The hotel foyer had little or no tourist information and never anyone around to ask at reception. However, rooms were kept spotlessly clean and location just to the west of St Marks was ideal. The breakfasts and staff at Hotel D'Oro were extremely impressive

We loved our stay at Anastasia. It could not be better situated and is very comfortable. The only problem we had was finding the hotel, even arriving there in a water taxi coming from the airport, since indications are not many and streets in Venice are known to be a maze. Asking around for information did not work. If we had known Violino de Ouro was the place where reception is, it would have avoided us lots of trouble walking around pushing heavy luggage on crowded streets. But everything was soon forgotten and the only regret was not having booked for a whole week instead of 3 days.

Great location...only a 4 minute walk to San Marco Square and 5 minutes to the vaporette stop. This hotel is connected with a neighbouring hotel nearby so the desk is not manned most of the time, but this was not a problem as there was a buzzer at the main door and staff were there in seconds to assist you. They served an amazing full buffet breakfast (hot & cold) at the other hotel. Service was 5 star! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the heart of Venice.

First time at Anastasia with wife and two friends. This is the sister Hotel to another larger hotel next door, as such the desk is not manned most of the time only when arrivals are expected. This was not an issue prompt service could be recieved by picking up the phone to call adjacent reception, always friendly and helpful, lovely breakfast served in larger hotel again not a problem ten yard undercover walk door to door. clean and comfortable beds and rooms, nice en suite, all seemed recently refurbished. hotel position, the best, 3 streets from San Marco square, far enogh to be quiet, close enough to be right at the heart of Venice. Wonderful place to stay at the price charged, could find no better.

This is the first review i have ever written...The Anastasia Hotel is the best value for the dollar I have ever run into in Venice! I stayed in a double room on the third floor. They have a lift! It is located at the posh area of all the designer shops but tucked away behind it's sister hotel (Violino) so the street noise does not penetrate the rooms. The double bedroom was big enough containing a small desk, fridge, TV, and armoire. The bathroom was HUGE with gorgeous marble flooring with a very handy towel warmer. Getting a free wifi password was really easy for my 2 devices. Reception and buffet breakfast is at the sister hotel Violina and they are very prompt and professional! The buffet breakfast was from 7-11 and was the best i have ever had in all my travels! The walls are a little thin so there is a little bleed through from your neighbors but at night it is very quiet. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from San Marcos Square and a two minute walk from the Valarossa vaporetto stop! There is a phone in the room...one can buy an international phone card for 5 euros at the Tabbachi shop in St. Marks Square and call long distance for very little money! **One thing to know about shopping in Venice tax free vat return...! all the shops "encourage" shopping by stating the airport customs office who must stamp your docs is open at 5 am! They are NOT open at 5 am hence if you have an early flight which I did i could not get my docs stamped, hence no vat refund PLUS THEY ARE GONNA DING MY CREDIT CARD ANOTHER 10 euros FOR NOT COMPLETING THE PROCESS for each transaction!!! (you must give a credit card when receiving cash back to guarantee you will complete the process that is impossible to complete!!)! I think they open at 8 am but am not posotive. Restaurants are way overpriced. The gem i frequented was Rossopomodoro one block off St. Marks Square...no cover fee. I suggest ONLY getting the pizza's plus they have a lot of great bottles of wine for under 20 euros. The oth

This was our 1st visit to Venice, and we loved the hotel because of its proximity to Piazza San Marco, the very helpful staff, the atmosphere and charm of being so near the Gondoliers at San Voise Bridge, and the recommendation to eat dinner at the Trattoria la Scala, with clear map provided by the hotel staff! (We ate there twice, ask for Salvatore!).It's a very short walk from the Vaparetto Callaresso Stop, but you need to know that the Anastasia is behind the VioliniD'Oro Hotel, and that's where you will have the excellent breakfast. If in doubt, ask the Gondoliers!! Their English is very good!! We only saw the Doge's Palace, Murano and Burano, so MUST return for more!! We had left a cruise ship, so stored our 2 heavy cases at the Marco Polo Airport, which made our bus/vaparetto journey much easier. It costs 6 euros per 24 hours, well worth it!!

We stayed here 2 nights and found the room to be adequate for our needs. Our room was TINY. The bed almost covered wall-to-wall, leaving only the space in front of the door and between the bed and the bathroom for our suitcases. The bathroom was of adequate size and was nice by any standards (though the shower stall was compact enough that my 6'1'' husband had to open the door to soap up as there was no other way to avoid the spray of the water). The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was good with many options. Given that we were only in our room to sleep at night the size was tolerable. We would stay here again.

Our room was VERY small, reminding us of a cruise ship cabin. I'm told this is typical for Venice, though. There was never any staff at the hotel desk except at breakfast time. It appeared that it was an annex hotel for a larger hotel around the corner. GREAT LOCATION though! I'd stay there again just for that. Near San Marco square and the water bus drop off which is extremely helpful when you're bringing your luggage to and from the hotel.

This was a surprise trip for my partner and my best friends son and it was brilliant! Luca was an excellent member of staff and very helpful. We stayed 3 nights in Venice on holiday with my daughter. The position of the hotel was OK. Its near St Marks Square and we never lost our way. Its easy to trace your directions as it very near the top Coutourier shops eg, Prada, Gucci etc. Also very near the Vaporetto stops. The biggest problem with the hotel was that there was no supervision of staff. The Manager and main reception staff are at a neighbouring hotel so we had to go there with any requests. I feel they should have someone on reception at least.

Room was new, clean and cute as could be.But it was so small we had to climb over our luggage, we move the chair to the hall way to get the door to close. The shower was so small with a removable head when I turned the water on the head came off and sprayed all over the bathroom. While showering my body hit the rod and shower head fell and hit me on my head.We call the hotel before we left to make sure they had AC, only to find out they don't turn it on till June. I use a C-Pap machine so I asked about conversion plugs which they said they had however when I got there they said they were all out to other customers.Made no effort to get one for me. I was there for such a short time (2 nights) it's not fair to make comments about service. The room however I would have classed as a single room with a double bed squeezed into it, we could not walk adjacent to the bed. The ensuite shower room (no bath) was fitted to a good spec but the shower unit was cramped, even though there was plenty of room to fit a much bigger shower. the room was opposite the lift and we could here the bell of the lift each time it reached level 2 I would however return to the property and ask for a different room if staying longer than 2 nights

We asked before - sending email - for a spacious room, as we were at the end of a 38 tour to Europe, but it doesn,t seem to interfere with the hospitality of the hotel. Unfortunately, our room was really small; I think it should be forbidden to allow such rooms to exist! We know that Venice is a city not spacious, but anyhow, I notice that there are another hotels who may offer a confort to their guests! We hardly could put our luggage inside the room! The bathroom had less than 50 cm in width and we could bath ourselfes with little moviments, otherwise we would hit the wall! The room service, otherwise, was ok. The room was cleaned everydays, they change towels and the air conditioning and tv all operated normally. We were accomodated on the 3rd floor, without any view, but the noise from the outdoor disturbed at night. It seemed the other guests did enter the area as though there were not more people on the surrounding area. The hotel does not have a restaurant and the breakfast was served in another hotel in front. The service of the breakfast was ok, although. The internet was paid, but we could access it ok.

The Hotel was nice and clean. The staff very helpfull and well educated. The room wasn't too spacious but it was comfortable enough for me and my wife(only 2 Suitcases) also very clean that is a plus. Breakfast was one of the best i had in Italy and we have stayed in 4 other hotels during our trip. Location is great only 5 min walking to Piazza San Marco, to the vaporetto stop and right outside the hotel a gondola service ride.If I will be back to Venice I will stay here again, no doubt.

The location is perfect for people wanting to be near St Marc's square. Staff were very friendly and this hotel is very good value considering its location. Note that there is a construction site next to the hotel, but my room was to the side so I was not disturbed. Any of the rooms looking out to the square the hotel is on may get noisy in the morning, check with the hotel.

When I arrive, the door was closed, no indication. I was looking around when somebedy araised and called me. The room was a single bed, with an even shrinker matelas! The breakfast was horrible, nothing of quality. €90 for that is still too expensive, even close to the St Marc place. A view on desastrous walls from the room window! A so small TV, with a bad command (one wa only)

Great location, we booked two rooms, one was a good size (particularly considering it was venice) other one was tiny, requested a chair get removed (as had no room for luggage) but it never happened but it was Italy. Staff were very helpful and spoken excellent english. location was reasonably easy to find and they organise an awesome water taxi trip to the airport (bit expensive but worth it for the james bond factor!!)

The relationship between price and quality is excellent. The hotel is in the centre, two minutes from Marcus Place. It is ideal for a trip to venice. Only the facilities to store your clothes was rather small, else the hotel is really to recommend.

Perfect quaint clean reasonably priced little hotel 4 minutes away from St. Marks square, San Marco Giardinetti Vaporetto Bus Station. Very close to the pier, elegant brand name shopping stores, & the crowds, but still tucked away in a quiet square away from hoards of walking tourists. We realized at the end of our stay that there is a quicker way to get to the hotel after you cross the bridge from the San Moise Church side. After crossing the bridge, look left and see Hotel Violino D'Oro. There is a large open archway to the left of this hotel's entrance doors. It is probably a minute faster to Hotel Anastasia if you walk through this archway, get to the end of it, and turn right, then the next left, then the next right, and voila Hotel Anastasia is immediately beside you on your right handside. If you don't go through the archway, you end up walking down the street to the right of Hotel Violino D'Oro and winding around a few more buildings before getting to the hotel. We had a nice small courtyard view, we stayed in Room 102. If we peaked our head out the window to the left, we could see between 2 buildings a small canal about 25ft away. Great complimentary strong flavorful coffee and perfect light breakfast at the hotel.

Third trip to Venice and best part of hotel is the location close walking to San Marco vaporetto stop and square, designer shopping, and gonodola station right at your door. Room was small, pillows flat and bathroom extremely small. Couldn't check in until 1:30pm.

We would return! 100%! Would recommend Hotel Anastasia because of its EXCELLENT location and quitness of the rooms. We could eventually hear some "gondolieri" singing from our room (while the window was open). The receptionist in charge of our check in was not very kind, but then we had great experiences with two incredible employees (cannot remember their names but one of them was from Senegal and the other one was studying chinese). Great job you guys! Breakfast exceeded our expectations! well done! Bathrooms were recently recycled. Please bear in mind that the hotel is VERY DIFFICULT to find for the first time. "Driving" directions should be more clear on the web and perhaps a close up map would also help. After you arrive, is very easy to move around Venice. Incredible experience.

This is a terrific hotel close to San Marco plaza so after a day of sight seeing you can go back to your room and change for going out for dinner. Our room looked exactly like the pictures and there was a quiet little plaza outside our window. The staff was very friendly and even let us into our room when we got there at 10 am well before the 1 pm check in. In the breakfast room they bring you a small pitcher of steaming coffee and a small pitcher of foaming milk for a delicious cappuccino. The breakfast also has cornetto and yogurt but no fruit. The only challenge is finding the hotel. We could not locate vaporetto 82 at all and think they discontinued it. We used the #2 line to San Marco plaza. Here is how to find the hotel: get off the vaporetto at the San Marco or San Zaccaria stop and walk to San Marco plaza. Look for the large hanging sign for the Correr Museum (will be on the opposite side of the Basilica). Leave the plaza via the passage next to the museum. Walk straight until the passage comes to an end, turn right and walk about a block and you will come to a bridge. Cross the bridge, turn to your left and you will see a stone arch. Pass under the arch and see the sign for Hotel Lisbona. Turn right walk a couple steps and look up. You will see a sign for Anastasia pointing to a passage going left. Turn left and walk one block which comes to a small plaza. There will be a sign for Hotel Europa. Turn right and the hotel is right in the plaza next to Europa. This is a delightful hotel and I would highly recommend it. The hotel takes credit cards. It would be difficult for families with young children to navigate around Venice however due to the numerous bridges and steps- would also be very challenging (if not impossible) for handicapped people in wheelchairs. Also- get a good map before going because Venice is a very confusing place to visit. I also recommend Rick Steve's book on Venice and his tips on how to see the most and how to av

The "gondolieres" were shouting and singing during the day but in the night, it was very quiet. So we had a good sleep. Rooms are small, but there won't be anything for this price in Venice, what will be bigger. Cleanliness of bathroom superb.

We enjoy the hotel, staff, location, and the information provided for activities in Venice. The location is so complicated that it would be impossible to point it on the map. But some directions that I found on another website http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g187870-d285090-Reviews-Anastasia_Hotel-Venice_Veneto.html were perfect. All in all - a very pleasant experience. Thank you for providing the service for this, and for the other two hotels in Florence and in Milan.

The hotel is located very close to San Marco's square 2 mins walk from San Marco veporetta water bus stop we had room 202 overlooking a small quiet square we also had a view of one of the many canals. The hotel room was small but very clean with all the usual stuff Hair dryer,tv, mini bar etc. The continental breakfast was fine. The hotel is located in an up market part of town great for shopping plenty of designer clothes / shoe ( expensive )shops. Check in was a breeze with friendly english speaking staff, there was no problems either when we checked out early (06:00 am )The hoel was great value at €190 for 2 adults for 2 nights bed and breakfast, I would recommenend this hotel to anyone

We were here for our first anniversary and wanted a quiet, comfortable room in a decent hotel (for a decent price) and weren't disappointed! The double room was small, but there was plenty of space for two people. The bathroom was gorgeous, bed was comfortable (even though it was just 2 single matresses) and the location was superb (right next to Piazza San Marco, a must see)! I would stay here again and would recommend it to others.

Hotel was very clean and very convenient. Staff were courteous & competent. There was a little street noise in the early evening, but at night it was very quiet. Appointments were comfortable, although room was on the smallish size. It was perfectly adequate for our stay, however. If we go again, we will probably stay in one of the other districts where prices are lower, but for our first stay in Venice, it was a good choice.

The elevator only goes to the 3rd floor, but there are 2 rooms on the 4th floor. We had to carry a great deal of luggage to the 4th floor- not ideal. room was very cozy with many windows that opened out to a beautiful piazza, and made the stair climb worth the effort. Breakfast was lousy- standard continental, but very low budget. Front desk attendants were good, but not fabulous. the location is prime, just around the corner from Prada, Gucci and all of the great shopping- very near San Marco. There is a fabulous coffee shop around the corner behind the big bookstore- the most amazing fresh squeezed orange juice, cappuccinos and mind-blowing chocolate croissants (brioche). Look for the busy Italians stopping in for coffee in the morning!
