Hôtel Les Negociants - Valence

A town centre hotel close to the rail station, across the road which also provides attended parking,you can eat in or there are resturants and bars nearby. If driving a sat nav is most helpful to locate the hotel amongst the one way streets. Parking outside to unload could be a problem, I went direct to the station car park and carried luggage across the road. parking costs E2 with a special ticket issued by the hotel.

The Hotel is centrally located opposite of the railway station and not too noisy. All in all however it did not quite meet our expectations. Small rooms, especially the toilet (!!) and bathroom, both are definitely too small. Mattress of our bed needs to be changed. View on hotel court yard is not exciting.However, the staff at the reception was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ok.

I was very happy with my stay at this hotel.The staff was very friendly, helpful and willing to accomodate with queries. The room was spacious and clean and quiet. I shall recommend this hotel to others as well as I was recommended to stay there. Thank you for your hospitality. Regards. A.V.Lentis

Hotel room was modern and clean.Mostly hotels in the vicinty and this hotel looked the best of the lot. Parking at nearby Valence train station. Directions good. Found the hotel no problem.

Superbe hôtel entièrement rénové avec une déco moderne ! Un accueil vraiment sympa et très professionnel. Chambre très grande et très belle ! Bref, en 2 mots : Allez-y !

Stayed in Valence 5 days - Reception Desk employees were super friendly and exceptionally helpful. Communication of room confirmation prior to arrival - Poor - everything turned out alright but I can honestly say we were not sure of our accommodations until the night before - luckily I had e-mail to clear up any confusion and to confirm our reservation. Also it was helpful to have my son-in-law (who is French and his family lives in the area) to make sure on two occasions that the reservation was actually made and available.

Modern looking hotel, right on a main street. Our room was a very spacious one on the third floor, and reasonably quiet. The shower was over a bath with no curtain so a bit difficult to use. Car parking was free at the nearby railway station carpark in an arrangement with the hotel.

Completely renewed property. If I had to stop again in Valence I would go to the same place. However just two things to point out: we booked a quadruple room and it was a double bedroom with two supplementary beds, not very comfortable. The other thing is that floors are wooden made covered with carpet but very noisy when you or someone else in another room walks. On the other hand, great location with two paying parkings (quite cheap) nearby and a great and helpful service. Breakfast nice and rich.

Redelijk hotel, aardige mensen, lekker ontbijt, veel restaurtants in de buurt, airco op kamer! brandveiligheid lijkt mij niet optimaal. Wel 1 van de beste plekken op doorreis.

In the middle of town 50 meters from train station. Underground car parking across the street (2 Euros). Large room was spartan, but comfortable and quiet. Excellent value.

No frills. The room was small but clean, and the service was friendly. A good value.

We (my wife, daughter & I) were driving from Barcelona to Interlaken & wanted to stay overnight somewhere midway. Valence appeared to be a nice place & we decided to break our journey here.I think we made a good decision. We enjoyed our stay at Valence.

I can't understand the negative feedback other users have written about this hotel. It was great - trying hard to be a boutique hotel, but still keeping budget prices. Definitely a cut above the other hotels in the vicinity. It is also one of the few hotels left in France still serving fabulous, huge croissants and fresh baked pain au chocolat as a matter of course at breakfast. That alone makes it worth staying there.

We had a little difficulty to find hotel in the night. However, service quality was good. Dinner and breakfast cannot be missed.

An excellent situated hotel in the centre of Valence with a friendly welcome and accommodating staff. The only problem encountered was finding the hotel which took about an hour following the instructions given.On the whole we had an enjoyable stay at the hotel and would stay there again.

The hotel looked very nice on the web page however when we entered the room, we found it to be very drab, poorly decorated and in desperate need of refurbishment. There was no air conditioning which made it unbearable in the hot weather. The secure parking is a five minute walk away and parking on the street outside is tight. The staff were very good and friendly, however we cancelled our second stay there in favour of the Inter Hotel de Paris across the road which had air conditioning. Staff told me that the Negociant is being refurbished next year and will have air conditioning. If this happened, I would consider staying there again as the staff are so friendly, the location and price are good, but unless/until then - definitely not!

Small hotel but clean and tidy. The only thing we missed was air conditioned on the room because it was really really hot.

I've reserved 1 quadruple room for my family, but I've got 2 double rooms for the same price, because there was an overbooking. An excellent service. Diner and breakfast were fine.
