The hotel was quite comfortable hidden in a courtyard near San Marco Piazza. Easy to get to from vaporetto on grand canal, but somewhat hidden. Need good map. Breakfast was good.

The hotel provided excellent service and facilities. The only problem we encountered was when we tried to book a porter with the hotel to take our luggage to the Rialto Alilaguna stop so that we could leave for the airport. He failed to show up at the agreed upon time, but fortunately, the hotel porter took us and we arrived just in time to board. We observed the other porter right there loading a large amount of luggage into a water taxi.

Wondeful location, only 5 minutes from Piazza San Marco e Ponte di Rialto. A lot of food at Breakfast. Room a little small but really clean. They charged me 2 Euro for some ice (not nice).

Wonderful! Great location in the heart of Venice easily walkable to all locations. Room quite and private. Able to open windows and get the fresh morning Venice air. Air conditioning works well. Breakfast buffet good with various cold cuts, breads, fruits, coffee. Hotel staff helpful and directed us to great Vivaldi Concerto concert. Will definitely stay again next time am in Venice.

We did not have any room reserved when we arrived in Venice and but had searched out a few places on Venere.com. The original place we picked was booked and they recommended the Al Codega which was just around the corner. The price was excellent. Location was perfect - just a couple minutes walk to both Piazza San Marco and the Rialto bridge. The hotel is all new and sparkling inside. The rooms are large for European standard. The room we had faced the courtyard and was so nice and quiet - only heard church bells in distance - so nice. There really are no views from the hotel rooms of this hotel but makes up for with how quiet it is. Beds comfortable, bathroom big and always super clean, breakfast fantastic, service at the hotel excellent. You do have to pay for wireless internet access but you do everywhere in Italy. Internet was quite reasonable at 6 euros for a 24 hour period. We decided to stay an extra night and they gladly extended our great Venere rate. Would definitely recommend this hotel and we would stay here again. Definitely a 4 star. Thanks Al Codega for a lovely stay. We have used Venere.com all the time when travelling Europe. It is by far the best hotel website for choice, price and not having to prepay.

We found the hotel without too much trouble. Nice central location. Quiet courtyard was a nice change from the crowded streets and squares. The rooms were very clean. Good breakfast with plenty of variety.

Lovely hotel and very nice people running it. My room was street-side rather than on the courtyard, so it was noisy. There was also, every night, some sort of noise from above -- a machine of some sort? It was very annoying and made it difficult to sleep. Otherwise it was lovely and well situated. Breakfast was lacking. The woman who hosted the desk daytime was especially helpful.

This hotel was in a great location between the Rialto and St. Marco. Only there for one night would love to have stayed longer. As had to leave to catch the train before breakfast would have appreciated room service for breakfast or a kettle in our room.

A delightful hotel which I and my wife thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Pretty good value for money especially considering that enice is such an expensive place in term of hotel accommodation. I would definitely recommend this to all my friends visting Venice in the near future.

Not easy to find on first visit. Follow Calle del Fuseri south from Campo san Luca. Take second left (opposite Timberland) and next left, narrow, low passage under building, leading into courtyard. Excellent location relative to Rialto Bridge and Piazza San Marco

It is a beautiful hotel, yet the room was quite small. The location was hard to find, but once we figured it out, we realized that the hotel is in a very good section of Venice.

We enjoyed the Al Codega very much, with one exception - the mosquitos (in mid-April). We would have rated it higher if they had screened windows. The room was sort of small but beautifully decorated (except for the squashed mosquitos on the walls and ceiling.) Please, please Venice - screen your hotel windows!!

An amzing hotel in an amazing city. I did have a hard time finding the hotel which is in a hidden courtyard, but it was part of the charm of the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Al Codega met our needs in Venice well. The room was spotless and the hotel refurbished to a very high standard. Breakfast was a quality continental buffet and staff were all very helpful and knowlegable. Location is ideal being quietly placed between Rialto and Piazza San Marco.

We cannot say enough good things about this newly renovated hotel. Our room consisted of a good sized sitting room w/TV as well as a bedroom w/TV. High ceilings with crown molding, hardwood floors with Oriental rugs and nicely decorated. The windows opened and the air conditioner worked perfectly. The bathroom served our needs (even included a towel warmer). Staff was outstanding.

We spent a weekend here. Directions to the hotel were misleading. Instruction was to get off waterbus at Rialto stop and cross over the bridge - this would take you in the completely opposite direction from the hotel. Better directions would be from Piazza San Marco. It is very easy to find from there. The hotel itself is of a very high standard and the reception was very cordial. The American lady on reception, who I think is one of the owners, was exceptionally helpful. The standard of the rooms was excellent although our particular room was smaller than that shown on the website. As we were out most of the time we did not use the communal area of the hotel except at breakfast. Breakfast was very good, offering a good variety of items as a buffet. There being no restuarant on the premises you have to go out to one of the myriad of restaurants available in the district for dinner, not a problem. Overall, considering Venice prices for 4-star accommodation, this hotel was good value for money and we had no complaints at all. We arrived some hours before check-in time and did not have to go to the airport for several hours after check-out time and we were able to leave our luggage at both times, which gave us the maximum time to explore the wonderful city at our ease.

Wonderful experience and a great location. However, extremely difficult to find when you first come from overseas. Simple directions to hotel from Rialto bridge would greatly help.

Very nice clean modernized hotel in an old building. Very satisfactory EXCEPT that it is very hard to find. It is in an unusual closed courtyard with a disguised entry. You can walk near it for a long time and not realize it. Be sure to get very good directions before going. Good access to San Marco and Rialto. Fairly close to Academia. Nice central location.

Beautiful room, efficient, friendly and helpful staff, quiet, nice breakfast offered, good location--once I found it. Although I like the idea of it being harder to find, it won't get so overrun that it loses it's charm.

It is a very nice hotel - very close to Rialto bridge and St. Mark square. Room was nicely decorated and very modern. Room was spacious too. Breakfast was decent - not great but OK. They also provided free wifi and internet access from a computer in lobby for 2 euros (upto 4 hrs). They are on second floor and have an elevator.

Although the property was nearly impossible to find, it was so worth it! Great location and probably the best hotel we stayed in while in Italy. The staff was helpful and the new hotel was spotless. The coffee and breakfast was excellent and I can't say enough about the facilities. We would certainly love to return to Venice and the Al Codega.
