The room was very spacious and very clean. Located in a quiet area near the station, the local bars/restaurants were better value than many in Venice. The staff were very pleasant. However, nearby church bells were quite loud starting at 7:00am. This was OK for us as we are early risers, but could be annoying for others. Also, the aircon struggled to maintain a cool temperature in the August heat. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would reccommend it for a 2/3 night stay.

It is always pleasant to find a hidden gem. Location was perfect for walking. Lots of eating nearby. The staff where very friendly and helpful. Our room was huge and having a bathtub to soak weary legs makes us happy. Close to bus station and train station is very important to us.

La prima colazione, contrariamente a quanto acritto da un ospite, è ottima, di tipo italiano, viene servita in un gradevolissimo giardino annesso all'albergo

Quaint. It really gave us a feel of authentic Venice culture. They were having dance class in the gymnasium across the courtyard. Television Stations were all in Italian.

A good bet for a budget hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, which compensates for the no-frills facilities and breakfast. Located nearly at the northwestern tip of Venice, the neighborhood is very quiet, residential, set in a calm courtyard, near good restaurants right on the canal and vaporetti stops (lines 41-42, 51-52) going around Venice in both directions. A bit far from the hustle and bustle, but perfectly situated for exploring the Cannaregio by foot, and it's nice to return at the end of the day to a neighborhood (and a hotel) that doesn't feel touristic at all. My last night some of the other establishments and quais were flooded, but the hotel stayed dry. And there is free wi-fi.

The room is very nice. Breakfast is very simple. We were wake up very early in the morning due to the bird's sound.

My wife and I stayed in the hotel for two days in April 09 because we wanted to be close to the station and the getto. The room was small and with the low ceiling felt a little cramped, so it seemed a lot of money for what was offered. Also the front office was not staffed overnight (8 pm to 8 am) which was unexpected. Otherwise it was clean and quiet.

15 min walk from the train station (with lugguages). Small room but comfortable. However, there was not enough space after our lugguages were opened. Nice and friendly staff. Breakfast in the garden was nice.

This hotel is located in a small square off the Cannaregio canal. The square is quiet at night though during the evening can be noisy as the building opposite is used for social events, aerobics classes and children's activities. The hotel staff were uniformly welcoming and helpful. The room was pleasant though the pillows were for me far too soft and I found sleep difficult. The air conditioning system seemed to malfunction at night and the room became very stuffy. A light Italian breakfast included in the price is served in your room. The staff were very helpful in providing me with an early breakfast on my final morning as I had a train to catch. I understand from the manager that the hotel is to go a thorough overhaul shortly, including new beds and, hopefully, new feather - as opposed to artificial - pillows!

It stayed at this hotel for the third. As for this hotel, it was very clean, and correspondence was also wonderful. I think that the cost performance is good.

Room was spacious and quiet, and the description of how to find the hotel was accurate and simple to follow. For the price (low season, 50 euros) this was excellent value. For the the high season price of 260 euros I would expect the room to be a bit cleaner (bathroom was fine but carpeted stairs and floor under bed hadn´t been vacuumed for a while), and the breakfast to include real coffee (instant coffee in Italy???) and more food.

This was a lovely hotel to stay in, very friendly and helpful staff. Quiet location (with lovely church bell alarm clock) but very easy to get to the main tourist sights and train station.

I had planned to stay at Ai Due Leoni for only 3 nights. My plans changed so I called at the last minute to see if I could come 3 nights earlier and stay 6 nights and they were happy to accommodate me. The service was excellent, staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful through my 6 night stay. I loved the location. A bit far from the major sites but quieter and less hectic than staying in the middle of the touristy chaos, which I loved. Just use the boats to get around instead of walking and it's quite convenient. My only minor complaint was that the room that I stayed in had A/C but it wasn't working very well. I am a single female and was traveling alone and I couldn't have had a nicer stay in Venice.

Great location for arriving in Venice late in the day. Directions would have worked better if the streets had better signs. Staff were helpful. Local canal-side restruants seemed to cater to local residents as it was hard to find one that was not totaly booked. Water taxi close by made it easy to get around Venice

Ai Due Leoni is a small, pleasent mid-range hotel close to the railway station (we walked with our luggage in about 10 minutes). The friendly receptionist spoke English and helped us with restaurant recommendations and reservations. We were very happy to see a clean, tidy and sunny room on our arrival - a split-level affair with small ante room and bathroom on the first level and bedroom on the second. There was some noise in the morning from (what sounded like) a nearby school concert rehersal, but the evenings were very quiet. Breakfast was a bit ordinary, but served in a charming, private courtyard. The hotel is very handy to the Vaporetto stops at Tre Archi and Guigli; to get to the main lines, just walk around the corner to Ferrovia. Once we became familiar with Venice, we also walked back to the hotel from the Rialto bridge area. We enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hestitate to recommend Ai Due Leoni to other travellers. Unless you're in the four star market, this hotel is near perfect.

I stayed in a quad room in this hotel in April 2007. The room was very spacious, with a private bathroom (with its own hair dryer). Just outside our windows was the hotel's courtyard where breakfast was served each morning by a very gracious host. The directions were correct, but because we arrived in Venice near midnight, it made it more difficult to find the street names on the buildings. The man working the counter that evening did not seem too overly friendly, but everyone else we encountered here was very pleasant and willing to help us get around Venice. I would definately recommend this hotel.

We were happy with the room and the location of the hotel.. In the beginning, it was a little bit complicated to found the hotel, the adress in the email was incomplete. But the hotel is situated in a quiet part of venice, how ever walking distance to all sites. Rooms very clean, and warm (as we stayed in winter) the hall was a little smelly though. finally good relation price quality.

Booked at Ai Due Leoni, but got transferred to their other hotel, hotel albergo doge. They had made a mistake in availability so I ended up w/ double room 4 single price. Hotel is clean and comfortable. Reception is kind and helpful. Breakfast could definitely be improved but doable, all you get is coffee/tea, with bread rolls and a croissant, w/ crackers on the side. Noise may be a problem for those who are sensitive to it, walls are thin and you may hear outside activity from the window. Location is good in terms of being close to the train station and bus terminal. A bit of a trek to St. Marks Sq but nothing is too far in Venice, and plus it's nice to walk to the square and to stay in a more quiet area. I would recommend this place!

I absolutely loved the Ai Due Leoni. Roberto at the front desk was exceedingly helpful, the rooms were large and comfortable, and after a day of plying the crowds that descend on Venice, it was a relief to return to the quiet quarter of town where this hotel is situated. I could have easily afforded to stay anywhere I liked, and would have looked at the grand hotels on the canal if I hadn't waited until the last minute to book. But I can't imagine I would have got more accommodation or service for the 2x to 3x I would have paid. However, we had a $300.00 iPod stolen from one of our bags when we left them with the front desk. Unlike a pick-pocket, where you aren't sure where and when you have been robbed, in this case we have a firm fix on when and where it was stolen: at the hotel. My son removed the iPod from his head and placed it inside the bag moments before surrendering the bag to Roberto. The iPod was the first thing he reached for when he received the bag back, so we know the theft happened while the bags were being guarded by the hotel. The State Department, Frommers, Let's Go and Time Out all warn travelers about the pervasive problem with theft in Italy, but when I raised this issue with the owner, he claimed that "Stealing events never have, and never will, occur in his hotel." His prideful comments aside, the facts remain: a significant theft DID occur in his hotel, and his refusal to acknowledge that theft means theft will continue to go on in his hotel. This means that as much as I loved this hotel, I cannot advise travelers to stay at the Ai Due Leoni.

We really liked the room. Our only concern was we had a very hard time finding it and it was too far from the train station to walk with our luggage. Use a boat to hall your luggage over.

Really nice accommodation in Venice and being close to a waterbus station was very convenient. The accommodation was actually 2 rooms an upstairs with 2 twin beds, and the downstairs with a sofabed which unfortunately was very uncomfortable. The only other problem was the shortage of hot water in the shower.

An excellent hotel. The only grumble would be the church bells ringing at 7:00 am but that isn't the fault of the hotel

This is the second time I have stayed at the Ai Due Lioni. It's very clean and in a lovely quite location apart from the bells at 6am. I think the breakfast could be improved upon. Hard bread rolls or croissants with jam was the only choice. yogarts and fruit would have made a nice alternative. The coffee was cold also.

We were definitely very pleasantly suprised to find such a good residence in a great area at such reasonable rates for Venice, easy to sightsee on foot or by vaporetto, and handy for great supermarket/delli's if you don't want restaurants all the time. This Hotel is a great 'find'.

This is a small guest house (6 rooms on two floors. We had a very spacious family room,(ask for Titian)which was situated near to reception/lobby area. This was not a problem to us during our visit, however, if you had other noisy guests coming in late it would inevitably disturb you. Good location (walkable from station). Would recommend.

We satisfied with staying in this hotel and would like to recommend this hotel to you. Room is clean with nice decoration. 24 hours service is much more than acceptable. We have to leave early in the morning (5:30am)to catch the train to go to other city. Instead of missing breakfast, the hotel offered breakfast boxes for us.

We had a lovely time and would definitely return. The only negative was the occasional noises while we were trying to sleep, and not much space to eat our breakfast. The causes of the noises were various. Early morning church bells and noises from the courtyard, not much the hotel can do about them I suppose. Our room was also next to the coffee making area and reception, and we were disturbed by staff conversations and coffee-making a few times while trying to sleep. Maybe people rise earlier in Venice! Overall very happy though.

I took 10 friends to Venice for my birthday and the hotel could not have been more accomodating if they had tried. The rooms were superb, the service great and location was wonderful.easy to get to from the train/bus station and 5 Minutes to the vaporetta max! Thoroughly recommend this family run hotel to anyone wanting good value and unusual venue. Nothing untoward to report whatsoever....
