Spent 2 nights in this hotel with my wife and my 2 children. Very cosy family room decorated in the venitian colors, good beds, perfect bathroom. Excellent situation near a vaporetto station, in walking distance from railway station and from the most touristic areas (rialto bridge etc.). Many shops and restaurants nearby. Rather quiet, though. Only the breakfast could be improved (a real fruit juice would be a plus), and the air conditioning wasn't working. In conclusion we would strongly recommend this place.

A great place to explore Venice. In a small, quiet alley a short walk from the Grand Canal and Rialto bridge, the small nature of the hotel is compensated for by the great welcome and friendly attentive attention from the staff. The room are all stylish in a typical Venetian way, quiet and comfortable. Breakfasts were great in a neat dining room area with a terrific balcony option upstairs.

Hotel would have been a little tricky to find but we were greatly assisted by srategically placed directional markers. 5 Mins walk from Grand Canal. Local area felt safe and was just far enough from main tourist locations. Breakfast plentiful, but would have liked some fruit. All in all excellent value for money, hlepful and professional staff.

Ca San Polo is a very nice and cozy Bed and Breakfeast or Travellers Lodge. To call it a Hotel is not quite correct. It was ok, but if the special price is more than € 150,- one expects to get a little bit more.

the hotel was fine but the location left alot to be desired for us. venice is very confusing to get around the alleyways ,they are poorly marked so this one is down one of them, not at all easy to locate. if you want to see san marco, and the square etc, i don't recommend staying here.

We were very pleased with the Ca' San Polo. We thought the hotel provided very good value for the money, considering the prices in Venice. It was very well located in Venice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was quite good and plentiful. The hotel had a nice, friendly, informal atmosphere.

As a family with 2 young children (9, 11 years old) the room was very cramped. We had a queens size bed and a queen size sofa in one room with a small onsuite. Despite this we had a great time and the service was excellent. THe owner was very accommodating and offered many helpful suggestions of what to see and where to go.

This was a noisy hotel - but then so is everywhere. The breakfast was good and it was a good part of town. There was a bag lift to cope with all those stairs. The bathroom in the room was quite badly laid out eg; the door did not open the full way.

This was our first visit to Venice, so we had a hard time finding Ca' San Polo on the Venice "streets". Once we arrived, Damiono welcomed us and was extremely gracious and helpful with directions, luggage and transportation. The location is great near the Grand Canal and relatively close to all the sites. Our quad room was clean and the entire property was the nicest of our stay in Italy. The only slight downside was the AC in our room on the top floor could not overcome the outside late June heat and it was a little warm over night. Overall, we would recommend Ca' San Polo.

We travelled with our 12 year old grandson so saw a lot through his eyes. Once we found the hotel, we were all delighted (other than the two or three floors we had to carry up the luggage). The hotal staff was quite good and helpful with customs, etc. Breakfast was more than enough--loved the fruit.

Interesting city. I don't think I would spend more than one night in the city. Be ready for all the tourists! The staff at the hotel was fine. I would not describe them as overly friendly, but not any different than anyone else in the city.

Bearing in mind the price I felt the hotel should have had a lounge at the very least. As the room was modest in size it felt overall rather restrictive. The breakfast was exactly the same each day. For the money I felt this was paltry. We were really dissatisfied with our stay. But by the time we got there we really could do nothing about the drawbacks.

We were very pleased to stay at Ca San Polo. Our room was exceptionally (in Venice standards!) spacious and bathroom was very clean and new. Staff was very friendly and kind, it was a pleasure to chat with them. Breakfast was very good too. The location may not look very central but it is very close to the vaporetto stop and also is away from the tackiness of San Marco square. Walking back to the hotel gave us the chance of peeking through more residential parts of Venice, which was a wonderful experience with lovely small canals, beautiful houses (where people actually live!). I strongly recommend Ca Macana for mask shopping, very close to the hotel, too!

Our stay at Hotel Ca' San Polo was fantastic. The family room was great, breakfast was lovely and the staff always friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to future travellers. The only problem we had was finding our way to the hotel. We named Venice "The Giant Maze". Unfortunately I cannot suggest any improvement to help others.

Second stay at this charming hotel. Staff very Friendly, helpful and welcoming. Stairs could be a challenge for older people. Some beds are a little hard.Rooms are small but attractive, bathrooms modern and clean. Buffet Breakfast more than adequate. Hotel is short walking distance from Canal boat. New signs are helpful in locating hotel. Great, interesting, location.

To live in Cà San Polo is exactly as to live in a Venetian house, therefore you have not a great reception in front of a street, but a simple little door in a calle, then a staircase and at the first floor the receptionist, friendly and helpful with a lot of information, if you need it. A Venetian room with a wooden-beam ceiling, large for Venetian standards. Great! A comfortable bath-room and a very good ratio quality/price for Venice. Only breakfast could have been better. An hotel located just in the centre of the basic directions in venice: railway station-San Tomà-Accademia; Rialto-San Tomà-Accademia-San Marco. Close to Canal Grande, the church of Frari, Campo Santa Margherita and the church of Carmini. An hotel suited to the lover of Venice!

To us the Hotel was perfect because of the location; Our room was The Doble superior wich it has enough space and the design was very nice. The only thing I couln't believe it is that if someone smokes at whathever room, there is an alarm that makes stop the whole system in the Hotel, then you have to wait for 20 minutes until the systems get going again...so to have hot watter!!...the room costs 140.00 euros ...That is the only thing that I can not understand. But If I travel to venice again I would repeat for sure, I recomend it.

I had only two problems with the hotel. First, I needed internet access and they have only wireless, which did not reach my room, and did not work with my computer when it was within coverage in the breakfast room. They also did not have cable/ethernet direct access. All this was quite a pain due to my working the week I was there. Note I have a Macintosh which also is sometimes problematic in Europe. Second, like absolutely anyplace in Venice, there is a lot of street noise, mainly people walking (boot heels make a LOT of noise on the ubiquitous stone pavement). The only way to avoid this is to find a room not facing onto a walkway, which is not all that easy. I need to add, however, that we tend to sleep with the window open a bit for fresh air, which amplifies the problem. If you keep the windows closed you'll have no problems. But you very likely will have neither problem which were peculiar to ourselves. The hotel is quite warm and accommodating, very central to a wonderful part of Venice, off the major tourist areas. I would go back on my next stay.

The hotel is 10 minutes walk to the Rialto Bridge. You have to take the vaporetto! 13 Euros a day, you can take as often you want the vaporettos. And you have a beautiful sight from Venice - which you won't have just by walking.

The hotel was fine and the location was good. It was fairly easy to find and it was in a quiet area of venice.Price wise I feel it was slightly expensive for out of season and a very small family room but it was great to have a booking as we arrived in the rain at night. There was not much choice of places to eat with children and close to the hotel in the evening.

Our room was charming. It felt like we were in a theatrical production....kind of surreal. Looking out the window in the morning...hearing the sounds of the surrounding restaurants and businesses added a special charm and sweetness. Walking distance to good restaurants and the sites of Venice. We enjoyed it. Our quad room was small but clean and just fine for one night.

We enjoyed the employees most of all. They were just wonderful! Paolo, especially, hospitable and just a nice person. The person that was there on our arrival was also very welcoming and very gracious.(Can't remember his name) We were only at this location for one night while in route to another. The place was immaculate and bathroom too!(marble/tile fixtures) We didn't care that the place was small because we typically are out in the city while vacationing. They recommended a wonderful restaurant literally at the bottom of the stairs and three doors away(Trattoria da IGNAZIO-beautiful outdoor courtyard-food was wonderful!) Would definately come back to Ca'San Polo. Small, quaint, quiet.

This hotel was well located near the tourist attractions. The rooms were very clean and the bathroom was fully equipped with good quality towels, soaps, etc. The management and breakfast staff were courteous and helpful. The breakfast was continental and served in a lovely room. There was a small rooftop sitting area. There was not much of a view on the 2nd floor but that is expected when you see how close the buildings are to each other. The 3rd floor offered more view. The air conditioning was silent and at the perfect temperature. It was summer and very hot and humid outside, so it was nice to come back to a cool and comfortable room.

The Hotel is located at the hearth of Venice, and is not too far from the nearby Vaporeto (water bus) station. Ftom the train station is about 20 mins in Vaporeto. Is compact, but nice and the rooms are clean and well furnished, if somewhat small. I stayed in a family suite with 3 beds (two doubles one single). The bathroom is nic e and the airconditioning work very well. The breakfast is provided in a spacious room and is reasonably good. The only complain is that the sound proofing of the rooms is poor, and thus noise from other rooms can be heard (or you can be asked to be quiet like in my case as the guest in the nearby room compained about our usual chatter before going to bed - nothing extraordinary but we are five). It is easy to go from the Hotel to many attractions in Venice by water bus or walking. There is no Internet access. The staff was courteous.

My wife and I had difficulty finding the hotel, but that's probably common for first-time visitors to Venice. We thought the hotel was well maintained, the staff were most helpful, and the location was good. There is a luggage elevator, but guests must be prepared to climb fairly narrow stairs to access the main desk and their rooms. Like most North Americans would, we found our room very small. We travelled with two medium sized suitcases and two smaller, and were hardpressed to navigate the room with our luggage taking up most of the floor space. The decor was pleasant and the electronic security system, including safe, was very good. The bed was good; the bathroom modern, clean and well supplied.

Liked clean newly renovated bathroom and amenities. Excellent air conditioning. Service was very good. Guests have to be able to climb stairs.

The cost for superior room was £200 yet to me it did not appear to be superior. In the hotel specification it appeared there would be an elevator for the guests to use but it was not the case.It was difficult to take a suitcase up 4 flights of staircase. Please could you specify that the elevator is not for the customer. My husband found it difficult as he is over 65 and suffers from high blood pressure.

Having arrived by sleeper at 9.30am, we were too early to use our room, but the staff warmly welcomed us, took our luggage and suggested places to visit until our room was ready. They also stored our luggage on our last day. I found the hotel easily, despite the confusing map, due to the discreet direction signs on the route from San Tomas vaparetto. The elevator was a boon, as my wife has mobilty problems. The room was ideal for us, very comfortable bed, spotless bathroom with a powerful shower. the personal safe is very useful to keep spare cash and passports. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice. The breakfast room is small, so if you have a pressing appointment, it pays to be early or you may have to wait 10 minutes. This was our first visit to Venice and I don't think we could have picked a more welcoming place to stay. I will certainly use the hotel again.

Nice rooms and good service. Recently renovated with nice bathroom. Nice surroundings in the San Palo area. A good walk to the Rialto bridge or Accademia bridge to get to the sights on the north side of the Grand Canal. Be sure to have a map and the location of the hotel on the map before you head out. We received bad directions at the airport (they must have been thinking of a different hotel) and had a difficult time finding the hotel. Great assistance from local restaurants to find it eventually. Luckily our bags were still in Zurich so we were not lugging them with us.

The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside but is very charming on the inside. Our room was spacious and nicely furnished. The spotless, modern bath was welcome. Breakfast room was lovely and served varied bkfst items to please young and old. Front desk staff were most helpful and pleasant. As we have prepared a proper map, found the place of the hotel easily even my first trip to Venice. It was only 10-15 min walk from Rome square(bus terminal). Were offered a free trip to Murano by water-taxi, for which we did not feel exterme obligations to buy something there. It was good decision. The quadro room are not big, but would be acceptable. Air-condition equipped would be great if we were staying during summer. Breakfast provided with basic stuff only, e.g. bread, ham, cheese, yougult, juice and coffee at limited space, but also acceptable. Not so far away to Rialto. Recommendable for tourists, but maybe depending upon a price.

I've been to Venice many times, both as a bachelor and now with a family with young children and I have to say that Ca' San Polo is our favorite. The pictures accurately show the size of the rooms. During this particular trip, we traveled with my brother and his wife. I booked the superior room for them and it was larger than any room I've see in a 4 star hotel in Venice. For my family of 4 we took a suite (one room) which had a sofa bed which was more than enough. The actual (parents) bed was a king-size bed, so when the 5 and 8 year old climbed into it, we hardly noticed. But the size of the rooms are only a small part of the Venice experience. Truly, no one spends a single moment dawdling in their room when the wonders of Venice abound. The manager, Fabio, was particularly helpful giving us better recommendations for restaurants than any of the guide books. One night, the staff not only booked our water taxi, but walked us over to the launching point so to save us as much time as possible. Of course if there are chocolate croissants on the breakfast table and jump-ready beds, our kids are happy. And you have to love the Italians who generally appreciate children, particularly at this hotel. We booked two babysitters though the hotel. We felt so comfortable with them that we gave her some money to take the children out for gelato. The location in San Polo is much much better than being in the heart of San Marco, so for first timers, I recommend starting right and avoiding the crowds around where you stay. There is still fantastic (and less expensive) shopping, great pizza and gelaterias around the corner, and the best wine store I've seen in Venice within 10 minutes walk. And besides, it's much more quiet, so if you like to sleep past the break of dawn, you won't be awoken if the windows are open. Regarding this hotel, the last anecdote I have to leave is the one about our departure. My family and I were on our way to Tuscany and lo and behold,

Really not a bad hotel for the price! The only downfall was that we had reserved a smoking room on-line, but once there, we were told that the entire hotel was non-smoking. As most smokers know, it would have been nice to know that before hand. Also, we woke up every morning at the foot of the bed due to the fact that the floor was uneven. Breakfast was also included in the price and was actually quite delightful. For those who stay at this hotel, try out the restaurant in front of the hotel and let the waiter know that you were referred to them by the hotel, you'll get excellent service and great food for a reasonable price.

We had reserved a quad and arrived early in the day. There were some off-property rentals available at the same price which worked out great for us - an appartment at the price of a hotel room, 10 minutes from the hotel! Staff was very friendly, breakfasts were very good and the value for money was great. I would not hesitate to return and have suggested the Ca'San Polo to friends for their trip to Venise. A word of caution, do not follow the map on the site - go to Campo San Polo and head west, look for the little yellow signs...

I would definitely stay at Ca' San Polo in the future simply because of the service that we experienced from the concierge, Marco. Marco was fully of helpful advice regarding local restaurants and entertainment. Marco also helped us plan our trip throughout Italy, recommending great places to stay and things to see. The staff were very good , particularly Marco, who met us at the canal and advised us on restaurants etc. He also showed us the best way to get back to our car and was generally very helpful and pleasant. As first time visitors to this beautiful city, our only challenge was finding the hotel. Once the water taxi drops you off at the Rialto Bridge stop, (arriving from the airport) you still have to make your way across the bridge to the other side. (Not an easy task for a family of four with luggage). You then have to try to find the hotel through the many narrow streets. It took us a while, but we finally arrived to an extremely friendly and helpful reception. Our room was a little small, but we enjoyed the cozy European atmosphere. The breakfast was good, I enjoyed being able to help myself to a coffee and take it back to my room. The location is good for walking to the main tourist attractions. There is also good shopping in the immediate area, we found prices lower on this side of the bridge. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

My only complaint about the Hotel Ca' San Polo is that it is so Teeny. I stayed there with my wife and 2 children and we had a quadruple room it was VERY SMALL. The room was very nice and the bathroom was small but fine but it really was not meant for 4 people. The other thing people should know is that there is no lift in the hotel. You must walk through the door and right away is a flight of steps. The breakfast room which is tight is up 3 flights. The staff was very friendly. The walk from the San Toma vaperetto stop is short, but ask directions because it is complicated. I might stay again but I would get 2 rooms for 4 people.

Our stay at the Ca' San Polo could not have been much better. The ower of the hotel personally greeted us upon arrival. Gave us reccomendations for dinner spots. Set up a private tour of a glass factory on Murono. The rest of the hotel staff took care of any inconvenience we may have encountered. The air conditioning wasn't working well in one of our rooms. Within 5 minutes someone came to look into it and advised that in the morning it would be fixed. And it was. We had little trouble finding the hotel but I think that was more luck than anything else. As people will find, Venice is one of the easiest places to get lost. But that is part of the charm of the area. The hotel very well located away from but not too far from the "touristy" places. Easy walking to everywhere. We would without a doubt book the same hotel when we return some day.

Hello everyone, I stayed in a Tripple room and I have to say "it was great" The price was good compared to the prices of hotels in venice specially in july. Getting to the hotel isn't easy but all you have to do is take the Vaporetto line 82 and get off at Campo San Toma (please ask someone how to get to Campo San polo once you get off because it is a lot easier than looking for it on a map. It's not that the hotel doesn't give you good directions I would rather say that it is difficult getting around in venice overall so unless you are from there you will get lost. Breakfast was good at least it had fruit and cold cuts so for italy that's a lot better than most places. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean so I'd def recomend it. Getting to San Marco and Ponte rio alto is really easy all you have to do is follow the signs just make sure you remember more or less how to come back. When you are coming back from San marco or rio alto just follow the signs that say "Ferrovia" (railway station) that will get you to San Polo. If you are going to the reailway station from the hotel it is about a 10-15 minute walk and all you have to do is follow the signs. I highly recomend this hotel plus the staff was nice.

We were a family of 2 adults & 2 girls (aged 16 & 8) staying in a family room at this hotel. The hotel was not that difficult to find as I did some research before hand as to it's location. Don't get sucked in to buying a 5 euro boat ticket to get there by vaporetto, just walk; it would only be a 10 minute walk from the main entry on the island to the hotel. Simply follow the signs to San Marco & the hotel is signposted along this route when you get close. We stayed in a family room; it was quite small for the price we paid, but beautifully furnished. The bathroom was nice & clean & the shower good. The weather was very hot & our room was on the top floor so the air conditioner was very welcome. Breakfast was pretty good with a good selection to choose from. The staff were excellent & very helpful. Take minimum luggage (as we did), just enough for your stay as the hotel has no lift. It was centrally located to everything in Venice & we walked everywhere (except Murano). The hotel staff organised (free of charge) a trip to a glass factory in Murano. A taxi picks you up & you are escorted & shown the workings of the factory; we (kids included) found it very interesting. Only drawback...you feel like you then have an obligation to buy something at the factory & are pressured to a degree. We didn't buy so had to make our own way back to Venice. Would probably stay again as it had a really nice "venetian" feel to it & the excellent location.

Everything was as described in venere.com. The welcoming was more than enough, very friendly and helped throughout our stay as to where to go, eat, etc. Very pleasing stay

Fantastically central location to everything. It is a bit challenging to get to if this is your first time in Venice....simply undertsanding how to get to Venice from the Marco Polo airport - specifically using the waterbus is not completly intuitive. However, once you crack that it becomes pretty obvious. The two male receptionsists were incredibly helpful, courteous and welcoming. Would return in a heartbeat.

Small room, for 2 adult/2teens, but ok place to crash. Difficult to find, but I suspect everplace in venice is that way, kinda like a rat in a maze, but I finally found the cheese after asking several locals for help, a kind lady walked me to a corner and showed me a very small sign on a building with the hotel name and an arrow. Good breakfast, good service.

excellent value for Venice. Other reviews said hotel is hard to find, but if you get off at the correct stop and follow the map, it was not hard at all. As you get close to the hotel, there are signs on the buildings pointing you in the right direction, so it is very easy to get there. We will choose this hotel again.

Quite difficult to find, down a little alley with only a small sign. Room clean and attractive. Breakfast reasonable. Staff friendly and spoke english quite well. No lift, stairs only (only a couple of flights).

Room #15 was expected to be found in a doll house... However, very tastefully decorated and convenient. Service is good and friendly. Even with the map, the hotel may be hard to find from the vaporetto station ! Luggage on wheels recommanded (it's Venice...)

W Ca' San Polo mieszkalem z Asia przez cztery majowe noce i moge Wam polecic ten hotel, spedzilismy tam fantastyczne (acz krotkie) wakacje.

Excellent reception and service.Very fiendly and helpful receptionists. Nice location not far from all places of interest. The only difficulty is to find the place!Although not far from the parking lots (10-15 minutes walking) it can take one hour if you are not familiar with the address system! The address given does not apply to a street but to a full district. So the important is to watch the number once you are in right district!. The easiest is to buy right away a boat transport ticket (only 12 euros per 24 hours unlimited) and descend at the Campo St Thomas stop, and then ask for directions,(3 minutes from the hotel). We would definetly book in the same place again. The Ca'San Polo was very convenient for it's proximity to top sights, but was a bit difficult to find at first. The room was lovely and comfortable and the service excellent. They even met our request for 2 large plastic bags to put over our luggage at our departure in a downpour. They must have thought we were nuts, but very politely offered the help we requested. We can easily recommend them.

Hotel Rooms were very clean and well equipped. Continental breakfast was included and there was a good selection to choose from. Staff were very friendly and helpful. This was our first visit to Venice and we felt that we chose well with the location of our hotel as most of Venice is within a reasonable walking distance. As a couple who just wanted a base from which to explore Venice, the Ca'San Polo more than met our requirements.

We enjoyed staying in this Hotel. Its a great location away from the busy tourist areas but everything is a short walk away in Venice. Breakfast was good, staff were friendly and helpfull. Although it was expensive I believe the price is good value for Venice. Its only only ten minutes walk from main Car Park and railway station (if you know where to go) and much quicker than using the canal boats. The receptionist gave us a great run down on how to navigate through Venice. Venice is a great city - truly unique and this Hotel is a good value base for exploring the city.

Our room was a superior double, very nicely decorated and very quiet. Top marks for cleanliness, everything was brand new, the bathroom was excellent. Breakfast was also good. Location is ok. On the down side, there is no view from this hotel, and I expected a proper double bed rather two adjacent singles (with a double sheet), plus there were no English-speaking channels on the TV. Hotels in Venice are generally quite expensive; even so I guess you could find a better hotel for 150euros a night, but you'd be risking a lot!

This is a well run little hotel in the San Polo area ,easily accessible( 10 mins) from the Rialto Bridge accessible from the San Toma vaporetto stop and close to campo San Polo. The area is nowhere as over-run by tourists as the San Marco area yet it has many small bars and restaurants plus some interesting little shops. It seems a more genuine part of Venice. When we arrived the desk clerk took some time to explain in English some of the attractions of Venice and gave us some useful maps. The hotel is in a little back street and takes some careful navigation from the San Toma vaporetto stop, but the website map was easy to read. The Schola Grande is close ,as is the Friari church, both great Venice sights. Our room was small but it had a fully equipped bathroon with a shower.A light buffet breakfast is complimentary.

We booked two rooms for a one night post-cruise overnight stay. The staff was very helpful in recommending restaurants, directions and obtaining transportation. Well located small hotel. Website feedback very helpful in choosing hotel. Recommend providing directions via Vaporettea (waterbus) or water taxi. Short walk from San Toma Vaporettea stop on the grand canal not far from the Rialato bridge.

We fully enjoyed our stay. It was exactly as discribed on other reviews we had read. The staff were very pleasant, and helpful. Our room was very clean and spacious. We enjoyed a cup of tea after long day out. We would definately recomend this hotel to others. If and when we return to Venice we will Stay here again. It was not to difficult to find, once you understand the map. It is in a great location, and very quiet for sleeping.

5 Ladies 40+ stayed at this hotel. A little difficult to find on arrival, but once we got our bearings the location was fantastic. Plenty of bars, restaurants just a stones throw away. Also the water bus stop was 5 min away. The hotel itself was small and friendly, very clean and the rooms tasteful and very comfortable. Fantastic value for money, especially in Venice. Breakfast was continental and the dining area, even though small was light, airy , clean and the staff helpful. The rooftop terrace (above the breakfast area )is a lovely place to sit with your morning coffee overlooking the rooftops. I have already recommended this hotel to friends and would definately stay there again (and so would the other Ladies).
