If there was a number above ten Mateus and Al Ponte Antico would surely receive it from us. This place is above reproach in every possible way. We will surely return one day and recommend Al Ponte Antico highly to our family, friends, and anyone looking for the most perfect of places to stay and experience the beautiful city of Venice. All staff were friendly, helpful in every way, quick to give help when asked,the rooms spotless, large and very much like you'd think of a Palace in Venice. The breakfast in the morning and lovely Spritz in the afternoon or evening on their terrace right overlooking the Grand Canal is an experience not to be missed.

This is an incredible hotel experience. Well worth the expense. The location is superb, the staff extremely friendly and accomodating, and the rooms comfortable and elegant.

We could not have been made to feel more welcome by Mateo (the owner) and his friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the restaurants that they recommended and booked for us were all excellent. The location of the hotel overlooking the Grand Canal provides a marvellous setting for breakfast and evening drinks. Unquestionably, we would return.

We absolutely loved Hotel Al Ponte Antico and would highly recommend it to anyone. Matteo and his staff were warm, friendly, welcoming and professional. Our room was beautiful and surprisingly spacious. It was big even by American standards. The public areas, for the delicious breakfast in the morning and for drinks in the evening, were lovely and comfortable. The location right on the Grand Canal is unbeatable. We spent hours on the terrace enjoying the late afternoon sun and watching the world go by on the Grand Canal. The hotel is within easy walking distance of most major sites in Venice. We walked everywhere from the hotel and never got on a boat, even though the vaporetto station is right near by. Hotel Al Ponte Antico has old-world charm with first-world comforts. Don't miss it!

Amazing trip to Venice, excellent advise from the Hotel's staff (especially for the restaurants). Delicious breakfast despite no fresh fruit drinks. The view from our room and the hotel's bar is unique. Great location.

Breakfast could be better. The location is excelent, with a view to the Rialto Bridge, near the comercial zone and near S. Marcos.

Built in the 16 th century , Al Ponte Antico Hotel is a nice old Venetian Palace with only 9 rooms , and 4 of them ( suite ) have beautiful view on the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge . Friendly Staff . A bit expensive , but once in a life ....

Stayed one night in March, 2006. Location was great, and that's what you pay for. The view from the breakfast balcony was excellent, but the view from the room was a brick wall. The rooms were richly decorated, though the furniture was looking a bit worn and scuffed around the edges. The whirpool bath was a nice luxury, even if it was a little underpowered. Breakfast was strictly continental (cold cuts, cereal, bread), but the cappuccino was fresh and hot.

We English like to be able to make tea during a rest break in the day; the room was at the back and consequently dark; the hotel was down an easily missed ally so difficult to find in the first instance - directions or a map are needed.

i was suprised to find the room had no natural daylight as the windows faced directly onto a wall, but the air conditioning was excellent. the furnishings were particularly nice and the bathroom was luxurious. very pleasant helpful staff. fabulous view of the Rialto and grand canal from the terrace. extras on bill seemed expensive and not itemized.

The hotel has a good location in the centre, but for the first it is hard to find. Anyway, we had an excellent honeymoon, the hotel is really nice with the atmosphere of the hundreds of years, well combined with the modern facilities.

We really enjoyed our stay at Al Ponte Antico. The location is fabulous, rooms are very comfortable (the one we had I would consider spacious by European standards), and friendly staff. Breakfast is nice, with a wonderful view from the breakfast terrace on the canal. The only oddity I found was that there was no curtain or door on the bathtub/shower, making it difficult to keep the water from spilling out all over the bathroom! I found out, though, based on the remainder of our trip to other parts of Italy that this is somewhat common. We would definitely stay again given the opportunity to visit Venice again in the future.

We have only 1 comments. The chairs on the breakfast porch were very uncomfortable. Otherwise this was a fantastic hotel.

The truly wonderful hotel!I recommend this hotel with confidence.The hotel staff recognized me before I said a name. The breakfast which eats at the terrace which faced the CANAL GRANDE is the excellent. The bathtub with the Jacuzzi was very comfortable. I was satisfactory but that the checkout time was 11 o'clock was different from the information in the site.
