The hotel is very easy to find and easily accessible from the Vaporettos. We stayed in a separate building, right next door to the main hotel, which I was hesitant about at first, but once we saw our room we were very pleased. The room was very large, clean, and quiet. Breakfast was a delicious, typical Italian breakfast with the sweetest lady serving the tables. Front desk staff was very kind as well. I would love to stay here again and will recommend to anyone traveling to Venice.

What a nice place. They upgraded us due to it being our honeymoon. The staff were so friendly and gave great tips about sights around the area. The room was lovely with tapestry on the walls, feels like a venetian palace. The breakfast was a bit dissaponting, everything was delicious, but there were no cold meats, only cereals and pastries. But still an excellent stay.

Great place! Very nice inside and out, and it's location near the Vaporetto station is great for convenience, but also helpful when you get lost since you can just follow signs for the vaporetto and make it back to the hotel. We had to change our reservations at the last minute and they were totally accommodating. The front staff had great restaurant suggestions and helped us with all of our questions. The bed was a little hard (but I think I am just used to American hotel beds) - when I mentioned it they put an extra layer over the mattress and that helped. My wife and I would definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to return to Venice.

Parking directions could be slightly clearer. There are two parking areas and if you choose to park in the second (Tronchetto); the directions to the hotel are not so clear. I would suggest parking in the first recommended area (Piazzale Roma)and following directions from there, very direct. Our only regret while staying at the hotel was that our stay was not long enough! We look forward to returning.

Staff very nice & helpful. Bathroom very hot, was very nice considering this icy February ;-) Breakfast good with fresh pastries (bread not so bad but always not so good for french people !) Rooms well arranged & very good bed (somehow a bit hard mattress). Our room (number 7) suffers only from some bathroom water noise of the room just upper. But as it was only at early morning it was not so disturbing.

Management was extremely helpful. All questions were answered promptly. If the answer was not immediately known, they would look it up while you stood in front of them. Property is a little off the beaten path but that means you get to see more than Rialto Bridge and Piazza San Marco. Easy vaporetto stop. Excellent!!

We were in Venice for 2 nights and we loved it. I have heard of bad places in Venice so was a little nervous but as we stepped into the hotel I knew we had no worries. All the staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful, they told us of some fantastic restaurants and places to see. The room was amazingly clean and very comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. I loved the location of the hotel too, as it meant we could easily walk everywhere and we got to see lots on the way (more than if you stayed in San Marco)...I thought we were going to be really far away from the main parts but Venice is so small that you are not far at all. I wished we could have stayed longer and am telling everyone to stay at this hotel. Also, other reviews have mentioned the noise if you are in the room behind reception....we had that room and didn't experience any noise at all. Beautiful hotel to stay in that made our trip...thank you very much

We found this hotel to be just as described and would highly recommend to others. When we booked there was an error and we were upgraded to a superior room for the first night. We had a problem with the heating on the first night, which we could not find the reason for, though in hindsight we could have asked for a heater or on booking I could have paid a bit more for the junior suite which sounded grand (my mistake). The hotel is in a very handy location with easy access to the number 1 tragetto. It has spotless, well decorated rooms. We were advised of some very good places to eat at night. Which we both enjoyed. The thoughtful and helpful staff made this a very enjoyable stay. We both enjoyed the great breakfast the hotel provided (thanked them for their great breakfast (in my broken italian). I wanted to treat my wife to a special mini gita in Venice. Dont think I quite nailed it, but my hope is she enjoyed it anyway. Note to self get the junior suite next time if you can afford it.

We came to Venice for our honeymoon, and we were very happy to have ended up finding this hotel. We were very impressed how helpful the staff were, they also picked out some great restaurants based on what we were looking for -great job Sandro! The lady working in the morning (Grace) was a real joy to get to know, we looked forward to seeing her in the morning. The hotel is very quiet, and is tucked away from all the crazy tourism, but still very accessible. We found we could enjoy what Venice had to offer from a more relaxing point of view. Thank you Sandro and Walter!

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights with our 6 month old baby. They even prepared a cot for our baby. The service was excellent and the room was clean. We stayed in the superior double room in the annex building and it was spacious. The bathroom was very clean. Breakfast consisted of pastries, cereals and juices. The cappuchino was very good. We like the quiet location and 4 stops from the train station. It's about 15 minute boat ride to St. Mark's Square or you can walk, but it'll take you about 25 minutes. If you're thinking about bringing a stroller, don't. We brought one, but never used it. We used the Ergo carrier the whole time. Our baby slept in it most of the time. We would certainly stay there again!

We paid 120 Euros for one night in this 2-star-hotel. But staying in a hotel in Venice is allways pretty expensive. And for us this is more than a 2-star-hotel. I guess it is rated 2-star because the rooms are very small. But apart of this rooms are very nice decorated, modern television, bathroom very clean and modern, staff very friendly. We missed a window with nice view. After all we would go there again - but too many tourist in Venice..

Due to a registration problem (through Venere), we had to change rooms. Both rooms we were given were excellent. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend the small restauraunt right around the corner. Unfortunately, Carnival is no longer accompanied by the abundance of Music as it has in years past, and the few balls are extravagently expensive.

Great value for money. Very friendly and professional staff (all of them, from front of house to breakfast ladies), large and clean room, very clean bathrooms (but poor quality + choice of toiletries and very useless and user unfriendly hairdryers - do not forget to take your own!), good breakfast (although breakfast room is a little small and dark - breakfast on the patio in nice weather must be lovely). Location is good in quiet, residential area, but a 5-10 mins walk from the Rialto Bridge. Overall, very pleased with our stay and we would happily book there again.

We stayed in Venice for 4 nights and our stay at this hotel was wonderful and memorable. The staff were helpful and friendly, the room small but clean and cosy. The breakfast is buffet style, but plentiful and the hot chocolate is to die for....a meal in itself! The position of the hotel in the city could not be better being in a quiet residential area, but only 10 mins walk to the Rialto Bridge and 20 to St Marks Square (quicker if you are not distracted by the wonderful shop windows!). The nearest Vaporetto stop is a few yards from the hotel on Line 1- the most useful for accessing the popular areas. There are some excellent value places to eat 10mins walk from the hotel. We especially liked Birraria la Corte (San Polo 2168) in Campo San Polo and Osteria Al Ponte la Patatina (Ponte San Polo 2741). Both offer good value meals in a city that can be very overpriced. For even better value, visit Osteria Bea Vita on Fondamenta delle Cappucino (Cannaregio 3082). Ask for the locals set menu. Real Venetian food, no frills! This makes an excellent lunch stop when visiting the Ghetto area. As you can tell, we loved Venice and we loved the Al Ponte Mocenigo. We would definately recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet base in Venice.

This place is a gem. The rooms are beautiful, the setting and food for the breakfasts perfect. The whole place is just so picturesque. You really feel that you are in Venice of old (the house was built in the 16th century) but with its updating a few years ago has all the modern acroutements. Walter (and several others on his staff) was so helpful - went out of his way to do things for us. It's about a 15 minute walk to the Rialto bridge and less than ten minutes more to St. Marks. That's fine. When you come back in the evening you are in the quiet section of town full of great restaurants. We loved it and couldn't recommend it more. Fantastic value for money.

This was a wonderful hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was brilliant it's served in their small courtyard (weather permitting). If you have seen all the sights in Venice, visit the island of Burano. It's a 40min ferry ride but well worth it. It's a pretty little fishing village the streets and canals are lined with bright, pastel-coloured houses. Go see for yourself. P.S This hotel deserves 4* not 2* it's a gem.

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. It was easily the nicest hotel we stayed in during our 11-day tour of Italy and the price we paid is just ridiculously low. It's 50 feet from the grand canal, and the entire place has been completely remodeled and is brand new with all amenities. The ceilings are a good 18 feet high with beams running across them. The bathtubs are massive. The people who work here are just genuinely nice. It's about 100 feet from the insanity of Venice--just far enough to make sure it's quiet when it's time for bed. Is this hotel really rated two stars? That's insane. This is easily a four-star hotel compared to the rest of italy, and it was the only time I was there when I felt like I was staying in a "nice" hotel. Book without question--even those of you who are hotel snobs. You won't be disappointed and you'll have some cash to offset the god awful exchange rate of the US dollar.

We stayed at Al Ponte Mocegnio for 3 nights recently and found it (once we found it!) excellent. This is a 4 star place under a 2 star banner. The rooms were comfortable and spacious enough for our family of 4 and collection of bags and the hosts very welcoming and friendly. We had a family room (the red one with the chimney on the website)(1xdouble, 2xsofa fold-outs) which didn't overlook the canal, but rather the property across the street; which happened to be only shoulder-width away, but the room had large windows for ventilation (with curtains) and tiny chimney windows for cross-ventilation and was fine. The breakfasts in the courtyard were lovely as well. What made the stay particularly good however was the way that it is a small hotel and the owners, who were there every day, went out of their way to be helpful and were more than happy to chat about the heritage and architecture of Venice (our special interest) for ages. They also gave us lots of dinner suggestions which were accurate in their description and covered a range of palates and pockets. One day we went out to the Lido island to look around and were surprised when we heard a 'hello there!'. Turning around, there was one of the owners, leading to another interesting conversation about the differences between the different parts of Venice. Our only difficulty was finding the entrance of the hotel when we had all the bags. We caught the public ferry) which was easy, if crowded, but we saw no signage to find the path to the hotel and we went the long way which involved going up and over several bridges, before finding out that there is a direct and level access if you walk down the right hand side of the lane beside the church and then turn left down the afore-mentioned tiny alley. They have just updated their website, and it now includes a better description of how to find the hotel. All in all a truly memorable stay made even better by this hotel. We'll return for

WOW!! I almost don't know were to start! This is a superb hotel! Newly renovated, it took them a year and a half to renovate this ten room hotel and it really shows. The thought and detail that they have put in to it is almost impossible to miss. Rooms were super clean & QUIET, service was top notch and it all comes with a gigantic smile. We instantly felt like we were thrown in to a mystical Venetian world here. Only a 10 minute walk from the train station, if you have a lot of luggage I may recommend taking the "boat bus" to eliminate having to haul all your luggage up and down the bridges. Be sure to study an accurate map before arriving. for a rating, 10.5 out of a 10. Don't even hesitate about booking.

Yhis is really a 4 star hotel in stead of the 2 shown. Price Quality is extremely well. Newly renovated hotel (2005) with maintained old structure of the building. Very high Ceilings in the rooms (> 4 meters). Take the Canal Grande boat line 1 , it will bring you as close as 100 meters from the hotel. Very kind well Engklisch speaking owner. Situated next to a small, charming canal. Fine Breakfast in the room or in the garden. We spent one night in our honeymoon in this hotel and it was better and more charming compared to another 5 star hotel we visited the day before. Absolutely go for it !

It was a great place to stay, our family enjoyed the three days we were there. Staff were very helpful and friendly, and eating out in ht esunny court yard fun....we did however wonder what would happen if it rained th einterior dining space seemed limited but this is not a critism...we would definately stay again.

I was more that pleasantly surprised at the comfort level of the room as well as the hospitality of Walter et al. The breakfast was more than enough and the surroundings in the patio delightful. I would definitely return to Al Ponte Mocenigo again.

The little hotel is beautifully restored, with a romantic "patio" for breakfast and more than excellently situated in a small lane quite a few sreps away from the next boat stop. We had quite a pleasant stay there and will come again.

This hotel is a wonderful 'home base' while exploring Venice! It is in a quiet, non-touristy section of the town, easily accessible by the vaporettos - directions were perfect! Our group especially enjoyed the delicious breakfast served by the cheerful staff, and the beautifully appointed rooms.

Excellent welcoming, very nice and spacious room (it was the one photographed on the web site, the largest maybe), breakfast (continental) in the little courtyard. The hotel is very close to a vaporetto stop. Our room was looking on the courtyard, so no large view, but nice. Quite expensive, even if the breakfast was included, and that there was no extracharge for our daughter 7 year old, but it is Venezzia !
