Family run hotel in the backstreets of Varazze, but well sign posted. Close to railway station, so trains could disturb your sleep in the early morning. Small, but well maintained pool area. Adequate parking spaces. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We reserved a triple room which turned out being a double room with a folding bed added. (This was the rule throughout our stay in Italy) The breakfast for 10 Euro was hugely overpriced for a meager meal of limited choices. Room prices were high compared with other small city prices in Italy, but the staff was outstandingly helpful and welcoming, especially Max. Overall, it was our best hotel experience in Italy.

We stayed one night on our way back home from Corsica. A good and service oriented place. Rooms were small, but with good beds and large luxurious bathroom. Nice swimming pool and terrace in front of hotel. Private parking possible for 5 Euro. OK breakfast buffet (lots of sweets), unfortunately not served on terrace outside. Varazze is not my idea of a nice place in Italy, so good for one night.

Overall a very nice hotel with excellent services. Lot of building works in immediate vicinity - so noisy at present. Very attentive and friendly staff. Would liked to have stayed longer as the surrounding area looked very pleasant. The directions, however, were confusing and inadequate especially for a night arrival.

The surroundings of the hotel (near the railway station) are not very nice. In addition, we consider that the price is a bit high as the breakfast in not included.

The staff was very friendy and helpful. Although, the majority of their clients are European, I was made to feel very welcome. The food was excellent. Varazee is a beautiful little town with gorgeous views of the Mediterranean. There are many shops and and side streets and areas to take long walks. I stayed during the Winter Olympics in Febuary. A jacket was required during the evening. I bet that during the summer, with warmer temps, this town is a perfect romantic escape.

The room was quite spacious, but unfortunately was located on the corner of the building which is set upon a hilly route seemingly very popular with motorcyclists. All night long we heard the motorcycles coming down the hill, slowing at the corner and then accelerating again. With both sets of windows open a bit to get some air movement, it was hard to sleep with the traffic noise. Too many rules for our liking - signs posted all over the hotel indicating no food or drink allowed to be brought into the rooms. Also, when we arrived we were directed to a parking area about a block from the hotel, but the clerk failed to give us the necessary parking pass which meant another trip to the car at the end of a long day. Internet map directions need to be improved upon as we found the hotel hard to locate despite signs in town.

This is a very nice hotel, calm, clean, having own pool. Bathroom is excellent. There is air conditioning, although no frige. Staff is friendly. At extra 5 euro per day there is small parking place. I would definitely consider to stay here next time, although worth to mention that - the hotel doesn't have private beach and public beach is far away and not so good - it might be a problem to stay on other private beach: they may not let you enter or will ask to pay a lot - breakfast in the hotel is very basic and tables were dirty - we didn't know that breakfast is not included and eventually were asked to pay 8 euro per person, which I wouldn't pay if I knew in advance the quality of the breakfast

I know very well the italian hotel trade. Coccodrillo is a middle-high category hotel and it offers services above the average. The restaurant also offers a good cooking and the staff is superlative. The rooms are tidy and clean and the price is fair, too. The service of conveyance from Genova airport and to the cruises terminal "Costa Crociere" is excellent. I'm very glad to recommend this hotel.

This was our third stop in Italy, and we were not pleased. This hotel seems tobe geared toward (very) budget mineded tourist, and it shows. The room was fairly clean, but the bathroom was tiny. Not good for someone with a child. Also, they charged an excessive amount for a baby crib (15 Euros/day), in addition to what they quoted. None of the other hotels during our stay did that. Parking a car could be a problem too (not enough room around the hotel and they also wanted to charge for parking!!). Hotel is close to the beach but don't expect a view of it from your window. We do not recommend this hotel.

Food very good and surroundings pleasant but the best asset of this hotel is the staff. I have never before stayed in a hotel, and I have stayed in many, where the staff were so unfailingly friendly, helpful and efficient. A real credit to the owners.
