Most wonderful experience we have had at a hotel ever. my luggage was lost and the hotel handled it for us, leaving us to enjoy our vacation. My lifelong dream of going to Italy could have been really bad, Certosa was an oasis. Everyone there was unbelievably kind and helpful. I would highly recommend it.

A very good hotel, near the center of Venise. You need a private "taxi" after 20h, but the service, offered by the hotel, works very well. This adress can be recommanded !

first stay i'm 30 my sister is 19. It was away from the main area of venice (nice 35 min ferry) quiet and a peaceful respite after sightseeing. Relaxed and helpful staff. Simple, clean rooms and great outdoor restaurant area. The after hours hotel boat took 5 mins to come and get us.

I can't praise the hotel like many visitors before. Looks like, I am a bit spoiled staying in much better three star hotels in the north of Italy and Autriche before. The room was nice, but small, we booked a tripple as we thought, the room was larger. But it was the same size, which made it very narrow since an ugly looking additonal bed that there. The beds themselves were quite small, unconfortable and not stable. The breakfast was rather poor, no additonals of the normal like fruits, meet or cheese. The bread was fresh, but only two types were given. People were very friendly, the hotel was very clean, and the surrounding was fantastic. You reach the city center in 15 minutes, at night the hotel offers a free shutle service from the closest vaparetto station which means, you need to be prepared to cruise on a very small boat. Overall, you get a lot for the fare.... but still small improvements should be done.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. What a fabulous surprise! It is its own island - an optional stop on the vaporetto. There is a yacht-making school there and it is surrounded by sailboats. We went off-season (end of October/beginning of November)and we almost had the place to ourselves. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly. Recently, a young couple were contracted to work there. Laura helps at the front desk and in the restaurant and Luca is the chef. The food was great and reasonably priced - homemade gnocchi with rabbit ragu, pheasant breast with mustard sauce, salmon in wine sauce, molten chocolate cake, panna cotta with a passionfruit glaze. We had to leave early to catch a plane and they gave us a wakeup call and had the hotel skiff take us on a courtesy run to the pick-up point for the Alilaguna boat to the airport. My understanding is that they plan to do more advertising for this hidden gem and they're putting everything in place. I'd go there again in a minute!

We arrived very hot and tired and were immediately offered a cool drink of our choice. Only a small thing but very significant. The staff were friendly and very efficient and helpful. Breakfast lovely and everything one could want. Surroundings-well, fascinating. Was there a monastery on the other side of the rabbit-proof fence? Lots of activities on the "campus". The shuttle boat worked well for the later night transfers. All in all excellent value for Venice and a welcome escape from the exhausting tempo of Venice in July. Yes, something of an adventure-maybe a return visit in early autumn would be nice.

It's a real nice hotel, very friendly, clean, quiet, but the problem is the island Certosa where you always have to cross over. The public boats don't go to Certosa after 9pm so you always have to call the hotel boat service. This works well but you always loose a lot of time.

The hotel made a good base, not too far from Venice proper. It had everything necessary for relaxing after a long sightseeing day (food, bar, garden area, quiet Island setting).

We arrived in Venice late at night and took the Airport shuttle to the stop that our directions told us only to find out that the last boat to the hotel's island had already left. We found ourselves stuck, not knowing Venice or much about the public boat system. After calling the hotel from a bar and receiving no help in finding the hotel boat, we ended up paying 90 Euro for a 5 minute water taxi ride to the hotel. Although the hotel was beautiful and clean once we arrived, the staff were unhelpful and not empathetic to our situation and laughed at our misfortunes. Beware: The private boat that is advertised only drops off at a certain stop in Venice and only runs during the late night hours; the public boat that runs to Certosa runs during the day and costs 6 euro per person.

we stayed two nights - the rooms are ok for a 3 star hotel. We eat one evening there - the food was rather disappointing but price was reasonable.

Let me say outright that this was one of our most enjoyable Italy hotels. It provided a quiet and peaceful escape from Venice and gave us a comfortable place to kick back. The staff were incredible and the rooms and meals were excellent and also an excellent value. I will never stay anywhere else when I visit Venice again.

It's wonderfull.. you are near Venice, on a little island very quiet ! You are welcome ... The personal is very very nice ... One issue (bus strike or the hot water tank have an execeptionnel matter ... they find the solution). Ok the cable are limited to Italian TV and the TV is flat and little ... (not me, but my lovely Man Opinion). But you don't go to venice to watch TV ! To sum up, wonderfull personn and the boat in the night to come back to the hotel when you want it's very extra, even if there's no night life in Venice. Thanks

Good hotel but for information, the 2 nights we were there, an employee came at 11h00 pm to see if we had closed our windows. A good hotel on a beautiful island.

We enjoyed the hotel very much. The gardens and the area of the island that is open to the public are very relaxing and peaceful. A good hint: if you wish to have dinner in the evening ask in advance if food is available. A great chillout hotel after a long day of sightseeing with the children.

On the quiet island of Certosa, the hotel is a WELCOME respite from the zaniness of Venice. An easy vaporetto ride away from all there is to see, the facility is new and the staff is immensely accomodating and welcoming. Rooms are small (cozy?). We avoided the challenge of getting back to the island after the last vaporetto, and the staff served us a satisfying light meal of cheeses, meats and a fine red wine. For someplace off the beaten path and a unique experience, I highly recommend this hotel.

There was not the first time we have booked hotel with Venere.com and the hotel again is absolutely great. We loved every minute of our stay. Staff, especially a woman at the recepsion was so nice and helpful. The rooms wewre perfect and very clean and the floors were heated, I loved it. Breakfast was very good nd tasty. THe hotel is situated on the island and after 8 in the evening a boat from the hotel will bring you back any time at night. We were there from 1st of Feb till 3 Feb for Venice carnival and to celebrate my husband's birthday, and now we think we might make it our tradition.

Overall this is a nice place to stay, for the quiet location and the price it provides. The hotel keeper is a very nice lady, offered us a lot of help beyond you normally expect. However, you have to be very careful if you want to book this hotel. It is at a private island with limited public transportation. The website says public vaporatto available till 8:55pm. This is not accurate. The last one serving the island from San Marco is 8pm, though it serves later on the other less popular direction. And after we missed the last one, we tried to call the boat service provided by the hotel for late night clients, only to find that the guy does not speak English. We finally got the hotel keeper to call him for us. But it was not very pleasant experience in a cold winter night.

I had an extraordinary time. The staff, particularly the Vigilanzia, make a real advantage of the remote location. It was pure adventure with plenty of great stories for later- falling stars, poachers turned gamekeepers and damsels rescued from ferocious beasts. Not bad for a business trip! I had a 2-hour journey to get to Marghera for 8am but it was worth it every morning. I had a prompt 5.30 wakeup call and a speedboat waiting at 6am on the dot. The rides across the bay at dawn I will never forget, nor coming back at night. The day I left, a staff member even helped me with the lantern to call the vaporetto to the request stop on the island. I will be coming back as soon as I can to explore the island properly, as well as the Cimiterio and the glassworks. It's not the most luxurious hotel, but the incredible peace, the traditional boatworks, the great, knowledgeable staff and the extraordinary value will bring me back shortly. One word of warning- if you don't like jumping into small boats, this might not work for you, unless you stick to the vaporetto hours! NickyD

Not your traditional place in Venice but definately one to remember. If your looking for a very quiet retreat after sight seeing all day this place is perfect. Extremely clean because everything is brand new. All the staff is so friendly and accomodating and the prices on food and drink very reasonable. A little difficult to get to for the very first time because it is so new. It is not a regular stop for the water taxis and not everyone knows about it yet. Don't let this detour you though. Just take boat #41 outside Lucia train station and tell the driver to stop at Certosa island.

I do not know where to start my praise for this hotel. I was more than impressed with the hotel, location and the staff. I think the price I paid was less than the value & service provided by this hotel. For example, we had missed getting dinner and the hotel had closed its kitchen, the bar person casually asked us if we had dinner. After knowing we had not had dinner, he especially made dinner for us by opening the kitchen, he prepared Steak & Seafood Pasta, which I must say was very good. The environment is very welcoming & friendly. I would like to take this opportunity and thank the manager Sabrina P. & Manuel for making our stay memorable. We will surely stay here when we visit Venice again, which is also a very beautiful place. Amitov & Gloria Aptekar...of Canada
