Hotel Las Arenas - Valencia

We have stayed 4 times. One of our favourites.

Reception staff are VERY unfriendly. 5 behind desk on arrival, not one smile.Given 2 wrong bills checking out, they tried to charge for minibar even though part of reservation package. No apologies from either receptionist. Overall, hotel VERY quiet,stiff and formal,no atmosphere but lovely beach

Very nice hotel and room, excellently situated close to sea and beach. A little far from downtown, but taxis will get you there for 8-10 euros. Breakfast and lobby bar are extremely expensive, compared to general Valencia prices.

Las Arenas is a wonderful hotel to stay in Valencia. It has numerous advantages : right on the sea and at reasonable distance from the center of the city. During our 8 day stay, we took taxis to travel in the heart of the city. The service is great. For English speaking travelers, Raoul, who is canadian born, was fantastic. He helps us recuperate a lost luggage and answered many questions. The only thing we did not like at Las Arenas was the food. The breakfeast is very good but very expensive. As for the dining room it is not worth it. Suggestion : there is a small italian restaurant right in front of the hotel which serves good food at a very fair price and the service is fast. It is the best deal around. As for breakfeast, the best thing to do is eat at one of the restaurant on the beach (east side), or follow the street in front of the hotel untill you find the small commercial avenue. There are coffee shops and small bistros. We also bought some food at the super market. Finally there are fine restaurants at about at 30 minute walk on the East side of the beach and direct on the wharf on the West side. For tapas, in the center of the city, close by the cathedral, la Taberna de la reina is great. For visits, the city of science is an absolutally fantastic site. That is about it. I would certainly go back to Las Arenas.

Superb location and excellent facilities. Any requests from room service, reception, etc. were dealt with very very quickly and efficiently.

We stayed in a nice room with big terrace, facing the sea and boulevard. Prices for drinks and food are very high, mineral water 4,75 euro, cheapest sandwich 26 euro, so we only took the breakfastbuffet for 20 euro p.p.. That was very good: champagne, salmon, iberico ham, eggs any style, fresh fruit etc. The minibar in the room was free of charge! In the neighberhood of the hotel are a lot of little restaurants, busses and metro 2 minutes away.

Most facilities where classed as an extra, eg. Sauna etc and an extra payment was required. Indoor pool was small and a requirement to wear and purchase a bathing cap. Drinks were pricey and free mini bar in room only contained soft drinks. Local area around hotel were scruffy. Hotel itself was top spec.

We went to see the Opera on Friday night and were intended to have nice supper after Opera with some of the eveningns key-performers. However, all the restaurant services were closed already. We had to go for burgers at the lobby bar. Not very inspiring experience!

The resort was beautiful, great location and customer oriented. We were there for 6 days. The restuarant was excellent service and food.

I stayed 3 nights in the hotel which was long enough to experience the hotel positive points : nice rooms very good breakfast ( 18 eur per person) but including champaign staff very helpfull negative points : although large swimming pool not enough space for beds one side of the pool has a stairs over the whole length which it not usefull at all, it takes about 10 spaces for shairs bar area at swimmingpool is also to large extreme high fares for catering, it maybe a 5 star deluxe hotel but the hotel was not that special , stayed in other five star hotels before that where also client oriented, they wanted their clients to drink and eat in the hotel. no passway to the beach. The hotel really has a toplocation beach is just in front, only the pedestrian passway is in front, but the hotel does not have a passway to the beach which is really a shame. I saw some of the clients climb the fence to get out, because they did not want to go all around the hotel to get to the beach toplocation on the beach is true, but the surroundings are not that great, at a few steps from the hotel there is a nice area with some restaurants and bars where you can spend some time if you do not want to stay in the hotel
