Vincci Lys was a nice hotel... clean, neat, modern, large rooms by most any standard (but especially by European standards), with nice linens but lousy pillows. WIFI was not included and expensive which sucks. Parking was available under hotel but was very expensive, about 2.50E per hour. Breakfast was not included but for 9E, they put out a really nice selection of food, including scrambled eggs, bacon, a variety of pastries, cheeses and cold meats, fruit, and more, all in a nice clean dining area. We took advantage of the breakfast buffet twice. Reception staff spoke passable English but were a bit cold. The light on my side of the bed was out, which I use because I read at night. It was not repaired despite repeated requests to do so. Nice area and close to train station, but not really close to much else so plan on walking a lot. Beach was beautiful but a good 30 to 40 minute walk. Museum area was also a long walk and admission to them was very expensive, For example, the Aquarium was 28E per person so we just walked around the park area surrounding the museum buildings. Metro was a couple blocks away but costs nearly 3E per ride. I would stay there again, but would also look around and see what was available before booking. Complimentary newspapers provided but none in English.

One should try to get a room looking to the street - the back ones are smaller and look directly on a wall with a somewhat noisy air-conditioning. However, the rooms are acceptable and the hotel has an almost ideal location for a stay in Valencia.

Excellent stay and excellent surrounding, near to the city centre and to the underground (xativa). Only two remarks: breakfast really expensive and no free WIFI. For breakfast and restaurant no problems since the Restaurant "Carpe Diem" have a delicious menu and friendly entourage. Hotel sincerely recommended.

I stayed 5 nights in the hotel. Rooms are absolutely remarquable, big, clean and welcome. Beautiful classy decorations. Still the quality of mattress is poor, really need to be enhanced. The hotel street is a lit bit noisy, but it does not really bother bcs of the general very welcome atmosphere of the city and music on the street

An excellent place to stay to see the old town of Valencia. We would have liked a better view from our room, but perhaps this is unrealistic for a City Centre Hotel. Plenty of local bars and restaurants and people were very friendly.

We stayed four days in Valencia for city type vacation early April 2010. Location of the hotel is excellent for visiting the main interest points in the city and only few steps from the main railway station and other public transportation. The hotel staff is very helpfull and everything runs smoothly as expected in this price category. Also the breakfast is worth of value ( 12 + 6 EUR for two people in our case. I warmly recommend the hotel for everyone visiting Valencia and vanted to stay in central point of old city center.

Excellent location in the city centre about 20 mins in a taxi from the airport. It's less than 5 mins away from the metro, main train staion and the bullring. There is a nice restuarant directly outside the hotel and numerous others in the immediate area. The shops are also less than 5 minutes away.

The hotel is wonderful, people at the reception were very kind and helpful. The room was big and comfortable! We could easly walk to the city centre(about 10 minutes) but you can find very good restaurants already outside the hotel (I mean just outside!) and the surroundings are beautiful!

The location of this hotel is excellent, we had a double room which was at the back of the hotel so no view but it was so quiet. As the hotel is in a precinct area, as you walked out of the hotel you could walk straight into cafe restaurants which were excellent. We did not eat at the hotel. Certainly would stay again.

Thanks to all the reviews from previous guests, we chose this hotel, so there were no suprises. The staff were very discreet and in the background. This was alright for us because we don’t like to be bothered during our stay, although they were helpful when we did ask for information. We did not take the overpriced breakfast as advised and as indicated there are alot of places to eat nearby the hotel. The room is not carpeted and therefore a bit noisy as other reviews mentioned (noise from heels above us). But we were so tired from our walks it was ok. The hotel is very central and there is a metro nearby that goes to and from the airport. We were very happy with our stay.

I really like this hotel. Our room was a decent size, very private and nicely furnished. Its location is fabulously central. The only draw back is that the breakfast and cost to park a car soon bump up the price, and £16 for a breakfast is a lot.

The room was like new with beautiful furniture and really good equipment. One of the things I really liked was the really powerful hairdryer. The staff were very helpful and gave us good advice about how to get about. The location was good as well, near to the station but unlike some cities the area around the station was beautiful. The only (small) problem was although any noise from the street was completely cut out, there was noise from the adjoining rooms which could have been a nuisance for light sleepers. Otherwise perfect.

We stayed at Vincci Lys for one week and found this hotel excellent for the rate. There is a restaurant that offers a wide variety of tapas at very reasonable rates, right by Xativa metro-station beside MacDonald. The final charge we paid was slightly higher than what was quoted by through Venere and I don't know why. I realized the difference after I left the hotel.

It was a fine hotel for a January visit at ca. €100 euro per night for the room in a decent location near the Main railway station. The breakfast is pricey and we only ate there once. There is an excellent restaurant across the street for evening meals called the 'Don Juan'.

We fancied a weekend away before staying at home for Christmas. We chose this hotel as it was centrally located and seemed to be reasonable quality. The hotel was very nice. The room was very large and well appointed. The staff were very attentive. Valencia is a lovely city and we had a great weekend. One thing the hotel could look to improve is the bar. It was deserted all the time we were there. Perhaps if they make an effort to make it more inviting, guests would stay in for a drink or have a night cap.

The hotel was as expected for a fairly run of the mill but pleasant and well located hotel.Breakfast was the usual familiar mix with good juice and poor coffee. When we arrived late however and looked nearby for a meal we happened on a restaurant just round to the right of the hotel with tables on the street where I had probably the worst meal of my life.Undercooked ,cold chips swimming in oil with a piece of half cooked chicken.I sent it back to be cooked and it came back just the same but colder. We were even charged for bread that we had not had.We should have refused to pay but it was the first night and we were tired so it was 30 euros wasted and a bad first immpression .The Tapas bar opposite was useful and quite good especially when the rain poured down.We had a lovely meal at the interesting Modern Art museum -real cooking, nicely served and cheap !

I enjoyed my stay here, the room was cosy and pretty, in a perfect location with friendly staff.Although the rooms are not sound proof as i could hear people at 7am in the morning walking around above us(obviously in high heals!)that was a bit annoying. The fact that you needed to pay for the spa facilites in a four star hotel is very unusal and disappointing. Also to note that there is no iron available for customers which is only a basic requirement for any traveller and is normally facilitated in most hotels around the world but not here! Other than those small hick ups i would recommend staying here for its modern and comfortable rooms with a great location. Claire Dublin

We had booked for 4 nights and requested a non-smoking room and were delighted to find we had been allocated a suite on the 1st floor. The rooms were excellent and we enjoyed the location, being in the centre of the old city amid the tourist area and all the restaurants. We had a car so used the parking facility which was probably a bit expensive. We would recommend this hotel as excellent value with very friendly staff, particularly in the restaurant. Couldn't understand an earlier comment about no milk at breakfast as we were given a jug of warm milk with the coffee at breakfast that was ample for the cereal too.

Not very good value for money - no tea making facilities in the room. The staff (not reception) were not very customer focused. The breakfast was a rip off. No milk was provided for cereals or tea/coffee. The cleaners/house keeper even reported we had used the mini bar so when we checked out we were presented with these additional charges. I was furious - beware they will try this one on everyone even people like us who did not use the mini-bar.

My partner and I got into Vinccy Lys at 2am on a Saturday, somewhat jaded but all was made fine by the prompt check-in which was no more than a couple of minutes. The price for the hotel taking into account of location, quality and service was first class, and also taking into account it was just the start of the fallas, booking was a doddle. On our last day on Sunday, we were both in double trouble as thieves had managed to pick-pocket both of us at more or less the same time (word of caution, around the fallas period the police station is rammed with souls like ourselves), the staff were excellent in dealing with the matter, considering we had already checked out. Thank you for making an exciting stay also a pleasurable one. Hats off to Vinccy Lys.

This hotel was very nice. We asked for a non-smoking room, but the room was very smokey. The location is hard to find, but once you find it, it is a great location. We ordered room service, and the food was good and came quickly. Parking is not included, but is available under the hotel. Valencia is a ton of one way streets, and the hotel is on the end of a dead-end street.
