Spacious and silent room. Cupboard without door....The receptionist said it's absolutely normal!..... Breakfast is like a breakfast on an motorway area!! Chemical orange juice, slot machine for coffee... I know it's a 3 stars hotel but those details are not worthy of 3 stars. It's not very difficult to press oranges or make coffee in Venezia.... So i can say that breakfast is neither good nor copious. Nothing is fresh. Everything is chemical. Positive point : the perfect situation and silent night.

We had a 3 days stay at this very good hotel. For us (my wife and me) the 3 person room was o.k. For 3 persons I think there is not so much space. The staff was very freindly and everything was clean. No elevator, but this was no problem. We travelled there by train. With the describtion on the hotels website it was very easy to find it. The next stay at Venice we will go there again

We stayed for 1 night in this Hotel. We choose the cheapest room and therefore didn't had much space in the room, but is was ok for 1 night. Bathroom realy clean! A bit tight though. No lift. We stayed on the 3th floor (highest) and had to drag our luggage up the stairs. Pretty exhausting. Overall feeling is good. Friendly personel. Wifi for 3 euro/hr in the lobby only. Breakfast was nice. Croussaints, fresh bread, cheese etc.

Room was incredibly, ridiculously small, and we had to lug our suitcases up 4 flights. We (and other clients) joked that they probably took the elevator shaft out to make another set of rooms. The furniture in the room included a small desk that was useless because one of the legs was broken and a chair that also was wobbly and just got in the way. However the room was clean and in good condition, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Location was excellent, about 7 minute walk from San Marco square, and 7 minutes from Grand Hotel. Instructions for how to get to the hotel were misleading because it says to get off at the Rialto vaporetto stop and walk 100 feet along the canal then turn, etc. But there are TWO Rialto vaporetto stops on the same side -- we were dropped off at the second one which was beyond the 100 feet walk. Therefore we got lost. No problem, we found the place, but a simple explanation or map on the website would help a lot.

The breakfast was very poor and very bad quality. The room and the breakfast was very noisy. No lift! The tv has only 4 channels and bad located in the room. The room was also very old and look dirty. The relationship between price (that was quite expensive) and quality was not correct. Very BAD STAY in this hotel and we won't come back on your website to reserve the next stay.

I din´t like that. They could kindly inform you, but they don´t, that you should drop the vaporeto in Lido stop, not at San Marco. Because it sais that the hotel is close to San Marco, it is actually, but if you drop the boat at San Marco, you´ll have to carry luggages up and down many stairs untill you get the hotel. And when you arrive, they will tell you that you are in the third floor, no elevators, and all that with a sarcastic smile on the face.

Although, the hotel was comparable to other Venetian hotels in this area of Venice, (we stayed at others) it was very tight and not as comfortable as a similarly priced hotel in USA. Once understood, I would stay here again. It was close to Piazza S. Marco and full of character. Staff was very helpful.

We found the hotel very convenient. Perfect location, everything is within walking distance. The only (small) problem ve've had was the room. We stayed in double bedroom: it was perfectly clean, very quiet, but it was very small, not too much space to move to bed! The staff was very helpful and fulfilled all our wishes.

We were two couples and they booked us into adjacent rooms, which was convenient. Air conditioning was VERY welcome after traipsing around Venice. A bit surprised that it had 3 star rating,no lift.Good location between St Mark's and Rialto. Newly decorated though rooms a bit "heavy",not that it matters too much.Typically small Venetian hotel. Probably the best breakfast we've ever had out of quite a few stays in Italian hotels, with the bonus that the dining room looks staight onto canal and you can watch gondolas gliding by. TIP:make sure you have a street map as soon as you hit Venice,it's not that big but it's a real maze.

After carrying our baggage to the Hotel Alcyone to book check-in, we were informed our reservations had been switched to their sister hotel, the Belle Arti. The reason given for the change was that our room had problems with the water faucet and that they had emailed us of the change. Unfortunately we were already in Europe and had not checked our home emails therefore had to walk an additional 10 minutes in carrying our luggage in the crowded, hot streets. The staff at the Belle Arti were helpful and understood our concerns. Therefore the review we have provided is for the Belle Arti. We did return to the Hotel Aclyone the following day to check if they had any rooms available but were informed they were over booked and had nothing. I asked if they had any plumbing problems and was told not that she knew of, that the hotel had been recently renovated. Having read other reviews I believe what the Hotel Alcyone is doing is only taking confirmed reservations for the rooms, which our more expensive to book. If they fill up with these they then bump the non-guaranteed travellers to their sister hotel. If I had wanted to book somewhere else I would have in the first place. We were very tried from travelling when we check in and the additional stress of finding the other hotel made for a very unpleasant time.

After much research on location, prices, recent renovations, etc., we booked the Alcyone Hotel for 5 nights at the end of April. The day before we were to arrive, we were informed that there had been some water pipe problems and our room was not available. They had rebooked us into their sister hotel, the Hotel BelArte, which was 50 euro a night more but our rate was the same as at the Alcyone. The Hotel BelArte was a very nice property and we were even given one of the larger rooms in the hotel. The location was not as central as the Alcyone but Venice is not very big so walking was not a problem. We did appreciate being informed of the change ahead of time, rather than when we arrived at the hotel. So while we know nothing of the actual Alcyone Hotel property, we feel they looked after us well and we would definately recommend the Hotel BelArte.

We were apprehensive about the price versus location and cleanliness. We were so amazed at the beautiful accommodations and location. What a pleasant surprise!! The check-in and checkout were horrendous but I think in all fairness the hotel had newly opened and the personnel were unfamiliar with the procedure. The breakfast was excellent! The staff was pleasant but inexperienced...no help to first time visitors. The surrounding area and restaurants were excellent. It was so close to everything and so charming. The only drawback was the two Chinese operated restaurants on the same street. We had our credit card info stolen and over $1400.USD charged to our account for Asia Travel agency....we are fairly certain it was one of those two establishments. We met others checking in who could have used concierge service for help. We have aactually recommended this hotel to all of our friends. There is more positive than negative about it. Overall, we loved our stay!!!
