I stayed in Venice just 1 day and 1 night so I decided to choose a hostel for my night. Airone hotel was a good choice for the price and for the location since our flight was quite late. The room is well-facilitated and has everything we want. However, the way to find the hotel is quite tricky for anyone who comes to Venice for the first time. Remember to ask people around you, don't trust the map. Staffs are okay for me since I didn't stay there long, quick check in and check out. Bathroom and toilet are clean. However the floor of the room is quite dirty for me. Overall, I did enjoy my stay there.

The air conditioning did not work, and 2 different desk clerks were not able to fix it. They brought a fan, but it was warm in the room. We didn't want to open the windows because of the noise outside. Since this was the only place i could get a reservation, we had no choice but to stay. We had a 7am flight out of the Venice airport and had to stay there to catch the first bus at 5am. I would only recoommend it as a last resort. If the A.C. had worked, it would have been okay.

We had a very uncomfortable stay in hotel Airone. The cleaning staff didn't make our bed properly and when we took off the cover at night it was clear the sheets had not been shaken or put back on neatly at all!! We had no option of booking breakfast with our room although there was apparently breakfast available (we had to walk through the breakfast room in the morning to the shared bathroom). There was no reception desk and we had to use the desk at a hotel nearby. You had to pay for wifi (2Euro for half an hour) and it didn't work in our room so we had to go to the nearby hotel reception to sit and use it. The 'double' bed was two very old and uncomfortable metal spring camper beds pushed together with horrible mattresses covered with double bedding and always shifted apart while sleeping which meant you ended up sleeping in-between the mattresses on metal. The windows and shutters were breaking so hard to open/close and the aircon sounded as though it was about to overheat any moment. The only interaction we had with staff was a grumpy cleaning lady and the reception staff of another hotel. I was sorely disappointed after staying in a similarly rated hotel in the centre of Rome which was incomparably better and with an en suite and breakfast for cheaper. I wouldn't recommend this hotel or go there again.

actually the Airone was closed for some unspecified reason and we were put up at the Hotel Canal next door, a better hotel. Since we were expecting the Airone, this was apleasant surprise. Room overlooked the Grand Canal!

The hotel is opposite with Venezia SMN Station, it is very closed but we had to hand carry all of our heavy luggage to walk over the bridge and it was a nightmare to my husband. Apart from this, the hotel is very central and convenient to walk around Venice.

We found the Hotel alright it was definitely easy to get to. But to check in we had to take our luggage down to another hotel and the check in and walk back to our Hotel again. We never saw any staff at our hotel at all until around 9 the next morning after we had been back down to the other Hotel to enquire about the Breakfast that came with the room.I certainly would not recommend Hotel Airone to anyone as a great place to stay, but would say that as a room to put your head down at night it was okay.

My room was oddly shaped and not very aesthetically pleasing, but looked out sideways on a nice garden next door with two huge magnolia trees and birds singing. Hotel is quiet unless fellow residents talk loudly in the central dining room. Location within about 10 minutes walking or less from the airport bus station. The 24-hour reception (and bar???) are down the street a few doors at the Canale hotel, and I'm not sure it's 24-hour: the Canale door was locked and no one was at the desk in the early AM (although I did not ring the bell), so I left my keys in the Airone room. However, the receptionist at the Canale was very helpful when I checked in to Airone.

Great hotel for the price. Small room but very easy to find. Venice is like a maze at night, so it helps to have a easy hotel to find. Our room was very fancy but small. It's good for the price. The bed is however not that great. Very old. But at least the sheets were clean. TV is very small 13". Overall, I would only stay here for 2 night and because it is cheap and easy to find.

The hotel appears to be in decline; I had the unfortunate experience of sharing a room on the same floor as a group of about 20 loud young boys / men and did not get any sleep! More concerning is the fact that a good pen 'disappeared' from my room during the day. Breakfast extremely poor! On this occassion I should have spent a few extra dollars and stayed elsewhere. (Go to Valetta for the olde world charm.)

Our stay in Venice was wonderful and the hotel was a great value for the price. Location right next to railway and bus stations was also an advantage. We had a room with no private bathroom, but the common one was always free, the shower was excellent (which is rare in Italy) and overall it was a fantastic holiday. I would really recommend Airone to my friends and family.

The hotel was very o.k, the lady (with glasses) on reception was very hospitable and lovely, but the worst part was that the internet facility at the hotel was damm expensive, i.e. 6 euros per hour, with the dead slow pc of all the time, the outdated machine, as we had to transfer snaps from our camera, and our time was lost. overall its a very ok hotel.

Location is excellent. It is just walking distance from Sta. Lucia train station. The room is spacious and the toilet is clean. My negative comments: no internet connection, the light in the room is dim, and the guy receptionist looked bored and irritated when we arrived. He said he was doing something so we need to wait before he could accommodate us in our check-in. But overall the hotel is okay. The female receptionist was kind. It is recommended for budget travelers.

The best thing about this hotel is its location. It's within 5 minutes walk from train/bus station. Major plus because there was no problem about carry luggage too far and very quick access to bus station for our early morning departure for the airport. But room had no a/c so summer must be quite impossible. In Oct the heating was on and could not be turned down or off within the room. It took 2 days to get them to turn it down.... so room very uncomfortable. Had to leave window open and got v. badly bitten by mosquitos. Not worth paying extra for breakfast, better to go out to cafe. Staff at reception were professional but certainly seemed stressed as if they were having a "bad day". The place is generally a bit run-down. But for a bed for the night it was ok.

In terms of location, no question about it. Right close to train station and canal. Downside was the bookings was for canal view and they gave us garden view with full of mosquitos....Let me tell you this hotel and hotel canal have the same owner but this one is 2 star and the other 3 star. When asked the reception at canal Hotel, she said what do u expect your hotel is 2 stars and next time you want the canal view reserve with Hotel Canal....yeah right....The room was so small that you could barely find a space to put your luggage in...overall next time around I won't go there but the only good thing was the location which I repeat...

Perfect location, and great for the price. We watched the canal traffic from our window - wonderful. No frills, but - who needs them? There are plenty of cafes and shops nearby. No real lobby, but - again, who cares? A few rooms open to the back of the hotel - not near as pleasant. (We let the kids sleep there - they didn't mind.) It's exactly what we wanted: Reasonable price for clean & comfortable accommodation in a great location. (And the description they give is accurate.)

In January I reserved two rooms (for 4 adults) in Hotel Airone for 5th June and received confirmation of the booking. Since our flight to Venice was delayed we arrived after 11pm. The receptionist told us that despite our reservation there were no rooms available for us since no credit card details had been given. I showed a copy of the reservation which stated that 'payment is to be made directly to the hotel at the end of your stay'. I also pointed out that had Hotel Airone requested my credit card details following the reservation they would have been readily supplied. The receptionist was most unhelpful and did not show the least concern about our predicament or try to find alternative accommodation or us. He then told us there was one room available. Since it was now late and since it would have been difficult to start looking for rooms in another hotel we had no option but to take the one room for which I paid by credit card. The four of shared the one relatively small room with one bed and shared bathroom facilities with other guests. I found the whole experience embarassing and wondered whether I was at fault and had omitted some step in the reservation process? However, in January we had also reserved two rooms through Venere in another hotel in Venice for a week later on 13th June in the same way as the Hotel Airone reservation. In the morning I called in person to this hotel to make sure the same problem did not arise. I was told that everything was ok with our reservation and that credit card details were not required until we checked in. In the morning we complained, without any satisfaction, to the 'day' recepionist at Hotel airone How is possible that our experience of reserving two rooms in two separate hotels in the same city through the same agency , Venere, could be so different? The only conclusion we could come to was that since we arrived late on the night in question, one of our rooms had been given to someone els

The hotel was super easy to find. Great location for arriving via train & for getting on the water taxi. The room was as described as was the shared bathroom. The room & the shared bath were very, very clean. Check in was right down the street about 30 feet & took about 15 minutes. There was no internet available in the rooms. The housemaid in the breakfast area was horribly rude - so rude, in fact, that we choose not to eat breakfast at Airone in spite of the low price. It was noisy outside our bedroom window because we faced the grand canal. Our mattress was a spring mattress - which was not the most comfortable. We chose the Airone because we were coming in on the train and leaving the next day by bus to the airport and it was perfectly positioned to avoid getting lost. It ends up we didn't even stay at the Airone. There was a sign in the window directing us to a hotel further down the street in which we ended up staying. They noted that we had asked for a view and offered us one for an additional $20 Euros which we accepted. We had a great view of the Grand Canal although the view on the other side of the canal wasn't very interesting — a building site with graffitied fences. The bathroom was wonderful and clean, the room was comfortable and again, for our purposes, the location was perfect.

I was surprised to know that this hotel has no reception. You need to go to Hotel Canal because Hotel Canal is the main hotel and I think this is an additional rooms which they have advertised as a hotel . Breakfast in Airone is not good. I would suggest people to book Hotel Canal instead of Airon. €100 a night is not cheap for a hotel like Airone. On the other hand, the room was neat and clean with air conditioning at 18.. It was really chilling as outside temperature was close to 37 degrees.. Yes is was hot outside because it was June. This hotel is very close to train and bus stand.

Would highly recomed this hotel. It is right near the bus and train station and very accessable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a room with private bathroom without any extra cost.

The hotel was convenient to the train station, with restaurants, shops, and vaporeto stops nearby, perfect for us. Such a magical place, I loved it! This was our first trip to Venice, and I hope to stay again someday.

If all you care about is crashing on the bed at night and going in to sleep mode within a few minutes, this fits the bill. For its proximity to the railway station and the convenience, its a good bargain.

Our room had been doublebooked so we were offered a cheaper room with a shared bathroom and breakfast included to compensate. As it was only one night stay it was o.k. In the morning at breakfast the staff seemed confused and had to phone to check we could have breakfast which was a little embarressing. The reception and management were in a hotel three doors away.

Place was clean. Did not look like pictures posted online. This hotel does not have reception desk, you have to go to another hotel down the way to get your key. Place was dark. However, in walking distance to train station. Clean towels were provided and be was made up every day. Shared bath was clean. This place was definately NOT worth the price though.

This was mine and my partner first holiday together, so obviously we wanted something romantic, Venice provided this in abundance. The hotel was very basic but clean. The room was cleaned daily and the towels changed daily. Only fault was air conditioning wasn't working. Looking at other hotels in Venice we decided the location of ours was easy to access from the bus station and it was very quiet and right by the canal. There are lots of nice hotels in Venice but we believe we got what we paid for and we were glad we stayed there. As most people only use the hotel for sleeping in this was just right for that purpose. If I was to return I would use this hotel again.

Cheap place to stay, didn't expect any frills or extras for the price and didn't get any. Very good location for 1st timers to Venice, easy to find, clean, secure, come and go as you please at any hour. I would stay there again.

I was so looking forward to staying at this hotel as it was a room overlooking the grand canal for our final night. However upon arrival we were directed to a hotel a few doors away and informed that Airone had electrical problems and we were booked into the Canal Hotel instead. I was very disappointed. Our room was on the third floor in an attic room - there was no lift so we had to carry our bags up a lot of stairs. Our room overlooked houses behind us and we could hear birds in the roof above us. Although we got the room for thesame price and it was supposed to be a star higher i did not think it was good. The breakfast was however substantial and much bigger and better than other italian hotels. Overall i was disappointed with being moved and our room.

There was a slight surprise as it was not mentioned here that Hotel Airone had been merged with Hotel Canal. Reception is at Hotel Canal which is located about two doors away. The room is small but clean. Though heated, there is not airconditioning if the rooms get too hot and stuffy. The great thing is the location. Right across the Grand Canal from the train station and a stone throw's away from the Piazza Romale. Excellent location of the final leg of our Italy trip.

Worst hotel I ever stayed in. In fact, not even a hotel, just a room. No bar. No reception as stated. Overpriced. Lessened my experience of Venice. Would never stay there again. I know why they make you pay for your stay in advance. You would not stay there after you saw the room.

Great place to stay. Very close to the train/bus stations. It was value for money as we had our room facing the Grand Canal and loved every moment of it. Room was cosy, neat and tidy though not very spacious.

The Hotel Airone is a perfect place to stay if you look for a budget solution. Very important for me it was clean and the staff was nice and helpfull. Breakfast was not included on my reservation but they gave me the possibility of doing it as well. Breakfast is continental but good..above all the croissants and the hot chocolate! Next time I'll come in Venice and Hotel Airone will be my choice again!!

Rooms are clean. The hotel location is perfect: close to train station, bus station (piazzale roma) and water bus stop; it is also very easy to find the way to the main attraction from the hotel. For a low cost hotel, that was a perfect choice. It was very nice to have the possibility of being completly free to come and go because we has our own keys! Good value for quality price. I will surely recommend to my friends!

We loved having a room overlooking the Grand Canal, despite the noise. The hotel is outdated and not overly well maintained. There is barely enough room to walk between the end of the bed and the wall. The bed was very old, with sagging springs and completely worn mattress. But we slept surprisingly well. Bathroom was fine, tho old and basic. On arrival we found the door unlocked as the housekeeper was taking out the laundry. That caused us to miss the note on the door directing us to another hotel a few doors away for reception. So, after hauling our luggage up the long stairway to the "first" floor, we were puzzled by the lack of any staff anywhere. Eventually we found our way to the other hotel and got a key to our room. Walls are thin, but fortunately we didn't have any loud neighbors. Breakfast consists of rolls and coffee, but pretty standard for area.

This low-cost hotel is an excellent choice for Venice. The rooms are clean and the loctation (on the Grand Canal, across from the train station and near several water taxi stops) can't be beat. Very easy to find! Finding your way to main attractions was simple with well-placed signs. We stayed 2 nights in October 07 in a double room with bath for one of the lowest prices available in Venice, and felt it was perfect for our needs. Walls are thin, though, and you can hear other people easily. Only 1 flight of stairs for all rooms. If traveling by train to Venice, this hotel is perfect!

We had high expectations based upon the small photo provided and the price. Reality however, it was not much more than a youth hostile. The bed was teribble, room very, very small and the service was not available at all.

This 'hotel' is just about OK for school/student groups, if they can afford the price. Rooms are situated on the first floor of a building, around a central space with nothing but artificial lighting. This space is used for breakfast, whilst people with no en-suite bathroom traipse through on their way to and from toilet and shower. The website gives the impression of small but bright rooms. The reality is that Airone is a dingy place which we were glad to leave. In contrast to the rest of the stay in Venice, which was wonderful.

I was pleased that the hotel was within walking distance of the free buses from the passenger ship terminal. That made getting there a breeze. There was some confusion on breakfast, however. The internet said no, the desk clerk said yes, but apparently the internet was correct

The woman who checked us in at the hotel was horrendous. She was incredibly rude and made us pay before we even saw the room. I believe on Venere, it says that we don't have to pay until we check out of the room. She treated us terribly and I am glad we only stayed there one night before our cruise. If you are looking for a welcoming hotel with great service this is NOT the hotel for you. The rooms weren't anything great, especially for the price we paid for. The shower was basically a drip and the room smelled of mildew and mold. I do not recommend this hotel.

The hotel has a perfect location, but I requested a double bed and the bed did not fit the specification requested. When we arrived the employee in the reception was very nice and help us with a situation with the air condition, but the second day the same problem happens with the air condition and the employee in the reception area was not helpful.

Airone is a great place to stay if budget accomodations are your objective. They provide the essentials. The A/C and TV worked fine and the shared bathroom was not a big deal. The location was perfect for me as I drove in and parked in one of the recommended lots. As it was my first time in Venice, I found the location to be ideal in terms of finding the place by foot. It is also located right on the grand canal. Its a decent walk to San Marco Square but Venice is best experienced by foot!

The hotel was more like a motel than a hotel. Small and not so nice rooms. Some strange smell in the room and the airconditioning was very loud. The breakfast was very good but were served in the room. The reception, at the neighbour hotel was very good and helpful! The hotel was easy to find when you arrived with train. But the price was to high for that kind of hotelroom!

Airone was a great place to stay in Venice! It's right on the Grand Canal, across the Canal from the main train station. They were willing to give us 2 separate single beds, there was never a line for the (shared) shower, and the staff was friendly. My favorite part was opening the window in the morning and seeing the 5km traffic jam of boats on the Canal! Venere's map was confusing, and we got a bit lost trying to find the hotel. I think if you ask the locals for the "Canal Grande" and the Train Station, you'll head in the right direction.

The hotel is located just near the Station S.L. and is easy to reach major scenery spots. Our room also has air-conditioning installed which exceed my expectation.
