Some of the ground floor rooms have windows onto a public alley leading past the hotel. Makes the room dark but noise was not a problem. Room clean and had modern bathroom.Usual continental breakfast was good and could be had siiting in hotel courtyard. Would use again

Small rather cosy hotel. In 12-14 minutes to Rialto bridge. In quiet place, few tourists around. Good place at all, but it seems need some renovation, especially in rooms.

Great value for Venice. The hotel location is really good - easy to find with the map on the hotel's website and the directions the owner provided prior our arrival. The rooms are clean and decent-sized. The bathroom is very modern and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is great - especially by Italian standards: good selection of pastries, yoghurts, cereals. Staff at the reception was very helpful. We were very satisfied and would definitely return.

Over all good price/quality ratio. Place is very quiet and in a nice area. San Polo is much better to stay than San Marco with the masses of tourists, but still pretty close to the main historical sites. Only major problem of the hotel: Very thin blankets on the beds and no proper heating system, so that we were freezing at night (end of March).

It is a lovely small hotel (there are only 9 rooms so be sure to book as soon as you plan your trip) in a good, peaceful and quite location, close to the Rialto Bridge. Breakfast was delicious! It was really good value for Venice and the quality of rooms and staff were well above what you would expect for a 1 star hotel. Would definitely return and recommend to all !!!

This hotel was perfect for us! We stayed at the hotel during Carnival, so we expected that we would have to pay a lot for a decent room. Hotel Acca had the cheapest room we could find, but it was also one of the nicest ones we stayed at during our time in Italy. The gentlemen at the desk was exceptionally friendly and helpful. It even came with a nice breakfast! The surrounding area was also great. It is right off Campo San Polo and we found lots of great little shops that were less touristy than the ones we stopped in elsewhere in the city. We were pleasantly surprised with Hotel Acca. I highly recommend it.

The rooms very nice, the owner great. I woudnt go in the winter though, they have no heat in the rooms. Believe it or not we had to sleep with our cloths on. It was FREEZING. Our kids had a porable heater in their room but couldnt use it because if they turned it on it would blow a fuse. They could have made it a lot nicer by offering a few more amenities like a hair dryer in the bathroom.

Our second visit to Venice, first time at this hotel. Impressively good standard hotel, nicely maintained large rooms. Difficult to find (especially because we arrived late at night). Don't stay here if you expect staff on hand 24/7. We felt like we had the place to ourselves, but it is also very secure. Good breakfast provided. Great restaurant next door. Easy walk to everything. We would definitely stay at Acca Hotel again.

Very nice and quiet hotel. Only downside was breakfast and eating area. Breakfast had limited choice and poor quality coffee served; eating area formed part of the reception area and was very cramped with little space or outloook (we skipped after the first day!)

We loved Hotel Acca, but the breakfast area (indluding tables) was too small for a "big family of 5". The lady who serves breakfast and keeps the hotel during the day was not at all nice. The owner is very pleasant, but is there only after 17hs.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel 2 years ago. On arrival at 9.30pm there was nobody there to let us in, despite having sent an e-mail giving time of arrival. The same thing happened again this time. We were admitted by another guest. I rang the owner to be told he was in a traffic jam and that the keys were the letterbox. We had to wait in the courtyard until another guest came along and opened the gate thus allowing us access to the leterbox. Our host appeared after a few days but made no further mention on this problem. We will not be staying there again.

The hotel is not like a thypical Venice's hotel, because it is clean, confortable and modern. All the details were perfects, the service, the accomodations, everything!!! and Luca, the hotel's owner was very polite, he was in the hotel the most of time, and if you need anything he's happy to help you. Spend a little bit of money and stay here!!

We really enjoyed Hotel Acca. It was in a nice location, not too busy and a short walk from St. Mark's square. The breakfast was included and the service was great. The rooms were very clean and we thoroughly enjoyed the lovely patio as a nice place to sit and enjoy wine and good company. We would recommend Hotel Acca to our friends and family in a heartbeat.

Now this place is Gold. Great location and you can walk all over Venice from here(we didnt even get lost) Best place we stayed for about 100 Euros in Europe. This is the place for couples who want romance or older couples who are after and easy access place to stay, families would also love it. The owner was a great man very helpful and assisted us greatly. Rooms were fantastic, clean and had space. Clean bathroom, spotless living room. Very fresh breakfast served by the owner with a smile. We stayed for three nights and wish we could have taken this hotel with us to show the rest ... this is how you do it Europe.

We stayed at this hotel July 4-6. As previously mentioned finding the hotel is a bit of an adventure but all is good once you get there. We arrived in Venice mid-afternoon via train and took the vaporetto to the stop nearest the hotel. We had pre-arranged a time to meet the owner, Luci, at the hotel (he’s usually only there for check-ins and breakfast) however our train was late, the vaporetto was busy and we had trouble finding the hotel, so needless to say we were at least an hour late. We arrived at the hotel to find the gate locked and figured Luci had given up waiting for us. Fortunately there was a phone number for the hotel posted on the gate which we called, Luci answered saying he was at a nearby café and would be right over. A couple minutes later he arrived and checked us in. Just a note about the walk from the vaporetto to the hotel… it is a short walk, about 5 minutes however with the numerous side streets and open plazas at every turn it can be confusing. Best to ask Luci to email you a map and to make things easier try to arrive during the daytime when streets and signs are easier to see. We were two couples traveling together so we booked two rooms at this hotel. Both rooms were clean, the bathrooms were recently updated and spotless (shampoo/soap provided). Each room had a bar fridge and we didn’t have a safe in our room but our traveling companions did. An added bonus was that the hotel was air conditioned - it was a treat to come back to a cool room after walking around outside for hours in the humid summer heat. The rooms were very quiet at night, no street noise whatsoever. The hotel is located on a quiet side street away from the main tourist areas however it’s only a short walk to all the attractions… St. Marks Square, Rialto bridge, shops. We were happy with the location and appreciated being away from the crowds of tourists. Breakfast is included with the room and is basic fare (bread, fresh croissant, cereal, coff

We were very disappointed with this hotel. We paid almost E140 per night for a very small room in a very awkward location in Venice. This was much further from the canal than we were led to believe and a very long walk with luggage. The rooms were small, and not very clean. The bathroom was so small there was no room for toiletries and we could hardly move in the shower. However, the worst thing about the hotel was the service. The host, Lucca, was very unfriendly and unhelpful. There was no one available at the hotel, except during breakfast hours. If you needed anything, even water, you could not get it. Service consisted of a cell phone number left in case of emergencies. We had to unlock the gate to get in and out of the hotel and the lights were off in the evenings so that you could not see the keyhole! We would consider this an unsafe location for women traveling alone, as the entrance is down a dark alley. We spent 3 weeks in Italy and 3 nights in Venice at Acca. The breakfasts here were the worst we had in Italy - instant coffee and horrible rolls. This was the only place we found in Italy that did not serve espresso. Since there are only about 4 tables, one morning we came down and there was nowhere to sit. We did not mind missing breakfast and went to a nearby restaurant. We have traveled all over the world and never stayed in a hotel or even a bed and breakfast that had this poor a level of staffing and service. We would not recommend this to anyone.

The Acca Hotel was a good choice in Venice. With a good location in San Polo square it stays in a foot-walking distance to any sights in the city. I didn't need to take the vaporetto at all. The hotel stay in one of the few new buildings in the city and although the room isn't very big it's confortable. The breakfest is simple but great. I only faced 2 problens while there: the AC wasn't working during 1 night and it isn't easy to find the staff at the reception during the day.

We had a brilliant stay at the Acca hotel, Lucca emailed us a couple of days before our arrival to confirm our arrival time and met us there, we received an upgrade to the junior suite for one night which was brilliant then we were in the standard room on the second night which was fine, the room was a great size, with a king bed and airconditioning worked well. Very hard to find. If my daughter was not able to check it out in the daylight we might have had to call someone to come meet us. It is really tucked away off a Campo but that is a lot of it's charm as well. Once we got to the room it really became our oasis in the midst of the hustle and bustle. We went back to the room each day for siesta and could not hear a thing. Also, it is centrally located so once there it is easy to walk to anywhere in Venice. It is especially close to the Rialto market. The bed was comfy and the air conditioning was very welcome. I would recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay there again. One of the best values in Venice.

So we arrrived at the Santa Lucia Station. We bought a 48-hr waterbus pass. We took the waterbus line 1 upto Silvistro. From there, the hotel is a 5-7 minute walk. I suggest you take a print-out of the detailed map to locate the hotel. Finally, we had found spacious rooms on our italian holiday! The rooms were quite cosy and plush. There are 2 nice cafes outside the hotel in a huge square, called Campo San Polo. The hotel is a good, safe place to stay when in Venice. The breakfast could have been better.

Small but very welcoming hotel. Well hidden, but directions good, easy to get to from waterbus. Rooms excellent, spotless and cleaned every day. Breakfast good, hours relaxed and informal. Security excellent, keys provided for room, main door and outer courtyard gate. Easy access at all times, ideal for late returns at night. Even at night, Venice struck us as a very safe place to wander around in, saw no crime, had no problems ! A number of good eating places nearby, also snack bars and superb ice cream ! Would recomend this hotel as an ideal base for a visit to Venice. Not far from the Grand Canal, but quiet and peaceful at night.

We LOVED this hotel and would highly recommend it. Luca was a fabulous host, with excellent English and very helpful. Location is great as it's so close to Campo San Polo with its thriving local activities, but really quiet. We had a lovely room, large and clean with five windows. The only downside was no internet point, but that was a minor issue.

This hotel was very accurately described and so I was well satisfied. It has a one star rating, and the flaws come with the rating. The flaws: 1) the front desk was manned only in mornings and when a guest was expected. 2) The room was small and furnished cheaply. But on the plus side: 1) the hotel is quiet and in a good location 2) the mattress is good 3) the bathroom has a big mirror and good light and every thing works well 4) everything is clean 5) there is a convenient reading light and the electrical outlets are also convenient 5) there was ample room to store clothes; shelves and hangers. It would be nice to be in a charming, lovely room, but my experience with charming, lovely rooms is that frequently the lighting and plumbing are bad and things are not so convenient. The hotelier was friendly and cooperative but in a sort of businesslike way; I didn't get any feeling of warmth from him.

We had a fantastic holiday which was made very easy by the location of the hotel and the very friendly service. The hotel is located through an alleyway which is difficult to find, but obvious if you know where you are looking!

We stayed at the Acca Hotel for 3 nights in March 2008. Although this was only a one star hotel it was very clean and the room was spacious. Luca was a pleasant host and accomodating enough to keep our luggage after our check out so that we could tour the city before our cruise in the evening.Unfortunately the internet connection did not work with our laptop. The location was very convenient (and Luca's exact directions invaluable). The local restaurants were good. For the price, it was a good base for our family of three.

Perfectly adequate accommodation in handy location. Rooms were basic but clean, quiet and comfortable. Not that difficult to find if you follow the directions provided and keep a sharp eye out. Very good value. Not so sure about Venice itself! Pizza restaurant in square very good.

Hidden treasure in the area where you can find good restaurants that have to keep there quality to survey because every turist do not find themselves to the area. I got room with five windows to three direction. the view were not good due to other buildings, but I got plenty of light to my room. For last night got very noisy habitant to next door or the walls are not very well sound proofed. OTher night no poblems

I loved my stay at this hotel. The room and bathroom were very spacious and comfortable. It wasn't a problem for me, but it may be for some people - but the queen-sized bed was actually two smaller beds put together, with queen-sized linens. I guess one complaint would be that the TV didn't have a remote, but that wasn't a big deal! The hotel is located in a little dead-end alleyway, so it was extremely quiet. My room was absolutely silent - I could hear the people in the next room come and go, but that was it. I had a room on the corner with lots of windows, which was nice. Breakfast was simple and repetitive, but yummy and filling - the warm croissants with a jam filling were delicious! It was great to have free wifi in the room - for the most part, it worked perfectly. The door/gate is locked sometimes, as there isn't always someone manning the reception, but that wasn't a problem, as you are given your own keys. The location was great for me - very central, and thus made it easy to explore all areas of Venice, both on foot and via vaporetto. About a five-seven minute walk to the nearest vaporetto (S. Silvestro); seven-ten minute walk to the Rialto. The little street with the hotel was silent, and Campo San Polo was busy but quiet, and was not touristy. It definitely seemed to be occupied more by locals. I stayed here for a week, and the Acca already began to feel like "home." I definitely plan to stay here on my next trip to Venice!

7' away from vaporetto stop on foot (no alternative access). Very helpful staff, very clean room and bathroom, stylish furniture and decoration, "family" atmosphere, but no elevator for 1st floor (even though many rooms on ground floor). ADVISE: call in advance if arriving late because reception works only till 13:00. They will be glad to assist. Minor problem in locating the hotel- inside a yard, no outside label.

Favourite hotel/location was booked up. This was reasonable alternative and satisfied our needs for a 4 night stay. Effectively a basic B&B despite title but good as such. Location is more convenient than may appear - access to Frari, Rialto, etc. easy on foot and vaporetto stop OK only for No.1.

Luca and his wife were fabulous. His coffee & stuffed crossiants exceptional. The Hotel is in a nice central location in Campo San Polo. The directions were very good just further from the boat stop than we thought. We found out on day 2 if you follow the gold signs (approx 15 high on the sides of the buildings), you can find anything. We would definately stay again.

We every much enjoyed our stay here, the only slight negative was the first room that we were put in was extremely small however when we asked there was no problem in transferring us to another bigger room next morning, but I would be worried if 2 persons had to spend time in our initial room. The positives were the kind and very helpful manager /owner he was extremely helpful and the location was very central(San Marco) and very quiet apart from the hotel gate which is a bit noisey if you are staying in one of the ground rooms. Overall we had a great stay and in terms of value for money(in Venice) it was excellent.

This is a small hotel so there isn't a staff waiting to welcome you at all times. The entrance was locked when we arrived so I pressed one of the buttons. Luca answered right away and came to meet us. The lobby is small but adequate for a small hotel. Breakfast is basic and the coffee is good. There were no disputes with price and I received exactly what was expected. I don't think I could have made a better choice for my visit to Venice. I'm already planning my next trip there and will absolutely stay in the Acca again. Hopefully there will be a room available.

Very cozy Hotel deserving way more than the 1 star rating it has ... The only reason it is rated 1* is that you actually do not have a reception all night but you get your own set of keys to the entrance and your room ! Very competent and friendly owner Only a concern if you are disabled as there is quite a distance to the canals and railway station otherwise ... An excellent choice !!

A very welcoming hotel, which was easily located using the information sent by them. The hotel is down a side street off a square and was consequently extremely quiet, away from the hustle & bustle & noise, which was excellent. Breakfast was typical continental style with lovely fresh bread! Rooms were attractive with modern en-suite bathrooms - rooms were not huge but had large beds and were perfectly sized as far as we were concerned. The owner was very helpful and spoke excellent English. We can also recommend the Pizza restaurant which is very near to the hotel on the corner!

We found our stay at the Acca Hotel was relative to the price. Venice is expensive and the hotel was what we expected for the price we paid. The room was clean and very quiet, the carpet and curtains looked new but the furniture was very old. Breakfast was not very inspiring even by continental standards and not really worth getting out of bed for. However, it is in a great location within easy walking distance of the Rialto Bridge and all the major sights and it also has a really good pizzeria right next door.

The room was a nice size, but was not clean. The bedspread was stained; there were mold stains on the walls in the bathroom and the floor was not clean. The shower was also dirty and did not drain well. There was construction going on all around the hotel, so it was noisy but would have been quiet otherwise. The staff was ok; they let us leave our bags in the lobby early.

The Acca Hotel is a very good hotel, especially for the rate and given the location. It's just off of a nice campo with an excellent pizza place around the corner. While quiet, it's just a short walk to the Rialto bridge and not too far from the S. Silvestro Vaporetto stop. I'd stay here again!

We stayed 4 nights at the Acca from 8th to 12 Feb 2007, and the hotel lived up to the reviews. Its in an excellent position, quiet, yet only 5 mins walk from Rialto bridge, and 5 mins walk from the No.1 vaporetto stop - the No. 1 stops at all stops along the grand canal. Small, quiet and very comfortable the Acca was an ideal base from which to explore this amazing city. Nearby we would recommend the Osteria Vivaldi and Da Sando restaurants for excellent quality and good value food - less than 5 mins walk along C. Di Mezzo - the main shopping street going towards Rialto Bridge. Also very close by is the Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Friari Church and the spectacularly awesome Scuola Grande di San Rocco - the artwork in which is truly breathtaking - dont be put of by the dimly lit ground floor, the first floor is mind blowing - a real must see !!! Try the Acca - we did and enjoyed our stay immensely.

The hotel was clean and attractive. The location was good, but not as convenient to the Grand Canal as I would have liked. Directions provided were very poor. We spent at least an hour trying to find the hotel. The street is not on any map and none of the local shopkeepers are familiar with it. Get good directions: once you reach Campo San Polo, cross to the far side of the open area and go down a dark, narrow street (Calle Pezzaana). The hotel is on the left. It has a nice courtyard with tables to eat breakfast outdoors. There is a place on the way to the vaporetta stop that is good for dinner. Look for wooden tables with benches out front. There are also shops nearby and you can walk to the Rilto bridge and produce markets in less than 10 minuets.

The Acca hotel is a small family run hotel which feels like home. We did have some problems finding the problem through the narrow lanes of venice. The room we were put up was spacious, also the bathroom was clean and spacious. There was also a mini fridge in our room. Breakfast was good with the regular croissant, cereals, juices and some good coffee. we paid 135 euros per night which was reasonable compared to other cities in europe. We will surely like to stay here if we come back to venice.
