We arrived late to the hotel, at around 1am. The hotel stuff put us on the first floor, in the room that's right across the reception area. The wall is quite thin, so for the several days we stayed there, the phone at the reception area would ring repeatedly at late, and we could hear customers walking up and down the staircase early morning or hotel staff chatting at the reception area at night. Other than that, the room itself is very clean and filled with unique vintage furniture. The bed is very comfortable.

The outside looks pretty shabby. The staff was not exactly warm and welcoming but the rom was very nice and the bed, fan and robe were fantastic! We woudl definitely stay there again.

My friend and I shared a double room with ensuite bath. The room was spacious with a sitting room. Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel has very easy access to many of Vancouver's tourist attractions.

I have to say that I had high expectations about this hotel, and they were not entirely met. Positive aspects: The hotel is very conveniently located in downtown Vancouver, the place has charm, the room was clean and had a very nice smell (loved the crisp white bed linens and the bathrobes). The not so positive: we got a room in the ground floor with view to the parking lot, and all types of noise could be heard (the chatty girl at the evening reception, the guests having breakfast, people walking upstairs and, the worst, a truck collecting garbage at 6 a.m. directly outside of our window). The breakfast is extremely basic and the room where it's served is tiny. A final detail that contributed to give me a not so positive impression: the toilet paper holder in our bathroom was broken, and the "solution" somebody found to the problem was to put the toilet paper roll in the hand towel holder. It's just a little thing, but sometimes these details are what make a difference between a good and a bad rating, especially for a hotel that is not particularly cheap.

I totally enjoyed my stay at Hotel Victorian. The room was comfortable, clean, and attractive; the staff very helpful and friendly; the breakfast just fine. The location was excellent. I walked several times to Gastown and Yaletown and getting around by the on/off bus was convenient. I would recommend this small hotel as a very reasonable and delightful choice.

We were very pleased with the Victorisn Hotel. It was very nicely decorated, clean, very comfortable bed, good morning breakfast, and a great place to practice your French! It's located near Subway stations and bus stops, and provides good access to everything. Two car rental firms are close by, as are good restaurants. I highly recommend it.

What a charming place! My wife was hesitant in the beginning about the shared bath being down the hall, but then we realized it's no farther than where our bathroom is from our living room. The room was always kept tidy, sheets and towels were always very clean--even in the shared bathrooms! The staff was excellent (there was one woman in particular that was most knowledgeable and her name was Sascha from Nova Scotia). The Victorian hotel was right in-between Yaletown and Gastown, so it was always so easy to find someplace to eat or buy something. I would most definitely stay at this hotel again.

The speed of internet connection (promised high) was actually very low. Forniture was actually not "victorian", but simply old. Noise insulation between rooms does not exist. Nevertheless the hotel provides the opportunity of a pleasant "old fashion" stay in the very central Vancouver.

We were asked to pay an extra charge for the 3rd person sharing the room. This was not indicated anywhere when we booked. Location is fine, even if neighbouring a quite degraded town area.

This is a charming place. The neighborhood appears a bit marginal; but it is safe. The staff is friendly and courteous. It is a great value for the money in downtown Vancouver. I would highly recommend it.

The Victorian Hotel is an older hotel, but the rooms were clean & cute. They have down comforters & cheap gated parking. The hotel is located in Gas Town, next to tons of bars. It's also within walking distance to Yaletown & Robson Area & the Vancouver Gallery. For $70 bucks, I would definetely stay again.

This was my first visit to Vancouver and this hotel and I would certainly be very happy to stay there again. The staff were very welcoming and more than helpfull from the moment I walked in to when I left. The rooms were clean and tidy. A bonus I felt was having free internet access when I needed it. Only a couple of blocks away from 'downtown' Vancouver and about a 40mins walk from Stanley Park for those who dont mind walking. Very pleased with my stay there

I would strongly recommend this hotel for those who want a clean, comfortable, and friendly environment. It is small enough for the staff to be personable. It is clean and has a homey feel, with furnishings that suit the older building. I booked it initially because it was such a bargain, (60$ /night with bath down the hall) but it was not a flop house. It had more than one bath down the hall and a sink in the room. I would definately stay here again. It was like a european pension.
