The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Good breakfast, cannot beat the location, literally 2 minutes from San Marco square.

When I arrive, the door was closed, no indication. I was looking around when somebedy araised and called me. The room was a single bed, with an even shrinker matelas! The breakfast was horrible, nothing of quality. €90 for that is still too expensive, even close to the St Marc place. A view on desastrous walls from the room window! A so small TV, with a bad command (one wa only)

Great location, we booked two rooms, one was a good size (particularly considering it was venice) other one was tiny, requested a chair get removed (as had no room for luggage) but it never happened but it was Italy. Staff were very helpful and spoken excellent english. location was reasonably easy to find and they organise an awesome water taxi trip to the airport (bit expensive but worth it for the james bond factor!!)

The relationship between price and quality is excellent. The hotel is in the centre, two minutes from Marcus Place. It is ideal for a trip to venice. Only the facilities to store your clothes was rather small, else the hotel is really to recommend.

Perfect quaint clean reasonably priced little hotel 4 minutes away from St. Marks square, San Marco Giardinetti Vaporetto Bus Station. Very close to the pier, elegant brand name shopping stores, & the crowds, but still tucked away in a quiet square away from hoards of walking tourists. We realized at the end of our stay that there is a quicker way to get to the hotel after you cross the bridge from the San Moise Church side. After crossing the bridge, look left and see Hotel Violino D'Oro. There is a large open archway to the left of this hotel's entrance doors. It is probably a minute faster to Hotel Anastasia if you walk through this archway, get to the end of it, and turn right, then the next left, then the next right, and voila Hotel Anastasia is immediately beside you on your right handside. If you don't go through the archway, you end up walking down the street to the right of Hotel Violino D'Oro and winding around a few more buildings before getting to the hotel. We had a nice small courtyard view, we stayed in Room 102. If we peaked our head out the window to the left, we could see between 2 buildings a small canal about 25ft away. Great complimentary strong flavorful coffee and perfect light breakfast at the hotel.

Third trip to Venice and best part of hotel is the location close walking to San Marco vaporetto stop and square, designer shopping, and gonodola station right at your door. Room was small, pillows flat and bathroom extremely small. Couldn't check in until 1:30pm.

We would return! 100%! Would recommend Hotel Anastasia because of its EXCELLENT location and quitness of the rooms. We could eventually hear some "gondolieri" singing from our room (while the window was open). The receptionist in charge of our check in was not very kind, but then we had great experiences with two incredible employees (cannot remember their names but one of them was from Senegal and the other one was studying chinese). Great job you guys! Breakfast exceeded our expectations! well done! Bathrooms were recently recycled. Please bear in mind that the hotel is VERY DIFFICULT to find for the first time. "Driving" directions should be more clear on the web and perhaps a close up map would also help. After you arrive, is very easy to move around Venice. Incredible experience.

This is a terrific hotel close to San Marco plaza so after a day of sight seeing you can go back to your room and change for going out for dinner. Our room looked exactly like the pictures and there was a quiet little plaza outside our window. The staff was very friendly and even let us into our room when we got there at 10 am well before the 1 pm check in. In the breakfast room they bring you a small pitcher of steaming coffee and a small pitcher of foaming milk for a delicious cappuccino. The breakfast also has cornetto and yogurt but no fruit. The only challenge is finding the hotel. We could not locate vaporetto 82 at all and think they discontinued it. We used the #2 line to San Marco plaza. Here is how to find the hotel: get off the vaporetto at the San Marco or San Zaccaria stop and walk to San Marco plaza. Look for the large hanging sign for the Correr Museum (will be on the opposite side of the Basilica). Leave the plaza via the passage next to the museum. Walk straight until the passage comes to an end, turn right and walk about a block and you will come to a bridge. Cross the bridge, turn to your left and you will see a stone arch. Pass under the arch and see the sign for Hotel Lisbona. Turn right walk a couple steps and look up. You will see a sign for Anastasia pointing to a passage going left. Turn left and walk one block which comes to a small plaza. There will be a sign for Hotel Europa. Turn right and the hotel is right in the plaza next to Europa. This is a delightful hotel and I would highly recommend it. The hotel takes credit cards. It would be difficult for families with young children to navigate around Venice however due to the numerous bridges and steps- would also be very challenging (if not impossible) for handicapped people in wheelchairs. Also- get a good map before going because Venice is a very confusing place to visit. I also recommend Rick Steve's book on Venice and his tips on how to see the most and how to av

The "gondolieres" were shouting and singing during the day but in the night, it was very quiet. So we had a good sleep. Rooms are small, but there won't be anything for this price in Venice, what will be bigger. Cleanliness of bathroom superb.

We enjoy the hotel, staff, location, and the information provided for activities in Venice. The location is so complicated that it would be impossible to point it on the map. But some directions that I found on another website http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g187870-d285090-Reviews-Anastasia_Hotel-Venice_Veneto.html were perfect. All in all - a very pleasant experience. Thank you for providing the service for this, and for the other two hotels in Florence and in Milan.

The hotel is located very close to San Marco's square 2 mins walk from San Marco veporetta water bus stop we had room 202 overlooking a small quiet square we also had a view of one of the many canals. The hotel room was small but very clean with all the usual stuff Hair dryer,tv, mini bar etc. The continental breakfast was fine. The hotel is located in an up market part of town great for shopping plenty of designer clothes / shoe ( expensive )shops. Check in was a breeze with friendly english speaking staff, there was no problems either when we checked out early (06:00 am )The hoel was great value at €190 for 2 adults for 2 nights bed and breakfast, I would recommenend this hotel to anyone

We were here for our first anniversary and wanted a quiet, comfortable room in a decent hotel (for a decent price) and weren't disappointed! The double room was small, but there was plenty of space for two people. The bathroom was gorgeous, bed was comfortable (even though it was just 2 single matresses) and the location was superb (right next to Piazza San Marco, a must see)! I would stay here again and would recommend it to others.

Hotel was very clean and very convenient. Staff were courteous & competent. There was a little street noise in the early evening, but at night it was very quiet. Appointments were comfortable, although room was on the smallish size. It was perfectly adequate for our stay, however. If we go again, we will probably stay in one of the other districts where prices are lower, but for our first stay in Venice, it was a good choice.

The elevator only goes to the 3rd floor, but there are 2 rooms on the 4th floor. We had to carry a great deal of luggage to the 4th floor- not ideal. room was very cozy with many windows that opened out to a beautiful piazza, and made the stair climb worth the effort. Breakfast was lousy- standard continental, but very low budget. Front desk attendants were good, but not fabulous. the location is prime, just around the corner from Prada, Gucci and all of the great shopping- very near San Marco. There is a fabulous coffee shop around the corner behind the big bookstore- the most amazing fresh squeezed orange juice, cappuccinos and mind-blowing chocolate croissants (brioche). Look for the busy Italians stopping in for coffee in the morning!

Great place in the center of town. No internet and no solutions for those who do need internet. Expect to spend half a day dealing with this on your own if you don't already have experience with Italian paid internet.

Staff friendly but unable to recommend a single reasonable late night café to get a restaurant. Staff next door at the Westin Europa were able to recommend three, one in each price category.

Breakfast not very healthy (nothing fresh) but tasty enough.

While Venice is a wonderful place to see, it is a horrible place to stay. You could do much, much worse than the Hotel Anastasia. If you can get a good rate on your (very small) room, I would recommend it. The bathrooms are excellent and the hotel is in good repair.

The location is very good, close to Piazza San Marco. The bathroom has good space. The only problem is how to get there. From the airport, you have to take the bus number 5 to Piazza Roma and get down in the final stop (about 15 minutes), where you can take a Vaporetto 1 or 2. It takes aroun 40 minutes until Vanizzielo stop. Once there, you have to walk about 200 m, but We recommend you call hotel to ask about directions.

Hôtel à quelques pas de la place St Marc. Décoration soignée, propreté parfaite, très bon accueil. Au 1er étage, les chambres près de l'escalier ne sont pas protégées du bruit lié à la préparation du petit déjeuner.

My husband and I stayed in Venice at the end of July 2008 after the cruise. The location of the hotel was very good because of the proximity to St Mark's square. The room was small, but nice, clean, and quet. It was overlooking a small quart yard, which both of us liked. We picked this hotel due to its location and the price. We will recommend it for a short 1-2 night stay.

We were very pleased with the Anastasia and found it to be a good bargain. It is centrally located, very clean and quiet, and the breakfast was excellent. On the negative side, the room was small and we sometimes banged our legs on the bed when moving around the room. Guests with mobility problems might find it hard to move luggage over the steps necessary to reach the hotel. It is also not easy to find for first time visitors to Venice.

for the first time in my life i was forbidden by the receptionist to have my friend over to my room, not even for 5 minutes. when i explained i wanted to give her something in the privacy of my room he still denied it firmly. when i asked why wasn't it possible at 19:00 the only respond i got from him repeatedly was that "it is not possible!". i asked to speak to the manager regarding the incident, it is needles to say that didn't happen till my departure. breakfast was served in the entrance of the hotel, not even secluded from the reception, and the variety was poor. as breakfast was served until 10:00, at 9:59 the staff began clearing the poor buffet, evevnthough hotel guests were still sitting for breakfast. due to the impolite behavior of the receptionist and his rudeness, i do not recommend staying in the hotel.

I had a highly enjoyable stay at the Hotel Anastasia. The staff were welcoming, the location could not have been better and I was very pleased with my room. My only criticisms are that the breakfast, while there was plenty of it, was not that fantastic and that my bed was hard. Nevertheless, the staff were extremely helpful, my room was well appointed and I definitely feel that I got value for money. The location really is unbeatable and contrary to what others have said on this site, I found it extremely easy to find the hotel (following the instructions found on their website). I will most certainly be coming back.

The rooms are small but nicely furnished. The bathroom is very attractive. The breakfast could do with some attention. We do not eat cooked food and the selection of cereals was poor. excellent little hotel. The breakfast room is small, and there isn't really a lobby area to sit in, but I wouldn't even talk about it except for the questionnaire... Wonderful location, great staff, pretty, clean room (mine was next to the elevator, so the noise-level depended on the type of guests coming or going)... definitely worth repeating.

Usually I hesitate to write a review, but not in this case. The Anastasia far surpassed my expectations, and was the nicest hotel experience I have had on my 4 trips to Venice over the last two years. The staff is terrific, and their English is much better than my Italian, which helped quite a bit. I stayed in room 105, which was neat as a pin and had a huge bathroom by Italian standards. The gals that take care of you for breakfast are very nice and make sure you are well cared for. I truly hope that room 105 is available each time I return to La Serenissima in the future. Thanks, Anastasia, you were terrific! Please tell the girls they make a killer cappuccino!

The rooms are small but well appointed and the staff is ever helpful. The breakfast is OK, nothing fancy.

The hotel is located close to St Marco square, the only plus point. Price too high for an old hotel room, 50% higher than what I paid in other parts of Italy. But then, this IS Venice. Everything is expensive. No shower cubicle. The shower head over the long bath is only hand held and imagine showering with only one hand free. Breakfast is of poor choice and served in a very small area. No internet connections, not as advertised. But the staff are helpful and not rude. If I ever return to Venice, I will look elsewher for better value.

Glad we had researched directions from other guests! but location was brilliant, 5 mins with case from water bus stop, hotel located in quiet square but 3 mins from St Marks Square. Hotel was clean, staff very helpful, breakfast basic - cereal, bread/croisant/jam but adequate. Rooms on small side, shower etc cleaned daily. Not a luxury hotel, but for a medium priced hotel very close to St Mark's Square this hotel is good value for money

The concierge recommended a lovely restaurant called Alla Madonna near the Rialto bridge that was wonderful. We also enjoyed the breakfasts at the hotel. This hotel is a good value in Venice. The rooms are comparable to what you'd get on a cruise ship, but they're functional and have all the amenities one would need for a stay in Venice. The location is hard to beat. It's easy to find, very close to all the major attractions, but most importantly it's tucked away in a small square so that when you're in the hotel you don't feel to be in tourist central.

We were very happy with Hotel Anastasia. The location was absolutely outstanding - we shared a courtyard with a 5 Star Westin and were in the same location as another reknown 5 star hotel. The staff was excellent and really made our stay very pleasant. They were very professional, friendly and helpful. Daily breakfast was great - lots to choose from. It was a nice touch that the staff helped my husband put together a tray for me one morning when I was unable to go downstairs in time. Be warned, that the hotel is not easy to find. A more detailed location map would have been helpful or more specifics on how to locate the courtyard Anastasia is located in(ie cross the bridge beside Hotel Bauer at the Church of S.Moise and on the other side turn left immediately and you'll see a sign at the end of the walkway for the hote). Very important since Venice is very tricky to get around, especially with your luggage. Our biggest surprise/disappointment was that the room was much smaller than we expected. If you are not comfortable with a room that is only a few feet wider than the bed itself and a bathroom that only has approx 1 foot between the wall and fixtures (sink, toilet) this is not the place for you. If, however, you are willing to trade off room size for location then you'll be quite happy.

Excellent choice for our stay in Venice. Very comfortable hotel, great location, clean and quiet. Newly remodeled. Great breakfast too. Only problem was a lack of shower curtain or glass to prevent the whole bathroom from getting wet. The staff was very helpful and recommended great restaurants. Pros: excellent staff, even very helpfull when i was sick one night, great location, courtesy, good breakfast, clean and large bathroom. Cons: to be honest, rooms are little too noisy and room is a little too small respect to bathroom (very large). Breakfast could be little improved with more things to eat, but is very good indeed. Main problem (and only that upset me a little) was the noise. Overall i could say it's a 8,5/10.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel. It is very centrally located and close to everything. We stayed two nights at the beginning of our trip at another hotel and one night at the end at Hotel Anastastia and wished we had stayed at Anastasia all along. The bed was soft and comfortable and the room was modern and better than at our other hotel. We didn't have a chance to stay and enjoy breakfast, so I can't comment on that. Very difficult to find - it was our first visit to Venice andthe system of numbering buildings is very confusing. Get a street name and directions from the hotel. We had to phone twice for directions before we finally found a local who knew the place. Location is excellent for the tourist, only a few minutes from St Mark's, the vaporetti, and easy walking to Rialto etc. Breakfast good for Italy

The hotel was great. The location is fantastic, the room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast was great. The problem was to find the hotel. Don’t come without a very good map of the place. Me and my sister were completely lost and nobody that we asked for information knew the hotel. But after we find the hotel we didn’t have any problem. I definitely would stay in this hotel again.

This was my first visit to Venice and if I return I would definitely consider staying at the Anastasia. The staff were very courteous and helpful, the room was comfortable and as a single traveller I felt completely safe. I would highly recommend both this hotel and the venere service

Venice is very difficult to navigate without your luggage. It would have helped tremendously to have a better map and directions to the hotel. We finnaly stopped at the information office and had the woman there look it up on the internet. The hotel was wonderful once we found it, very quiet and secluded. The room was exacly like the picture. I have already recommended family members stay at Hotel Anastasia and have sent them the card with the map on the back!

The hotel was very tough to find from the Fusina stop. No one we spoke to even in Italian knew where it was. We finally happened up it. Its very close to the San Marco taxi stop Valpresso--too close in some ways. Great hotel once we got there...Very helpful and knowledgable staff...Great place...Near things yet also close enough so you can walk and get away from tourists. Highly recommended...

Hôtel très bien situé pour la visite de Venise. Un plan devrait être édité pour trouver l'hôtel depuis la station de Vaporetto de la place San Marco, assez difficile à trouver avec les infos fournies!

Venezia is very expensive, but this hotel was great. A little hide, but great ubication, near to San Marcos. The room is quite small, but sufficient, and the bathroom spectacular.

We were very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Our room was lovely, exceptionally clean, with a balcony overlooking the courtyard. We could hear the gondoliers' as they navigated up and down the canal - which was just a 'stone's throw' from San Marco Square. All the people at reception were such a help, especially Simon, and the breakfast was light and energizing - a welcome change from our huge breakfasts at home! We will definately visit again!

My parent's room was rather warm and although this was reported we were advised the heating had been turned off. Heat however was still coming out of the heater. Generally, we enjoyed our stay and have recommended the Hotel to colleagues.

Great location, less than 5 minutes from Piazza San Marco. Easy to get to from the airport - get the waterbus to San Marco and follow the instructions others have put on site, otherwise not easy to find. Rooms are a little cramped, but there's so much to do you probably won't spend much time there. Bathroom was great with a good shower. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. If this is in your price range, I would recommend staying here.

Very good service, they were all helpful and attentive. Clean. Unbeatable location just off San Marco and in a quiet little campo. Rooms a little small. I'll go back any other time I visit Venice.

I stayed at this hotel with my father. It is very well located between 2 vaporetto stops (#1 and #82) and very near P.San Marco. The hotel is not directly on a canal and has no particular view besides an inner courtyard (which meant there was little 'street noise'). However, at the back side of the building is a large and active gondola station, which added much atmosphere and photo opportunities. Our twin room was small, but very clean and the WC/washroom was large and included a large window, a bidet and a bathtub. It was as I expected for Euro 80 per night in early March. The staff were very helpful and warm. Breakfast was simple, but adequate and included a choice of hot beverages. I will recommend this hotel in the future to friends and family on a modest travel budget.

Excellent position and staff. Rooms a tad small. Water pressure leaves a little to be desired but is acceptable if you can accept a leisurely shower. Breakfast fine given that this is Venice.
