ottimo Hotel, stanza grande e ben curata. oltre al costoso buffet per colazione c'è la possibilità di più semplice ed economica colazione al bar interno. nulla da segnalare di negativo tranne 2 cose: 1) la posizione dell'hotel è intermedia dai principali luoghi di visita ma vicinissima a nessuno di questi, quindi informatevi sui trasporti prima di partire perchè il personale dell'hotel, sempre molto cortese, non è per niente preparato su questo. per il centro città io vi consiglio la Fermata Aragon della Metro (e non la Amistat più lontana e in una zona più degradata) e come linee degli autobus la 10 diurna e la 1 notturna (dalle 22.00 circa); tutte e 3 hanno fermate nella grande arteria Av.Aragon a 200-300 metri dall'Hotel. la città della Scienza è a 10 minuti a piedi quindi il mezzo più rapido sono le gambe... 2) l'altra nota che per noi (non fumatori) ha pesato abbastanza è il fatto che nella stanza c'era, e c'è stata fino alla fine, una certa puzza da fumo e alla nostra richiesta di cambiare stanza ci è stato risposto che tanto era inutile perchè non hanno stanze non fumatori; questo abbassa molto i punti di un hotel di questo livello... in tutti i casi penso che ci tornerei volentieri. penso sia difficile trovare altri alberghi con un rapporto QUALITA'/PREZZO così favorevole. su questo segnalo che io ho pagato esattamente quanto indicato su venere.com BUON VIAGGIO A TUTTI

Very impressed with the hotel. Our room was large and the cot that we had requested arrived within 5 mins of arriving in the room. The bed was massive, and the bathroom luxuriously appointed. The breakfast (which was served till 10.30!) was great, with loads of choice of hot and cold items, and always lots left. The staff were all very courteous, and particularly Sara who served breakfast made such a fuss of our 20 month old daughter, it made it a very pleasant stay. The location was brilliant, and it made getting around easy, especially as the buses are so good in Valencia. Overall, it was a pleasure to stay at the Silken Puerta Valancia and I have already recommended it to others.

een mooi en goed hotel om te verblijven. Redelijk goed gelegen en vrij centraal voor alles wat men in Valencia wil bezoeken. Het is niet nodig om een hotel in het centrum te reserveren. The room was very confortable and spacious for the price and so excellent value for money. The breakfast appeared expensive so we used a local supermarket. The hotel is well placed to walk to the old town and the new arts and science centre. The walk to the beach takes 30 at least minutes but there is public transport.

I had requested a room with double bed when booking, but ended up with a twin room. Also asked if I can have a room on a higher floor to avoid traffic noises from the mainroad, but the check-in staff wasn't interested to help at all (she answered me by shaking her head and said no....no....!!). Apart from these 2 points, my stay at this hotel was good overall.

The hotel is beautiful. It is a small walk to the main train station and with a map it is quite easy to find. The rooms were quite nice. Breakfast isnot included in the price although for a small charge they have quite the spread for a higher end continental breakfast. The room is fairly quiet if you keep the windows closed. Traffic is quite loud otherwise. We would not have opened the window had the air conditioning worked though we visited in November which had unusually warm weather. Would stay again.

Room, Breakfast and service was very good. But we had one dinner in the restaurant and that was VERY poor. It was a steak and it was the worst restaurant meal I've ever tasted. The meat was very tough and un-eatable. We regretted that we had not gone for sea food which we anticipated would have been better.

Very impressive good quality Modern hotel. Great if you are on a Biz trip. Supermarket to the right of the hotel. Internet Shop across the road @EURO1 per hour. Location can be better: 6 mins walk (~500m) to Metro. Walking to the historic city takes 45 mins. In future, I would probably choose a location closer to the city.

Stylish hotel with a nice bar, clean room with modern interior, excellent, nicely designed spacious bathroom with a full-lenght bath. Friendly & helpful staff.It's on a good location, about a 15 min. walk from the old town - 30 m. from the hotel is the extremely cheap Prens Cafe which serves excellent espresso & croissants if you [like me] are not interested in a full buffet-breakfast. We didn't try the hotel restaurant, though the menu looked enticing. The nearby Pizza Roma (Paseo de la Alameda) is a very good italian restaurant, excellent food & wine,extremely reasonably priced. All in all a very pleasant stay, Valencia is nice city (I like it more than Barcelona), the old town as well as the City of Arts & Sciences with the absolutely gorgeous Calatrava architecture - which in itself is reason enough to visit Valencia. So go !

Very pleasant hotel, it's the second time we stay here and it's good as always. A mix between style and 4 stars service. The only negative is that we found a rude employee at the bar which refused to give us dinner ten minutes before closing. It's not because this (kitchen has right to close) but how he said it. However, overall stay was good.

Il rapporto qualità-prezzo è ottimo. L'unico piccolo neo è che non è vicino al centro, e neanche alle spiagge.

Excellent modern corporate-type hotel on busy modern street. For an overnight stop while driving through Valencia it was excellent. It was difficult to park outside during peak hour, however when we came back to the hotel in the evening we were able to park (free) overnight directly outside, as we were departing before parking regulations started. The staff explained clearly, which saved us paying for parking. If we had been staying longer I would have selected a hotel either near the old city, or in a more suburban area.

For the price, the room was amazing. The decor was beautiful and stylish, while the size of the room and bath were incredibly spacious by European standards. The hotel staff was one of the most helpful and friendly staffs that I've ever delt with on any of my trips to Europe. The hotel is in a newly developing part of the city, so restaurants and proximty to the old town, may not be as close as you desire. (The hotel does have an excellent lobby restaurant. I recommend.) Overall, I had a wonderful experience. Really a great value.

I stayed for 2nights in Valencia. At my arrival, the system was not working, so I could not do the check in. The woman at the reception was not very friendly at that moment. I had to wait at the bar. Later on service was more friendly. Bathroom was really great, room was very nice.

Silken Puerta is a fantastic hotel: clean, cool atmosphere,, spacious non-smoking rooms, a wonderful restaurant,splendid multilingual staff. Only 15-20 min on foot from the historic centre, it's perfect for a stay during Las Fallas, when no buses run! The metro is nearby and takes you straight to the airport. We recommend this hotel 100%!

The Hotel was excellent, a real "design hotel", and we paid only 70 € for a double room. In the neighbourhood I haven't seen restaurants or tapas bars, but the position is strategic, near to the "Ciudad de las artes y la ciencia" and to the subway station- the same line to the center and to the airport. The breakfast is good but very expensive (14 €).

we went to the Las Fallas festival to experience some culture and in general a different type of holiday. We found the Hotel Silken Puerta Valencia accessible within 10 min from the city centre. OK location in the suburbs. What a fabulous experience! The hotel was a perfect location for us as we needed a place near our conference location, accessible to old Valencia, and accessible to the Arts and Science Center. The great bonus for our daughter was that it was just a few blocks from Gulliver (the great climbing attraction for kids in the Turia riverbed park). But above all, the staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. And the accommodations could not have been better. As a bonus, the hotel offered free internet access in the rooms, and parking was free. (We were expecting to have to pay 11 Euros per day.) The ONLY drawback was access to a variety of restaurants. (Also, Venere could use better directions to the hotel for those coming by car. Mapquest gave us the details we needed.)

The hotel is as good as other people described. Though it is located in a quiet area, the hotel is close to the main street.And the city centre is in walk distance. Staff at reception are pleasant and helpful. My only problem is that my room was close to the lifts.It became noisy around midnight.But it wasn't too bad afterwards. In general, the hotel is excellent and good value for money. I would like to stay in it again if come back Valencia.

PERFECT!!! I can really recommend staying there. The most impressed I was by its wonderful puristic design. The room itself was quiet, clean, and the hotel is within walking distance to all major attractions. The price was with 69 per night more than just reasonable - I have payed the double price for hotel romms that weren't even half as good. So whenever I return to Spain - and certainly Valencia - the Hotel Silken Puerta will be my first and only choice!

The language skills of some of the staff members even from the reception were very poor. The breakfast times were explained incorrectly. The needed help after we had checked out from the hotel as we forgot our passports and in 2 hours they didn't manage to check the room. Only when we came back to the hotel we got them to give us a key and check the room for ourselves. The hotel itself was beautiful however the area was dead with hardly any restaurants. This should have been mentioned. However the metro is very close and a taxi to the city center inexpensive. Ten of us were spending a weekend in Valencia to celebrate my husband's birthday. Valencia was perfect. Easy to get to, great weather (this was the first weekend in February), fabulous architecture, shopping, beaches, bars and restaurants. The Silken Puerta Valencia was the ideal base. It's a good quality 4* hotel at 2* prices. Visit Valencia and the hotel soon. They won't stay a secret for long.

Stayed here 7/9/07 for one night. Room 318. Paid 60 Euro prpn room only. The drawback of this hotel and the city was that our schedule only allowed us to stay here for one night! We were expecting a small room of modern design - we were paying only 60 Euro, but were amazed to get a huge room which was just stunning. Immaculate modern decor; all the furniture, decor and facilities were modern and in pristine condition, as was the bathroom, with numerous extras which you would normally get only in a really expensive hotel. Add to this the very pleasant and efficient and helpful staff, who all spoke English well. We did not use the restaurant. Even if, like us, you normally prefer old hotels with character, it would be difficult to not be impressed by this hotel. This was our favourite hotel in our four week trip, but also almost the cheapest. However, the prices do vary by night and when you book, it was more expensive for anyone coming unbooked on the nights we were there. The only drawback is the location. Central Valencia is about four miles inland. Most hotels are either in the city centre or on the seafront. This one is halfway between the two, so neither one place or the other. We walked into the city twice, it takes about 45 minutes to the old city, which is quite a way and time consuming. The hotel is 10 minutes from an underground station or close to a main road with buses. This was our first visit to Valencia. We stayed just one night to get the ferry to Ibiza, but wished we were here longer. It is a large city with an extensive attractive old part, with numerous buildings of architectural interest, and has a vibrant atmosphere. It has the feel of a lived in Spanish city rather than the tourist centre which Barcelona has become. You would need at least a few days to see the city, and longer to make use of the beaches as well.

Really excellent value. Location pretty good. Round the corner from the Football ground and the Turia gardens. Well placed for the City of Arts and Sciences. A bit away from the Old Town but a very nice walk through the gardens to get there - around 25 minutes? The actual area the Hotel is in is pretty dead at night, although it's only a ten minute walk over the main road by the gardens to a lively night spot (ask at the desk). Didn't bother with breakfast or eating in the hotel, so can't comment on the food.Staff spoke good English and were helpful. Nice rooms, great Bathrooms (bath could be bigger..minor niggle)and best of all,( a real bug-bear for me in hotels) , curtains with zero light pollution. If you want to base your trip around the old town and don't like walking - this may be a bit too far from the centre for you. If however you want to sample a variety of Valencias delights and enjoy strolling around cities looking at the architecture ( of which Valencia has an abundence of fine examples)it's pretty much perfectly located.

It's a pity that there are not so many restaurants in the neigbourhood of Silken. On Sunday all restaurants are closed so you have to go to the center of Valencia (quite a distance by metro). In the hotel there was no information available about using metro, surroundings etc. It's more a business hotel.

The Hotel Silken Puerta Valencia was fantastic. Five minutes walk from bus and metro stops - both of which can take you to the beach, Centro Historico etc., and 15 minutes walk from the City of Arts & Sciences - perfectly located! The staff were very kind and helpful, helping us with directions and travel arrangements to places outside the city. Rooms which were cleaned everyday, were extremely comfortable. The only thing the hotel lacks is a swimming pool, but with the beach only a bus ride away, we didn't miss it. We have nothing but good things to say about our stay in this hotel!

This is the most beautiful hotel I never see. Room was very spacious with also 2 armchairs and a table, and I had a very big double bed! In 5 minute you arrive at metro station,that arrive directly to city center (only 2 stops) and directly to the airport or directly to the beach!There are also many bus stops near the hotel. By foot you can arrive at "Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencians" and Football Stadium "Mestalla".

A beautiful hotel with very helpful staff. My luggage was delayed from London and they rang for me to follow up arrival in Valencia and delivery to the hotel for me. The room was huge and very comfortable. I was sorry to have to leave!

Ottimo hotel. Doppia a 60 euro a notte, la camera è molto bella e il letto è enorme. L'hotel è abbastanza vicino al centro (15-20 min a piedi)e vicino alla fermata del bus per la spiaggia. E' moltocomodo anche per visitare la Ciudad della Scienza.

In general really excellent and for the rate (60 Eur) it can suffer some defaults: 2 to mention : acoustic isolation between rooms not perfect (could distinctly hear noise from the adjacent room) + nice design sink in the bathroom but useless due to a wedged stopper. But two (little) problems: 1) one time there were no hot water, and at the receptionist don't say what to do, it's Sunday! 2) every morning at about 9 o'clock a young woman of hotel's staff knock at your room's door, OPEN YOUR DOOR to know if there is somebody inside, then close the door and go away. You must use "Do not disturb" panel.

The Silken Puerta Valencia hotel exceeded our expectations. We received what must have been an upgrade to an "executive" room which was clean and spacious and peaceful. Also, all of the amenities -- from toiletries to bathrobes to slippers to internet -- were provided to us. The hotel staff were friendly and courteous and answered every one of our questons. We were fortunate to have had the best accommodations for the most reasonable price! We would recommend this hotel to any of our friends.

Very nice, modern hotel a good forty minutes by foot from the center, so best if you visit with a car or on business. True, that the Silken is closer to the beach and the new science museum than other hotels, but the center is where you'll spend a great deal of time. Walls between rooms are alarmingly thin, but the cutting edge design shampoos and bath gels provided make up for it....Seriously, we changed hotels after two nights to be in the center, since the long walk cut into our evenings. Tourists should be aware that there are plenty of low cost, decent hotels (two stars, but perfectly adequate) in the center, which make visiting the city easier. The three and four star hotels in the center will cost more than the Silken, however.

Great modern hotel. Price vs quality is excellent. Only downside would be the location of the hotel to the old centre. However, location to the port/america's cup village and Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias is good. Also if you were travelling with a car this would not be a problem. The hotel has secure parking onsite (at an additional charge). We did not eat at the restaurant so can not comment.

Very nice hotel and very good style. Good breakfast, perfect relationship between price/quality, quite near the center. If we come back to Valencia, we'll stay in this hotel again. ps. only newspapers about sport... and only in spanish...

Very modern hotel which stands out from other buildings on the street. Excellently located, a short bus ride to the gorgeous beach and city centre. Staff spoke brilliant english and were only to happy to help! Rooms are spacious and clean and fully stocked with neccessities! Great for short business stays, families and young trendy people! If you go you MUST visit the new arts and science centres a short walk from the hotel!! Definately recommend this hotel!!

I stayed in Valencia for 2 nights. The hotel is very beautiful!! I've spent only 60,00€ for me and my girlfriend for one night!

I thought the breakfast was included, and the front desk did not also indicate that the breakfast was not included. Consequently, during the check out, we were charged. I thought it was so unfair to my friend and I. It was a very bad experience indeed.

Lovely hotel but our room had a sunken bath and the tiles on the steps were a dangerous slipping hazard when even the slightest bit wet. There is an excellent Chinese restaurant out of the hotel turn left on the opposite side of the road about 100 metres. Meal for two with wine (3 courses) = 22 euros.
