Atrium Hotel - Valence

Good position, 10 minute walking from the main station, decent surroundings. Basic room with a lot of space, no airconditioning, a little kitchen available in the anteroom (but you need pots, pans and tableware!). A very good breakfast with a plentiful choice, not included in the room price. Very nice staff, helpful and pleasing. Free wifi available in each room!

Have stayed here several times in different seasons. Hotel ok as a base but not focus of stay - does what it says on the pack. The Atrium really does need to install air conditioning as Valence becomes very hot in summer; opening the windows makes little difference (and is then quite noisy and v hard to sleep). Mini kitchen with fridge is helpful, but adds to the heat! Clean, but decor now getting a little tatty and dated. Immediate environs getting a little dodgy at night for lone females - got propositioned 4 times in 36 hours this stay. Plenty of good restaurants in town centre; lots of lovely countryside and old villages and towns within easy drive in Drome and Ardeche.

There was no air conditioning and as a result we had to sleep with the window open, the area was very noisy so we didn't sleep well. The hotel was very difficult to find from the map.

5 days Visiting French friends. Really need a car for this area - would have been difficult to get around without them driving me. Valence itself is easy to walk around, attractive historic centre, nice shopping, great Saturday market. Friendly locals.

The room was on the 6th floor, without air conditioner, it was very hot and it was very difficult to sleep.

Welcoming is good but the hotel is not clean as it should be, not enough "entretien". Problems to get in and out of the garage . Need to be all redecorated ! Sorry I ll not go again much prefer others hotels in valence like the Hotel de france

This hotel is clearly not deluxe, but it is surprisingly spacious. Our room included a kitchenette, bedroom, and full bath in the bathroom. They also mentioned that they had laundry facilities available to guests (we did not take advantage of these because we got in very late, but we would have liked to use them). Parking was directly behind the hotel, in fact, we could see the car from our window, very secure.

I have stayed in several hotels across France as I walk from Englnad to Rome for charity. The welcome I received at the Atrium and the impession I was left with lead me to conclude that the Atrium was the best I had stayed in so far.

Good for sleeping, less for day over stay good breakfast

We had a very small room and very small bathroom, no a/c, and it was hot. It did not cool off during the night. It is a second rate older, dingy hotel. This was the worst hotel on our trip. The town itself offered nothing at all. The only reason we stayed in Valence was that Orange and Avignon were completely filled due to the festival. Valence had no restaurants or anything to walk to that we could explore. Luckily, the restaurant in the hotel was open and was fairly good.

La habitación tiene lo necesario, pero es lo más parecido a una habitación de un estudiante viviendo fuera de su entorno habitual. El precio está bien, la ciudad también. Lo peor... el garaje, está muy mal de aparcar. Lo mejor, el restaurante, tiene muy buen gusto más que por la comida, por el placer de encontrarse en un lugar acogedor.

A good/nice hotel for an acceptable price.

First we got a smelly room (previous guest was a smoker I guess) but the management was very helpful in finding an other room. Only problem we had was absence of warm water at some times. Otherwise a good hotel.
