Selcuklu Evi - Special Class hotel is located in the heart of Cappadocia, in Turkey, in a small lane surrounded by gardens and local houses, offering panoramic views of rock hewn caves and the old village of Ürgüp.
It took 3 years the restoration by the master craftsmen of Cappadocia to complete the 5 houses that compose to make this unique and stunning hotel. The typical architecture made with local stones, keeps the hotel warm in winter and cool in summer in a natural way. Near the Oriental Room located in the garden, there is a wine container with two taps, where you can choose the red or white local wines.

An excellent boutique style hotel offering spacious rooms with a balcony. The breakfast varied each morning and was the best we had in Turkey. Evening meals were also first class. Staff were friendly and most helpful with tour bookings.

We were a group of five women who found our three night stay here the best of a two week Greece and Turkey tour. Royalty could not have been treated better. Every detail of our stay was managed beautifully by the staff from our meet and greet at the airport to the departure. The tours arranged by the hotel were first rate. We will return.

The owner of the hotel tried to force us to buy an expensive carpet and excursions. He shouldn't have done it. On the last day, while we were having breakfast at a restaurant, an hotel employee entered our room without our permission to check the use of refrigerator, though hanging "don't distarb" sign. (We had nothing from the refrige in our room.) I felt very uncomfortable.

Selcuklu Evi exceeded our expectations. The owner and staff were very welcoming and helpful. The courtyard was so pleasant and the food so good that, uncharacteristically, we only ate there. Our bedroom had a lovely stone barrel ceiling and was cool and spacious. We had Email discussions about tours beforehand. Then we booked our guided tours through the hotel and were provided with a knowledgeable and pleasant guide which added to our appreciation of Cappadokia. Would highly recommend this hotel.

By airplane
There are two airports in Cappadocia. One of them is located in the city of Kayseri, 80 km (49.7 miles) from Ürgüp and has three daily flights to/from Istanbul.
The other is in Nevsehir, 20 km (12.4 miles) from Ürgüp and has only two flights a week from/to Istanbul.
By bus
From Istanbul: an overnight bus leaves in the evening and takes approximately 11 hours to arrive at the bus station in Urgüp.
From Ankara: a bus leaves every hour and takes approximately 4.5 hours to arrive at the bus station in Urgüp.
Transfers from the bus station can be arranged by the hotel on request, subject to charges.
