Very nice hotel, quiet (during the night) and well located. We just had one or two things to complain:the maid has forgotten one day to make up the room and the breakfast service was not very efficient. Works in progress in front of the hotel from 9 am to 5 pm.

It's a very quite hotel in an area under restauration. Rooms are OK (only 6) but nobody speaks french, nobody during the day to welcome you (you have to phone) and it's quite a difficult walk with the luggage from the vaporetto station (with 2 or 3 stairs to jump). But a very close and cheap restaurant with a very good quality and ambiance (Taverna san Trovaso).

This was one of the best hotels we stayed in on our 1 month trip. This family-owned hotel is very nicely fitted out and in a good location. The hotel managers, brothers, were extremely friendly and helpful. The only slight problems were that there were no staff after hours - only contactable via an emergency mobile number, and the breakfast was adequate but not spectacular. We asked to stay an extra night and the "apartment" they provided at the same cost, was very spacious and even nicer than the room. Overall, one of the best!

We were pleasantly surprised with the high standard offered by this B&B. It was newly refurbished to a very high standard and the location was excellent. I can thoroughly recommend this B&B and it's location to anyone visiting Venice. My only comment is that the breakfast was very poor. A bit more variety and 'fresh' croissants would be good.

Toll.

We had a wonderful, although short, stay. The room and bath were large for European standards and the staff was very helpful.

My husband, adult child and I spent 3 nights at this B&B. The directions to find it were attrocious and were lucky to stumble on it, which is difficult when pulling luggage. The gentleman who greeted us was very friendly and helpful but it ended there. The room was very small by our standards with a double bed and a roll-away bed for our son made moving around the room difficult. The bathroom was very large and very clean. Unfortunately Venice is doing major construction on walkways and the view was not pleasant. Not being on a canal, there really isn't to much view of anything, but our room did have a little balcony on a back alley that was pleasant to sit on when the contstruction workers left. The breakfast each morning was just horrible. We did not expect cooked meals but at least expected more than packaged muffins and burnt rolls.

Sweet hotel with good service but way overpriced compared to others in the area. There are no facilities and the front counter only operates until 8pm at night. It is also quite hard to get to and not in the centre of things. This can also be a good thing as Venice can be very crowded. Mosquitos flew in a bit me all night - don't know where they were coming from as my window was closed.

This hotel is in a great location, very quiet and comfortable, we had the Canaletto room which has a small balcony. It was very conveneient to get to everything. The breakfast was fine and the best Cappucino I have had! The owners were welcoming and helpful and we will be going back.

Great little hotel, really enjoyed the stay. Very helpful and nice staff. We stayed for 3 days for the regata storica and loved our room (called Canaletto), even got a balcony. For breakfast we got hot dinner rolls every morning and hot chocolate for our daughter. Just 5 mins from Accademia bridge, easy to find, just take a map. Would definetly come back.

We (married couple in our 40s) just got back from 2 weeks in Italy. We spent one evening at this B&B. We found it to be very easy to find. Key is finding a good map and planning ahead. We found it no problem, like other comments, close enough to sites yet set in a neighborhood setting. Room was SUPER clean and very spacious. The breakfast was average compared to 3 other B&Bs we stayed at in Italy. But there are so many great places to have coffee and typical Italian breakfast and provides for another good excuse to go out an venture the town. I agree with the comment someone posting regarding the passports. Not sure why they have to keep them for a couple of hours; however, they did the same with us. My husband asked me to follow up w/the front desk several hours later. Also, we were greeted by a young gentleman who was very nice and offered to let us store our bags since we arrived early; however, we did not see him until we checked out the next day and dealt with someone named Monica for odds and ends we needed.

We had considerable trouble finding the Hotel when we were dropped off by the water taxi from the airport, after dark. We had heavy suitcases. We were not given adequate directions in advance. When we finally found it, it was closed with a couple of telephone numbers to call. We had a cell phone but the country codes confused us. We had to ask a local restaurant to call for us. We should have been forewarned that it would be closed and given better directions how to get there after dark. Someone did arrive promptly after we phoned. Our room was great. Very happy with it. A bit disappointed with packaged croissants for breakfast, we expected fresh ones. Overall satisfactory, except for trying to find the place on arrival. If we had known we would have phoned to have someone meet us where the water taxi docks. We hadn't been advised to do that.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is relatively easy to get to from the train and bus stations, via the 51,61 water bus. Although it is not in the heart of Venice we still found this to be a good base to explore from, with all of the sight's accessible on foot or via tha water buses.

The Ca' del Brocchi is a great home base from which to explore Venice. It is set back in a residential area, so it's quiet and a bit hard to find. It's really only a block or two behind the Guggenheim Museum. Venice of course requires a lot of walking, and there are a lot of stairs. Pack lightly!! Our room was beautiful. The bathroom was large and beautiful and clean; too bad the shower had very little pressure. A nice breakfast was served downstairs. The staffing is odd, as others have mentioned they do not have someone at the desk full time. Be prepared to arrive before 5 pm, and to surrender your passports. We were nervous that we never saw the "check-in" man again, but we were busy, out and about. Luckily, the nice lady who served breakfast (who speaks very little English) was able to return our passports to us when we asked, 2 days later. Lovely B&B overall.

It was very difficult to find the hotel and this was further complicated by construction which was going on nearby. Directions provided by the website were very limited. Once we arrived, however, we were delighted to find out that they were giving us their brand new apartment suite, instead of a triple room, for the same price quoted. Our suite included 2 bedrooms with new, spacious bathroom, entry hall, a kitchen, dining, living room and excellent air conditioning. Although the apartment was a little dark, everything was beautifully decorated with the Venetian style seen in the website photos. The hotel staff and owner were very helpful and pleasant. They even provided our son with free internet access in the lobby. Breakfast was good and was served in their small breakfast room off the lobby. Our stay there was extremely pleasant and we would highly recommend Ca' del Brocchi for anyone who wishes to stay in a 4-star hotel for 2-3 star prices!

My wife and I were fortunate enough to stay at this beautiful hotel on our honeymoon. The only gliche we faced came from trying to find the hotel; however, once we did it became a home away from home. It is well located, only 15 minutes to Piazza San Marco. The room (small apartment) that we had was very spacious. Perhaps best of all, the room had excellent air conditioning, which was definitely needed as it reached 100 degrees nearly every day of our stay. If you would like a nice, quiet, hotel away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist attractions, then stay at this hotel. You won't be disappointed.

This was our first time to Venice and we were not familiar with any of the means of transportation in the city. We had a hard time finding the hotel and several times we stopped to ask for help. The directions to the hotel could have been more clear and provided more specific details on where to go (which vaporetto stop to take) and where to go once we had to travel by foot.

Our 10th hotel stay in Venice, and one of our favourites! But we just seem to love Venice more each time. Very quiet part of Dorsoduro, 5 minutes from Accademia & practically behind the Guggenheim. Very small hotel, lovely staff ~ no ataff after 4.00pm, but provided with keys & freedom to come & go. Excellent air conditioning (July was hot!). No views but, hey, get out and walk! Simple breakfasts, but pleasant not to have crowded dining room (5 tables). We'd stay here again, for sure.

An absolute gem. A haven of peace tucked away from the throngs in Venice in July and yet with the Accademia bridge being close, walking to the major sights was not a problem. This is a very cute little B&B that you'll have to struggle to find the first time. It was a great find for us and we overlooked a nice little greenbelt. Lovely spacious, clean room in a quiet area of Venice just minutes away from the Guggenheim museum. The map of the hotel wasn't much use to us as we arrived at night and the street names were difficult to read. I would advise anyone arriving at night to get a water taxi despite the expense, we only found the place because we met another couple and asked for directions and they turned out to be staying in the same hotel. And this was after nearly an hour of wandering!! However that is not the fault of the hotel. Probably our poor sense of direction! It is a great little place if you like to be independent. Our room had a jacuzzi and a little terrace and was nicely decorated. All the major attractions were a 10-15 walk away. Would certainly stay there again if I was back in Venice and I would recommend the hotel.

The Ca'del Brocchi has taken seriously comments from previous visitors about the quality of the breakfast, and now we had freshly baked hot rolls for breakfast - much better than the stuff in packets. It is an a very quiet location, yet easily to reach both Accademia and Zattere. The main problem for any first time visitor is if you intend to arrive after 6pm the front door is locked, and you have to phone to get someone to attend to you. So make sure you have a mobile phone and you are set up to phone in Italy - as there are no public phones around. The hotel does not tell you about this in its joining instructions. Like all Venice hotels,it offers much better value out of season. It is a very pleasant place to stay. This is our second visit to Ca'del Brocchi, and would happily go back again.

This hotel is a wonderful find in Venice. The area is convenient to all the major tourist sites, but quiet and not heavily travelled. The rooms are spacious by Venetian standards, nicely decorated, and the bath was clean and well supplied. A good breakfast was served in the cozy room off the lobby. Do let the staff know your time of arrival if possible, as they are not always there in the afternoon. They came quickly when called, however and were very pleasant and helpful. We would definately stay in this hotel again.

This is a lovely gem of a hotel. Quiet, but only a few minutes walk from the main parts of Venice or the WaterBoat jetties. Rooms were lovely and even had a mini-bar. Breakfast was very pleasant but continental so for the big eaters out there, you may not have your appetite fully satisfied. Service was also very good. However, outside of standard hours there is no permanent reception staff onsite and you are required to telephone upon arrival to get them to turn up. This is fine unless the Italian Mobile Network fails and you need to find a land-line. Only a minor glitch to an otherwise wonderful stay but it is best to be aware. Still recommend this hotel its staff and its location.

This place is wonderful. We loved it!! I can't say enough about the owners and how helpful they were even though there was a bit of a language barrier. My problem as I don't speak Italian. This place is a little difficult to find as well. If you start at the Accademia bridge and turn left and follow a maze of streets go over a bridge turn left and go through an arch and when you come to a courtyard area turn left. It's about half way down on the left. If you get lost there is a wonderful butcher who will help you. As I said, very charming!!!

Very nice place. The only challenge was to find it, however, when we've got lost we called the hotel and somebody met us where we told we ended up and escorted us to the hotel. Another challenge was when a next building was being remodeled creating a lot of noise in one of the rooms that we booked - and the hotel owners offered us alternative accomodations (looked like an apartment) across the street so we ended up getting a better value than we booked (for the same price).

We loved our stay at Ca' del Brocchi; especially for the relatively low price. Our room, although quite small, was pristine and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was spotless and the shower was great. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The location was perfect; just a couple of minutes walk from the Accademia Vaporetto stop and the excellent Peggy Guggenheim collection, and about 15 minutes from St. Mark's. The one downside was that the breakfast was not great, and would perhaps be better if fresh fruit and cereals were available. All in all though an excellent small hotel and a very pleasant stay; we would stay there again if we returned to Venice.

The location is very handy yet away from the hustle of the central St. Mark's Square. Charming neighborhood with local cafes and shops. Easy walk through very interesting Dorsoduro area on the way to Rialto. Very close to must–see Peggy Guggenheim Museum and Ca' Rezzonico. The hotel was immaculately clean and well-appointed, rooms are impeccable, spacious and modern. Breakfast area and staff was comfortable but uninspired. This was our first time to Venice. The room was very large with a sitting area that could be separated by curtins. Loved this hotel and will definitely reserve for our next visit.

Despite arriving at 1am we were made very wecome at the hotel. We did need to call a phone number to summon the manager so a mobile phone was essential in this situation. The hotel is on a very quiet street which was exactly as illustrated in other reports on the Venere website. There did seem to be some renovations going on in the flat below which made mornings a little noisy. Despite being on the opposite side of the Grand Canal from Piazza San Marco it was only 10mins away by tragehetto and on foot. We would certainly use this hotel again.

The hotel was exactly as we had expected from reading the reviews on this and other web sites - quiet, nicely decorated, convenient to walk to the main sites. It was easy to find from Zaterre boat stop. It is very close to the Peggy Guggenheim museum and the Academia. It represents good value for money. The only slight negative is that the breakfast is just OK - the same each of the three days we were there. Just a little variety would have helped.

This was a lovely hotel and Nicola took great care of us! Two things to keep in mind - where ever you stay in Venice, you should find out their nearest ferry stop and exact directions as it really is a maze. The second is that the reception is closed over night and that means the phone is switched off as well. This meant we weren't able to conduct business back home (in a completely different time zone). So keep that in mind if you will have urgent business while staying. It was in a nice quiet area away from all the crowds and we just loved every minute of our stay!

I went on a tour around Italy with my boyfriend and I stayed in 4 different hotels. This one was, no doubt, the best one (altouhg I have to say this was a bit more expensive than the others). Our room was esplendid: big, really beautiful, clean, with a small balcony and a jacuzzy in the bathroom. And the boy in the reception was very helpful. I would recomend it especially to couples. Just one advice: if you want to find it easily take a good map of Venice with you (you can get some in the internet).
