We checked in during morning time but kept luggages to collect in the evening to catch our flight. We asked the staff for restroom/toilet and his response was to go to nearby restaurant and I am not very happy being his customer till early part of that day.

Excellent value for moneey. stayed here with family and bunk beds were good for children. excellent airconditioning provided much needed relief in hot summer. Bath room was quite small but I am not complaining but for 100 euros and 4 persons its no big deal if you are on budget?

Hotel ai Tolentini is a very nice small hotel located in the centre of Venice. It takes a 5 minute walk from the central bus station to get to the hotel which is very nice because otherwise you have to walk a long way or take a water-taxi to get to a hotel which is very expensive. The rooms of the hotel are not very big but adequate and most important very clean. Although you have to eat your breakfast in a little cafe/bar on a small square near the hotel this didn't bother us at all. The breakfast is okay, nothing special though but Italians don't eat that much in the morning. Underneath the hotel there is a very good restaurant located, we ate there for two times and it was excellent, not touristic at all, fresh products and a lot of choice. The street at which the hotel is located can be a little noisy at night but that's also the charm of the location. The price of the hotel is very good for Venice standards, we paid 350 euro for 3 nights. All in all we would recommend hotel ai Tolentini to our family and friends and to ourselfs because when we come back to Venice we will stay there again. Keep up the good work hotel ai Tolentini!

Hotel ai tolentini is amazing! It's very close to the bus station and once you order a room with them, they will provide a description/step by step guide on how to find their hotel. The room was quiet cosy for the 2 of us and well equipped with fridge, ac, wardrobe, hairdryer etc. In the mornings, you can stand by the window, enjoy the fantastic sun and if your lucky, a street musicians maybe playing away and you have a fabulous view! At night, it's close to a few cafe and restaurants and the canal so you can stroll around or just enjoy a cup of coffee. Venice is amazing and the hotel is very close to the water taxi, shops, restaurants and a few amazing churches. Overall an excellent hotel and highly recommend it

We were really disappointed with the hotel, the photos made it look much bigger and it didn't even have a breakfast room, instead given beakfast vouchers at a nearby cafe whose owner was most unfriendly and wanted to charge us 3 euros for an extra coffee! Room was very small and we have stayed in other popular Italian cities such as Rome or Sienna in much much better accomodation for similar $ value. I would not recommend this accomodation if you have children or luggage - almost impossible to take it up the narrow stairs and the staff on 2nd day was not very friendly or helpful. We would not come back - the only positive thing was that it was nearby the station and the free wifi.

Nearby restaurants, especially the one underneath the hotel, were excellent and inexpensive. The service outstanding. The hotel is located near the train station, Piazatele Roma, which is where all roads end in Venice, and the Venice People Mover, which gets you to the port for cruiseships in 3 minutes at a cost of one Euro. The only negative is that the hotel room is not air conditioned which resulted in us having to leave the windows open during our stay. This allowed for many mosquito bites and being woken up several times with Venitian revellers heading out of Venice.

Perfect location near the bus terminal, train station and cruise port. Near by restaurants were excellent and prices great - especially in the one under the hotel. I would highly recommend as an inexpensive place to stay because of its location. However, there is no air conditioning and it was 90f+ when we were there and it did not cool off at night. This meant the windows have to be left open and noice echos through the narrow venitian streets.

I was not sure by the hotel description and review comments whether all rooms had private baths. So I spent a few extra Euros and booked the Romantic Double with Sparkling Wine for myself and my wife of 35 years, on the assumption that the romantic Italians would surely provide full accommodatons for such a special stay. I was half right. When we arrived the hotel clerk handed us a 25 cl bottle of wine and two plastic cups and the key, and took us to our room at the end of the hall. There was a drapery about 4' before the end of the hall; beyond the drape on the right was the bedroom door, and straight ahead was the door to the toilet and sink. Whenever we went to our room we closed the drape snugly, and several times we noticed that the drape had been moved by curious guests wondering what was behind. So much for privacy. The room was small, also with a sink; and a shower with mold around the base was in the corner of the bedroom, with a drapery around it to conceal it. An old coffe pot with calcification and stagnant water inside was included, but no coffee or tea packets. Otherwise the room was reasonably clean. There was considerable noise from the street: loud talking, high heel shoes and suitcase wheels on the stone pavement. On Saturday night there was no one attending the main desk and the area was curtained off. On Sunday the people at the desk were pleasant, they may have been the owners; had we met them at the beginning we might have had a kinder opinion of the hotel.

This hotel was near the train station and where the busses come in to Venice which is why we stayed there our last night in Venice. Because of that the street noise was loud with lots of people walking by well into the night. it was very convenient to the bus to the airport the next morning so that was the trade off. The staff was very nice and helpful.

I appreciated the place, and the room, but many little bad things came and made my journey there less good as I was supposing it have to be Good things : 1. Geographic location : near the train station, and bus station 2. Rooms are clean. Rooms are very romantic, with a special decoration, as in pics on website. 3. A private little bathroom inside the room, which is something quite rare in Venezia, where most of hotel proposes rooms with collective bathroom. The bathroom is clean 4. The small team working in the hotel, including the owner, is young, between 20 and 30 years. They give good advices, and good plans to go in places of interest, parties and even bars and clubs … Night Life is also fascinating in Venezia !!!! 5. After leaving the room, they was helpful with us, We could leave there our luggage in the hotel for a whole day, from 10am to 8pm, and paying nothing !!! Bad things : 1. a former venician house, so : the rooms are small, the corridors are veeeeery small … it is the case of most hotel in Venezia. 2. The reception is in the 1st floor, and to get there you have to take a very narrow stairs … better have no big luggage with you 3. Starting from 9pm, and many times during the day, there is nobody in the reception. So a very important thing to do, is to call the hotel before to go there, first to check your reservation, and then to be sure that is gonna be some one waitin for you !!! 4. no dining room or breakfast rooms in the hotel … I don’t advice to take your room with the breakfast, cause you will have a small and little breakfast in the bar infront. Better take only the bed, and make you own breakfast in other place … Conclusion : I paid 115euros per night for a double room in that small and clean romantic hotel, which afterall, is a good deal for the prices in Venezia. But better, take a hotel who gives you a real breakfast, cause eating is expensive in Venezia.

Very friendly staff. Good location: 5 mins from train station, easy to walk to Rialto Bridge and St Marks Square (clear signposting all the way) or get the vaporetto along the Grand Canal. Didn't feel quite as touristy in this area and the prices more realistic, eg: Great trattoria around the corner, next to Tolentini canal, with a tourist menu for 15 euros - compared to 17 euros for a coffee in St Mark's Square.

They provided me a double room although I asked for a single. I was very happy with the room for the price I paid. There were two things, though. The hotel's location was not exactly as indicated in the map, I had to asked the locals for direction. Another thing is the staff member told me they only accept cash which put me in an awkard position because that was my last two days in Italy. I had to go to the bank next day to get more cash. Yet another satff told they did accept credit card! There is no air conditioner in the room, but it was ok for me because it was spring.

It was great, however far from San Marcos, but a couple of blocks from the train terminal. It is agreat place to stay if you are thinking about getting the water "metro" pass for however number of days you are staying there because it is kind of far from the heart of the city.

We took bus from Treviso airport and arrive at Venice Bus Station at around 11pm!! From there the weather was around 0 degree Celcius and very windy. The best thing is there's nobody to ask for the direction to the hotel but luckily one guy from nowhere told me that the hotel is just 2 briges away. 2 bridges away sounds very near but in actual fact it was not. With 2 20kgs bag to carry, it was very cumbersome to find the direction at 11 ++ pm. I would say the hotel is very difficult to find and looks VERY cheap. Gosh! it is appalling!! After pressing the door bell, I have to carry my luggage to 1st floor to the hotel and was given a hotel key for 2nd floor room!!!. The reception italian guy was very very UNhelpful with his deficiency in English, difficult for him to understand conversation. Once entered the room it was VERY2 small and smell worst than toilet!! After opening the window at cold Venice weather, then the smell faded away. My advice to fellow travellers..AVOID this hotel at ALL COSTS!!

When you open the door of the hotel, you have a surprise: a pleasant and well decorated place. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and made us feel right at home the minute we arrived. They even offered us a newly renovated room, the quality and spaciousness of which was easily equivalent to that of a three-star hotel. Location is great - it's a five-minute walk away from the main train station. Rooms are clean and comfortable, definitely value for money. Excellent.

We have rated the relationship between price and quality as poor on general UK experience. We accept, however, that Venice is an expensive venue and if compared to, say, London prices would be about OK. Whilst we accept this hotel is at the budget end of the market an electric kettle with cups to make tea and coffee would add significantly to the ammenity of the room at a fairly modest outlay. This is particularly relevant in view of the absence of any bar or coffee shop facilities which it would be unreasonable to expect in a hotel operating in this part of the market. No problem with the staff on duty who were always helpful and very friendly. The location close to the railway station is very handy if you choose to come in by train as we had originally planned. If you get dropped off at the airport and come in by water bus you are at the wrong end of town.

Great little hotel.Easy walk from the railway station but if you have a suit case on wheels use the ramp to the LHS of the station going out and you'll have to lift it over the steps over the canel bridge. But its not too far so stick with it. Nice little cafe for breakfast just outside. Easy location to get on the cheap water buses (Vaporetto)to get all over Venice. Enjoy!
